OOC:This is what the ring looks like: http://meaningofflower-s.com/wp-content/up...ment-rings1.jpg

This was it. He couldn’t wait any longer. The coal wolf had decided that morning that he couldn’t keep his feelings inside anymore. During the family meeting it was clear that Tony was very pissed off at him, and he at Tony, over the enter situation but he dare not drag it out any longer. All he wanted was to be a father to his new pups and to have Alyssum as his mate, was that really so difficult? The female had been plastered in his mind all week, his feelings become more concrete as the days passed and after Tony’s words he knew this was exactly what he wanted and hell to anyone who thought differently. He would ask the girl to be with him and wouldn’t blink at any words against him. It had been almost year since his mateship ended and plenty had happened in that time to change him. He was more confidant than ever, but he would need to confess to her that Skye had just given birth to his pups, her step pups should she accept his proposal.

A bouquet of wild flowers and three rings lay neatly on the table in the middle of the sitting area as he stared at himself in the cracked mirror in his room, awkwardly trying to follow the instructions in the book in front of him on how to do up a bow tie. It was times like this he was thankful he could read. It was through reading that he had fond out more about how the humans had proposed mateship to one another with an engagement ring, the more showy ring, and then when they became official and joined by Fenris…or whatever God they believed in, they exchanged matching rings.

At last he got the bow tie in place, the black against his red button up, fur cape and leather shoulder piece making him look rather charming, at least he thought so. All that was left to do was to pick up the flowers and the engagement ring, take those few steps across the hall to the Luna’s chambers, and blurt out his confessions. Nervously fidgeting he mentally pumped himself up before proceeding with the plan. The ring was tucked into his pocket and the flowers clutched in his left hand as he anxiously knocked on the door. “Aly. It’s me.” He managed to choke out, announcing his presence and hopefully prompting her to get to the door before he could become nervous enough to turn around and hide in his room.

Alyssum was reading a book when the knock on her door came. She had finally got everything situated in the room, and while she had a number of possessions, they were spread thin and the large quarters still seemed empty. But, it was a change for the best, she told herself, since moving from the small room on the lower levels allowed her to organized a bit better. She even had a small space for the few books she had, and had only picked up one a mere thirty minutes ago.

She lowered the book as the thud echoed the room, and wondered who it could have been--perhaps a pack mate looking for her assistance, she thought--until Jazper spoke. A smile came upon the woman's face and discarded the book, lacking any grace as she absentmindedly tossed it over the bed she sat upon, and reached the door as fast as she possibly could. "Hey, Jaz, it's good--" She had begun to speak before she opened the door, and when she did she had to cut herself off as his appearance surprised her. He was wearing the clothing she would typically see during special annoucements or events like the ball, and it confused her, though not in an unpleasant way. She noticed that the black tie was a new addition, and found the little thing endearing.

"Is something going on?" Alyssum asked curiously, noting that he sounded a bit anxious and stared at the flowers he held with a rather tight grip. She wondered what they were for in the back of her mind, but decided it was all in due time that it would be explained, she supposed. In any case, she pulled the door out a bit more and waved a hand for him to enter, seeing that there was no reason to hold a conversation at her doorstep when he was a welcomed presence. She, assuming he was right behind her, walked back to her bed, but decided to remain standing instead of settling down into the furs, and watched him expectantly, unknown to her what was going through his mind.

Her voice echoed back and then the door opened suddenly, almost causing him to take a step back. Although he tried his best to appear confident internally he was quickly becoming a wreck and her confused face brought the situation into reality. He was really going to do this. With the gesture to enter he followed behind her hesitantly, golden eyes looking around at the sparsely furnished room. His own room was very well planned, with a sitting area set up near the fire place for guests, a desk and book shelves for his work and readings, a perch for Alena by one of the many windows, not to mention his large bed and his violin which sat neatly in a corner. She turned back to look at him and he could feel his eyes drop away from her gaze for a moment before forcing himself to stand tall and confident.

Holding out the flowers awkwardly he finally spoke, “For you. I got them for you…I mean for your room. I got them for your room.” The words came out like a young man to his first crush, all the feelings swishing around in his gut causing him to fee ill as he stood there. Allowing her a moment to take the flowers he tugged at the bow tie still trying and failing to regain his composure. Clearing his throat he finally got into it….kind of. “I need to talk to you.” Well at least she knew he was there to talk to her. Swallowing the lump in his throat he finally blurted out what he had not meant to blurt out or expose in quite that manner. “Skye and I had pups.” Shit. His eyes grew wide and his body became stiff as he looked at her, fully expecting rage. “I mean..um..well…” Again he tugged at his bow tie. “A couple of months ago she came to me and one thing led to another…it was just a one night thing it didn’t mean anything…I mean SHE means something clearly, she’s the mother of my pups but…” Closing his muzzle hard he clenched his teeth together, his mind yelling at him to shut up before his foot got any deeper down his throat. One last thing, “A boy and a girl.”

(470) Aly is a sad panda. But she will soon become a mad panda. |: Soon.

She knew that something was definitely off when the sun king refused to meet her eyes for a moment, but she did not have time to point it out as he began to spoke. She blinked as she was suddenly handed the flowers with a few awkward words, and she gingerly took the bouquet from him with careful hands. While she appreciated it and thought the familiar blossoms beautiful, they worried her. A random gift of kindness could only sign that bad news was coming. This paired with Jazper's nervousness made her come to this conclusion. But, she grinned anyway, and murmured a thank you as she brushed one of the petals delicately.

She tried to ignore it, but she saw his fidgeting, and tried to remain distant. Yet, she picked it up anyway, and kept herself from over thinking. He stated that they needed to talk. Okay, she thought reassuringly to herself, her own voice sounding unsure, he just wants to talk about something. It's probably not even bad, she added. Maybe it was something about the pack, nothing more. But then again it didn't explain the flowers. Her mind tried to summon some sort of answer when Jazper blurted out it.

At first, she did not comprehend it. But, as he babbled on, explaining himself, she felt a pressure settle on her chest. It weighted her down, and she slowly fell to the bed, and she felt pinned down to the spot. While the blank look of shock colored her face, seeming as if words were simply flowing into her ears without being heard, every letter slapped against her like a sharp, cold wave against her mind. As he went on to say that Skye meant something to him, she slipped more under the current of thoughts that muddled her thinking. It then occurred to her why he went on that small trip. To see the Cercatori woman and their children. Thier children. The idea made her stiff. She did not know why she felt betrayed. Yet, she felt her heart being crippled.

She was silent for a moment. She went to stroke the flowers again, a motion she made to compose herself. "Are they fine?" she murmured, her voice quiet, eyes remaining on the colorful plants. While part of her felt... quite frankly, saddened by the news, she saw it as her being selfish. She and Jazper were close friends, but nothing more. Perhaps it would always be that way, part of her said. That thought also made her cringe. A friend would support him, tell him congratulations, hope for the best between the parents and children. But she could not rally any motivation for such things besides the simple question of their well being. Again she fell silent, guessing he would now leave her to her troubled thoughts then.

As soon as she fell to the bed guilt flashed through him. How could he be so stupid to think that she would take this well. He watched in horror as she sat silently, taking in his words. Anxiously he took a step forward, thinking he ought to go to her side, and then a step back, thinking he ought to leave her be in peace and not burden her with the next bit of information. He opened and closed his mouth numerous times but words simply didn’t come out. He had expected anger, he could handle anger but the eerie silence of unsaid words drove him crazy. He knew Aly liked him romantically and he knew he wanted to be with her but the new pups complicated things a bit. He had been foolish to think that it wouldn’t.

Finally she spoke, a single question. He watched her closely, her eyes staring at the flowered intensely and daring not to look at him. What was she thinking? Did she not know he cared about her? Quietly he answered, like a pup in trouble, “Ya, they’re good. They’re going to live with their mom, I’ll have to travel to see them.” His eyes wandered to the door once more but his hand moved into his pocket and began to fiddle with the ring. He had to tell her, he couldn’t just leave her like this. He was an Alpha of a pack of warriors and needed to pull his ass back together and act like the man he was.

Rolling his shoulders back and letting his tail raise up confidently he moved to kneel in front of the petite girl. His hand wrapped around the ring drawing it out of his pocket. With the closed fist he spoke clearly, “That’s not why I’m all dolled up though Aly.” He searched for her eyes, lowering his head awkwardly to look at her face. “I care about Skye yes but I’m in love with someone else. I know this is a bit of a mess but Aly, can’t you see I love you.” He opened up the palm exposing the silver ring with the yellow gem. “I want to be with you. I can’t get you out of my mind since the Ball. If you’ll have me...” His sun kissed face stared at her from his place in front of her with pleading eye, hoping she would smile up at him.

(465) Osnap.

No emotion flickered across her face. While her words were honest to a fault, she had to be credited when it came to her appearance; so many feelings, most of them along the lines of being depressed, were well hidden. She nodded vaguely as the man confirmed the pups' security, supposing that was good. As for the last part... She forced herself to look at it in a formal way. A way she would have to view things now that she was a Luna--no longer could she think with her heart at all times, bold and biased. This was his children, it was his duty as a father to visit them. Otherwise he would be hurting them if he stayed away from the Artisans as they grew. She would not allowed herself to see it as anything else, as nothing more, trying her best to bar her mind from stray thoughts. Yet, there were a few leaks in her defense, and soon she succumbed to her thoughts once more.

She saw from the slight of her vision that he was shifting around again, but did not bother to look up. Even when he knelt before her, she continued to ignore him for th most part. Born and raise in a clan that were animalistic as possible, she did not have the faintest idea of what he was doing, and was still lost when he began to speak. Though she felt the urge to look away when he sought her with his own gaze, she allowed her sea foam eyes to linger on the man's golden. As he went on to say what she assumed was wrong, that he wasn't in love with Skye, she, selfishly, felt a little better, but now completely confused. She furrowed her brows, the first of any emotion to come across her face, as he stated he was in love with someone else. She listened and watched as he revealed his feelings for her and the ring. The gem sparkled beautifully, and she stared at it for a moment.

She raised her head a bit, a degree enough for the Sole to view her without having to bend over awkwardly to look at her. A brief moment had passed, a small beat, and then she spoke. "Get out." She was quiet, a whisper in the silence. Realizing this, she grimanced even further and stated louder, with more anger coloring her words. "Get out, now." She didn't yell, but she felt like she was screaming anyway. So many thoughts, so many emotions battled within her, wanting to be spoken for, but there were so many, she turned to frustration. She rose, more of a jerk than a graceful rise, and stood before the crouched man. "Leave me, and take that ring with you."

It was not every day that Jazper Rhiannon-Knight deliberately made himself lower than another, he was a man of pride and courage, but today he was an emotional wreck as he kneel before his co-leader. His heart raced as he explained himself, the words slipping out without must thought. As he kneel he wanted to wrap his arms around the coymix to show her he wasn’t just made of words but her silence continued, keeping his muzzle shut tightly. His eyes looked at her pleading with her to see his way. They could be happy together! She was beautiful and intelligent and a wonderful provider while he was handsome, strong and a natural leader. They led the pack together now, being a mated pair would be the cherry on top of the ice cream.

What happened next he could never have been prepared for. Two words that instantly crushed him inside. More confidently she spoke the words again, pushing him away emotionally and shutting him out. His ears flattened back and he opened his mouth slightly agape, words not coming to him. As she stood her final words stung him, his face betraying his hurt. Silently and quickly he stood, clutching the ring his in claws. Not willing to look at her he spoke quietly, “You can keep the flowers.” With ears pressed to his head and a saddened frown he left the room, leaving Aly to her thoughts. He hurried back to his room, closing the door behind him loudly before slinking to the ground. How could he have been so stupid? Looking at the ring one last time he threw it across the room, a final act of frustration before bringing his head to rest in his hands.
