dead or alive?

This is an All Welcome, so feel free to join.

Pendzez was in an area a long way outside the Phoenix Valley area. He came to the place where he was now because there was something he wanted to make sure of. Did his sister really die? Was it her blood she was covered with? Pendzez wasn't now sure because Flayra smelled like berries that grew in a forest near where he used to live before his parents died. Those berries were Flayra's favourite treat. She liked to eat them when he was two months old, and she's been eating them since, but not since she dies, or that's what Pendzez believed. Something came to mind about his sister that really troubled him deeply. Questions ran through his head, problems came into motion, and as the wolf walked along the grassy plains of Batons et Pierres, he started to think about the past.

When Pendzez first found Flayra, who he thought was dead, she was covered in blood, but it was hard to tell if it was hers because Flayra always smelt of berries that were sweet. Pendzez just thought of that a few days a ago, bout one day before joining the Phoenix Valley pack. Is she dead now, or is she still alive? Pendzez had to know the truth about the event. Flayra was still when it was said she died, too young. She always wanted to go on adventures when she still a younger pup, always going for little walks here and there. The parents didn't complain. Instead, they went along with. So did Pendzez because his parents didn't let him stay home. Pendzez thought that was a fun time, actually. Walking with his little sis. That was a good memory to keep.

Pendzez came to a place that seemed familiar to him. An old house that looks like it was almost falling apart. He was home. The house itself was still tough by the looks of it. Still intact and not demolished by time. Well, it's been only two months since Pendzez left his home to go on a journey around the world. The windows were shattered and the doors were rotting, but still pretty tough. Tough enough to survive a hurricane. Pendzez sat there under a tree looking at his old home, bringing back past memories.

Lately Khaden had no sense of urgency, for now he had time to saunter through life. He had received from his experiences the ultimate blessings - a beautiful mate, an unorthodox yet wonderful home of Esper Hollow, a rank as well as a co-rank, a exquisite home in which to nestle into at night, and the freedom of his drama of the past and his lineage. It was true enough that Conri Church as well as Dhalia Nothing was to stay, lurking in the shadows of his mind, but he was able to cope with both. His older brother was a harder story, and he felt at times guilty that he had not arranged time to help him and aide him through his stresses, but with the Aatte boy officially tied with Ember, it was harder and harder to really find the energy to push past so much that Soran's children had gone through. However, it was this fateful day that really brought the ebony wolf roused from his slumber to seek out the northern regions.

Perhaps it had been his recent findings of Naniko that brought his mind swirling towards his insane brother, and half of him wanted very much just to meet him once again, see him, and offer him resolution within the borders of Esper Hollow, but he knew deep down that would not solve much. As the Aatte boy wandered through everything from the Shattered Coast to the Dampwoods, he knew that Conri had been broken, and it would take nothing short of a miracle to repair the shattered pieces of his soul. Grimacing slightly, he picked a path of his own through the mutual terrain, pushing past much of the foliage and rubble to come across a quaint building dotting the horizon. Cocking his head, he ventured further, walking up to see what it really was and feeling the adventurous side of him peek out from the tumultuous thoughts of his family drama. He could see the silhouette of the figure first before really registering that it was truly another wolf and he called out friendly, not wanting to startle the other. "Hi there."

Rogue wolves were a real problem out here in neutral territory, especially here in the grass fields of the Halcyon Mountain. They still are now, with some reports going over. Some of them even attacked packlands. Pendzez knew about them very well because they were the ones that killed his family. He was able to know because there were a couple of dead rogue wolf bodies in and around the house when Pendzez returned from his walk to the berry bush that were in the forest. When he came to burying his parents, he didn't want to bury the wolves that had something to do with killing them, but he didn't want to be disrespectful. Even if they were enemies, he had to be a good samaritan, and burying the dead was part of it. The thought of rogue wolves made him wonder why they would even kill a defenseless two month pup that wasn't even ready to put up a fight. If Pendzez came back sooner, mabye he could have done something, but it was all in the past. If he found a mate and had pups of his own, he wouldn't even let the same thing happen to them as it happened to his parents.

He sat there staring at the worn down house like he was in a trance that won't make him stop looking at it. There wasn't really any point to look at it anyway. What he was doing really made him think way he was even here in the first place, but then he remembers why. To find out the truth about his sister's death. Is she dead or alive? That is the question. Pendzez wasn't sure of he was about to do was right. He thought about digging up where he buried Flayra to find out for sure, but disturbing her peaceful rest could be such bad luck, leading him to die, not finding eternal peace. He had no choice, if it was to find the truth about Flayra. He didn't want to do it, but he had no choice. This was the only way to find out.

He was about to step forward towards the house, but he heard a voice. "Hi there." is what he heard. The snow white wolf turned his head around and found a dark pelted wolf approaching him. Pendzez wasn't feeling trespassed be the stranger and threatened him to leave. Instead, he gave a light smile in reply. "Why, hello. Nice day isn't it?"

I'm assuming that you were in your lupus form, correct me if I'm wrong though. Smile

He was the inverse of Khaden, white hued and ranging on the smaller side. Granted, Khaden had came from a huskier lineage, with the wolves ranging on the higher scale of the spectrum. However, diversity seemed to be the spice of life, especially when it was as welcoming as he seemed. Giving a friendly incline of his body, a bow of courtesy and a general tail wag of appreciation, Khaden sauntered over and gave a grin in response. "Yeah." The word easily slipped from the ebony lupine's mouth. "Anything's better than what we've been having for the past couple of weeks right?"

In fact, Khaden could not quite remember the last time he saw the sun rays, no matter how spotty. Most of 'Souls had been invaded with thunderstorms and clouds. Rain seemed to frequent the skies and the earth as well, and although the Aatte boy could not protest to a bit of cleansing rain now and then, to have it on a routinely daily basis was getting a bit much. So naturally, he tossed his head to the sky to fully observe the sunlight through the punched out whitening clouds. He turned back to the male and gave a bit of a chuckle before doing the proper introductions. "Khaden. From Esper Hollow."

When Khaden approached Pendzez, Pendzez saw that he had an opposite pelt color than him. It was like black and white filled every corner of the world. However, they were both wolves, not just color. Pendzez didn't feel different, or uneven, to the appearance of Khaden. He thought that there wasn't any reason for it, I mean, Pendzez was a wolf, Khaden was a wolf, so they are the same. "Yeah. Anything's better than what we've been having for the past couple of weeks right?" That was true. There has been rain and thunderstorms for a while, which would impede in the doings of some wolves. Others, well, choose to do their things in the rain, under the clouds of a storm, under the cover of rain and fog. "You can say that again." Pendzez didn't literally mean "again." It was more of sarcasm.

Soon after, Khaden introduced himself. "Khaden. From Esper Hollow." That's what he said. Esper Hollow? Pendzez has been there once before. He just past through, but he had to go through the main packland homes and dens. To put it more simply, the pack meeting place. He wasn't intruding, they were kind enough to grant him passage through, and let him stay for a few days to resupply and rest for more of his journey. He thought about going there to be in the pack once, but he thought the Pheonix Valley pack would be better so he could live on the Zazkrx name, which went down in the Pheonix Valley packland. Besides, it's would be what his parents wanted anyway. Pendzez didn't mind joining Pheonix Valley, in fact, he found perfectly acceptable, though it wasn't Esper Hollow. It wouldn't have mattered if he joined what ever pack he wanted to, his parents wouldn't mind, but he wanted to continue the Zazkex name, so Pheonix Valley it was. Pendzez looked at the ebony figure and replied with his introduction. "I'm Pendzez, from the Pheonix Valley pack and former-Loner."
