aw, maybe even two?

Tight and lean muscle propelled his thin legs. He often imagined them larger, heavy bulk that could power him for hours and hours and for miles and miles. His stamina was well built, but still if they were stronger, he could run longer. But he could never improve the speed the light boned male possessed. Still speed could always be sacrificed for strength. In a fight, speed was a secondary feature. Power was number one, it would always be.

The golden-eyed boy used his speed to travel the large distances better then any body builder could. The miles melted under his paws, his heart beating evenly and his breath calm. The landscape was ever changing. Eyes took in the minor differences, while his nose searched for a rumor. His source was a pup, some spoiled kid from a pack that most likely pampered him and his cute sisters. But Heath figured it was worth investigating. Parting from his brother, the tawny male had pointed his nose north and search for the only thing that might distinguish this clan from all the others. He had gotten close to a few, but they were distinctly wolf dominated. And Heath was looking from something else.

The sun sat low in the gloom filled sky, its haze covered by a thin film of pending rain showers. He hoped the storm would hold, not interested in traveling through unknown lands while sopping wet. Black soot paw stepped forward, and his pace slowed as the scent lingered in the heavy cool air. Nose to the wind he examined what he had been searching for. The male knew better, but instead of heading the fragrant warning he continued. The land was flat but rocky beneath him, growing treacherous as he got ever closer.

Honey hued orbs glanced ahead, and dark silhouettes stood before him. The posted faces couldn’t be made out until tentative steps were made forward. A stench still lingered around them, and through the dark heavy air the male found the heads that sat unhappily on the thick posts. Hesitant strides made wide berths around the decapitated wolf parts, getting only a few steps before stopping to turn and glance behind him. The figures still stood, with stakes where a spine should be and Heath drew his tongue across his nose uneasily.

Where they fuck was he?

[html]Hope you don't mind Hybrid dropping by. He's in his Secui form, and almost pleasant. Egads!

He had been perusing the borders for most of the afternoon and evening, taking his time to make his way across the barren lands. The only distinguishing features of the borders were rocks, the occasional tree, and skulls. Skulls of wolves mounted on pikes, sticks sharpened on both ends. They were driven into the ground and stood taller than most canines, observing their surroundings with finite authority. But their eyeless sockets could only see so far. But still, they alerted him. Hybrid turned, shifting his weight, pulling himself up a rock. A boulder. Perhaps. He stared across the plain, with the grasses swaying gently in the wind. Distracting.

A storm was coming.

He squinted, then began to descend down the rock. It was not particularly tall. But Hybrid still wished to be careful. As he neared the bottom, a wolf came into view, gaping stupidly. "State your business or leave," Hybrid demanded. "We do not take kindly to strangers gallivanting about our borders," he added, flattening his ears. He pulled back scarred lips to bare his fangs, snaking his head lower to eye the other male. Hybrid was close enough to see the other creature's chest move (up, down, in, out, inhale, exhale, and...) as he breathed. The other creature's golden eyes seemed to be fixated on the skull as a curious expression flickered across the boy's face. Hybrid smirked. He wondered what the boy was thinking. Yes, he wondered what had possessed the child to come to their borders and wait. Hybrid doubted he was here on official business as an envoy from another pack, for they usually made their existence known before someone could attack, and doubted the boy was here to meet a friend. Perhaps the boy was here due to his own insatiable curiosity. Hmm. Here, kitty, kitty, kitty?

YAY!! he's a fighter... watch OOUT

As his eyes broke their gaze on the boarder markings, the yearling was suddenly second-guess himself. It was obvious that he shouldn’t be where he was, but still his interest dominated his reason. Trying to shrug the feeling off he began to take a step forward. Head turned, and he was stopped immediately by the appearance of the large coyote. The energy that thrown at him was threatening bordering on violent and the morte dre Soul wolf found it hard not to instantly snarl.

He was haggard and older then the lean hybrid. Though they stood at the same height, the stranger held more meat on his bones. There was urgency in his tone, making the hair on the back of the young male’s neck rise in alert. The shaggy pelt down his spine followed, giving a silent warning. Not another step; as always he wasn’t afraid just weary. The demanding questions stunned him for a moment, taking the words from his throat. Heath stared into the bloody hued eyes of the other, unsure of what words would keep his hide fully intact.

Two steps gave the scared beast his side, keeping him in view as well as giving Heath a larger appearance. Ear fell backward as he spoke, Just looking for a friend. Spitting out the lie Heath compared their size, black furred leg taking another step while he figured that they matched fairly well. Giving a closed mouth frown Heath waited for the other to ask who he was looking for, it was the obvious response. It was the look in the other yote’s eyes that made him cautious. Heath’s first urge was to lead with teeth and claws, but the recent scuffle with Lannen had left a few stinging scratches.

Heath was his turf anyways., and he knew when to play nice.

Just looking for a friend. The wolf's words came soon enough, but Hybrid was not about to allow him pass. Hybrid seethed, but said nothing. He inclined his head in a brief, quick nod; crimson eyes resting on the other male's form as he did so. He pulled back his lips farther. The action could easily be mistaken for a smile; it was not. Hybrid stared down at the wolf from his slightly elevated position on the rock, eyes narrowing. A pause. Silence. Hybrid regarded the wolf, eyes ready to condemn him at a moment's notice. But Hybrid still said nothing. He regarded the boy as he considered his position on the rock, mentally preparing himself in case the boy chose to attack. If Hybrid descended down the rock any further, he would be at a disadvantage, for the boy could easily pin him against one of the rocks. Hybrid did not know if the boy was hostile, but few ventured this close to Inferni's borders unless they sought violence. Hybrid frowned.

"Who," he stated at last. It was not a question; it was a demand. Plain and simple. Hybrid flicked his ears forward, raising his head slightly, watching the boy. The wolf was nothing here. Absolutely nothing. He had killed creatures for reasons more petty than trespassing. He would not be afraid to do it again.

heath is stupid

Aggression. They both reeked of it. The yote gave him nothing but an angry smile, white blade open to the world. Heath stood still, unsure of what to do. The other’s heightened stance was a sure advantage and though Heath was young, he knew better. Tail flicked nervously behind him, giving his unease away slightly. Red eyes closed ever so, peering at his face and body. Watching carefully at his stance, every movement that he made. It had been some time since he had encountered a beat so hostile. A small voice wondered how the Crimson Dreams pup had made it passed their watchdog.

Calling out at his lie Heath was lost at an answer. Who? Who the fuck would he say? Heath knew that this would arise and he had no name to give. His face clung to its current features, gold eyes watching and waiting for the other to strike. To foolish to run Heath felt he had a chance, a chance to figure out if his father was actually here. Looking at the tattered male he wondered if this scarred coyote was it. The yote's two eyes told him no. Actually don’t know his name. Honestly, a weakness that he was so suddenly too stupid to hide.

Hybrid paused, waiting and listening. The other male was examining him intently, shifting his gaze from Hybrid’s eyes to his face and body. And still, the silence continued. The boy did not say anything for a few seconds. When he did, Hybrid frowned, stiffening his tail and glaring down at the creature beneath him. “You don’t know,” Hybrid echoed flatly, “his name.” Then he fell silent, watching the boy’s honey-coloured eyes. He almost smirked, but the action mutated into a hostile grimace. Mercy for the poor, perhaps? No, just mirth. He was laughing to himself, but the boy would never know. Hybrid’s eyes darkened as he frowned, pulling back his tattered lips to bare his fangs once more. But still, he said nothing, watching the boy. Watching to see if he would flinch, move, or run; running would do him no good. For a moment, Hybrid wondered if he should believe the boy. Perhaps he had met someone from the clan. A male. Hybrid mulled this over, taking a moment to consider those in the clan that might be eligible. Gabriel? No. Everyone knew he was the leader. Giggle? Most likely not; his purple fur was not easily forgotten. Ezekiel? Perhaps. But he was the son of Gabriel and always would be. That was what defined him. This creature would know. There were two newcomers, whose names Hybrid did not know. One with blue and another who had accompanied Faolin on her return; Hybrid had yet to meet this fellow. But if this hybrid truly did know a member of Inferni, would he not supply his answer with a description?

You’re lying, Hybrid confirmed silently to himself. “Oh. That’s too bad,” Hybrid said, smiling faintly. He tilted his head to one side, allowing his expression to morph into a toothy grin.

So what? He didn’t know the guys name? Heath was growing more and more uneasy. Still the other male hadn’t descended from his high perch. Though if he had been in the same situation he would have kept his advantage. No! Actually he would have welcomed a lost young lad into his home, show him around and see if he could help in the search of a friend. This raggedy old brute was just being plain rude. Believing that the nameless beast was in the fault gave him courage and confidence, even if it both were hollow.

Yeah, I know huh? Agreeing with him might take his anger down a notch. But as soon as he hoped to appease the other male he turned to his arrogant foolish self. Taking his eyes from the male for the briefest moment Heath spoke, He only has one eye, and he’s a murderous asshole. Giving his shoulders a small shrug he returned his gaze to the crimson eyed yote. Thought he might be around here.

“Oh,” he said once more. He attempted a friendly smile, but he suspected the resulting appearance was the opposite of the intended. “We only have two-eyed murderous assholes here,” he replied with a small shrug. Hybrid was tempted to continue the thought and add his own first-hand experience of the sort. After all, he could easily be one of these 'murderous assholes' the child claimed to know, but unfortunately for the boy and fortunately for Hybrid, he had both his eyes in tact. He very much liked his eyes. They were the colour of dried blood. Like a scab or a wound. How poetic.

Thought he might be around here. The little bastard. Hybrid eyed the child as he continued to speak, smirking slightly. He was a haughty little shithead, wasn't he? Hybrid grinned. This time, it worked. His fangs were bared and his lips were drawn back (in amusement). “Looks like you're out of luck,” he commented, but said nothing else. Hybrid had exchanged words with far more foul creatures. He'd even had sex with them. The child was still probably shouting dangnabbit! and fiddlesticks! in his head. Hybrid's grin widened. A poor, lost child with nowhere to go.

maybe they can be friends? :]

Maybe he should go. The thought filtered through his brain, and his entirety buzzed with approval. It seemed like every part was in agreement. Any second and his tail would be turned and paws padding out and passed the severed heads that stood guard. But when there was no movement, he realized that he was frozen in place.

Eyes watched the male as his face changed, the emotions that played with the scared features just as confusing as the words that matched them. Golden eyes watched, the scarred beast’s mouth and traced the pink healed cuts up to his gaze. Heath knew that he himself was scarred a bit, but hoped that his face wasn’t the same as this beast. The boy cared about his looks, it was obvious that this one didn’t.

Still finding himself standing in the same spot he started to wonder what hold the ragged coyote had over him. To bad. The words shot from his mouth as if his voice didn’t even belong to him. Maybe he didn’t want to be another bitch that the yote scared off, or maybe he just did care what would happen. Or maybe he was searching for company. Before he could determine the answer he spoke again. I’m Heath, by the way. An introduction? What the fuck was wrong with him?

Only if Hybrid gets to eat him. >:K Or something. I'm not sure. I should PM you.

[html]
The boy's reply was quick and succinct. For a moment, Hybrid wondered if the child had thought it through. Too bad, the child had replied. Too bad for him, Hybrid thought, trying not to let his grin widen any further. It was ridiculous as it was. Hybrid felt like a damn clown. He frowned and loosened the muscles around his maw. He was no longer smiling. “For you, yes,” Hybrid replied. He raised his head a little to look down at the boy over his snout. On any attractive canine, it would have given him an air of self-importance, perhaps even dignity. On Hybrid, the slight tilt only made him look incriminating. Any semblance of prestige was removed from Hybrid's features. Of course, one could only remove such a thing if one possessed it to begin with. Hybrid had none. Thus, the thought that he removed his dignity was misleading. Hybrid was just a damned bastard looking down upon a child.

Hybrid tilted his head down and to one side as the boy spoke. He frowned, watching the child announce his name. For a moment, Hybrid was annoyed. Why the hell should he care? This was only some kid with a weird name. “So?” he queried. If the boy was giving Hybrid his name, that had to mean something, right? Hybrid wasn't sure. And when he was unsure of things, he generally attacked and asked questions later. It was simpler that way.

I’ll be on the lookout!

What was he waiting for? Heath couldn’t figure out why he was still standing there. In actuality he wasn’t sure they were both standing so still in their places. Was it that the ragged coyote had a formidable hold on him and he was nothing more then a scared pup wondering what he was doing wandering into a snake pit? It had been some time since Heath had thought of himself so small and young. Yes he would always be the scrawny one. Gael would always be the heavy weight while Heath just made the caught off for lightweight. Still he was more then just a pup with no way out. Why did he make him feel like one?

Unsure of what to make of his remark Heath thought again about leaving. There were even a few steps taken backwards. Though he refused to turn his back on the male, an instinctual fear that kept him facing forward, Heath couldn't help to look for a way out. Now looking down his nose at the tawny boy, the coyote no longer wore the smile. It was actually comforting, no longer looking as if he had a sinister plan for the lost youth. Now he just looked angered and annoyed. And with his own confusion and uncertainty around the male Heath knew no other way of reaction then with anger and frustration.

Instead of rolling over and showing his stomach Heath could only spout quick words, Its called an ‘introduction”. his tone wasn’t harsh and angry, more annoyed. The situation was impossible.

Hybrid's lip twitched. His scar had yet to completely heal, and since he had failed (read: forgotten) to seek medical attention for his wounds, he was now blessed with a number of scars. For some reason, he simply had not contacted Corona to enquire about the state of his wounds, and now, he had a nasty mess of a face. His lip twitched again. He frowned; this was getting annoying, like that wolf. He glanced over to see the wolf was still standing there, standing, standing, standing.

It spoke. Hybrid frowned, flattening his ears for a moment. "No," he replied. "It's called a death wish," he noted, narrowing his eyes. He regarded the wolf for a few seconds, but did not move. He continued to stare at the wolf, letting his gaze rest comfortably on the child's face. Hybrid remained still. He was annoyed, but strangely, a little amused. He wondered what the child would do. This was getting exciting. Maybe he could make this boy his pet and drag him around Inferni on a leash. A leash tied to the boy's throat, so it would slowly -- and excruciatingly -- strangle him to death. Hybrid resisted the urge to grin; he did not want this boy knowing his intentions. After all, Hybrid had yet to finalize the details.

They boy had nothing substantial, or at least he believed, in the way of scars. Of course he had some, many actually. But they were nothing more then crisscross scratches, nothing that he felt invoked any fear into those that looked at him. As he looked at the other male, who's face was covered with the wounds of battle, he saw that some even some that were fresh. But Heath was passed the point of admiring the other who bore the prizes that he wanted. Heath was finished.

Gold eyes watched him, looking at the frown and the swivel of ears. His words were no what Heath had expected, and eyes left the others face as he took them in. It was instinct to keep his posture frozen with silent aggression, and Heath brought his gaze back to him in hopes of hiding the weakness that his body portrayed. His short life had not prepared him to deal with someone with such an abrasive persona. But there was a magnetism that the predator held.

Heath's body was nothing more then a rabbit froze in the eyes of its hunter. As finished as the young male thought he was, and how ready he wanted to be to walk away. All he could do was let the groan fall form his throat before he gathered the words he spoke. "You fear me then?" Heath had proven himself, taking his sentence and waiting for his pending death. The male wasn't so brave?

They boy's question was sudden. Hybrid could not restrain his laughter. After such a long silence, with the boy staring at him (and for some reason, staring at his face for far too long), Hybrid found the child's question disconcerting. But in a really, really funny way. Hybrid tried to keep his balance and failed miserably; the deep guffaws emanating from his chest were so sudden that he slid on a few pebbles and had to wobble sideways awkwardly to prevent his fall. This child was no threat. He was a very, very stupid thing, but a funny one nonetheless.

Hybrid's laughs dissipated eventually. Instead, he grinned, regarding the boy with feigned intent. "Oh, yes, oh, oh, yes," Hybrid replied, grin widening. He wondered if that had been a sexual innuendo (and had he just replied with oh, yes, oh, oh, yes? Was that not slightly...?) Hybrid frowned, then grinned again. He tended to confuse himself when he thought too much like that. Thought in circles, thought in squares, thought in pentagons. Thought in nothing and nowhere. Thought of nothing but today and this funny child.

omg they confuse me, in a good way :]

Had he said something funny? Heath looked in surprise as he watched the nameless beast tumbling into a hit of laughter, if you would call it laughter. To the younger male’s ears it held that ragged voice in a tight fist, and was dragged from his throat with force. It was impossible for Heath to keep his face strait as he watched the old man loose his balance. That was what he was, an old man. As Heath thought more and more on the idea he became less intimidated. Maybe he was no more then a grump that needed to be warmed up. Maybe all Heath needed to do was warm him up and get on his good side. It was no longer about finding an exit, but about finding out who this man was and as much detail as he could get. He wanted scares like that, he wanted that intimidation and on his own handsome face he would look like a true rogue instead of the battered rat that he saw in the mangled coyote. I can be intimidating. He said in jest, hoping to keep the joke that the other found in his question. A smile came to his face and he wondered if maybe there would be a change in his demeanor.

I can be intimidating. Hybrid's grin widened. He was a maniac composed of toothy smiles and romantic fantasies. But the boy didn't know about the second part. Hybrid was a dreamer and a wisher, but he knew he expressed it in a different way then most did. Every time he clamped down on another creature's flesh, he knew he was doing the right thing. There was something intrinsically right with harming another. So much so that he refused to stop. If it felt this good, how could it be wrong?

Those four words made something stop. Hybrid returned to them, the young child's pleading, begging words. Hybrid snickered, his yellowed teeth visible. Again. Still. He had been doing a lot of this lately. Grinning and smirking. He felt like a snake. "Show me, then," Hybrid demanded. Hybrid would not trust anything this child said until he had verified it with his own two eyes. Hybrid wanted the boy to prove to him he was a failure. That now wolf-creature could threaten him. Maybe, if Hybrid was lucky, the boy would prove him wrong and Hybrid would reward him with the loss of an ear, an eye, a limb. Maybe not a limb. That was too much. Yes, then the boy wouldn't be able to find him again.

Was that an invitation? It was confusing, as was everything that came from the other male. He made no sense, his words holding a violent undertone no matter what he spoke of or what his voice truly tried to say. His body language gave him little as well, but Heath had been joking. Hadn’t he? The stranger challenged him even when he was obviously trying to be friendly. The frustration turned to anger, enough to make him take a solid step forward. It was a demand, and Heath’s face grew grim at the idea. He could decide if he should charge him of not, that would be suicide. Instead, the hybrid moved sideways. His attitude had changed, as had the air around him. It wasn’t hard to become serious, Would you let me leave, then? His voice deeper, reading himself for what was to come. I know better then to turn my back on something like you. He was certain that he would attack him the moment he gave him his backside.

"Only cowards deserve to be attacked from behind," he replied pointedly. If the boy turned his back on Hybrid, Hybrid would indeed attack. Unfortunately, it was the boy's very request that solidified that action. Hybrid was disappointed. The boy had proved him correct. He was nothing. Just a lonely wolf who couldn't even put some push behind his words. The boy came traipsing about their borders, and what does he do? Turn tail and run. Hybrid supposed that was better than standing around and insulting the coyote that greeted you (although, the boy had done a bit of that), he still didn't like the child. He was still that. Just a child. Barely past puphood, he bet. Too damn awkward and lanky, with eyes that blended in with his coat. How boring.

Hybrid regarded the boy, grimly attentive. He had wanted something to happen. But nothing did. The boy had backed down and Hybrid was still where he had began, slightly elevated over the other canine. They were back to the beginning and nothing had changed.

slight pp.

Heath stood his ground, his face as grim as the other’s. He had tried so hard, and nothing. The male just did nothing, spouting garbage and thinking that he was still something better. The thoughts ran through his mind, again and again. Still the scarred male thought he was godly, someone too great to even give his name while Heath begged for something more. He would have been happy with anything, and yet he gave nothing. And now he was coward. First he was a stranger, then he wasn’t worth the name he owned, then he wasn’t worth more then a sentence of explanation, and now he was a coward.

He wasn’t a child, not as he looked up at the other male sitting upon the pedestal that he had created for himself. It was foolish, but he moved with speed only a youth of his age could manage, but Heath still denied him what he wanted. He came so close that they could have touched noses, his ears, tail and head as tall as they could grow. Is this what the other wanted, did he want to share the breath that was expelled from the hybrid’s mouth? Turn around then. the words came with a growl that was unlike anything that he had shown the coyote thus far.

Aww, poor Heath's ego. Hybrid will kiss it and make it better!!!

[html]
The boy moved. Hybrid grinned. No. He was already grinning. But now it was real. Fuck, he had been doing a lot of this grinning thing. But now it was real. Now it was real. Now it felt like it meant something. Now that the child was close enough to see him. Hybrid wondered if the boy had bad eyesight. Maybe he did. Hybrid didn't know.

His grin widened. He could feel the boy's breath on him now. He licked his chops, refusing to break eye contact. Somewhere along the way, he had started staring at the boy's murky eyes. He hadn't stopped. Not even when the boy spoke. Hybrid felt something rip through his chest, an emotion of some sort. He resisted the temptation to wiggle his toes in excitement. Something was happening. Fuck, something was happening. Something was happening and Hybrid didn't know what to do. He could lunge at the boy and see what happened. Two things could happen. One would be more preferable than another, but Hybrid couldn't identify which one. Maybe he didn't need to. Maybe he just needed to need.

"Sorry," Hybrid replied, the meaning of the word lost as soon as he uttered it. He wasn't sorry for anything. "But I don't bottom."
