She was waiting, again, for her mother. Garnet seemed to have been doing quiet a lot of waiting lately, but at least this time she was doing something relatively constructive. The black female was lying on the ground, just inside the Inferni border, doing sit-ups. Even if the first lesson had pissed her off, the coyote knew there was some wisdom in Trinity’s advice. In any case, it wouldn’t hurt her to work-out more and build up her strength. Garnet was tired of being weak, of being helpless. Hopefully, after many months or years, and quiet a few bruises, she would be strong, capable of taking care of herself, and others.

Garnet took a minute to rest, placing both hands on the ground next to her as she sat cross-legged in the grass. Panting as she looked up at the sun’s position, she realized that she had been working-out for quiet a while. Where was Asphyxia anyway? Blood red eyes scanned the desert scrub brush for a familiar black form, though not another soul could be seen. Shrugging, the female went back to her sit-ups.

this is dated for right before Inferni pack meeting and three days after Skoll died and the day after staying with Iskata for a couple days. <-- just for everyone that reads this to know! =D

Four legs holding up the body that was starting to bulge around the stomach, Asphyxia finally convinced herself to get up after laying beside Skoll's dead body for a few hours, Iskata took her in and took care of her and they had a long chat that made Asphyxia realize she needed to see Garnet and tell her everything, even her intentions on breaking off from Inferni. Quietly she found her way back to Inferni territory where she started to look around for Garnet. This time, Garnet thought that once again she was going to have to help her mother out instead of mother helping daughter, but this time she never knew Asphyxia wasn't looking for help or someone to say sorry. All she wanted to know was if Garnet was staying where she was or following Asphyxia which eventually she was sure she'd need someone to hunt for her and the puppies soon to be born.

Making her way around, she lifted her nose in the air and breathed in, smelling Garnet closer and closer with every step. The black female knew she probably looked old and tired but right now that's all she felt, she wasn't hungry anymore because Iskata convinced her to eat enough food for her and the pups. This leaving was not to feel bad for her life anymore, it was because she couldn't stay here, she needed to escape and break free. Skoll told her to go to Shadowed Sun, but she wasn't sure she wanted to do that anymore, she was probably going to tell Tayui that she didn't want to be apart of any pack for now and that even though Skoll asked this of her, she felt safer alone and by herself with possibly Garnet by her side. Asphyxia had the thought of talking to Laurel who seemed pretty nice, but she didn't think going to him was the right choice either, she didn't want to hurt anyone else and put them in this mess so she stuck close to family on this one. Iskata offered them to stick around on Phoenix Valley lands if it made her feel safe and a place she could eventually call home and Asphyxia was seriously considering that.

Moving forward, Asphyxia could see a dark figure with black eyes in Optime form, knowing it was her daughter. Quiet and careful, she fixed herself up controlled herself but it was hard not to cry right now, she cried the whole way there but now she had to compose herself for the sake of her daughter. Asphyxia found it hard to talk, but she made little squeaky sounds when she tried to talk. Clearing her throat she didn't even look at Garnet, "Garnet..." she couldn't come to say that her lover was actually dead, she couldn't say the words without any emotion washing over her, she couldn't even think about it and in that second she realized that the reason she found it hard to talk was because she was bawling, "S...Sk...Sk...Skoll's de..dead." she could barely see, she shut her eyes and just let the tears flow out and over.

Garnet was in the middle of doing sit-ups when she spotted and scented her mother. She stood up, brushing off more of the grass and dust that clung to her pelt, and waited for her mother to get closer. Asphyxia was in her Lupus form, because of Skoll’s pups, and this meant that Garnet was actually taller than her mother, by far. Knowing it would take too long, the younger female decided not to shift back to her own Lupus form. Besides, other than running there was little working out she could do with four legs.

Somewhere off in the distance a bird cried out. When Asphyxia reached her daughter, Garnet noticed that she looked ‘down’. Subtle changes in her posture and her voice, the way she held her tail and the shadows beneath her eyes all spoke of something terrible having happened. Or, at least, something that had upset her mother. Feeling awkward, the she coyote crouched down on one knee to get more ‘eye level’ with Asphyxia. It was then that she heard the sobs form and noticed the tears pouring from her mother’s eyes. ’Oh no…’ She thought as her mother tried to speak but it was all jumbled because of her tears.

As she spoke those terrible words, Garnet’s eyes grew first wide with surprise and then frowned with sorrow. ”Oh no, oh no.” Garnet said softly as she reached out and hugged her mother. She felt tears coming to her own eyes, though they weren’t for Skoll really. The female hadn’t known him all that well, and while his death was a surprise, it wasn’t what made her bawl. Garnet hade her arms around her Asphyxia’s neck and was crying because of the pain that her mom was feeling. It hurt her inside to see her mother so sad, so devastated. And that was why she cried. Garnet had a dozen questions to ask her mother, but knew that right now Asphyxia needed the support and love of her daughter, and so Garnet said nothing and gave her mother a shoulder to cry on.
