Goddaughter

I wrote you a story xD

Amy was a short distance away from Anathema's borders. A good enough distance that the crows were silent, but close enough that she could see the borders, and her howl would be heard when she called. She wasn't here for trouble. Amy's goddaughter was old enough to come to the borders now, and she was eager to see how the sweet jewel was doing. Gifts had been prepared for the young pup, same as they were every time she neared Anathema, and dropped off to be delivered.

Her tail swayed languidly as she looked them over. A wooden wolf, each limb carefully hinged. It had cost her a lot to get such a detailed toy, trading some of her plants, poisons, and several jewels for it. A small otter's pelt was there as well, fitted specifically for a pup. She even had a small ruby coated choker for the pup. It would hang like a necklace with how young the pup was, but soon enough the pup would grow, and it would fit snugly around her neck. A tiny jar of sleeping powder was there as well for the pup to play with. Lifting her head she called for Bridget, eager to see her and present the gifts.

OOC here!

Kohaku was not having a good day. Far from it, in fact. His slave had been stolen from him by a very large looking wolf, a fact that Kohaku really hated. He had finally gotten a slave of his own, but more importantly, Alastar had been his playmate. But that wolf had taken her from him and he was saddened by the loss. On top of that, his body hurt due to the massive growth spurt that he had entered and his gums pained him because he was teething. However, those worries were nothing compared to the news they had received. Kohaku wasn't entirely sure what was going on, but a black wolf had told Amy that someone wanted to kill her. What was he supposed to do with that information? He didn't want to see Amy killed! All and all, not a good day.

The five month old trudged along beside Amy. In his mouth was a well chewed bone, one that the teething puppy chewed on almost constantly. His head was as low as his tail and he walked as close to Amy as possible. Occasionally, he would look up to her, green eyes trying to figure out what she was thinking. In her hands were a variety of objects, most meant for puppies to play with. He knew they weren't for him, although he had attempted to get a close look at them when Amy's back had been turned.

Without ceremony, the caravan stopped far from the boarders of a pack. Kohaku couldn't quite remember what it was called, but they had visited it several times during his travels with Amy. Defeated, the puppy sat down pawed at the bone in his mouth as his caretaker called out to the pack.

Managed to recover Lullaby's

Bridget
The caves were so confusing, left could bring you to the storage hall. Where left could bring you back to where you live, one wrong turn and you’re lost all over again. This was something that seemed to happen a lot lately, being just a child she would get lost easily. Luckily with all her noise making she grabbed the attention of one of the adults but they seemed reluctant to help her find her way to the surface, after all she was just a child and it was never safe for a little pup to wander alone.

After a bit of time she got the adult to let her go, showing her to where the sun had shown. The place she called the roofless room. Out here she felt she could breathe better, her tiny lungs expanded with each breath like the tasteless air was a drug. And man was she addicted to it, obnoxious yips and barks escaped her lips as she let her changing eyes wander from grass to sky, to even a nearby raven. It wasn’t long before she was running through the trees, kicking up grass with each step. It wasn’t until she heard a howl, her body halted and stiffened as if her mother caught her getting into her stuff. But it wasn’t her mother, this sound was different. Something that seemed to be a calling, in it she heard her name.

Who was this? How did they know her? Well that was almost obvious to the pup, a lot of people in the caves knew her. Every voice had a name, and none of them fit this call. Her mismatched eyes had a look of confusion as she slowly started walking towards the sound, unsure of the safety the action would bring her. So many things had started to change with her, already she was getting bigger but her brother was bigger. Stronger, better than her. Her eyes looked different, when she caught her reflections she noticed that one of her eyes was starting to change. Right now it was just strange color of a murky golden color, but why only one eye? It was the same with D’ryn but her mother had blue eyes, why did they have one eye changing?

Shaking her head she focused on her destination, her ears fell down as she felt uncomfortable. The sound of a few of the crows caused her to jump slightly but she shook the feeling off. Finally someone came into view, a woman. Her fur was golden and a pup much bigger than Bridge sat with a bone in his mouth. The question reentered her mind, how did she know her? Slowly she walked closer to the woman her eyes eyeing her cautiously stopping out of her reach, just in case she needed to run. ’ho you, ‘ow you ‘now me? She asked with curiosity, she still had difficulty speaking her w’s but her words were clear. Her speech was still very childish but she would always get her point agross with her actions, her ears laid low on her skull and her head was tilted in question. She needed to know who this woman was and why she called her.

Amy
Amy ignored the glances Kohaku was shooting her. He didn't need to worry about her plans. She had everything under control. Really, for him to take that threat seriously! Amy's tail thumped, watching as a small pup finally came into view. She was so young, and very beautiful. Just as pretty as Amy had known she'd turn out. Amy had selected her goddaughter well. She was brave, walking right up to the borders with only the slightest hesitation.

Crouching down she smiled at the child, listening to the questions. Hello, Bridget. You don't need to worry. I'm your godmother. My name's Amy. I brought some gifts for you. Amy placed the wooden toy on the ground first, setting it up for the pup to sniff at. The pelt she moved to drape over the small pup's body, hoping she wouldn't startle. The last two she held out in her hands for the pup to look at.

Bridget
Who were these people, where they friend or were they foe? Maybe coming outside today was not the greatest of ideas, and if she stayed out here for too long she was sure her mother would worry. After all she was the smaller of the two in her litter, weaker than her brother and her fake siblings. Though in her mind and heart she was strong, her strength was not shown on her outer shell. And yet, yet she felt as f she was suppose to be afraid of the golden canine but she felt none of this. If anything she felt a strange attachment to her and a longing to know who she was.

Her paws moved again, crossing the invisible boarder that separated her home, her safety, to the world of the unknown. Again she stopped, still out of reach as she watched the woman crouch down to be close to the same height as her. The woman’s voic was sweet, gentle as she said her name. She was her godmother, whatever that was. Godmother? ‘hat that? She questioned before stepping closer to sniff at the wooden wolf that Amy set before her, was this hers to keep?

The woman moved, closer as she tried to do something with a material that she had in her hands. Instead of jumping she just gazed up at her with two toned eyes, questioning her actions, but she was answered by the blanket like thing to be draped over her. Bridget’s eyes widened in surprise as she yipped happily to see that it was something she could wear, she was really starting to like this Amy woman. These ‘or me? She squeaked out her question, now walking up to the woman completely. Her thoughts of safety flying out of her mind as she examined the red necklace, pocking her nose at Amy’s hand. Finally her eyes moved from her treasures to the larger pup, question filling her expression as she tilted her head at him. ’ho you?

Kohaku
More than anything, Kohaku resented Amy paying attention to a puppy other than him. He was keenly aware that Amy wasn't his real mother and the the only thing that tied the two together was his mother's abandonment. Kohaku resented his mother, hating that she had given him away. However, Amy had taken him in and was teaching him so many wonderful things. She treated him well, and there were times that Kohaku really wished he was her son. Even so, the young male was afraid that even Amy would one day abandon him.

The one who came at Amy's call was a puppy, very young and still wobbly on her feet. She couldn't even talk right. Kohaku eyed her with displeasure, realizing that all the wonderful gifts were meant for her. Who was she and why was Amy giving her gifts. Frustrated, Kohaku chewed even harder on his bone, causing a weak point to crack loudly. Unfazed, the boy continued to chew on his bone and tried to act like he didn't really care one way or another. But quick glances up to Amy easily gave his true feelings away.

Amy had called herself the tan female's godmother. What was that? Was that like a real mother? The thoughts stewed inside his head, swirling and growing. The female's questioned echoed in Kohaku's mind, almost mimicking his own. As Amy presented the gifts, Kohaku looked away. He didn't want to see Amy give away things to a stranger. His ears drooped and his tail lay still on the ground. It wasn't until the younger pup asked who he was that Kohaku looked back at her.

Remembering his training, Kohaku dropped the bone and smiled at her. It hurt to smile for her, but he had to do it anyways. "I'm Kohaku, a prince."

Amy
Kohaku's jealousy was noticed. Amy smiled, thinking about her plan for their mateship. They would come together in time. For now, she would work on making sure that Bridget prepared for the same lessons that Kohaku was already benefiting from. Asked what a godmother was Amy's tail wagged behind her. It means I'm to protect you. I'll help your wishes come true. I'll help you know what to do. You just need to howl for me if you need me.

Nodding her head Amy chuckled softly. Yes, they're all for you. She petted the pup's soft head, and slipped the beautiful choker around her neck. The powder she placed on the ground. This is if anyone tries to hurt you when I'm not around. Just use this, and they won't bother you anymore. They'd be fast asleep. Amy smiled over at Kohaku, reaching over and petting him gently. He shall be your mate one day.

Bridget
Questions bounced off the walls in her mind, questions she wanted to ask. Things she wanted to know, why hadn’t her momma told her about her godmother? After all the golden canine said she was to protect her and teach her things, why wouldn’t Ayasha tell her? Feelings inside her fluttered as she look from the golden woman to the larger child, so they were her family too. They were like Rin and Ryo, someone who was not related to her but she would accept them as her family just as much as the two smaller puppies.

Her eyes moved back to the larger child, chewing on his bone only to snap it and cause her to jump at the loud cracking sound. The white child tilted her head once more as he dropped his bone then smiled at her, speaking in name and saying a title. A prince! Her tail began to become a blur as it wagged back and forth, her legs bringing her slightly closer to him. Maybe she could be a princess that would be grand. Ko’aku ‘he prince! She squeaked as Amy placed a beautiful red jeweled necklace on her. Before long she was looking at the necklace that seemed a bit large for her, maybe she could grow into it.

The girl moved, letting the sun dance off the crimson jewels. They were so pretty, she just wanted to stare at them for hours but Amy’s voice came back. She looked at the jar she showed here, how she was going to get that back as going to be a challenge but what it was for made her smile. She could protect herself when her godmother was not around, just by giving the powder to them but what did it do to them? She did not wish o hurt them so what did it do?

Her question faded as she looked at Amy with her two toned eyes, watching as she looked at Kohaku and pettem him gentle. Her words made her ears pirk up, tilting her head thoughtfully. He was to be her mate one day, wasn’t that like what her momma and daddy were? She steped one more paw closer to him, yippign very softly at him. Hping he would like her for that to happen. M’ mate? her eyes filled with wonder before looking back at Amy, moving closer to her once more. This woman was wonderful in her innocent mind, she already felt attached to her.. even after these few moments. ’an I be princess? she asked in a soft voice, she wanted to be like the larger pup. He was a prince and she would be a princess.

Green eyes watched as Bridget flinched when he snapped the bone. How week she was to be scared by a little crack. It wasn't even as loud as thunder, which he wasn't scared of anymore. Or, at least, that is what he told himself. Breaking the bone hadn't been on purpose of course. He was frustrated that Amy was paying attention to her and not him. That his caretaker was lavishing her with toys and gifts while he had only a bone and a scar. Now his bone was broken.

Kohaku's opinion of the little female changed a little as she brightened when he said he was a prince. Her tail whipped around and she stepped a little closer, bi-colored eyes shinning happily. That was more like it. Even if she couldn't say his name properly, he liked her enthusiasm. Kohaku's smile became more natural and his own tail began to wag.

Amy's large hand pushed gently against his back and Kohaku lifted his head too look at Amy. The colorful boy loved it during the rare times that Amy petted him. Her hands felt wonderful against his back and his mouth parted to let his tongue hand out in a goofy smile. Kohaku started to whine happily, but the whine was swallowed when Amy announced that he and Bridget were going to be mates. Say what?

Emerald eyes became saucers as he stared at Amy, mouth gapping in surprise. He tried to say something, but the words wouldn't come, so his mouth just flapped uselessly. To make things worse, the little female seemed to actually like the idea. Girls were so gross. Kohaku scuttled back as her mismatched eyes stared at him and she moved forward. He shook his head violently and ran behind Amy. "No way, na-ah, not happenin'. I can't be mates with her! She's, well... she's a girl and girls are gross. I refuse to be mates with her! She can go be a princess with someone else." It wasn't that Kohaku disliked her, well he did, but not cus she was bad or anything. Girls were just really gross and he wanted nothing to do with them.

Bridget jumped as the bone cracked, not that Amy was particularly pleased with that. It wasn't too loud, but she had to be patient. She was still very young after all. It was easy to see in the way she pranced around, playing with the way the light reflected off the rubies. Kohaku watched Amy, all smiles as she petted him. He was different from Bridget, in how he was raised and the lessons she taught him. They were both hers though, and would be used accordingly.

Amy laughed softly, tugging gently on Bridget's ear. Yes, your mate. You'll be a princess. And someday, a queen. Her gaze turned to Kohaku expectantly, letting her know she expected him to not just remain a prince, but become a king and a leader, powerful in his actions. Kohaku ran behind Amy, vehemently protesting the idea. Laughing Amy looked over to him, her eyes cruel in their gaze. You shall be. Girls won't always be gross, and I don't want you to become mates with someone who isn't worthy.
