The slim jackal trotted along the borders, the spiked skulls rising like pillars over her. Her beloved pet crept through her fur, slithering from her back to her neck, where he lay writhing in pleasure. The dark Lykoi herself was also in a good mood - the biting cold of winter long gone, the dry heat of summer enveloped her and her snake like a blanket, leaving her reminiscent of her mother country.

"Are you comfortable, my friend?" she questioned the snake, almost to herself. The bright sun beat down on her dark fur; to some, it would be uncomfortable at least, and unbearable at most. To her, however, it felt like home - where others with thick coats and large bodies would have to stay inside or in the shade, the slim, dark jackal was free to walk upon the moor in the sun.

She scouted the borders, her large, cupped ears like radars, catching any stray sound that happened her way. She took sips of air through her nose, filtering out the scents that caught on the wind - dust, grass, and forested areas up north. It had been quieter, as of late - ever since the Boreas wolves were defeated, and after Ezekiel stepped down to allow Myrika to take his place, nothing of great interest had happened. However, that would not prevent it from happening - and so she scouted the borders, ready to defend, or at least to warn.

I guess you can put a summary post up now for the one lost? And I'll do one for the one I lost, and then we'll be caught up in this thread Smile / +445

Helotes was out with his children once more, but this time Timori was also tagging along. The boy had grown considerably in the past months, and especially now that he could shift. Helotes had noticed that, despite the sudden arrival of his father and the just as sudden disappearance of both he and Zana, Timori was still comfortable with Helotes’ company. This filled the Lykoi male with pride and gratitude, for he considered Timori like a son, and was relying on him more and more now that the puppies were growing.

The two male hybrids walked side by side as the pups ran about them like little whirlwinds. They spoke amiably about nothing in particular, though Timori was once again pushing the subject of training on Helotes. The Hydra was willing to give the de le Poer male training, but wanted to wait until Basilio and Azucena were older; the wait was absolutely killing Timori, who felt useless. Helotes had reassured him that he was anything but, that he could not have done as well as he had in the past couple weeks without him. This encouragement seemed to soothe Timori’s impatience.
The family was heading towards the borders for no particular reason, though Helotes felt a bit of scouting might be a good opportunity to teach his children stealth, though he knew the only reason they weren’t complaining about walking in the hot sun was because they would get to see the painting skulls. Helotes smiled as the two of them run ahead; they were getting so big… well, at least Azucena was, Basilio would be forever cursed to live within his pygmy form, but that didn’t seem to bother him in the least bit.

As the family came up over a grassy knoll, Helotes spotted a figure ahead; it was a female, a lithe figure with a splash of crimson across her snout, nearly the same color as his own. He and Timori glanced at each other and the younger man nodded and gave a shrill whistle. The two Lykoi children turned on their heels and went back to their adopted brother and he held them back as Helotes continued towards the woman, Hello cousin. He said amiably, because he knew she had to be one, most likely another grandchild of Kaena’s. Now that he was closer, he saw the Lykoi star tattooed on her breast, and he subconsciously touched his own. The placement of it reminded him of Halo, and she looked similar to the now broken woman, as well as Enkiel, who had left with Ezekiel; they were more likely closer related to each other then he might be to her.

i actually saved this one ^^ but yeah! you write a summary and i think we're all caught up :O

She took another breath through her nose, now smelling the distinct scent of another member of the Clan. Taking another breath, and eventually hearing the steps of her kin with her large ears, she determined that it was not one, but many. She turned her head to the sights and sounds and saw a tall, dark figure, with three smaller figures surrounding him. One more sniff told her that it was not just a Clan member, but a Lykoi - most likely one of her many cousins. As he approached even closer, she saw his dark fur, his red nose, and the chaos star clearly tattooed on his left shoulder.

"Helotes," she said respectfully, dipping her head to the higher ranked Hydra. She had just returned only a few months ago, and did not truly know all the new faces that has surfaced while she was gone, or even the ones that had been there before she even left. Although she did not trust many, however, she still wished to belong to the Clan in full - simply knowing names and ranks did not satisfy her.

She looked past Helotes to his companions - she did not fully recognize the lighter of the trio, but the others she could identify as Helotes's children. Sepirah then refocused her gaze on Helotes, who towered above her as her pet snake writhed around her neck, finally resting his head on Sepirah's own.

"What are you doing out on this summer day?" she asked, a facade of innocence and amiability in her tone and on her face, her eyes light and cheerful.

This is a summary to make up for the post lost:

Helotes asks Sephirah for her name and then says that he's just taking the family out for a stroll, that his children enjoy seeing the skulls Smile

Her face fell only slightly when he said that he did not recall her name - but she quickly smiled once more, so that it was imperceptible that she had ever been unhappy to begin with. She supposed she couldn't blame Helotes for not knowing who she was - she had left and reentered Inferni so many times, being scarce when she was in the Clan at all, almost afraid of being rejected by the Clan that was so gracious to accept her back so many times. She needed to make something of herself now that she was back for good, needed to make a name for herself.

"I am Sepirah Lykoi," she told the man, sporting a faux innocent smile that said nothing but naivety. The snake around her neck and shoulders hissed softly. She listened as he explained that he was simply out for a walk with his children, who enjoyed seeing the skulls. She absentmindedly glanced upward, where a wolf skull was spiked on a tall pole, painted in blood red paint.

"Don't we all?" she joked morbidly. The skulls were something of a point of interest for Inferni, more to intimidate others from other packs and clans than to make a point within the coyotes of Inferni. However, they were quite decorative, even though others in the clan may disagree with it. "Perhaps someday they'll put up their own additions on the borders," she said wryly, a smile painted on her face.

When she spoke her name, a spark of recognition grew in his mind. Now that he thought about it, he had heard her name spoken by the many tongues of the clan, he was surprised he hadn’t remembered such a lovely name, especially when it was matched to so beautiful a face. Helotes actually found this Sepirah quite attractive, especially since her coat so mirrored his own. But the disappearance of Zana was still fresh on his heart, and after the comments of others he felt that he might never search for intimacy within his family ever again.

He smirked as she commented on the skulls and how perhaps his children would add to them someday, Oh, I’m sure they will, in one way or another. his voice trailed off when suddenly a ruckus could be heard. He turned to see that his children had somehow managed to knock over one of the pikes and were currently wrestling over who got the chance to play with the downed skull. Of course, a worried and frustrated Timori was already in the midst of righting the pike, and he looked over at Helotes with an apologetic face. The Lykoi male laughed, Ah, what a wonderful handful. He turned back to Sepirah, Do you have children? He didn’t recall seeing her with pups, but perhaps there had been some in the past. Either way, it would be a shame if she didn’t have offspring, she was so lovely to look at, her children would surely be the same.

She grinned wryly at his remark. It was true - most of the coyotes of Inferni, in some way or another, had been involved in fights and spats with wolves, almost their enemies. She would say that without at least half of the members, the skulls wouldn't even exist on their borders - it wasn't too much of a stretch to think that the pups, who were now arguing over who would play with a skull they felled, would contribute to the Clan's decorative yet fierce border with no trouble.

She nodded respectfully as he remarked on his pups. They were adventurous and rambunctious, that was sure. She then shook her head slowly at the man's question.

"I have no children," she said, giving no hint to her emotions, holding a rather neutral - and perhaps shallow - expression. Inside, however, she wondered - she had no children, and no lover. Yet, the man named Caillen had captured her heart like no other had. And yet.. she had not had any time to truly expand her feelings for him, for the man had disappeared. The experience had simply closed her mind and heart further to others, leaving her wondering about the man she could have built a future with.

Wishing to change the subject, she looked over to the pups - one of them, however, seemed much older and larger than the others, hardly able to be called a pup at all, really. "They are all yours?" she asked.

Helotes watched with pride as Basilio, despite his tiny size, was putting up a damn good fight against his much larger sister for the skull. So good in fact, Azucena shook her head in frustrated and let him to it, and he triumphant sprawled his entire pygmy body over the entirety of the skull, panting heavily with a Cheshire grin just like is father’s; Helotes shook his head in wonder.

Sephirah said that she did not have children, and the lack of emotion in her voice was all too familiar; it reminding him immediately of Ilusion, his sister. At a young age, she had miscarried her first and only litter, and now the wounds had healed; for the most part. The way Sephirah had answered that question was much like how Ilusion might have, which meant there was more behind the nonchalant façade, and Helotes knew not to push those buttons. Pity, He said though, crossing his arms, Any children you might have will be stunning. He grinned at her; perhaps he had been a little immature in thinking he might not find intimacy within his family.

Her next question caught him a bit off guard and he had to look over to the trio of young ones back at the pike, which had now been righted again by Timori who was places the skull back atop it. Helotes supposed they all could be his children, but it was a strange bunch; the smokey, much older pup; the fiery female pup; and the small Basilio. Helotes chuckled a bit, The unshifted ones are mine by Zana Avaya Lykoi, the older one is Timori de le Poer; not my son by blood but that matters little; he is my son. This was the first time he had said this out loud, and it sounded somewhat strange and Timori looked up at him at that very moment, almost as if he had heard him, a smile on his youthful face.

sorry for delay!

She watched as the smallest of the pups got the skull rather than the larger one - she supposed she couldn't be too surprised; after all, if he was smaller, he was bound to want to prove himself more than his larger sibling. A strong spirit could not be easily broken, she inferred, and turned back to Helotes with a small smile on her face from the scene.

"Thank you," she said, appearing quite flattered by the compliment. She briefly wondered what pups of hers would look like - but then, she may never have them. He grinned at her and she smiled once more back, wondering who Helotes really was - he seemed to love his pups dearly. She didn't quite remember whose pups they were, but that question was answered quite quickly in his next words.

"A good sentiment," she said. "Family is family, after all." If only her own father, Samael Lykoi, had had the same train of thought when referring to his daughter. The smae could be said for Halo Lykoi, whose disdain for the black-coated jackal was clear. They rejected her, although she still held on to the glimmer of hope that she would one day be accepted by her family. She wondered briefly where Zana was - but decided it was a sensitive subject and let it go. "And it looks like one of them is a warrior already," she said with a small grin, eyeing the smallest pup.

Helotes looked to Sepirah as she made the comment about Basilio and couldn’t help but laugh, Oh yes, he may be small of body but not of heart. It seems he inherited both his mother’s and my own fire. I don’t think anything is going to stop him. It was true, Basilio seemed to have a fire within his tiny belly that was unquenchable; he would be a force to be reckoned with as an adult. His mother had always had the added benefit of a disguise in her small frame, those who would seek to destroy her thought it easy, but Zana was not to be trifled with, and neither would Basilio be.

The kids finally came over to meet Sepirah, the two small puppies looking up at her with bright eyes, pink tongues lolling out of their smiling faces. Timori was a little more demure and bowed his head slightly to the taller woman. Then unceremoniously, Basilio piped up, "There’s a snake in your hair!" Like it was the darndest thing he had ever seen. Azucena was quick to push against him, "It’s a pet, stupid." and Basilio turned to his sister with a fierce puppy growl.

Helotes chuckled again, Now, now, settle down Niño’s. He looked to Sepirah then, It is a pleasure to have met you, cousin, please do not hesitate to find me at the mansion any time. And with their goodbyes said, the family departed the borders for new adventures, or, a quick trip home for dinner.
