Draugr is by me!

The dark-furred youth was nearly ready to move into her own home. She was not certain if she was allowed such a thing prior to attaining adulthood, but Dra did not think there was any harm in preparing. The Gjalda slave had constructed the wall and door as she'd commanded -- not asked, commanded, she reminded herself -- and all was nearing completion. It was difficult for Draugr to remember her place above these slaves. While the youth had an innate understanding of submission and dominance and their associated hierarchy, her innate instincts did not account for slaves. She had to remind herself just how below her they were -- it was their purpose to serve. They ought to know nothing else, and asking only confused the roles.

The drab brown hybrid smiled at her hunkering little ruin. Most of the second floor was destroyed, and lumpy earth and piles of stone extended around it, perhaps evidence of older walls, long fallen into the earth. She moved around its outskirts, busying herself with its defenses and camouflage. The grasses of Drifter Bay grew tall in many places and were easily transportable when young, and Draugr thought she might find a climbing vines to cover the outer walls of her home. The sun dipped downward toward the horizon slowly as she worked, the skies above first burning and then mellowing to a cool and pale purple the shade of Dra's own eyes.

When she had finished with this, the wolfdog meandered to a nearby copse of trees, narrow and twisted pines that hunkered low to the earth, and sat down. It was several good yards to her ruin and her view was perfect. As she looked, however, the woman frowned: something, or several somethings, were still missing. Dra did not know what those missing things were, and puzzled over it quietly, her head just slightly tilted to one side.

OOC: I'm under the impression that Reykr isn't supposed to know that she is his daughter, so yeaaaahhhh, treating this as the first time they are meeting? Also sorry for being stupidly late. :/ Also Reykr is wandering around in his secui form. :] //+485

Reykr still was moving from place to place within Salsola. He didn't know where he wanted to make his home and so he and Val just packed up their stuff every day that they wanted to move and they simply did that, move. This was one of those days, so he had the small amount of items he had with him, either in his backpack that was on his back, or the bags that Val the Elk carried on his back. The stag followed Reykr but held little distance from his master because he was still unsure of Salsola. Val still grew nervous around the packlands because Val and Reykr never really were in the pack together. They were always loners when they were together, so Val only knew Reykr as a loner, never a pack wolf. Salsola also seemed to be in turmoil lately, there were attacks on the clan, and Val had to ride into battle that one day. Reykr still was hurt from that day and Val still ached from being slammed into by a horse, but for the most part they both were still okay.

Reykr was in his secui form as he walked along with his steed and sooner of later Reykr noticed the smell of two wolves. Salsolians, obviously, for intruders could not have gotten this far into the packlands without someone noticing. Sweet corn eyes looked around for the luperci that the scents belonged to, and even though he knew that he shouldn't be nosy and see what was up, he followed the scents anyway. His long shepherd-like tail wagged lightly as he trotted along with his nose to the ground and the backpack on his back awkwardly flopping around. At some point it ended up falling off of him because of the angle he had his head, and he got stuck for a moment with the backpack on his face. He calmly fixed it by putting his nose closer to the ground and flipping the back up onto his back again.

He continued on until he found a ruin that looked as if it was going to be occupied. It was being built by someone. Reykr tilted his head and flicked his ears at the building before he started to walk up to it. Val followed close behind the wolfdog. Soon, on the outskirts of it, a youth could be seen, and he cocked his head the opposite way and smiled at the girl. Hello there. I'm Reykr Helsi. the man spoke to the child. Who are you? he spoke to her not as if she was a child, but as if she was a growing child, mainly so she would not get offended with him. She did look pretty similar to Siv, now that he took a good look at her, but Reykr didn't know what to make of the girl.

(--) NBD broskies, and I belieeeeve so! Siv kept her hidden away when the elky thing went down, yuh? I think Draugr knows, though, and will want to refer to him as daddy Reykr at some point? <_< Perhaps he can have a heartattack! moment out of that. IDK, will have to double check with Mel as to what Dra knows. @_@! This posty be open-ended for that end; in either case, it's not hard for Rey to make some assumptions. >;3

Draugr is by me!

Whatever was missing was not readily apparent to the drab-hued youth. The innards were comfortable to Draugr, and she couldn't wait to live here, but -- still, the outside left something to be desired. The broken wall was opened up to the world; perhaps it would not provide good enough insulation for the horse she someday planned to own? Dra did not know the first thing of horsemanship nor the temperatures they were capable of tolerating. Perhaps she'd need Gjalda to add another wall.

The wolfdog was still thinking when the noises of an approach drew her attention, and she watched a hulking Secui figure followed by the strangest companion she'd ever seen. The Bambino gaped at the elk a moment, pale purple eyes following its progress as it and the wolf -- wolfdog, she could see more clearly, made his way toward her. She smelled him, and thought she recognized it. Mama Siv smelled like him, once, the youth thought. And -- she needed no more inconclusive evidence, his name. Daddy Reykr, she thought, gawking at him. He did not seem to know her -- and why should he? They had never met, and mama Siv had kept her carefully hidden from the world for so long -- she could only gape a moment before it registered that he had asked her a question.

Draugr, she said, quietly. Draugr Helsi.

OOC: Yeah Siv didn't show her to him when they last saw each other, and Mel and I haven't had a therad since then so Rey wouldn't really know. Also, I'm unsure of what form Dra is in. Is she in lupus? (btw your Dra tables are so cute, makes me want one for Rey but J has no commissioning monies *sigh*) +5(621)

The shepherd looking wolfdog held his form with some sort of pride of what he was, even though he was just like a really big German Shepherd, and nothing else. He was proud of himself because he helped the clan only days prior, and he was the one to make the kill. Him, out of all of the Salsolians that were helping, he killed the other luperci, and saved the life of a fellow Salsolian that was a higher rank than he. He had a reason to be proud of what he had done, but he also was ashamed, because he killed one of his own. He had good reason to, but that did not give him all the comfort in doing what he did. The gods punished him for his actions though, for they gave him a stiff shoulder, that still hurt from having that arrow pierce his shoulder flesh. He had a noticable limp in his front left shoulder because of it. He didn't know how long the limp would be there, but since he utilized his secui form often, he hoped that the limp would be one of the ones that heals over time.

The child tilted her nose toward him, as if she was taking in a better smell of him, and the man chuckled lightly. He had taken in her scent some time ago and recognized her as a Salsolian and a female, but what he was just now realizing was that she smelt strongly of Siv. He cocked his head himself, and his nose twitched at the child. When she gawked at him, he grew even more confused at the child. Did she know something that he did not? The wolfdog wondered what the child was gawking about, but his question would soon be answered in the name of the child. She started with just her first name, but then she repeated her first with her suname after, and his sweet corn eyes widened at the child as he looked at her.

He thought about it, really hard for a moment. Siv had not told him that he had a daughter, nor that she had changed her name from Romano to Helsi. His sweet corn eyes went from the child to the ground and then to his elk. He took a few steps back and then he sat down and his eyes returned to her. He just sat there for a good moment and thought about it for a moment. It explained alot. Why Siv was here, instead of home. It didn't explain to him why he hadn't been told about the child before. They were cousins, sure, but Reykr still loved Siv in that weird way. Why would the woman even let him near her if she did not want him? Because he was nothing but a tool, but he did not know that much. He didn't think about how she could have just been using him for his good genes.

This also explained why Eris thought so highly of the Helsi name. She probably figured that either Siv and him were related or that they were lost mates or something of the sort. Reykr finally let out a sigh. He even tried to think of reasons that this child would not be his. Reykr did not think that Siv would have hooked up with any of the other cousins she had, nor the other Helsi men that were around. He blinked a few times before he lifted his rump from the ground again. Is Siv your mother, Draugr? Who is your father? Do you know? asked the man, wondering if maybe the child knew the identity of her father.

Optime. Spoke to Mel and she said Draugr would know but Reykr wouldn't. BUT NOW IT IS TIME TO FIND OUT? O:

Draugr is by Alaine!

The muddy-colored wolf seemed just as perplexed as Draugr in that first instant. He stepped back and away and sat down abruptly. Dra made no move forward, nor did she attempt to stand -- she continued to gape, wide purple eyes appraising him for a long moment, before she broke her gaze and stared intently at the earth before her. What was she supposed to do now? She thought about running away and finding mama Siv, making her deal with this -- whatever it was -- but she knew that was wrong. She would be an adult soon, and adults fought their own battles.

Yes, she started, answering his first question, but she paused thereafter, eyes slowly lifting to look upon him again. The youth did not know how to answer this second question, and her ears were pressed flat against her head, fingers gripping at the ground as if she were fearful of falling off. You are, the youth said, frowning. Was he playing a game? Did he truly not know? She realized, belatedly, perhaps she ought not to have said anything of the sort -- perhaps mama Siv had reasons for this trickery? It was far too late to take the words back, however, and so the drab-furred wolfdog's muzzle bent slowly toward the ground again, lavender-hued eyes following her nose to focus hard on the grass and earth before her.
