[J] Lonely No More

out of character text

The gentle giant from across the ocean was finally on his way somewhere, this somewhere be where he would hopefully call home. Vinatta. He'd heard talk from passing Luperci on his endless travels to find a home. He was told it was a place where all were accepted and welcomed into their ranks. This was the kind of place he had dreamed of and now he was headed there with high spirits. Moss was tired of being lonely aside from the scattered interactions with others along the way. Eilam wasn't great company. The docile spirit often flooded Moss's mind with awful memories of his past and very rarely, a happy memory. But, good memories were nearly non existent in the tattered spirit's life.

The rust colored man walked with a smile adorning his face and his pack over his shoulder as well as a few rabbits he would share with the members of Vinatta. He could smell the many scents of the members of Vinatta as he drew closer to their borders. Soon, he would see faces that he would eventually call family and that thought alone made his heart swell. Moss finally stopped where the scent was the strongest and looked past the borders. He couldn't really see much but plants and earth, but he knew that beyond here there was a society dwelling. A relieved chuckle rumbled his chest as he threw his head back. After he took a deep breath, he released a long and yearning howl. It told of how he wanted to be a part of a family and how happy he was to be standing here. Hopefully he wouldn't be waiting long before someone showed up. But, until then he sat himself on the ground and simply smiled across the border, waiting patiently for acceptance.

As he sat, he hummed a melody from his homeland. Eilam was sitting beside him, smiling over at his spirited friend though he would quickly disappear whenever someone showed up. The dark coated spirit sang along with Moss as they waited. This was the happiest Moss had been since he came to Nova Scottia and he hadn't even been accepted yet.

hope you dont mind me setting this later in the day, thorn's joining thread is on the 28th as well so for timelines sake its easier if this is set later on!

With the sudden and almost overwhelming influx of joiners, the Stormbringer Virding had been busy the last couple of days. It seemed that when things happened, they managed to come all at once. His mateship to Lilin had been the focal point of the last couple of weeks, permeated only by his sadness that his son had finally shifted and had decided to move out. Temeraire was an independent soul however and Saul had accepted his sons decision on the promise that Teme wouldn't become distant from them. Lilin had agreed to move into Saul's lonely house when Teme had gone and they'd spent two days moving her possessions from her old house to his. She'd been uncharacteristically tired, despite the heavy lifting and Saul was worried about his mate.

After showing Thorn into Jordheim, presenting him with the little pack of gifts and allowing the male to choose a residence of his liking, Saul had returned to his own house to make up a few more packs. He often sat and carved the little wooden Thor's hammers and threaded them onto cords for the Frithr necklaces and the furs were taken from kills of the pack. It was painfully obvious however that the stash of wine they'd found a few months ago was dwindling and Saul knew that there soon would be none left. The knives included in the packs were also dwindling and Saul thought they'd have to search Amherst once again to replenish their stores.

Sitting in his house making some kind of itinerary of what he was going to have to do, he almost missed the hopeful howl from the borders. Still, cinnamon backed ears refused to miss the call and Saul jumped up, an incredulous look on his face. Two new members in one day was strange, but he wasn't complaining. With a quick call to Lilin, he exited the house and moved towards the borders, trying to locate the source of the call. It took him about a quarter of an hour to locate the caller and emerged to find a rusty coloured male sat by the borders. "Good evening sir. These are the borders of Vinátta and I'm Saul Stormbringer, one of the leaders. Can I help?" He delivered the practised and well used line, feeling a strong sense of de ja vu of having to say these words twice in one day. His tone was polite, posture dominant as he waited for an answer from the male.
