Private Ho-bag and Tammi!

........ ”Mommy!” The voice that called was light and childish. Noir Aston wagged her little tan tail, proud because she had led the Ho-man straight to the family den without getting lost. It did not happen often that the child managed to not find the den, but it had happened occasionally. Her golden eyes scanned the area for figures, but it seemed all her siblings were gone doing something else. It was odd to experience the family’s home so quiet. However, the warm and comforting smell of Tayui Aston was present, and the girl’s tail-wagging got out of control. Oh, boy, she had a lot to tell her ivory mother! The weird magical rock that was not a rock, but then it was a snakes baby and Ho-man said it was dangerous and made her sad, and so her mother had to yell at him.

........ The girl hurried to the den mouth, poking her face down into the darkness. ”Mommy! I found magic rock and it was not magic rock, it was egg and a baby with no hair and there is a man that took me away and he is here and he made I go away from baby and he is saysing you will kiss him and he is liar and liars are not nice!” He was going to hear it now! Noir was usually not this ‘mean’, but she really wanted to go back and see the snakes baby again. She turned to look at the man with the funny stride and the weird hat. She hoped he still did not think Tayui would kiss him, because or else he would be sad when she wouldn’t.

Honoré kept his trap shut on the way there, keeping both of his eyes on the fur ball walking ahead of him. A billion questions plagued his mind, all of them pertaining to his littermate. He didn’t say anything though, fearing that little Noir would change her mind and decide to lead him astray. She didn’t seem like a mean pup, but she was angry. Angry children often did terrible things. She had already called him a girl-man and a ho-man, amongst many other things. And according to her, his eyes were the color of light poo. Why was he even following her?

“You walk like penguin,” he said, suddenly seeking revenge for the insults she’d thrown at him. He had nothing else to do; picking on her would prove to be entertaining until they got there. The five-year-old male mimicked the way she wobbled about; exaggerating her every movement. Honoré didn’t torment her for long though, because the pup eventually stopped walking. They were close to what he assumed to be the family den. Noir confirmed that assumption when she called out for her mommy and blurted out everything he’d done. “Tattletale!” Damn kids. This meant war! He’d tell her mother everything she’d done, starting with the petty little insults.

It had been peaceful until a whirlwind came through. Or, that's what it sounded like. Tayui flicked her ears forward, pausing in her work for a moment to try and hear what was happening beyond the den. It sounded as though Noir was extremely... enthusiastic about something or other. For all of her children, that seemed to happen a lot. They were all so... excitable! Tayui chuckled, setting down the human item she'd found. She could not identify it by name, but she had seen it in books before. She would have to examine it later, as it sounded like Noir was coming toward the den. As the girl neared, Tayui was able to catch bits and pieces of her daughter's words. Tayui moved closer to the entrance, as she had been near the back where she kept all her items stored, to better hear her daughter. She found Noir standing at the entrance, jumping from one topic to the next. There was a magic egg (a rock? No, an egg), a baby with no hair, and a man who took her away? Tayui frowned, hoping this man had not kidnapped Noir! But no, Noir was here and, as Tayui tilted her head to look out the den, saw the man was standing here. "What did this man do now, Noir?" Tayui asked at last, trying to figure out if this man had taken her with good or bad intentions. She frowned, wondering what in the world had happened. She moved to stand in front of Noir, uncertain if this male was a threat or not. She ducked out from the den, regarding the male for a moment before she burst into a wide grin. "Honoré? Is that you?!" she shouted, her fears evaporating. Honoré was too much of a poopyhead (as she had called him in the days of her youth, and now recalled quite fondly) to be of any real threat to Noir.

........ The man’s words drifted around and around in her head, and she couldn’t take it anymore. Her mother came into view through the dark, and the girl padded towards her, her tail waving uncontrollably around everywhere. Mommy was here and it was time for her to tell Ho-man to find her baby and stop being cruel and a liar. Her mother poked her head out to take a look at the adult that had followed her daughter home, and Noir’s face turned to Honoré, a little self-content grin spreading on her face. She had warned him that her mother would be angry, and now he would face the consequences. The girl could not recall having acted so devilishly.. ever. She was not sure if she liked herself, but the man had made her sad and a bit angry. Worst of all, she had lost both a magic rock and an egg with a baby that she could have pretended was her own.

........ Her mother came with a question, but Noir’s mind had already managed to drift to a name the white man had called her. Mommy, what is a penguin?” Her heart sank a bit when her mother decided to smile at the stranger. A smile? Was mommy so angry that she started to smile? Then it became obvious that Tayui knew the Ho-man, and the girl fell backwards on her bum, feeling very confused, because the man had not said he had known her mother. ”He was mean, he took I from my no-haired baby!” This was important! He had taken Noir’s newborn baby from her, and he had been mean! She needed her mother to shout and be angry and scare the unpleasant man away! What if Noir told her that he had carried her in a strange way upside down! Would she smile then, knowing what her daughter had been through?! ”Mommy! He held Noir upside down and carried I away!”

He really didn’t like the way the pup was smiling at him, so he stuck his tongue out at her. She was a brat, an ungrateful one at that. Honoré had saved her life and was now getting hell for it. Hazel-colored eyes did not leave his target, too focused on the twisted child to spare at look at her mother. “You little-“ he started, shaking his right fist in her direction. He was going to get her back for ruining his day! Before he even had time to say anything else, the brat’s mother moved in to protect her penguin-like daughter.

His gaze met hers and the world stopped spinning. Those eyes, he knew them well. It made sense now. Little Noir was annoying, just like Tayui had been at that age. And they both seemed keen on associating him with poo. He was dumbfounded. Instead of saying something intelligent, his eyes wandered from his sister to the pea-brained child. Honoré was at a loss of words. “Good to see you” didn’t seem like an appropriate thing to say, and he couldn’t think of anything else.

Noir spoke up again, breaking the uncomfortable silence that had settled between the two adults. She wasn’t done ratting him out, obviously. "Why don’t you tell your mommy you call me a girl and say my eyes are poo?!” he blurted, cutting the girl’s last sentence short. He turned to his sister and promptly explained the situation before she got involved. “Eille! Elle est fatiguante! Elle voulait adopter un bébé serpent et j’lui ai dit non! C’est tout!" he exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air.

A penguin? For a moment, Tayui paused in her smiles and thoughts, surprised Noir had chosen to answer her question with a question of her own. But a penguin? Tayui frowned. She hoped Honoré had not said anything to hurt Noir. This couldn't possibly be a result of trauma, could it? Tayui frowned, trying to recall the days of her childhood. Honoré had been, well, odd. She recalled that he had that effect on some people - leading them in circles they never wanting to go. Tayui regarded Noir for a moment, mulling the question over in her head. "They're a black and white bird that live in cold places. They can't fly, but they... wobble around. A lot," Tayui replied. She did not want to confuse Noir by giving her too much information (Tayui had been told she often did that -- talked about one topic for much longer than she needed to!), but at the same time, she had no idea where this question had come from.

Tayui leaned down to nuzzle her daughter as she spoke, moving in to smooth out Noir's fur with her tongue. The girl looked quite distressed now that she was answering Tayui's question. "A no-haired baby? And carried you upside down?" Tayui repeated, then glanced up at her brother, questions forming on the tip of her tongue. Noir had called him a girl and said his eyes were... poo? Tayui stifled a smirk. She could understand the last part, since Honoré always had reminded her of fecal matter. But a girl? Tayui tilted her head, torn between trying to examine Noir's reasoning and chastising Noir for calling Honoré names. She went with the latter. She could always ask Noir about this... poo comment later. "That wasn't very nice, Noir," Tayui said to her daughter. "You might have hurt Honoré's feelings. You don't want to hurt his feelings, now. You don't like it when your feelings are hurt," she finished, leaning down to nuzzle her daughter once more.

Tayui straightened up when she heard Honoré begin to speak, pausing for a moment when she realized he was speaking to her in French. Tayui had not used French in a very, very long time, so she was only able to catch bits and pieces of it. Tayui heard fatiguante, annoying, adopter, adopt, and serpent... snake? Tayui managed to make out most of the sentence, but those three words seemed to hold the essence of the conflict. A no-haired baby must have been a snake. Oh, dear. She would have to explain to Noir why snakes were not things to play with, even a baby. "Je comprends," she mouthed to Honoré. It seemed as though she remembered some of her native language.

At this, she turned to Noir, frowning. "Noir, sweetie, do you know what a snake is?" Tayui did not know if she had a book with a picture of one, but she would explain it as best she could. "It's long, with no legs or arms. Scaly. And it slithers around. But it has big, big teeth that can hurt. You have to be careful; Uncle Honoré lifted you up because the snake might have hurt you, and you don't want that, and neither do I," she stated, punctuating the last three words by licking Noir's cheek affectionately.

........ A strange joy drifted into her system for only a moment. This has to be how Attila was feeling all the time while bullying everything and everyone. Her confidence instructed her to feel slightly bad about it all though. Fair was fair though. In the child’s mind, he had treated her wrongly and made her lose an interesting new pet that she could have played mother and child with. He had ruined a pretty day by being mean to her, and for no reason. Her mother seemed to hesitate before she came with an explanation to what a penguin was, and the child presented a sour frown instantly. Why, Noir was not white and black! Wobble around? Noir did not wobble! It was not fair. Her mother’s gentle touch and nuzzle could not soothe her damaged pride. She would never be able to walk ever again!

........
The next was even worse. Her mother corrected her and said that she had been mean. It was so not fair! The corners of her lips dropped together with her mood. This was not fair. The explanation was served into partly deaf ears. Noir very rarely caused trouble for her mother, but she was now officially upset. He had been so mean to her, yet she was the one that got the firm voice. It was not fair, why was it like that! ”No!”, the child sung out, stepping away from her mother and her love. ”He called I penguin, said I had big bum, and that something would sting I’s bum, and that babies are mean, and tattletale!” the last name was the worst one of them all! It was not fair! ”And he was making funny moves with his bum and almost stepped on I!” Why couldn’t Mommy recognize that Ho-man was the bad guy?

It was his turn to grin. As his littermate explained what a penguin was, Honoré intently studied the child’s face. Noir frowned, and he smiled. She had indeed hurt his feelings, and now she was getting reprimanded for it. Hello victory! Just when he’d thought the pup was all out of ammo, the brat went ahead and revealed how he’d nearly stepped on her. Honoré’s face dropped, completely taken aback by the unexpected announcement. Maybe the kid did have a brain after all.

Hazel eyes reluctantly turned to meet his sister’s bi-colored gaze, half-wondering if she’d heard that last part. He knew he couldn’t get in trouble for almost stepping on her daughter. But what embarrassed him the most was the reason why he’d nearly crushed her to death. And thanks to Noir’s big mouth, he now had to justify his actions… again. “It’s not funny moves with bum, its supermodel walk ok?! It takes a lot of concentration, and I’m was concentrating, and then I almost went squish on her.” he retorted, an indignant look on his face. Stepping on her now seemed like a good idea. She was an annoying little bug, and annoying little bugs deserved to be squashed.

Oh, was her most immediate reaction. So that was where the penguin came in. Tayui shook her head, leaning down to smooth Noir's frazzled fur with her tongue. Tayui was about to reply to Noir when Honoré interjected with his own explanation. Tayui tried to catch her brother's eye to try and tell him to stop, but she was not quick enough. A supermodel, now? Did Noir even know what that was? Tayui was uncertain how much Noir knew of the human culture, and hoped the statement go right over her head. She did not need Honoré attempting to explain what that was! Instead, she decided to pursue one of Noir's other statements. Leaning down, she asked her daughter, "Sweetie, do you think you have a big bum? I think your bum is just the right size for a puppy, just like Honoré's bum is fine for a grown-up luperci." In a last attempt to salvage her daughter's pride, she added, "And I'm sure Toefur would agree." Tayui straightened up to survey the den, hoping to find Toefur lying around conventiently. Unfortunately, she could not spot the pink stuffy anywhere. Perhaps he was hiding in the back somewhere.

"And perhaps we should ask Uncle Honoré to be a little more careful when he is... walking," she said, nudging her daughter lightly with her nose. She looked up, trying to catch her brother's eye. She raised her eyebrows, then nodded in his direction. She would have to speak to him about a few things, it seemed! And, of course, get caught up on four years spent apart.

Figured they could get some time alone without Noir. 300+

........
Moving his bum like that had been silly! So, so silly! Supermodel was a word that was foreign to her, so she just assumed it was a super version of something, but it did not make it look not stupid. Her mother’s soothing words should be helping, but the tan girl could not get over the fact that she had been put in place, but not the Ho-man. She was well aware of what she had said, and she knew that she had been hard on the man and said unpleasant things, but truth be told, he was an adult and had been cruel to her. If he had explained everything properly to her just like her Mommy always did, then things would not have gone this far. Noir’s ears sunk depressively as her mother explained bums and what was normal for bums. When Toefur’s name sounded in the air, she gave a little wag with her tail as she started to wonder where she had seen him last.

........
”I don’t likes Ho, Noir do not want him as uncle.” The girl did not really understand what an uncle was, but it did not seem to be a pleasant thing if the Ho-man was one. The nudge pushed the girl slightly sideways The girl got up and turned towards the den, determined Toefur had to hide down there somewhere. She made sure to lean towards her mother for a moment before she vanished into the darkness, creamy tail moving behind her. Toefur always improved her mood, and perhaps the stupid man would get jealous if he saw Toefur because he had no Toefur. Yes. Noir was not done with this man yet. She did not particularly like the way she was feeling and the intentions that had made her go after Toefur, but it was something new, and she was not sure how to deal with it differently.

Honoré frowned, not quite understanding what a Toefur was, or why the child cheered up momentarily after hearing its name. It bugged him greatly, but he kept quiet. Maybe they just wanted to confuse him. Or maybe Toefur was another one of Tayui’s kids. His face dropped at that thought; he didn't really like the idea of having another brat on his hands. Noir was enough. How many did she have anyway? His niece caught his attention before he could ask, with that rude comment of hers. “Hey you don’t say that to family, penguin!” he called out after her, obviously not mature enough to ignore the brat.

He then turned to Tayui, meeting his sister’s bi-colored gaze with a sheepish smile and a shrug of his shoulders. Now that it was just the two of them, the Valley wolf felt a little self-conscious. They hadn’t seen each other in far too long. He hadn’t expected to see her again but there she was, standing in front of him. She was healthy and beautiful, and the mother of an adorable yet annoying fur ball. What else had he missed out on? “Who's a Toefur?” he asked, in an attempt to keep silence at bay.

Tayui glanced at her daughter, seeing the realization dawn. Noir did not look too happy with this whole big bum, little bum, walking like a penguin fiasco Honoré had managed to so eloquently engineer, and Tayui wasn't surprised. Tayui opened her mouth to add something as Noir leaned against her, but decided against it, snapping her mouth shut. She smiled at her daughter as she ran off to find her pink octopus stuffy.

As soon as she was gone, Tayui leaned over to where her brother was and reached out, whipping her paw to smack him on the head. She frowned at her brother, pausing for a few moments before speaking.

"Toefur is her pink octopus stuffed toy. If you insult that too, I will make sure you walk like a penguin," she replied malevolently. He was such an idiot. Tayui had been a silly child when she had been younger, but she had grown out of it. Apparently, Honoré had not. She paused, wondering where he had been all these years; first Aurèle found her, and now Honoré! At least she didn't thinkk her brother was a ghost like she had Aurèle. She grimaced, recalling that day, and how her sister had edged around the topic of her family. Tayui suspected even Aurèle -- the smartest one in their litter, no less -- had not known Honoré was still alive.

Tayui shook her head, plastering a wide grin on her face. "Honoré! It's so good to see you! Where have you been all these years?" She had to remain optimistic. Her brother was here and her sister was nearby. If they were lucky, perhaps Barthélémy would grace them with his esteemed presence as well! If Tayui remembered correctly, he had been just as weird as Honoré.

His sister’s paw collided with the top of his head, and the unexpected blow reverberated throughout his body. Honoré remained impassive for a moment, as if unable to pinpoint where the slap had come from. In one swift movement, she’d managed to stun him and wound his ego at the same time. How rude! His lower lip curled into an exaggerated pout, clearly unhappy with the punishment she’d given him. “Eille! You calm down!” he grumbled, rubbing the top of his head. His pain-in-the-ass littermate had apparently turned into a crabby lady. He could see where Noir’s attitude hailed from.

So Toefur was a stuffed toy. He felt better now, knowing that Tayui hadn’t named any of her kids “fur toes”. He half-snickered at that idea, lowering his gaze to meet his paws. He too, had fur on his toes. But then again, who didn’t? His maw parted, ready to mock his niece’s lack of imagination, when a threat assaulted his fragile ears. They flattened instantly, shielding his head from another possible blow. Although he highly doubted her statement’s credibility, the Québécois chose not to challenge her. Walking like a penguin definitely wouldn’t make him popular with the ladies.

Then everything about his sister changed; her frown turned into a genuine smile, leaving Honoré more than a little confused. She was happy now? Hazel-colored eyes narrowed suspiciously, wondering how her mood could’ve changed so suddenly. Hormones were the cause, more than likely. “I was at home. Then everyone left. Bart was last one there with me and then poof, could not find him anymore.” he said with a frown, clearly still bothered by his brother’s disappearance.
