For Tokyo. 300+

The sun was shining brightly and there was not a cloud to be seen in the sky. It was such a beautiful day that the mother could hardly believe it. With the sun beating down so strong on her ebony coat and a crisp, cool breeze it was almost perfect. She heaved a happy sigh as she looked down at the faces of her three beloved children, her tail waving behind her. "Are you all ready to take a walk with mommy?" All at once they gave their exuberant replies, even little Cambria. Laughing she leaned her head down to nuzzle each of them. "Alright, alright, but do you remember the ground rules?" She had told them that morning, but she wanted to make sure that the instructions had stayed in their heads. "Stays close!" Amata piped. "Dun goes ups to stwangers," Gotham replied with a curt nod. "Listens to whats oo's says an' obeys," came Cambria with the final answer. "Very good my loves. Now we can go!" With that the little group headed off.

The little cream girl decided to lead the way, taking off in the direction of grasshoppers and other insects that caught her eyes. Gotham would sometimes swerve off a little far, but would realize his mistake and run back to Savina's side before she even had the chance to correct him. As always, her little chocolate girl was sticking right to her side, not even the butterflies a good enough temptation. She had never been so far from the mansion and she didn't want anything bad to happen! The Lt. General noted that the borders weren't too far off, within sight actually, but she stuck to her daughter's course. It wouldn't need to be altered quite yet. While she doubted any hostile strangers would be so close to the pack boundaries she wasn't about to take any chances with her pups.

No sooner than she thought that she heard her son give a little yelp and she turned to see tears rolling down his face. He was seated on his rump and he held one of his forepaws up in the air. "Honey! What happened?" Concern permeated her voice and she came up to him. "It hurtss!!" Upon closer inspection she saw a burr had gotten lodged into his delicate pad. "It's okay dear, just hold still, mommy will take that out." Savina closed her eyes and concentrated on shifting. She could have probably gotten it out in her four-legged form, but it would be easier with hands. Knowing that her brother was going to be alright, Amata quickly lost interest in the little crisis. She saw a bird off a little ways away and started plodding after it. It was only a little ways after all, she wouldn't get in trouble, right? Little did she know she was moving closer and closer to the borders.

tiny bit of powerplay, hope you don't mind, let me know if you'd like me to change it! 330 words.

Tokyo was not in a good mood. Two days ago the idea had struck her to explore, to poke around and figure out where the other packs of the land were. She was pretty sure she had found all the packs east of home; she had run into the brain-fever wolf from the place called Phoenix Valley, and pretty thoroughly wandered the unclaimed areas before stumbling onto Dahlian lands. She had struck out to the south, slightly westward. If she had thought her pack's territory was large, the forest she had encountered was huge.

It had fallen dark before she had realized just how much time she'd spent; the place was completely empty, and creeped her out. Too scary to navigate when not even the starlight could pierce through the foliage. So she spent the night, and come this morning, she continued through the forest, too stubborn to consider turning around. When she broke free and explored enough to content her brief flare of wanderlust, she'd just follow the edge of that forest back up towards Dahlia - no way was she going back in there, even if it added a couple days to her journey.

Finally, though, she was out. The scent of a pack-land hit her strong, and she was drawn curiously towards it. Food had been too scarce in that place. She wanted to tip-toe across onto their pack-lands, grab a rabbit or just a mouse or two, maybe a nice drink from a cool stream, and scurry off to take a midday nap on the safer side of the border. Almost immediately after she crossed the line, there was a rustling in the brush. Tokyo wasn't a great hunter, and so when the opportunity presented itself so tidily she took it before fully considering the situation. It was only after she had pounced and landed on top of the small, wriggling, furry thing that she realized as rodent-like as it was, this was a wolf puppy, not prey.

It's all good Smile

The young girl's eyes watched the bird intently. It was a pretty bird, it had a bright orange chest. She thought that either mommy or daddy had told her the name of it, but she couldn't remember it now. It was pecking at the ground. What was it looking for? Maybe treasure? No that was silly. What did a bird need with treasure? Then her question was answered through observation as the bird pulled a worm from the ground and gobbled it down. Ooooh! So it was looking for food. Amata looked between her paws, seeing if there were any worms. Nope. Did they taste good? It looked kinda slimy, but that didn't mean it wasn't good necessarily.

The bird hopped away, looking for more worms and the young Sadira followed. She didn't even notice that the sounds of her family were becoming more and more distant. Being so caught up in her birdwatching she wasn't aware that she was breaking one of the ground rules that momma had given her. And Savina, being so intent on Gotham, did not notice her daughter moving further and further away. The pup followed the bird up and over a hill, putting her out of direct sight of her parent.

Then suddenly the bird took off in flight. Amata stumbled after it and was about to call for it to come back when her world became jumbled. Some large thing descended upon her and she screamed in surprise. What the heck was going on? Instinctively she curled up into a ball, her eyes clamping shut. Though when nothing else happened she looked up into the face of another wolf. The cream pup's brows knit together, lips pursing. "Wha yous thinks yous doin'!?" Amata didn't mind surprises, but she didn't know this lady so the pounce had been unwelcome (and not too playful either).

I feel bad just writing this. Tokyo is so much meaner than I could ever be. XD. You can have Amata dodge Tokyo's blow or get hit by it, either way~ 362 words.

"What do you think you're doing!" Tokyo retorted in exasperation. This pup would most definitely not be making a good meal. First of all, because, ew, it was a wolf. Second of all, it was tiny and the Dahlian wolf would get into like a ton of trouble. As unexpected as the creature had been in the first place, in those few scant seconds she had gotten her hopes up for some food, and was as upset at having those hopes dashed as she would over any foiling of a long-term plan. And since it was not Tokyo's fault, was certainly not ever Tokyo's fault, thus the logical creature to blame was this damned puppy.

She laced her tongue with venom: "You must have a bad mother, for her not to be taking care of you! Why are you so near the borders? Don't you know it's dangerous? Doesn't she love you enough to keep you with her?" Tokyo had never ever let Princess out of her sight. Well, the past tense was especially relevant, because technically Princess was out of the Dahlian's sight now, and had been since she ran away in the middle of the night months ago. But before then, before her daughter had betrayed her, Tokyo had been an amazing mother!

The older female backed up, giving the puppy some distance, but not before batting the child with her paw in annoyance. Not a particularly strong hit; just the average sort of blow that her son had receieved when he was found playing with Princess' toys. Strong enough to sting, strong enough to remember that you had done something wrong. It was a lesson; the easiest way to teach a kid that was dumb enough to make such mistakes. "Get out of here, kid. And don't tell anyone I was here, or I'll come and get you in the night." Those sort of threats usually worked well enough against puppies, at least in a majority of the situations where Tokyo had encountered them when crossing pack boundaries. And then once the puppy was gone, she could get back to the more important matter at hand.. catching something to eat.

Lmao she's awful XD Enter pissed as hell Savina. 300+

What was this lady's problem? Was she stupid? Amata lived her. Her mommy helped run the pack and it was clear that this woman didn't belong. So she was the one who was in the wrong place. "I lives here n' yous don's! So you's da ones that shoulds be expwainin'!" The pup didn't understand where this adult thought she was, but this was Crimson Dreams and she couldn't just come here without permission! Amata didn't know much, but she did know that! And she especially shouldn't be pouncing on people she didn't know. That was just rude and not okay! Somewhere in the back of the girl's mind it registered that this was why her mother had told her to stay close, but that was not what was concerning her right now, it was this crazy lady.

The cream pup felt herself get mad when this stupid woman said mean and not nice things about her momma. "My momma's da best momma eva! She wuves me an' is nice an' pwettier than yous!" If this wolf was going to be so mean then she would be mean right back! "An' I's not awones! She's wight ova dere's!" she said motioning with her head to where her mother, brother, and sister were. Amata looked back and didn't see them and only then realized that she had wandered too far away. Oh no, mommy was going to be mad at her for doing that. She hadn't obeyed the rules. But she would still come and save her from the mean lady, wouldn't she?

The burr had been removed from Gotham's paws and his tears had dried. Savina had just finished shifting back down to her lupus form when she saw that Amata was not with them. Panic struck the mother's heart and she heard voices just over the hill. "Gotham, Cambria, follow me but stay behind me." The fur along the Lt. General's spine rose and her emerald eyes were piercing. She crested the small hill just to see the intruder hit her daughter. "OW!" Amata cried, slinking backwards. Rage overtook the dark wolfess and a vicious snarl came from her throat. She leaped over Amata and aimed to shoulder the stranger and knock them over. Her eyes burned with green fire and her ivory fangs shimmered dangerously against her obsidian lips. Ears were plastered against her head as her fur stood on end. "Get the hell out if you value your life," she growled. She wouldn't hesitate to rip this female apart.

Rofl Savina scares even meee, and I'm safe behind the computer screen. XD. I'm not sure how long Tokyo's would actually stay once her attempts to salvage the situation fail, she's pretty good at self-preservation. 573 words

Puppy-speech was annoying in and of itself, but given the situation Tokyo was getting extra annoyed by the non-stop rambling. The older female was tuned out, waiting for the child to finish her rambling and just get out of her way. It was also frustrating how her threat didn't seem to work, because the puppy was still here and still talking. It wasn't until a few seconds after the creamy puppy said something about not being alone that Tokyo's mind translated and fully comprehended the words. Oh, shit. She tensed her muscles, ready to spring away, to avoid the situation, but it hit her full-throttle before she was able to escape.

Umm, yeah. This big black female was probably the kid's mother. And she had two more disgusting little furballs cowering behind her. And yeah, the situation hitting her full-throttle? Not just a pretty figure of speech dancing through her thoughts. Tokyo was knocked over by the force of the impact, easily sent sprawling. She was far from a heavy-weight, and even with a more steady source of food she was still pretty malnourished. Terror clung to the inside of her throat, and she couldn't breathe enough, couldn't get enough air. Well, fuck. She couldn't run now anyway, she was just going to die, die because the dumb puppy would just run.

No. She had to remain calm. Just because the situation was out of her control at the moment didn't mean she couldn't figure a way out of this without losing her hide. Tokyo couldn't just leave; not until her breathing settled down a little. Theoretically, she could still turn around and walk.. but she didn't trust this crazy mother, this offended pack member, to not jump on her back and.. something. Hurt her, probably. Also, she'd have to stand up, and her shoulder was sore from the impact of the dark female and she probably got a scrape or two from hitting the ground. Her ears fell flat against her head, her tail was already curled up tightly against her belly, rendered invisible by the creamy adult's sprawled position. Terror for her life brought out proper respect from Tokyo like few other things in the world did.

Tokyo needed to think quickly. Did the mother actually see her hit the child? Maybe not. She wasn't really paying enough attention to when the dark form appeared in sight. It's possible she didn't actually witness the encounter, and was just enraged by the terror written all over her child. "I'm sorry if I've offended - your daughter was just about to stray over the border, and I happened to be walking by. It's dangerous for her to be leaving the lands. There's a puppy-eating wolf roaming the territories, and I told her she should go back to her mother." She was remarkably pleasant and cheerful, her attitude a complete one eighty degree change from the venom she was spitting out earlier when the danger was less immediate. Very slowly, so that everyone could see what she was doing, she unsteadily got back on her feet, shaking herself to remove the dust that clung to silky fur. She was banking on two facts: the kid might be too upset to counter Tokyo's story, and the mother might not have witnessed her hitting her daughter. If either of those fell through, well, she'd evaluate the situation and revise her story from there. She'd lied her way through worse dilemmas.

Yeah, she's a force to be reckoned with when she's angry XD And that's ok if it's a short thread, I don't mind Smile 300+

Satisfaction ran through the enraged female as she felt her shoulder make contact with the intruder and saw her form stumble and sprawl backwards. Good. That would teach the bitch to not touch her children. She reeked of Dahlia and that almost raised her ire even more. This was not the first time a Crimson Dreams pup had been harassed by a member of their neighbor to the north. She didn't understand it. How such scum came from the pack that her friend led. Amata had slunk back to where her brother and sister were and all three of the children looked on with a sense of fear. They had never seen their mother like this before.

Savina's eyes bore into the flesh of the tan female and her tail snapped around behind her like an angry snake. She clenched her jaws together as the wretch had the nerve to talk and come up with some cock and bull story about her trying to keep her daughter out of danger. Did she think she was a blind fool? Well, the woman would quickly learn the folly of such an assumption. "Thas not troos! She's wying!" Amata called out indignantly. What was wrong with that lady? She had been so mean and now she was trying to act all nice. Her mother wouldn't buy into the stranger's story, she knew she wouldn't. And Savina certainly didn't. She had seen the creature strike her child and such an action would not go unpunished.

A warning growl rumbled in her chest as the Dahlian rose back to her feet, but at least she was smart enough not to try and make an offensive move towards either mother or pups. Fiery orbs narrowed as she stared the woman down. "That was before you hit my child?" she countered dangerously. She didn't eat any of the bullshit this female was trying to feed her. The woman had been warned once to leave, but apparently that hadn't been enough. The dark wolf lunged forward, jaws open and she snapped at the other. She didn't necessarily intend to buy purchase in her flesh, but if she did so be it. After that she retreated a step or two, her eyes still glaring. They sent the clear message that if she chose to stick around and spout more lies that the next attack wouldn't be a warning.

short ending post, sorry! 207 words.

Wellll, it appeared that both the puppy called her bluff and the mother had witnessed Tokyo's striking of the child. Her mind scrambled, desperately trying to come up with something to say, something to absolve her of her crime. Reflexively she denied the accusation: "I didn't touch her!" But before she was able to figure out the frame of a lie, let alone the words to explain it, the dark female snapped at her.

Stumbling backwards, Tokyo gave up. This situation was beyond repair. If the mother was going to be
so violent, she wasn't going to waste words clearing her name. It wasn't like there was much of a chance of repercussion; this was a different pack, and she never intended to return to these borders again. And it wasn't like the stranger knew her name, even if for some weird reason she decided to pursue her. Sure, the Dahlian scent hung heavily on her, but that was all the more reason not to try and get vengeance on Tokyo. Her pack would protect her. That was.. the point of being in a pack, no? She turned away and hurried off as quickly as her freshly bruised form and tightening lungs would allow, aiming for home.
