(286) rambleramble. She's halfway through Jordheim, heading south towards Colibri's house. Late morning. Dated Sept 8th?

Her life consisted of long, tedious days of waiting for something, anything to happen. If left to succumb to boredom and loneliness, her normally relaxed mood would often morph into a muddle of unfounded crankiness and frustration. Thankfully, she wasn't alone. Her relationship with Colibri had evolved into something above and beyond sisterly love; the chocolate Hollr had become her trusted friend. Tending to Raudr Vineyards with Colibri and Thorn had lifted her spirits, reminding her that she could still perform small tasks here and there. Saul's presence had been scarce as of late - she saw him around Jordheim once in a while and when he came home to rest, but the majority of their days were spent apart.

He'd returned to her exceptionally happy a few nights prior, which was a pleasant change. Gideon and Wretch's departure had taken its toll on his normally jubilant behavior. His sister had apparently journeyed down from the Solbjorg Valley, a relative she hadn't yet encountered. While it pleased her to see a renewed hope kindle in his emerald eyes, Lilin couldn't help but wonder if Shiloh's presence was temporary. She'd returned her mate's embrace, a forced smile tugging at her lips as she'd done so. There was no point in being pessimistic, she knew. His sister's loyalty might succeed where his brother's had failed.

She had ambled around Jordheim all morning, greeting her pack companions whenever the opportunity presented itself. Lilin was on her way to see Colibri to check up on her, growing anxious as the days went by. Her sibling would soon give birth to the Soulstorm heir's future nieces and nephews; how much longer until Vinatta had the pleasure of meeting their next generation?

Mannnn Shi so fake gurll. :|

It had not been a long time, but Shiloh Dawnbringer had already settled into her new home. She’d been a bit concerned about her living situation after months of traveling in the wilderness, but she was absolutely charmed when she first laid eyes on the village of Jordheim. The grassy dome houses were as cozy as they looked, tucked among the hills and other formations of the village, and their squat frames were definitely sturdy enough to hold up against the test of time.

She’d chosen one not far from her brother’s large house, an opportunity presenting itself when she found a vacant one nestled against the trees. One back window opened up to the forest and the birdsong of the morning, and she spent a lot of her time there although her doorway faced her neighbors. Although she knew she was amongst family and amongst those chosen by Saul to stay in Vinátta, she wasn’t certain she wanted to truly meet them yet. Instead, she’d busied herself by furnishing her home in what ways she could: clearing space for a table she would eventually fill with sewing supplies, inspecting the knickknacks and removing those that were ugly, and chasing rodents out of their unwanted nests.

Today was beautiful, though, and since she first threw open the shutters to the woods Shiloh knew it would be a day wasted if she spent it inside. She brushed her hair and fur out, slipping on her pink summer dress, and finally stepped outside with a faint smile on her face. She supposed she could simply walk through Jordheim until she ran into someone; that would be simpler than anything else.

The white she-wolf stepped gingerly through the woods as a shortcut, emerging on one of the well-trod paths that wound through the hills. She sniffed as subtly as she could as she passed the huts of her neighbors, trying to gauge who lived where, and marked quite a few that were empty as she reached the middle of the village.

A familiar scent reached her, and Shiloh paused for a moment. Her brother’s safe and warm, woody odor was prominent, but not as much as if he’d actually been there; she found it instead blended with another personal scent, one touched by the hormones that marked pregnancy. Her blue eyes widened then narrowed, and she took longer (but still controlled) strides until she saw the luperci walking through the village—beautiful and two-toned and swollen with child.

Another wolf might have curled their lip, but Shiloh let hers pull back into an absolutely delighted smile as she quickened her pace. “Good morning,” she called sweetly, stopping and linking her hands together as if uncertain. “I’m sorry for interrupting your walk, but—do you happen to be Lilin?”

(312) --

Temeraire's dome-shaped dwelling was up ahead. Her relationship with the boy had always been one that could not be catalogued. She was neither his cousin nor his stepmother. He was family through blood, distantly related, but her mateship to Saul was enough to make her pretend otherwise- as if ignoring their family ties would make her taboo liaison with his father go away. This was something the adolescent seemed to understand as he didn't particularly reach out to her, but every once in a while, Lilin would mull over the eccentricity of their relationship and regret the decrepit state it was in. Her dichotomous receivers were pricked and alert, scanning for sounds that would indicate his presence in the vicinity. Much to her surprise, the purposeful yet silent footsteps she heard were not up ahead as she'd expected. A greeting sweet as sugar found its way to her, buoyant and full of joyful energy.

The Soulstorm heir paused in her ambling walk before pivoting her body around, eager to see the owner of such a voice. An alabaster-toned female met her mediterranean irises, elegant-looking and bearing strong resemblances to her beau. ''Good morning,'' she retorted just as softly, pairing her words with a hint of surprise. If there had been any uncertainty regarding this female's identity before, the woman's next statement was enough to erase all doubts. ''Yes. You must be Shiloh,'' she retorted with an acquiescing nod. Saul had described his littermate with brotherly adoration- the pretty blue eyes, the glistening locks of golden hair. Lilin had no problem putting a name to her face, noting the similar outfits they wore with an amused smile. Had her belly not been so large, their physique would have been within the same range. The Virding felt almost inadequate compared to her sister-in-law's toned body. ''I hope you're settling in nicely.''

Straight ladies checking each other out yeaaah.

Gods, but Shiloh could understand why her brother had fallen for this female. Her curious smile became more genuine—almost dumbfounded—when the Virding turned to face her. Her eyes were a beautiful Mediterranean blue, the true color of their family, but what really caught her attention was the other’s coat. She’d seemed to have the same dark fur and points of lighter color similar to Niernan, at least from the back, and while this was interesting in itself for a wolf it was nothing compared to the two halves of her face—one the same smoky color as her body, the other chocolate brown. Even swollen with child, she was lovely.

It took a moment for Shiloh to reclaim her dubious thoughts, but her smile was none the less pleasant for it. She nodded to confirm who she was, wondering how much Saul had spoken over to their pack mates and what, exactly, he’d told them. Knowing the prissy girl-child she’d been when they were young, she wasn’t really optimistic about her first impression on her new family, but there was enough time to change that.

“Oh, yes,” the Dawnbringer answered with a flutter of her eyelashes and a quick twist of her body, her blue eyes flickering along the path from whence she’d come. “Jordheim is absolutely lovely,” she said, facing her leader, sister-in-law, and cousin again. “It’s rather hard not to settle into these cozy little homes nicely.” She meant every word of it, too, knowing how simple it had been to fall asleep the first night, safe and surrounded by beauty and family. She prayed for many restful nights ahead, too.

Lapsing into silence, she resumed staring at the woman’s face—noticing the pale squiggle on her forehead, hidden behind a lock of dual-colored hair. She kept looking for a moment, pretended to come to again, and smiled apologetically. “I’m sorry—Saul’s just told me so much about you,” she went on, then frowned. “Or, well, he’s told me how special you are; it’s really clear that he loves you. I guess he hasn’t told me about you, though, so I guess I’d like to get to know my new sister-in-law?”

She quickly reached up to twirl a lock of her blonde hair, conscious mimicry of a usually unconscious nervous tic. “If that’s okay,” she amended quickly. “I was just curious.”

(383) EH. Lilin's awkward; feel free to have Shiloh say something about Crow being old and well. -shrug- XD

She could only agree with her sister-in-law. Jordheim was indeed a majestic place- it was hard to overlook its beauty and splendor. Her gaze strayed to the surrounding houses as Shiloh shared her opinion, seeking the magic she'd perhaps grown a little too accustomed to. Time and routine unfortunately had a way of overshadowing the most beautiful things but every once in a while, someone would come along and remind her of how lucky she was. Her gaze absorbed the scenery and eventually returned to her mate's sister. Silence washed over them and while Shiloh seemed to fall into a daze, Lilin's forehead crinkled ever so slightly. She felt observed, scrutinized, and while she normally wouldn't have cared much- the fact that her interlocutor was someone dear to Saul made her nervous. She couldn't help but shuffle from one foot to another, preparing a sentence that would eclipse the silence.

Before she could even part her lips though, the Risna appeared to snap out of it. A reserved smile tugged at her lips when Shiloh's apology rang clear, followed by an in depth explanation that justified her curiosity. ''It's alright,'' she offered, allowing herself to relax and dismiss the awkwardness with a small wave of her hand. ''I'd like to get to know you too.'' Lilin was merely being truthful. She strived to maintain healthy relationships with pack mates. Getting to know Shiloh, given their blood relation and her connection to Saul, made it that much more important. She was terrible at small talk, unlike her sister-in-law who seemingly had no problem approaching and conversing with whomever she pleased. Shiloh would soon notice that, if she hadn't already. At least, she was showing interest in Lilin - unlike Gideon and Wretch who had left without seeking her out or at least saying goodbye her beau.

''How's my grandfather, Crow?'' she began, hoping to loosen the tension. Truthfully, she didn't care all that much but they had to break the ice. Surely the former Alpha of the Stormbringer Clan would be known by Shiloh, who also hailed from the Valley. He was probably ten years of age by now, if not older. According to Miskunn, Crow had stepped down and his son Wraith was now at the head of the family.

Ugh this is very late and it sucks ;______;

Lilin returned the sentiment, and Shiloh allowed another pretense of a smile before deciding that that act had gotten dull. It normally wasn’t hard for her to put on a polite face, but she knew that she overdid it, sometimes: and a too-sweet front was just as off-putting as an obviously rude one. She let her expression grow more subtle, and her mind lay in wait for a topic that was far more interesting than this dull banter.

The Virding provided one: Crow Stormbringer. She wanted to correct her, say that Crow was their grandfather—or at least great-grandfather in the white-furred woman’s case. Instead, she thought back to the old wolf and let a more genuine smile touch her lips. “He’s doing very well, if a little slower these days.” She shrugged to show that this wasn’t anything to worry about, only the process of aging. “He stepped down from Alphaship,” she added, not sure that Lilin knew this or if it would be important to her. “Wraith leads now.” She was fond of her uncle, even if she didn’t know him very well.

She fell silent then, wondering what else to say, before a wry grin quirked her mouth. She gestured to the other’s dress with considerable envy, feeling that her own was plain in comparison. “Where did you find that? It’s gorgeous.” Even if it didn’t fit her as well as it might have, considering her big tummy. She tried not to let her eyes linger there, not sure how to approach the subject of incestual pups yet.

Then she paused, and grinned again, deciding she might as well give as much of an impression as she could and draw conclusions about the two-toned woman after their conversation. “Saul’s lying about me being a vain princess,” she added ironically, giving a little prissy toss of her pale blonde head. “I swear it.”
