she's waiting like an iceberg

She did not take Jack on her expedition today - the bouncing on his back would make her feel ill, and she wanted some time to herself to get to Casa di Cavalieri not as quickly as she would if she had been riding. As she walked, she pondered - she felt ashamed still, but never let it show. It was a fact of life, the tiny life inside of her, and she would carry on with her own life in a normal fashion - as normal as it could be.

She was visibly pregnant now - she wasn't bulging, and it was not a burden to her movements or skills, but it was apparent that the woman was pudgier than before, having a belly that could either have meant that she just ate a large meal, or she had pups inside of her. As she walked up to the borders of the ally pack, she hesitated, but just for a moment - immediately, without allowing herself any moments to hesitate, she lifted her muzzle to the sky and let out a long, loud howl for Jazper.

OOC:

What started out as a lazy grey day had ended up being quite eventful. As he left the Courthouse he flinched walking down the stairs. After the cougar attack he had insisted that Aly come with him to get medical help from Hadley. Now he found himself in very familiar situation, white bandages wrapped around his chest soaking in the medicated and washed cuts across his back and leaving him stiff and sore. It frustrated him when he got injured and had to be more careful but his current injuries were certainly not the worst he had experienced, which was obvious from the large claw mark scar that traveled from the top of his right shoulder down to his left hip.

Injuries were nothing new but a call from the boarders startled him. Why would Skye be calling for him? With returning howl and a reluctant sign he started to jog, his body aching in disagreement as he went. The two leader’s friendship had just started to blossom. The trade trip had set them on the right path, their packs services making for an easy blend and alliance. At the ball they had presented each other with gifts and even danced. But it was their last encounter that rang strong in Jazper’s mind. He wasn’t sure if he regretted it. They were both lonely wolves who wanted comfort and to feel the touch of someone who cared. It had been good for both of them but he wasn’t sure how it would affect their relationship.

It took him some time to reach her as his body was freshly wounded and ached but at last he arrived with as much of a smile as he could gather. “Sorry I took so long. Had to throw myself between a member and a cougar this morning.” He chuckled to make light of the situation. Putting himself between someone and danger was somewhat of a lifestyle for Jazper and he knew he would do it again, though he wished he didn’t have to go through the pain afterwards. The few extra pounds didn’t go unnoticed by the Knight but he didn’t comment on it, knowing damn well not to comment on a women’s size, but in his mind he wondered if Skye’s loneliness had led to over eating.

Not before long, she heard the returning call of the tall, dark Sole. She felt a slight sickness in her stomach, although whether it was from the normal illness of pregnancy or the nervousness and anxiety that would come from the ensuing conversation with the alpha, she did not know. She found herself reflecting on their relationship - although she felt ashamed of her moments of weakness, she did not regret sharing her emotions with the alpha. She found him a very good friend, a close friend now that they had shared something so intimate together. They had more in common than she had first thought - the sole leaders of their packs, both allied, both left alone from their mates. She found that he was someone that she could confide in - something that was rare for her lately.

As he came into view, her first thoughts went to the various wounds and bruises around his body. She wasn't expecting it - she was slightly startled at his visage, unsure of whether it was a brawl or simply a sparring lesson. He approached closer, finally coming to the border, where she looked him in the eye, although it was hard to do with him being so much taller than her.

His story about a cougar surprised her, although she remembered back not too long ago when Jace and her had had to fight off a bear from invading the town. "Are you seriously hurt?" she asked genuinely - yes, she had to tell him what happened, but she also didn't want him dying on the borders. That would be bad.

Jazper explained more about the attack and that he wasn't seriously hurt, and Skye told him that she was pregnant.
