assuming that Teme told him about her or something? sorry for the bad post ;-;

The small kid he'd met in the ruins of the fort had told him about this place, and while Amaury never did fancy himself as a pack man, he wasn't going to turn down a place this interesting. And besides the young male and his brother was struggling to keep themselves alive on the basic skills they'd been taught as kids, mostly forgotten. South African lives were filled with trading and buying food, rather than hunting it when you had the items to do so. And Amaury's family did have those items, so hunting was done by their, for lack of a better word, servants. But they were paid so it wasn't that bad.

Amaury had meant to get a horse too, but he had no clue about how to do that so he was screwed there. Especially now he had to take all his belongings and join a pack. Both Luuk and Amaury were loaded to their eyeballs with all their junk. Drugs, alcohol and cigarettes were carefully stashed away in hiding so as not to give the wrong impression. Amaury and his brother were the usual posh type and didn't mind hard work or being told what to do. Letting a doggish howl rise up into the air, Amaury sat down on a grassy bank with a sigh, why did they have so much junk to carry. 'We gonna need a perd sometime soon, ja?' he said to his brother softly, clearly tired.

Saul Lupus is by Alaine!

Since returning from Casa with Maia and the foals, the Stormbringers lives appeared to be moving at a fast pace. He'd returned to his house in the afternoon a few days ago to find Temeraire with arms and legs and hands and hair. It had been an odd, but surprisingly uplifting discovery, until Teme had enquired about the pink appendage that he'd discovered between his legs this morning. It had prompted Saul to explain everything, about genitalia, about sex, mates. He wasn't shocked when Teme had enquired after his and Lilin's sexual involvement, nor was he particularly surprised at his sons outburst and exit from their conversation. He had been shocked by his sons return, and the declaration that he was moving out. Saul had always known his son was more of an independent male and he'd allowed Teme to do as he wished.

In the meantime, Saul had managed to spend as much time with Lilin as possible and he was revelling in their openness. They had consciously made an effort to keep their relationship a secret... until a few days ago when he'd announced their mateship. It had been exhillerating, the feeling of freedom and lightness. He'd even caught Temeraire's soft kiss to Lilin's hand and he'd given his mate and encouraging grin when she'd noticed. Right now, it seemed life was beginning to fall into place, fitting together like a puzzle piece. He was happy, that much was certain.

The barking howl that rose from the borders interrupted his training with Hermes. Since the stallions near broken leg weeks ago, Saul had been spending some time building the leg back up again and making sure the horse stayed away from Mai. With a smile, he slipped the head collar off the dark horse and allowed him into the pasture before taking off towards the borders. It took him perhaps ten minutes to locate the callers and he emerged from the trees, taking a deep breath to alleviate the pants. Good afternoon sirs. These are the borders of Vinátta- I'm Saul one of the leaders. Can I help? He asked, tone polite while posture held the natural dominance he carried himself with.

yeah

Amaury was excited about the idea of joining a pack. Perhaps there were better ones than the one he was about to join now, more suited to him. But Amaury didn't care, the idea of loyalty beyond that which was automatically expected was something he was eager to see. And the fact that he was nearing becoming skin and bones was another pushing point. He'd never learnt to hunt that well and while he had caught a few rabbits the rations were few and far between. Blue eyes blinked in the setting sunlight, turning to regard a pair or orange orbs higher up, those of his brother.

Bi coloured ears flickered towards a male's voice in surprise, both at the sudden appearance and by the fact himself and his brother had been refereed to as 'sirs'. Even in South Africa he'd not been treated with such respect. Tan ears belonging to Luuk flickered in surprise too and both brothers shared a look before the younger one, Amaury, spoke. 'Uh. Heita. We're lookin' ta join. Dat kid, uh, Teme told us 'bout here...' he said un surely, mainly because his speech lack the comforting slang he would have used in any other situation.

Saul Lupus is by Alaine!

Saul could see that the pair were both young and perhaps a little unsure of themselves. He was surprised to see little nervousness in their postures however, he supposed that meant that the two were certainly confident. The Virding allowed an easy smile to tug his lips up, catching the look between the pair. He often got a pang of longing for his brothers when he witnessed such interactions. Niernan and Bran were the worst for setting off memories- while he and Gideon hadn't been as bad as the Irish pair, they'd certainly been close to one another.

It was the smaller of the two who answered and Saul was slightly taken aback at the strong accented words. For a moment, he was sure they were completely foreign, before english registered and he nodded softly. Of course, what he hadn't thought on was the mention of his son- he knew of no other in his pack with a name that sounded similar to his sons. Curiosity crossed his face as he considered their words, before he gave another nod. Temeraire is my son. He informed them, before their words actually registered and he smiled.

Perhaps we could start with your names? And where you've come from? Where are your family... I haven't heard an accent like yours, you must be a long way from home? Saul questioned, his words aimed at trying to get some kind of backstory on the pair beside him. Green eyes looked towards them curiously, wondering if it would be the smaller of the two who answered again.

Amaury's ears flickered towards the man's words. Shit... He'd practically just grassed the kid up to his own Dad. Granted the African didn't really know the relation between the two until Saul spoke so it wasn't his fault, but Amaury was kind and considerate that way, he took the blame onto himself when he thought he'd done wrong. 'Uh yeah. Sorry if he came back boarded off or anythin'. I tol' him ta watch himself on the bricks an' h kinda slipped. Said he fine an' all...' the pied male traded off quietly, his ears flattening against his skull. He probably hadn't needed to waffle on about what the kid had got up to in his little excursion, but Amaury could hardly help it.

Saul moved on and Amaury smiled as he was greeted by questions he could answer. 'I'm Amaury, Amaury de Jong. And this is my brother Luuk'. That was simple enough. Now about home. 'Uh South Africa' Amaury answered, followed by Luuk, 'Over da seas, ja'. 'Der weren't nuffin for us back der an' all, fought we'd come here an' see...' Blue eyes flickered around, but his pose remained confident. Because he'd never had anything knock it before.

Saul Lupus is by Alaine!

It was with surprise that Saul watched the piebald males ears flash against his head, the subtle wince that told Saul all he'd needed to know. The male hadn't meant to mention Temeraire, especially not to his own father. Of course, the male couldn't have known that the two were related- they looked nothing alike and a good handful of Vinátta's members shared the Stormbringer family name. Cinnamon backed ears flashed forward, catching the males stumbled words, an apology of some sort. Snorting softly, Saul shook his head slightly. Temeraire lived on his own now, even if had been only a few days since his sons departure of the family home. He supposed it was only a matter of time before he began wandering outside of their borders.

Its not a problem- he made it back unharmed as far as I'm aware. Saul allowed, although he made a mental note to go and find the boy later. He might be able to shift now, but he had no idea how to defend himself and he'd never really been warned about the dangers out there. Green eyes caught blue for a moment before the smaller of the two introduced himself as Amaury de Jong and then took the liberty of introducing his brother, Luuk. A pleasure to meet you both. Saul commented, catalouging the males names for future reference.

He listened then as Amaury stated where they'd come from, Luuk's short comment making Saul nod. He didn't really have any idea where these places were, other than the fact that they were far away and practically unobtainable to him. He listened though, as Amaury continued to explain that there wasn't anything out there for them and that they'd come here. It was an acceptable and reasonable excuse and Saul accepted it with a smile and a nod. I can imagine being so far away from home would be a bit daunting. He commented, before allowing another question to roll forth. My second question pertains to your use to Vinátta. What skills do you possess that we can use? We are a close knit family and we do not accept slackers. You need to be able to pull your weight. He asked, looking towards Amaury first, as he seemed the more dominant of the two.

Amaury nodded and let out a slightly nervous chuckle, despite his body remaining a statue of confidence. 'Ja, ja. S'kinda funny, but 'cha get over it afta a bit. Food ent easier ta come by do...' he trailed off shaking his head, slightly amusing. He found it much easer to make the worry his hunger caused him with mild amusement. 'But as I sed. Der weren't nuffin much for us back home' Amaury commented, but as interrupted by the gruffer male. 'Aint nuffin good on da streets...' The pied male nodded along. 'Family biz didn't seem fun. Don't fancy standin' 'round all day looking at graze, ja?' His words became hinted with more of the African accent as he became more at ease, more of the coloured slang dropped in too.

'Don't worry 'bout nuffin, china!' Amaury said enthusiastically. 'We ent no naafi's. We'll get right ta werk, ja'. The pair pondered for a moment before replying to the question. 'Eh. Well. We can cook a bit. An' hunt a bit. Tho it aint nuffin ta boast 'bout. We can do piercin's' he said, flicking his own studded ear. 'We can do a bit 'a cultivatin'. Mostly, uh, 'medicines' an' all. An' we don't mind heavy work or learnin' either!' He took a deep breath as he finished, suddenly animated again.

Saul Lupus is by Alaine!

It seemed that the longer he spent listening to the two males speak, to more he understood of what they were actually saying. At first it had been difficult trying to decipher exactly what was being conveyed to him, but his brain seemed to understand the words and slowly he'd begun to understand more. He gave both of them a soft nod and a smile at Amaury's words- he supposed that was the way with anything in life. Once something had changed, it was impossible to go back and one simply had to get used to the future. He was glad the pair had landed on their feet at least- they both seemed confident and content canines. He listened, cinnamon backed ears twitching, as Amaury and Luuk described what it had been like at home and while Saul had never really encountered that problem, he empathised.

Getting out seems like the much better option now then. I'm glad you've found your way. Saul offered, tail swinging easily back and forth. His next question was met with an enthusiastic response and Saul couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his mouth. Of course, he paid attention now and was surprised to learn that the pair could cool. The flicker of Amaury's ear highlighted the studs that glinted in the sun and he nodded, accepting these explanations of skills as if offerings. He was glad to hear they had an interest in manual work, or at least that was how it sounded. I'm certain we can put you to use somewhere in Vinátta Saul chuckled, mirth twinkling in dark green depths.

He was happy that the two were genuine and they seemed good enough of spirit. It was also a known fact that Saul was willing to give others a chance and with another grin, Saul indicated for the two to come forward. If you'd like to follow me, the two of you may choose a house you'd like in Jordheim... Although you're more than welcome to set up camp anywhere in our borders. He said, thinking only now that it was possible some might not want to settle in the earthern houses. Still, it was there choice and with another beckon forward, Saul turned back towards Jordheim, hoping the pair would follow.

'Ja, ja!' Amaury agree, getting a sense he was welcome to slope back into his mildly riddled speech as Saul seemed to understand more of his South African slang ridden speech. 'Was thinkin' a' stayin' out on our own. But we ent no hunt'as... Weren't really taught dat an' all...' he admitted freely, running a hand up the back of his neck casually. Luuk shifted his weight behind him, but said nothing, only nodding in agreement to his brother's words. 'Family biz was food, so da werker's hunted and we took some of the kill an' sold da rest. Neva went 'ungry at least, e?' Amaury shook his head in quiet chuckles, blue eyes flicking up to Saul.

'Jordheim?' Amaury repeated, 'Dat where all da people live, ja?' He wasn't shy and in his mind it was better to live at the centre of the pack. The hub of the membership. And so if that was the main housing estate of sorts, that's where Amaury would reside. Luuk would have probably wanted something more secluded, but he didn't speak up so Amaury continued. 'Yeah. Fink we'll settle down there then' he smiled.

Saul Lupus is by Alaine!

As the trio moved towards the inner circle of the pack, Saul found the piebald man chattering away and he found that he quite liked how amiable the pair were. It was clear that Luuk was the much quieter of the pair, offering only a few comments here and there. Amaury on the other hand seemed more than content to chat away and Saul felt a smile tugging his lips. Despite his worry at his sons secret excursions from Vinátta, he could now see that Teme had been safe with Amaury and he found he was rather glad that Temeraire had mentioned Vinátta to him. He could perhaps feel that Amaury and Luuk would fit in well here, they were certainly something different. Saul concentrated on what the male was saying- his words about his family business was a little odd to the Stormbringer, but he supposed they were from completely different backgrounds.

We all try and help out now and again in Vinátta, although a lot of the time its eating what you can find at the time. We have pack hunts though, so its not too bad. Saul offered, trying to relate their experiences to his own. He supposed that Amaury's family sounded more like a community than a family. The foreign word coming from Amaury was familiar and he nodded softly at the questioning lilt to their villages name. The question was met with a smile, before Saul added- Yeah, the majority of the pack reside in Jordheim. He offered, although he was trying to think of a single canine who did not claim a residence. The decisive words from Amaury made Saul chuckle softly. You and your brother are welcome to pick any unclaimed house to live in. Saul offered as they approached the humped houses, shrouded in trees.

Soon enough they would have a village hall to store things like the welcome gifts Saul went for now. Entering his own house, he gathered two bundles together before exiting and presenting both canines with the bundles. Both contained a bottle of wine, a hunting knife and a dagger and the customary Frithr necklace. Amaury's contained two fox pelts and the traditional deer pelt that wrapped the bundle together. Luuk's contained a two rabbit pelts and a silky soft ermine pelt, alongside the deer pelt. Welcome to Vinátta, Amaury and Luuk. You are free to choose any house, I'll leave you two to pick. He said, happy to allow them to wander around Jordheim for as long as they needed. With a last nod to both of them, Saul moved back towards his house, knowing there was something he'd been doing before he'd welcomed two more into their ranks.
