Never had he before felt so spited, so betrayed and so angry at the folly of others. Where once those of Anathema had been nothing worse than ignored, now they were not to be trusted, and to be viewed as lacking in decent leadership, by the Alpha of New Dawn. He and his Gamma had not hesitated in their trek back to New Dawn, though they took their time, walking where before they had run to get there. Zalen took this time to have Shandom’s council, and they discussed what must be done in the face of what had happened. It took them more than a day to return to their home, but by the time they made it there, a decision had been made.

Upon entering the borders, Zalen lifted his maw to the sky to call his members to him, and he did not stop this call until he walked into the opening outside the den. Then, he took his roost upon the dirt mound there, and waited, his face grim, his eyes angry. This would be the first time he would call his brothers and sisters to him under bad circumstances, and he was very upset that he had to do so in the first place.

Tharin had noticed Zalen and Shandom's leaving the night before, resting outside Kiara's den. He had taken little notice of it, thinking it was typical pack business. As Shandom was the longer standing member of the pack, he hadn't felt that he was slighted when he hadn't been sought out. They were missing longer than he had thought they would be, but the rest of the pack seemed alright. It couldn't be anything too serious. Tharin simply increased the number of his patrols to make sure the pack wasn't harmed while their alpha was out, and made sure that he himself was a reassuring presence.

The deep booming call that rang out was anything other than reassuring however. Immediately Tharin came out from the dens, moving to Zalen's side. He looked around, hackles raised as he searched for the threat. Nothing was there. It did little to reassure him, moving to sit as close to the alpha as he could. Tharin scanned the clearing, watching the others move in. He did his best to lock eyes with each member, trying to promote the protectiveness he was feeling. Tharin didn't want his pack to be harmed. He would do all he could to prevent it.

Jiva had been out gathering some of the wild herbs, working on the medicine bag he hoped to have finished by winter. He had to do it season by season and start fresh because, well he was brand new at this whole thing. So he was content at the moment just wandering the valley near the mountain taking in the quiet of the day. He was thinking of finding Drin and and just hugging her and walking off. Just the thought of that alone made him smile and wonder what she would do about it.

He was taken out of his daydream when he heard the urgent howl, he nearly dropped his freshly picked flowers and roots and leaves to hurry up, but he held onto them and hurried to the den where the Alpha male was headed. His heart thumped, had something happened to one of the members? Did someone else get attacked? It sounded so urgent, almost like the day Jiva found Drin and Titania called the pack to her, but this one seemed even more so... what was going on? He wondered as he made his way to spot the black man who he respected above all else and sat as he waited for the others keeping his head low in submission, which was harder in optime but...

OOC: It's gettin' real in New Dawn. :o / +000

For once, Fayne didn't feel useless or weak or powerless. Since the trip to Casa she felt quite the opposite, empowered by the lessons she'd learned about fighting and midwifery. The silver fae practiced nearly every day, punching a lot or whatever else was there, to sharpen her newly acquired skills. Though, there was not much she could do to practice her other skill. Even so, she went over the lessons in her head, repeating what Teliesin had said and taught her. As always, she found refuge in her meadow where nothing seemed to be awry. Fayne also found that her hunting skills had improved slightly, the lessons in fighting had helped hone the huntress even if just a little.

While she practiced all of this, there was a seriousness lingering in New Dawn and she already knew about who. Amy Sunders. Fayne knew several steps had already been taken in response to Amy's actions, but what had been accomplished by them were unknown to her. She couldn't relax knowing something was going on within the pack and mostly because of her. Also because Kiara had been devastated by the news she had been forced to deliver. One thought that eased her nerves, was knowing that she would be able to do something when the time came to take care of the blond bitch. The small silver wolf wouldn't hold back either, Amy would pay. In the middle of all this chaos, she couldn't keep mind away from her stormy giant, Noah. Just the mere thought of him brought a smile to her lips and eased her tension.

When Zalen's call sounded over the pack lands she immediately thought of him. The couple had been taking things slow, but Fayne was keen on his anger when he'd come to her side after the second attack and knew that Amy was just as much his enemy as she was hers. Fayne acted quickly dropping what she was doing and made her way to the den hoping she'd find him there, calm. But, that was highly unlikely. A potent anger washed over her as she made her way over there to match the theme of her Alpha's howl. Once there, she made it a point to find her mate before coming to halt before the large obsidian wolf, forest green eyes planted on him with intensity. The small wolf's hackles raised, Zalen was furious and that couldn't mean anything good. Fayne had a feeling that now was the time New Dawn as a whole would start acting upon the decisions Amy had chose to make.

ooc Itty bittiest PP of Ciara, hope it's okay Candace, if not I will change it <3 WC: 564

Augustus

The wolf did not sleep that night, he did not even tread in the interior of the pack lands, not since the Alpha and Gamma had left the previous day. He maintained a constant vigil, traveling up and down the pack’s border, marking, scenting, and tracking. No one would trespass under his watch, what was sleep in the face of the dog bitch Sunders? No. Never, not while he breathed. He’d ordered his mate to keep to the den, in case something were to slip through the cracks. He could not get Fayne out of his head, when he closed his eyes he saw her again stumbling towards him, with terror etched into the lines of her face. What if it had been Ciara, or one of New Dawn’s pups that crossed the border battered and beaten? He knew the answer, and it was written in blood. A growl rumbled in his throat and he slashed at the ground before him, drawing deep rivets in the earth. He’d drawn more of these markers periodically, doing his level best to deter anyone who might think to harm those that dwelled within.

Augustus was not a shifter, but he did not fear those that were, and thought even less of a dog-shifter. Dogs were pitiful, subservient to a wolf, and no threat to him. He knew only what he’d heard of Amy from Zalen and the whispers of his pack, but seeing the females’ distress he was quick to set his sights on the blond woman. It boiled his blood to know that his pack was being hunted.

A piercing cry goaded his legs into immediate motion. The Alpha had returned! And Augustus threw himself towards the sound, calling to the pair as he did so. They were not so far away and he glimpsed the sable and arctic wolf fairly soon after, lowering his tail when he was in their sight with differential respect. The timbre of his call set his pelt to bristling however, and his muscles twitched and rippled uneasily beneath his pelt. He bounded up beside Shandom, though kept himself in line with his brother’s shoulder for the time being. When he reached the den, he settled himself apart from the subords, leaving room enough for his mate to seat herself beside him, while remaining close enough to his Alpha and Gammas to hear word of what actions he would need to take.

He met Tharin’s gaze with a burning intensity, narrowing his eyes and within them relaying a bitter truth. They must prepare themselves for battle, and soon. He knew this moment was coming, had known it since the day he and Zalen near tore the place apart hunting the golden mutt. When he finally tore his eyes off his tawny brother he gazed upon the wolves below and around him, sizing them all up with scrutiny. They needed to steel themselves for what was to come. Steps would need to be taken in the days that followed. His pack was strong, but was it enough?

Lastly his eyes fell to Ciara, his golden girl was radiant again, and his gaze softened upon her own. He whined sweetly, low enough for her to hear, and her alone. It had been too long since they’d trained or hunted together, and that would need remedying. Their pack needed them now more than ever.

WC:: 547 OOC:: Oooo a dark side of Drin?

Since coming back from Casa di Cavalieri, Palaydrian had a different air about her. She was full of confidence, felt stronger, and even looked better than she had before Aram attacked her. Drin had become a force to be reckoned with. Once she had been able to shift again, the fae took into the woods like a silent grim reaper of small animals. The weeks of not being able to hunt let alone run had pent up so much energy and she needed a release. Hunting small game sated the bloodlust growing inside her and kept the foolish thoughts of wanting to find Aram and destroy him at bay. Yes quite a change had come over the normally jovial woman. Was she turning into the killer Syliat had always wanted her to be? Was this why her great grandmother had taken such an interest in her younger months? “You’re just like Tigra...” she’d say, though Palaydrian never knew what the demon was talking about. Little did she know that this woman Syliat Darkfire spoke of was actually a large fragment in the puzzle piece of figuring out her past and her place in ‘Souls.

Blood was smeared across her maw and dripping from the onyx talons of her feathered friend Zalia. Drin had caught an unfortunate rabbit and had brought it back to her garden as a surprise for the bird, who still couldn’t hunt for herself until she was fully healed. “Thankee Sai,” she screeched in response to the lifeless thing before tearing into its flesh as though it were alive. About to respond in what Jiva called low speech, Drin turned her head in the direction of an urgent howl. Must leave...be back later, she managed to call over her shoulder before darting off into the woods. It was Zalen and it sounded grave.

Four legs carried her swiftly through the woods, she was far from the den, but sprinting would make up for lost time. The swimming she had been doing during her healing weeks had seriously increased her endurance, panting didn’t start until she passed deer lake and soon enough she was weaving through glen eyrie. The woman slowed down as her snout became assaulted with the assembly of pack members. Almost everyone was here, she hoped she hadn’t been too late, but once her breathing returned to normal, she drifted out of the treeline and scanned the crowd for her mate. Despite the feeling of foreboding in the air, she couldn’t fight the smile that pulled at her blood stained mouth. Jiva just had this effect on her, but once her eyes moved to Zalen, another enamored male, she knew this was no time for such light thoughts.

She moved soundlessly to the optime’s side, a slight whimper escaping her maw. What was going on? Had someone else gotten hurt? Or, and this thought made her heart race, were the wolves of New Dawn finally doing something about the recent attacks. Bloodlust bubbled just below the surface of the Omega’s face. She was ruthless when it came to hunting, could she do the same when it came to killing canines? Yes.

He would not do this. He would not let this blonde bitch ruin his relationship with Naniko. The Gamma had made up his mind.

Shandom sat quietly near Zalen, his mind still tumbling from the previous day's events. If he were being frank, he still hadn't processed the whole thing, and was slightly concerned that steps were being taken too quickly. Anathema, in his mind, was not entirely at fault for the blonde bitch. Certainly, she had most regrettably resided within their borders, but it was not his opinion that the entire pack and leadership were at fault. Especially not Naniko.

For now, however, he would not let this impact his steely features. Indeed, those who looked upon Shandom saw nothing but a solemn face with steely eyes; one clouded with injury, the other dark and slightly angry. The Gamma nodded in greeting to each wolf who came, a quiet and polite gesture that did not take away from the gravity of the situation. Whatever his feelings for Anathema and its leadership, it did not detract from the utter horror of Amy Sunders and her annoying (and soon to be, fatal) habit of picking on members of his pack. Despite his reclusive nature, Shandom loved his brothers and sisters dearly. He would not stand to see them hurt.

Perhaps it was his arrogance, but Shandom did not fear Amy Sunders. She did not have the power of a pack behind her - that much was clear to the Gamma. Rather, she was a mere loner with an obnoxious superiority complex and a penchant for running into females who did not, or would not, defend himself. Almost bitterly, the Gamma knew he would not hesitate to fight her, though he found combat against females most reprehensible. Her blood would taste sweet on his tongue, an ambrosia he had not sampled in far too long. It would be a pleasure to take from her what she tried to take from his sisters.

The sun was drying her off as she was soaked from being fishing. Theo ripping into the fish as she laid there. She wasn't all that hungry, she had ate too much, so she left the other two to the bird or the scavengers, which ever got to it. The call stopped Theo, as Adonia's head rose, ears alert. She looked a mess, but the call was urgent, so she didn't hesitate. In her agile lupine form, she ran like the wind toward her alpha. Theo in the sky soaring with as much grace and agility, perhaps even more than the slender Adonia. Her fur a mess, though, making her look raggedy. It gnawed at her conscious, but she kept in mind that the howl was of urgency, and perhaps there was danger. Her heart went into her throat, she wanted Ookami. Adonia feared danger, and didn't want any of it. It was why she loved this pack more and more. It was safe, and laid back.

As she came upon the scene she saw a few familiar and a few she hadn't seen, or met. Their scent said they were all members, so the call wasn't about them. Her eyes glanced up to Zalen's form and then lowered her head in respect before laying down, her bird perched a distance away in a tree, watching the scene and listening. He was ready to do what he was truly trained for, scouting. If there was an enemy, he'd spot it in a blink of an eye.

OOC:: Noot a problem Stormie! <3 If anyone's allowed to PP her, it's you. Big Grin WC: 531

In Character

Though she had not met Fayne personally she’d felt sick with worry ever since hearing of her attack. Then another one, and the disappearance of Kohaku? The emotions inside her were all jumbled together and she often found herself thinking on how lovely it would feel to snap the blonde bitch’s neck. Amy Saunders was a disgusting piece, a lowly dog who dared to shed the blood of New Dawn, who prowled in search of defenceless characters to injure for no reason. She longed to prowl the borders alongside her mate, to be part of the team that delivered her head to Zalen and to Fayne.

Augustus had come to her before he set out for his own prowling, informing her that Zalen and Shandom had gone. Instantly she tensed with worry. What if Anathema defended Saunders and performed some atrocity like attacking them? What if war was declared? A growl had sounded in her throat and she’d risen from the ground of the den, hackles raised and bristling while her fangs all but dripped with vengeance. Then, something had happened that she’d not expected. Augustus had ordered her to keep to the den.

She remembered the wide-eyed look she’d given him at that. Stay in the den? Allow him to patrol the borders himself? But she was an Epsilon too! A defender of the pack just as he was! Her paw had stomped on the ground and she was about to make a growling reply that she would most certainly not stay in the den when her mate’s eyes had hardened. He gave her that stern, authoritative look she could not fight against, and slowly her anger died. A whimper had left her, a consenting nip had been given to his chin, and she’d resigned herself to the protection of the den. He couldn't focus on defending the pack if he was worried about her.

It was there she was laying when Zalen’s howl cut through the air very close to her. She jumped at first, and then jumped up, tail wagging. Zalen and Shandom were back and they were fine! She was about to burst from the den happily and pounce Shandom, who she thought of as an older brother, when she took a second to listen to the tone of the howl. It was grim. Serious. Almost menacing. The Epsilon’s golden fur bristled as her lips pulled back in a silent snarl. Her pack was in danger, and she was prepared to defend them.

Golden paws brought her out of the den a few moments later. In the time she’d needed to compose her snarling self a few pack members had arrived. She made eye contact with all of them and gave them each a singular nod, before her eyes fell on her behemoth. She moved to his side and answered his private whine with a whimper of her own, nuzzling at his ear for a moment before turning to Zalen. As she was in heat once again, she kept her tail curled tightly around herself and pressed reassuringly to Augustus’ side. She knew how protective he was of her in this state, but all of his efforts of defense would need to focus on whatever Zalen had called them for.

Ookami was still in his Optime form, he coulnd't shift again until his leg was completely healed. He had a crutch that he used to help him get around, so when the urgent call came up, he grabbed it and began hobbling towards the source. He had a feeling that Adonia would already be there when he finally managed to get there. This broken leg was really killing him.

Finally he was there. He spotted Adonia quickly and made his way straight towards her. She was laying down so he lowered himself to the ground carefully and put one arm on her back, rubbing her fur gently. He looked at the Alpha and dipped his head at him in respect. Then, he waited to hear what was going on.

WC:400.

Ever since she had heard the news, Kaira had been unable to sleep. She would lie awake at night and think about her son. He was alive, but had been taken from her. Amy had taken him from her. Amy, that freaking dog, had taken so much from her. She had taken Kiara's beautiful coat and carved disgusting designs into the white wolf's fur. That dog had taken her pride as a non-shifter and stolen her choice of a single form. It was all Kiara could do but not think about the coming month. According to Drin, Kiara would shift four months after being infected and the arctic female had no choice but to believe the false information. However, none of those could compare to the loss of Kohaku. Her only son, stolen from her den. The very thought made the young mother's blood boil with rage.

When Zalen and Fayne had broken the news to Kaira, she had wanted to immediately leave New Dawn to search for her missing son. Kohaku was alive and Kiara could only imagine the horrors that Amy was putting him through. The very idea nearly drove the young mother insane with anger and grief. But as always, Lucia held her back. Young, innocent, dependent Lucia. The pup's presence acted as an anchor for her mother and forced her to stay inside the parklands. Kiara could not, would not abandon Lucia nor would she take the juvenile wolf on a dangerous hunt. Kiara wouldn't bring Lucia anywhere close to Amy.

The scarred mother had watched when Zalen and Shandom left New Dawn under the shroud of darkness. It was infuriating for her to be unable to go with them and Kiara had waited anxiously for their return. Only a tiny bit of relief came when the Alpha and Gamma had returned. Zalen rose his voice and called out to the pack, demanding their presence. The exhausted female and her daughter rose and together they followed Tharin out of the den. Kiara's heckles stood on end and anger seethed in her eyes when she took her place among the subordinate wolves. Kiara sat down on her haunches and didn't meet anyone's eyes. She kept her body low and submissive, but it was all she could do from to prevent herself from standing up and demanding answers. The young mother felt worse than useless and so very sad.

Tharin's eyes wandered over his pack as they came in. Not all of them were ones he knew well, or even understood. Zalen had chosen to trust him though, and Tharin would do his best to uphold this trust. To fight for his alpha, and keep the pack safe. Jiva looked almost comical in Tharin's mind, even with the serious situation. He just hoped that the young male would handle it. Fayne arrived shortly after, a calm strength in her that hadn't existed before. It made him proud to be able to see that in her. She was such a sweet soul, undeserving of what had happened to her. He hoped what had brought Zalen to call them together wasn't going to send her into any danger.

Augustus arrived shortly after. It was good to see the warrior. He was temperamental, and difficult for Tharin to be around. He trusted him with his life though. The grim message in Augustus' eyes brought Tharin's lips back in a snarl, prepared to fight against whatever threat it was that was coming to face against them. He wouldn't back down from this. He had trained, even if he wasn't as powerful as the giant wolf. They both came from a land where death met them at every turn, and had survived. They wouldn't die from this, and the pack certainly wasn't going to be brought down by it.

Palaydrian appeared strong enough to fight against what had come. If the look on her features meant anything, they had another warrior to recruit. Tharin's tail wagged, pleased that their weakest members had grown so strong since their time in Casa. He had grown strong as well, though he still felt that it wasn't good enough. His training didn't seem like it would be halting anytime soon, trying to grasp everything that was happening and deal with it. Tharin had to be stronger. It was a drive that pumped through his veins as loudly as anything else that was there.

Adonia had arrived as well. She looked anxious. Tharin wanted to comfort her, assure her all was well, but he didn't know that was true. From what he had seen, it would just be a kind lie to help her sleep. Tharin couldn't do that to her. He couldn't lie, not when it was like this. Their other warrior laid next to her mate, just as prepared as Augustus to lay her life on the line. He was proud of the pack's willingness for battle to defend each other. Perhaps they should have done this sooner. Taken down the female that had hurt Fayne, killed the male that tried to break Palaydrian. It wasn't his place to make such decisions though.

His gaze fell on Kiara at last. Lucia was curled up, in no position to deal with what was happening. It tore at his heart, knowing that danger might threaten them again. Tharin had told them New Dawn could protect them. He hoped that he wouldn't be proved wrong. Lowering his head he whimpered softly at her before straightening up again, holding his place as a gamma of the pack.

Was midning his own business; out stalking a rabbit and getting more used to this new form of his; the more natural wolven form. He had been just about ready to spring when he heard the call; how torn between loyalty and hunger yet he knew Loyalty came first. He resigned himself to this lost meal and headed off toward the origin of the call and was quite surprised when he managed to get there at the number who had shown up already.

Kota looked around slowly and finally found a spot to sit and wait for this meeting -his first in this pack- to begin while his eyes slowly scanned the other wolves; some he has seen before while others still remained new to his eyes. Laying down Kota began to relax and feel more comfortable, in this pack he had at first been forced to sleep in a pack den but now; he knew this was his family and he was safe.

WC:447+ -pp Ookami and Adonai (Sammy and Alley let me know please if either of you have any issues. I will fix it)

There is a point in every one’s live where they are content just resting and assured with what they do have, and stop trying to get something more. He was there, Noah had a pack that cared about him, and he about them. He had a mate that he loved dearly she was the reason he woke and greeted the sun every morning with a smile, and not pull away from the shining light with a snarl as he had done so many of times. He found the pack den warm and inviting again, he still used that small alcove to store his herbs in; he had noticed that the young Jiva was just as interested in healing as he was; he knew he needed to meet up with him, share all that Deuce had taught him, and all that he had learned on his own, as where the silver tripod had stored all of his healing stuff. The male didn’t see a point of hording it all too him-self, he knew it would be best share with the younger male, after all the more that the pack had willing to heal if something major happened that damaged the pack, the better the ratio would be with the healing to the healers.

The silver male lowered his head lapping up cool waters of the stream that ran though the pack lands, the cold water was blissful in his mouth, it cooled him down during this summer days. Ears lifted up upon the furry head, searching for the echoing of the sound he had though he just heard. Hearing the long and just as powerful echoing back the male came with the speed that only the gods could have blessed him with, eyes locking onto his sexy mate, a smile warmed his face seeing her. Seeing the golden male the pack brethren offered his an extra hand to move to his mate’s side. Giving a nod towards Adonia, as he moved to take his beloved’s side, she was just as pretty now as any other second of any other day that he had laid eyes upon her, the silver male looked to the black male there was a rage in his eyes, the silver male felt a sicking feeling growing in his stomach, the male lowered his head down and meekly looked to the black leader, he was secretly hoping all of his side plotting with how to get that troublesome pup away from Amy, and back to his rightful mother, Kiara hadn’t upset the black male at him…again. He had been very fearful of Zalen’s rage since the last pack meeting that the Alpha male had called.

Titania

Moonsong

Word Count → 400+ :: Annnnd bringing up the rear thanks to Comic Con...

Zalen was gone and the Alphess did not like this at all. Was this what it was like for him when she had gone to visit the Court and Casa di Cavalieri? Probably not, she figured, nothing could shake the Alpha's bones, and it bothered her that this could shake her own. She wanted to go with them but one of them needed to remain in New Dawn to lead the pack. Still, her agitation had been palpable while he was gone. At least he went with a wolf she respected. Not only was it bothersome that this business about the fiend had taken Zalen away from the pack lands, but it had interrupted yet another love marathon between the two, leaving her with an empty, cold dais to sleep on while he was gone.

Yet at least there was one thing there to lift the girl's spirits... there were signs that she was pregnant, and this time it was less likely to be a false pregnancy like the one before. It had wounded the Alphess's pride to have to tell her love and her pack what she had learned when she saw the midwife in Cour des Miracles, but now it seemed she had another chance...

A howl made her head jerk off of her paws. She had been dozing in the woods when she heard the call, and in to time at all she heard footsteps gallop past her. Her people were coming from all corners of the land to meet their leader and hear the result of his visit to Anathema. Jumping to her paws, Titania took off after them. Here and there she could see a tail or a rump moving through the forest, and just a few steps after her people she broke from the trees to see Zalen on the mound.

“My love,” she said, but instead of calling out the words were low, spoken to herself. She moved through the pack as she ran up to Zalen, her tail wagging as she licked his muzzle. Then her tail grew still as her mien became more somber, and she looked into his eyes. Her ears flicked, and she walked a half circle around him to take her place at his side, her shoulder butting up against him, so happy to have him back. She looked out to her people, so many eyes awaiting his words, and then turned her attention to the Alpha. “What news have you brought us, my star-runner?”

At first, the Alpha kept his eyes focused on the ground, the olive pools therein swirling and twisting like stormy clouds. His massive black form looked even more so now that his ruff was puffed in agitation, and his tail flicked like a broken clock. It was only after it was clear that all had gathered, and Titania had taken her place at his side, that he lifted his gaze to his brothers and sisters.

He scanned each of their faces individually, and in a moment of clarity could basically read all their thoughts. They were angry, confused, bitter; just as he was, but hopefully now some of their questions would be answered. The Alpha raised his mighty head and lifted black lips to reveal sharp teeth, "I’m sure you all know of what that bitch has done to us," His voice was laced with guttural growls, "and I had hoped Anathema would have taken care of her. But no, the fools of that dark pack let her go without so much as a scratch. She has been wandering free to her own devices for over a moon’s turn now." He licked his lips through bared teeth, "But I suppose…" His voice grew dark, and for a moment his eyes caught a flash of light, making him seem like some earthly demon, "that is a good thing, for now we can hunt her down ourselves. She is to pay for everything she has done; not only to Fayne and Kiara, but to any and all the canine lives she had ruined."

Zalen stood then, "I do not wish for our pack to be one of violence, but some crimes must be paid for, and Amy must be brought to justice, and Kohaku must be returned to his mother." His eyes slid over to Kiara for but a brief moment before continuing, "Hunt her down." He said firmly, scanning each of their faces again, "Bring her here, amongst us, to pay for her crimes, and let us be done with her." He snarled again then, but then calmed and sat back down beside Titania. He had made his decision clear, but knew there might be questions, and he was willing to answer them.

WC:400.

Everyone in the pack was quick to respond to the Alpha's call. Most managed to arrive before Kiara, who had dragged her feet as she walked. She knew what the meeting was about and dreaded the news. Despite that, she had so many questions. Where was her son now? Was he okay? Why wasn't he back with her? Why had Amy taken Kohaku in the first place? Was Amy feeding Kohaku properly? What was she teaching him? What had she done to him?

Kiara didn't dare look at anyone. She felt hurt, more so than she had ever felt before; as did many of the other wolves of New Dawn. Kiara could practically sense their feelings and it made her feel even worse. The young mother wanted to scream, she wanted to run out of New Dawn and track Amy down.

When the last member's trickled into the meeting, Titina addressed her mate. Zalen spoke with all the power he normally commanded and more. His voice was laced with anger, and the vicious tone was only reenforced by his guttural growls. As the arctic female listened to her leader's speech, she fed off his energy. Kiara's whole body shook and her head raised slightly as the urge for justice and blood rose deep inside her. Black lips pulled back to reveal her sharp fangs, a display that was no less impressive than those of the larger wolves.

Zalen's speech wasn't long, but it was powerful. He gave the kill order for Amy, a move Kiara supposed and was glad for. A low growl came from Kiara and her heckles raised even more. She could feel Lucia beside her and wondered what the puppy thought. It was only the second time that Lucia had seen her mother in such a state, but Kiara thought it was once too many times.

Even though Zalen's decision was one Kiara applauded and was happy for, she still felt very empty. None of her questions had been answered, and it sounded almost like Zalen was blaming Anathema for what had happened. Granted, the pack didn't do anything to help, but Kiara didn't blame them. She was friends with Aeron and refused to blame her friend. It wasn't fare. Amy might have once been part of Anathema, but the dog was uncontrollable. In Kiara's mind, there was nothing Anathema could have done to prevent the tragedy.

Feeling brave, Kiara spoke. "Zalen, do you have any new news on my son?"
