Firefly's fur was streaked with blood, she was weary and tired but atleast she knew that the girl with the serpent tongue would live to see another day. She was shaken at the fact that Svara didn't seem to even know who she was but even worse than that was the feeling that they weren't even safe within the unclaimed lands. She listened while DaVinci told the others just what they needed to do to keep Svara calm and quiet, how to check for infection and to cleanse the wounds. It was a long drawn out speech and it would have seemed amusing to her knowing that DaVinci wasn't a healer by nature if this moment in time wasn't so sobering. Within moments it seemed that DaVinci had found the end to his speech and had bid the others goodbye. Too much was happened too quickly for the fierce woman. She turned away from the group of friends as she suddenly realized that she needed air, she needed out.

There was nothing left for them out there in the open fields and forests alone. She stumbled out into the yard and buried her face into her arms as she leaned against the old oak tree that stood all alone. She was too drained to even cry but the disgust and bitterness seemed to boil in her blood as she pounded the rough bark of the tree with her fist The scent of her own blood filled her nose as she curled her fingers into a ball once more after surveying the damage she'd done to herself. She let out an angry snarl as she turned away from the massive tree to stare at the open door of the cabin behind her.

The time had already past for them to belong together as a pack but the warning the subleader of Dahlia de Mai had left had made it clear the world would not let them survive alone. She threw her head back and called to the wolves near and far to return to them. She had no clue where Ruri was nor did she know who else out there might answer the call but it was here and now and they needed to get everything in place and together before it was too late and the bastard struck again.

OoC: I said night was falling - is that correct? :O I can edit it to another time if I messed up!

The day had been long and harrowing for all of them. If not for the silver wolf's medical expertise and lucky proximity, Svara would have died from the mauling she received, no doubt about it. When she got her wits about her, Jacquez had a lot of questions he wanted answers to. For now, she could rest with her Leroy at her side. The collie-hybrid leaned against the wall, dark eyes pensive. He was all too familiar with gang violence, turf wars, racism, the like. He had left a harsh world, and it appeared he had crash-landed right back into the same mess, only this time with less friendly faces on his side. He had left his guard down too long - he needed a real kingdom, with shelters, defenders, and perhaps a nice barricade at the borders. The wreckage of his ship kept washing on shore, bit by bit. They could put the weathered planks to one last task, a fence to keep marauders occupied until the men put them in their place.

Jac's folded ears perked upright at the close sound of Firefly's howl, a melodic cry to draw them together. Without wolf blood in his makeup, his own howl was much more distinct and far less sing-songy than his lupine companions'. The lean canine peered through the open doorway, dark eyes adjusting to the shadowy outdoors. The sun was setting. Night would draw them closer. "Petite soleil, do not languish by your lonesome... You know I'm in here," he called softly, light accent colouring his words as he used his pet name. He was still curious as to why the wild and wayward Firefly had taken a mate - he still knew naught of her children! - but he would rather focus on building a band of loyal mongrels before delving into her sordid past. For now, they needed the protection that numbers could give them. He beckoned her inside with one pale-white finger, knowing that the stress had worn them all down.

Leaving the cabin was strange for Leroy, he knew the others where there with Svara but yet ever since she asked who he was had left a wounded spot in him. Walking back with yet another meal his mind was at least busy for the moment, though the simple hunt did not do much since he lost the larger deer. Resulting in the small doe that the husky hybrid carried, it really didn't matter if part of the doe dragged against the ground because of the fact the meat was beneath the fur. Leroy wasn't sure how things were going to be now, but he was sure on the fact they could no longer wait; they must band together now. Curly tail swayed behind his patterned form as Leroy's ears turned at the call of Firefly, no panic filled him by the sound of her tone. Walking towards the cabin Leroy soon approached the scene of Firefly outside while Jacquez hung out of the door with his hand stretched towards her. Ears flickered as he neared the the steps of the cabin with deer in his company, glance at the two before he released the doe letting it drop to the floor. "Everyone needed some food" Looking inside the door for a second Leroy could smell Svara but he turned his attention back to Firefly and Jac. "I'll clean it up for us if your hungry now." His deep voice remained calm but slightly different.

OOC:this is a chance for him to explain what happened.

"Do you like it when I touch you?"
"Yes papa"
"Why do you like it Svara?"
"Because I love you."

She opened her eyes, rather saw out of one while the other was open. The dreamers words lingered, pumping through her brain not making sense. Who was Svara and why was she talking to her father like her lover? The red she wolf moaned and rolled her head and finally reality started to sink in. Fresh pain spiked up in ever part of her body. Her teeth clenched and she held back the scream of pain, she didn't want the strangers to touch her again, didn't want the blue eyed demon to touch her again.

Her body stung and it burned worse then it had when the wounds hadn't been treated with cleanser. The bastard hadn't needed to use something so strong. Tears came to her eyes as she fought off the pain with each breath she took. Her yellow eye looked over to the side, all around her. It wasn't the sight of the place that was familiar, it was the smell, the herbs. She didn't look at anyone around her, the strangers didn't matter, they didn't know what was best.

The stranger who had held her so lovingly was gone now. His scent weaker then it had been before. Pushing up her wounds screamed in protest, she didn't care. Pushing up more she looked over to what she wanted. A deer skin pelt where the scent lingered. Gasping, she moved towards it on unstead and weak legs, the pain unimaginable. Getting to the deer skin she wrapped herself in it and sighed. The hot cinnomon scent of the male was thick on the dead animals hide. It was comforting, better then any other thing around her. Their voices mingled and clashed making her want to listen to them. Wanting to ask them who the blue eyed demon was that had done this to her, tell her everything she no longer knew. Because there was nothing the she wolf hated more then being weak and lost. At least she didn't now, had she before?

Haven sat in the corner of the entryway of the small cabin. His muscles felt tired, even though he hadn't done much of the work. Burnt orange fingers ran through his snowy mane as a sigh came from his chest. He couldn't believe what had happened. Never had he seen such brutality. It disgusted him. Sure, Svara hadn't been on his list of most favorite people, but what had been done to her was appalling. Nobody could have possibly deserved that. The girl had a sharp tongue, but that was too much. Much too much. Any ill feelings he had had towards her were dismissed for now. Now he was just glad that she was alive.

Leroy had left a while ago, for what reason he wasn't sure. While he was ignorant of the fact that the two were mates, he could have guessed. Only when you loved someone did you act in such a way. Then Firefly had run outside and Jac had leaned out the door to call her back in. The woman's howl split the air, calling for anyone who was not around to return. He had been a little hesitant at first about joining their group, but today had changed his mind. They needed someone to protect them. Haven might not be the best one for the job, but he was sure as hell going to do his best.

Movement coming from the room Svara was in made his ears twitch. "Jac...I think she's awake," he said as he used the wall to help him back to his feet.

Still waters run deep

The blind female had just made it back to the cabin when she heard Firefly's howl. Ruri's close proximity to the call had left her sensitive ears ringing slightly, although she didn't mind. She still wasn't sure what was wrong with Svara, although she had gathered certain ideas about what had happened. From what she understood, Svara did not remember anyone and she was hurt severely. Everyone had been shouting so much and Ruri hadn't wanted to add to the chaos by asking what was wrong. Then, when everyone had dashed back to the cabin with Svara, she'd slowly started to make her way back to the cabin, only arriving just now. Normally she would have been a bit upset that Jac had left her behind, but she was so incredibly worried about Svara that the thought of being even the slightest bit irritated did not even cross her mind. The innocent-minded girl had no idea what could have provoked someone to attack Svara, and she had only caught bits and pieces of the exchange between Jac and Firefly about her former mate. What had her mate had to do with this? The delicate female had no idea.

As the slate and ivory optime finally reached the edge of the cabin's porch, she stopped upon hearing Jac and Firefly talking. She didn't want to interrupt anything. She heard voices from inside and heard Haven's voice saying something about Svara being awake. Well that was good...or at least it sounded that way. In truth she had no idea. In fact, this was one of the few moments that Ruri regretted being blind. It felt horrible to be so useless, especially when the rest of the group had been so helpful to her. So, quietly, the blind eyed dog stood by the porch, her arms folded in front of her as an unintended sign of her insecurity.

(ooc- I think everyone else is joining after the pack is formed, if I'm wrong anyone else can hop in this thread..)

Firefly had tried to ignore the words of Jacquez as he tried to coax her back into the house, she didn't want to go inside yet, she wanted them all here because they had no reason to be alone anymore, they belonged together and now was the only time they had. Her ears pressed back against her skull as she shook her head firmly, afraid that if she spoke that she would break again. What had provoked the attack she didn't know and now it seemed that she wouldn't for a long while. Svara didn't seem to know who any of them were and Firefly didn't know if she was hurt more by the fact that she didn't remember or that she couldn't.

She didn't have long to ignore Jacquez before the last of their stragglers appeared. Leroy came carrying a large doe and seemed to drop it before them with the notion that he'd prepare it if they were hungry. Firefly shook her head and smiled weakly at the male. It was obvious that she wasn't the only one who had been too upset to stay locked up in the cabin. "Thank you Leroy, but I think we've got other things more serious that we need to take care of.." She looked over to Jacquez as she said grimly. "It's time. They need a king." She paused as she realized that Ruri had finally made it back to the cabin. Firefly knew that they should have remembered their comrade and taken better care of her but everyone had been so upset, to apologize now would be just another point on showing her weakness.

Firefly moved closer to Jacquez as she turned her head slowly to gaze at Ruri. "Come inside.. I think we need to talk. " She moved to Jacquez's side as she passed through the doorway, the scent of blood still overwhelming mixed with the medical aspects that DaVinci had used as well. She moved past the others, not wanting to deal with anything now but what needed to be done. She opened the door to the room that Svara was in and motioned for the others to join her. "Svara.." she called to let the girl know they were coming in.

OoC:...

They all gathered quickly, none of them straying too far, all of them sobered from the chaotic afternoon. Jacquez's dark eyes lingered on Ruri, feeling a shade of guilt that she had been lost in the shuffle. She had familiarized herself with the beach, both by touch and by scent, but it was unkind to leave her behind both ways, coming and going. He let his gaze wander from her slight frame to each separate member of their ragged band. Firefly, putting on a brave face, but shaken by the notion of losing her friend. Leroy, busying himself to avoid the pain seeing of his memoryless mate. Haven, chilled by the firsthand experience of real violence. Svara, teetering on her weak legs, clinging to the deer pelt as they all filed into her chamber. It was not the bold and glorious beginning he had planned, but Lady Luck had always been a fickle mistress. He had known that long before his handsome ship had been dashed on the rocks, his crewmates scattered and lost. He had known from the beginning that he had no natural forces on his side - why else would he have an arm taken from him, before he could even remember how it happened? One could not dwell on petty things such as luck. One simply had to survive.

"Mes amis," he began, rich voice filling the room. "What happened today should be seen as a wakeup call. As lone wolves, as strays, we are the dregs of society. Those in packs will look down upon us, attack us, even kill us for trespassing. But we will not stand for it any longer." The collie-hybrid paced slowly in the small room, one arm tucked behind his back, the words to his impromptu speech arranging themselves in his mind moments before he spoke. "We spoke of building our own pack, a place for those unwanted and malcontent to gather safely, to lick their wounds and draw solace in the fact that they are not alone any longer. And you, my faithful five, have pledged your allegiances to me, your trust that I will always keep your best interests in mind." He paused for effect, whirling on his heel to face them. His proud plumed tail waved slowly behind him, matching the tempo of the patriotic music he could hear playing in his mind. If only they had a flag, to hoist behind him...

"It is no longer in your best interests to remain loners! We must form our pack now, tonight! Svara Thames nearly died today because she was alone. It was nothing short of a miracle that she survived the wounds as well as she did. We are all miracles, surviving the great losses that life has taken from us. Some are physical -" He waved his claws as a gesture towards his empty shoulder socket, toward Ruri's clouded eyes, toward Svara's mangled tail, -"And some are emotional." He nodded towards Haven, and then Leroy, and then Firefly. "But we all survived. And we will continue to survive! No matter who wants to hurt us, to cut our hearts open, to wish we were dead! Because we, the first and founding members of the Cour des Miracles, the Street of Miracles, do not submit so easily to the demands of others. We are a den of solitude, where we can scoff at the rules that others play by, and act on our impulses without repercussion. We are all of the same race - the race that looks for one another, where loyalty is our greatest asset. As long as we have each other, we will never fall!"

Jacquez planted his feet apart, hand firmly on his hip - the pose of a conqueror, the same he had adapted when he first alighted on their shore. He knew they would all look after one another; already they had bonded, they trusted each other, they trusted him. He was their king. And his first act as king would be to establish their nobility; they were more than mere lackeys. They were of his royal court. They deserved titles. He would give them what they deserved.

is in his halfing form

Leroy stood still as his stay swayed behind him as a vent of his upset, listening he left the deer on the porch where it is well within reach. Leroy has stayed in his halfing form for more then a couple hours, he wasn't sure why he didn't feel right or more or less comfortable with two legs. Either way his red eyes looked up at Firefly's words and her small smile, the husky could only smile weakly back for a small second before letting it fade away. Ears twisted as the others started to gather in the small home, but when the young boy spoke of Svara his ears leaned forward. Oddly Leroy was the last person to follow, not entirely entering the room but shifted into his full werewolf form as he leaned against the door frame. The patterned male was not ignoring the group but listening very intently, he just didn't feel like entering the small room yet; leaning with his back on the frame his arms folded tightly across his chest as his necklace hung neatly on his coat, ears were slightly back but his red eyes watched their leader as well each other face.

Jac held his attention the whole time, his words went deeper then the strange man might know or then again might know exactly. Once Jacquez's voice quieted was when Leroy spoke up, with a nodded of his head to the man that held most of what he did not need to say. "Cour des Miracles..I'll fight for it.." He didn't care if his few, hurt, and strong words might sound silly to some but to others they were alot. Looking at Jac Leroy wanted him to understand that he trusted him, this is his home now.

OOC:this is a chance for him to explain what happened.

The scent of the deer pelt made her sigh, but the softness of the fur was even better. Lying down in it's softness she took in a ridged breath. Her wounds burned like lava. The pain leaking into her soul. Some of it was mental, she hadn't stopped pressuring her mind since the moment she had woken up. Who was she? Who were these people to her? What was her favorite food? She laied down on the floor with the deer skin wrapped around her body. What would this do to her life? Had she lost everything with her memories?

The sound of the boys voice drew her out of thinking, suddenly it made her remember how tired she really was. Looking at him she wondered what his name was, or if she had been close to him. Her yellow eyes watched him intensly. His words seemed to draw the others back inside, which made her body tense. The women called out a name, the name that the husky had said was hers. Svara. It was a start at figuring out who she was.

As they walked in she sat up pain laced through her body, but she ignored it. Most likely she was making the wounds bleed again. Why did she know that? A part of her had already guessed she had been a healer, who else would she know the smell of the herbs that she scented, or the treatments she could take to lessen her pain? Yet she couldn't tell these people that seemed to love her, who they were. The golden female made her heart throb, and the urge to go to her was almost unresistable, but her pain kept her from moving to much.

The male with one arm and a beautiful face walked in. His voice was strong and deep and it made her heart race. Who was he? He spoke like a king and she couldn't help but listen. His passionate words made a grin come to the red she wolfs face. She looked at him with her yellow eye, his words making her heart beat faster. A pack, so that was what these people were to her. This was her family. The golden female, the king, the husky, the body, and the blind girl. These were her pack, they had come and rescued her from death. A sigh of comfort passed through her lips. She no longer had fear of this blue eyed demon, she had a family that would protect her from him. Her eyes drooped as she began to feel more weary. Her gaze was locked on Jac and their was a strength in her yellow orbs.

"my king.........my family.........my pack" She laied down and let her eyes close exahstion consuming her. She might not know who she is, but she had something for the moment that was hers.

short, sorry Sad

Soon everyone started reentering the small cabin. Haven stepped aside to make room for everyone, but it seemed they would convene in the room that Svara was recuperating in. He stepped inside with everyone else, his eyes on Jacquez. Somehow he knew that this was the start of everything. They had almost lost Svara and everyone knew that they could not afford to stay as an unofficial group any longer. Then as if on cue, the king began to speak. The boy listened with rapt attention. Drinking in the words of his leader as if they were water on a parched day. They were breathing a new life into him. A life that had been lost for weeks.

His jade eyes glimmered as he watched his king and heard his words. While he had not seemed like a king the day he had first met him, he could not think of him as anything less now. Who else could speak so movingly? Who else could rally them all together and make them loyal other than a true king? Once the speech was completed Haven caught the dark eyes of his new sovereign. "I swear that I will do everything in my power to protect this pack and all who live in it." There was a strength and steel behind those words that had not been present in his voice in over a moon. He was beginning to feel like his old self again. Beginning to feel like he had a purpose again.

Still waters run deep

Ruri listened to Jacquez's speech with quiet admiration. He certainly knew how to say the right thing for the occasion...most of the time that is. The blind girl had followed everyone inside, thankful that she was back with the group once more. For almost her entire life, Jac had been the only real family she had, but now she had a pack to be a part of. This one would not throw her away simply because of her blindness. No, in fact they embraced her even with her disability. The delicate girl thought long and hard about the name that Jac had just bestowed upon their pack. Cour des Miracles...again the king had worked wonders with his words. She heard everyone else speak, even Svara, who seemed to sum up what Ruri was sure they were all feeling in just a few simple words. Still, the ivory and merle border collie thought she too should give her assent...if at least to simply restate her loyalty to their cause. "My family has grown recently, from just me and Jac...to all of you guys," she paused, her impaired eyes wandering arouna the room in the general direction of all the individuals she knew were in the room. She could hear them, so she knew sort of where they were, "I'll do what I can to help Cour des Miracles succeed." She smiled, in timid sincerity. She didn't know what she'd be able to do...except help keep their king in line like she'd always done, but that wouldn't stop her from trying.

Being in a pack meant that she now had a responsibility to everyone in her little family. Perhaps that responsibility was to simply be a supportive member of the pack, which would not be a difficult task for the sensitive female. For now she did not know. One thing was certain, though, and that was that the pack would have to protect each other to keep evil creatures like the vile beast that attacked Svara away from each other. That was their duty to one another. So, with a resolute smile on her face, Ruri took her place, leaning against the wall of the small room, eagerly listening for what the others would have to say.

Firefly's eyes seemed to fill with a reckless amusement as Jacquez did what he did best as he captured the hearts and souls of their fellows. She smiled as she listened to the words of their leader as the rapture seemed to spread from one to the next of their friends. She nodded to herself as she turned her gaze to Svara, thinking of just what had happened to the poor girl as she leaned close to Jacquez and murmured. "My king, I think they've found faith in you.." a soft chuckle followed as she felt that perhaps now things would begin to look up for them all.

When Ruri spoke of having a larger family Firefly glanced around at the pack of misfits as she admitted. "I can almost guarantee you.. this is only the beginning." Now there were just going to have to lay claim to their world and settle in right where they belonged. She turned towards Jacquez as she asked. "Are we going to settle here.." She'd believed all along they would, the house was already here, but it was up to Jacquez now.

OoC: Everybody gets to choose a co-rank if they want to start out with one. ^_^ If you don't want your character to say the name of it aloud, then just add an OOC note, and it'll be taken care of. Sorry for the bit of powerplay here; just keeping things moving!

As each of them around the room voiced their acceptance, their loyalties, Jacquez's smile grew from ear to ear.

"Marquis Leroy," he said smoothly, nodding to the husky's determined rose-tinted gaze. They were the tallest in the room, the strongest with tooth and nail. If Leroy trusted him enough to fight for his cause, then they would have no problems in the future. "Your loyalty means everything; your skills as a hunter and a fighter will be put to good use. Thank you." He flashed his fangs in a quick grin, pleased that he had been the first canine to accept the name of their kingdom.

"Our Majordomo," he announced, his tone taking a more lofty edge as he met the youth's brilliant jade eyes, seeing the newfound resolve and purpose behind them. Now, now he was ready. Smiling, he voiced a simple, booming command: "Kneel." The sinuous Optime paced across the small room, drawing himself to his full height before the burnt-orange hybrid. "You have sworn to defend to your uttermost the weak, the orphan, the widow and the oppressed; you will be courteous, and women should receive your speciale care... By the divine rights vested in me as your King, I hereby dub thee Sir Haven Aatte, Knight of our Royal Court. Rise, Sir Haven!" He tapped Haven's shoulder with the flat of his hand, completing the rite of passage. It had taken him some time to find the words he wanted to say - his first official knighting, how exhilarating! - but now it was real for Haven, his childhood dream reaching fruition. How the Knight would use his rank was up to him, but if the title would help him rise above the stigma of his father, then all had gone perfectly.

"Duchess Aceline... My Ruri... You have deserved royalty for the longest time, for your brave spirit and boundless kindness. All of us, your newest family, can use your uplifting presence in these dark ages. Please remain with us, so that we may continue to smile..." Jac grasped her hand within his, squeezing it reassuringly. She was adapting to this new life much faster than he had anticipated, and he was proud of his little sidekick. It was normally hard for the delicate girl to trust strangers, since she could not see them and had to grow accustomed to their scents, their voices, their idiosyncrasies. It was probably a bigger step for her than for most of them, although they all had their highly valid reasons. He could be proud of all of them.

"Sweet Firefly, you are correct," he admitted easily, happiness sparkling in his dark fathomless eyes. "I must thank all of you for your trust. It cannot be easy to pledge your lives to another, one whom most of you barely know or remember. To try and make you all more comfortable, I have decided to take a vice-captain of sorts - a second leader, to keep our kingdom running smoothly. She is one of us familiar with the lands and the ways of wolves, and being granted the title of 'Constable' will guarantee her continued safety from instigators in other packs. She is our own Svara..." The lean collie stepped to her bed, pale fingers brushing beneath her chin, tilting her weary face to meet his gaze. She needed rest, as exhaustion was claiming her wounded body. But the idea had come to him that day, as they all scurried about like panicked ants in the sand. No matter how abrasive her real personality could be, no foreign wolf would knowingly attack a pack leader. "Your mind will return to us, o yellow-eyed healer. We'll all need your medical expertise. And you have many years ahead of you, to get used to bossing others around." He winked, letting her sink back into her bed. Being in charge might be the stimulus she needed for her true persona to resurface. Only if time passed and she did not show signs of returning, if this was a permanent trauma, only then would he consider revoking the power. He needed the firebrand, not the ashes left behind.

"We are the royal court of the Cour des Miracles! We have respect for each other, and none other. All of you are equal in my eyes, and shall treat each other thusly! Use your titles if you like - you have deserved them. We will settle here, on this very coast - this cabin belongs to Seneschal Firefly, and those she chooses to accommodate. We will build more homes, and lay claim to caves and the dens that the wild has left us! We can fill our bellies with fish, and gulls, and whatever we lay our claws on. This is our land now, and trespassers be dealt with however you see fit..." He grinned a wicked grin, dark eyes atwinkle with mischief. He couldn't wait to see how quickly the news would spread, how the natives would react, how many curious rubberneckers would try to sneak in and see if there really was a royal court nestled away by the rolling sea. And most of all, he wondered how quickly the loners would file in, seeking sanctuary. How many curious wolves, tied to their wearisome duties, would abandon their pack to join his. He wanted to make a stir. He wanted all the trouble he could handle, and then some.

He is a blacksmith! that is what builds stuff right? Though he will still hunt, cause he is always hungry :3

Leroy stood still where he was, like a statue built for that spot alone. Jac's words brought the smallest of smiles from his maw at the leader's grin, fading back away he was happy for their future. Though somethings will be hard. Red eyes watched everyone as the spoke, landing on Svara he captured more then a second watching her face. Ear twitch the slightest of movements when she spoke, his mate was still healing but she sounds relieved in his eyes and ears. Though the young male always seems to amuse Leroy, not in a bad way, merely he remembers being his age along with the courage to protect. Leroy thought if the boy had ever fought before, ever rip and break another on the field. Letting the though pass Leroy looked at Firefly with a smirk, remaining silent he observed. Watching Jac was always strange, well most of the time because he was a strange man. Knighting the young boy made Leroy hold back a smile, the kid would no doubt love the title, Leroy accepted his rank with opposition as he watched Jac knight the Haven. Though his brow raised when he announced Svara as the sub leader, but the husky's ear twitched when he touched her chin. He trusts him so the annoyed thought disappeared, sniffing his stomach grumbled loudly. Louder then he would have wanted as he calmly looked about the room before speaking, "well, since it's s official are we ready to eat?".

OOC: bloopbloop goes the fishie

She listened to the king her eyes closed and her breathing coming in and out. His words flowed through the room like a song, captivating everyone that stood there. He knighted and dubbed and then he came to her side and touched her chin. Her yellow eyes opened, one good eye veiwing the male with complete clarity. She felt safe around these wolves and with that hand on her chin. Her fear for the blue eyed demon was changing into anger and a visious need to rip and tear those blue eyes apart. He wasn't a demon, the blue eyed wolf was a monster, and Svara wasn't afraid of monsters.

She grinned and nodded as best she could before he let her head go back down. Willingly she rested her body. She knew she wasn't weak, and that she would fight anyone who challenged her. She knew who she was, only the people around her evaded her memory. That didn't matter anymore. From here on out she would make new memories and learn the old ones from her loved ones. This was just a speed bump that she was sure would pass.

One by one the rest of their band assented to their forming of the pack. He may not have been as outcast as some of them, but he did not look down upon any of them. They were his new home and his new family and he had sworn to protect them and he would die before breaking his word. He glanced over at Ruri and smiled. He knew she couldn't see it, but maybe she could feel it. Then their king spoke up again and began to hand out their titles. Haven met Jac's strong gaze and when his liege commanded him to kneel his heart skipped a beat. It was actually going to happen? Emotion flooded his system, but he hid it well as he went to one knee before his king, bowing his head. His heart swelled as Jacquez spoke and he took the words to heart. When his shoulder was tapped he rose, smiling at his lord. "I will not disappoint you. Any of you," he said, looking around to the rest of his pack.

The new knight watched as the rest of the titles were handed out. Jac spoke of their equality in his eyes and how he would not betray the trust they had all placed in him. He was glad to hear that they would settle here. He had promised his mother that he would not go too far from Crimson Dreams and he knew now that that promise would be kept. He knew that while they may face troubles from other packs, that his birth pack would not be their enemy. His mothers would support him and his new home, he knew. Leroy mentioned something of food, but he looked back to his king. There was still things that needed to be done. Marking their borders and other such things. But if the king said they could eat then Haven would not complain.

Still waters run deep

When Jac began handing out their new titles, Ruri listened eagerly. She had no idea what to expect from her king, but when he directed his words to her, the blind girl couldn't help but blush shyly, the ivory fur on her muzzle not doing much to hide the pink hue of her skin. She was a duchess, Jac had said so. The sensitive girl didn't know what to think. She knew certainly that she was happy about being given such a title, but other than that she didn't know what to think. It was all a lot to take in. Her lips curled in a smile as she twirled her long hair around her finger timidly. Jacquez always knew just what to say to make her blush.

The slender optime listened quietly as their king spoke of the equality they would all share in his eyes. He was going to bring this pack into greatness and they would help him. Ruri felt inspired by her friends words and she nodded in ascent to each and every statement he made. When Leroy asked Jac if they could eat, her half-folded ears perked expectantly. Would the king consent? She had a feeling he would, even though she also had a feeling Jac wasn't done with his kingly duties just yet. Food was something she was sure they were all looking forward to. The fragile girl knew that she was definitely hungry. Even now she could feel a gnawing hunger in her stomach, begging her for sustenance. So, with an eager wag of her feathery furred tail, the delicate female waited to hear what would happen next.

-ooc- Firefly is to be the Marquist I do believe, she's suppose to tattoo Haven anyways. :p -

Firefly smiled as Jacquez seemed to lift each and everyone of their spirits as he graced them with courtly names and graces. She chuckled as she watched the reactions of the others as they tried to wrap their sense around the new rank and the feel of their pack. Her eyes glanced over to Svara as Jacquez decided to appoint her as one of their leaders. She knew that the old girl would have been able to hold her own and she only hoped that in time she would recover and become what she once was. Her eyes danced with mischief as Jacquez knighted young Haven and it seemed to make his whole world blossom. The smile played across her lips as she laughed softly, knowing that anyone else would probably see the sight of them as a huge joke but together they would become a force to be reckoned with. It would only take time.. and they had enough of that.

When Leroy spoke of food Firefly smiled and flicked her eyes to Jacquez as she announced. "I'll mark out our territory if you'd like.." She had no problem with missing dinner, but she figured that she could grab something on the way out if needed. A toothy grin flashed across her face as she laughed. "Cour des Miricles.. it's more fitting than you'd think.." She glanced back to their family who now would be known as a pack as her tail danced back and forth excitedly, knowing that now their world had just begun.

OoC: Okay, my last post. :3 Finishing up!

Now he had them all the way he wanted them. They were nobles and comrades, with every reason to defend their kingdom and bring in more recruits. This place was the only place they could find true freedom - not in the rigid structures of wolf packs, and not struggling to survive on one's own. Here they could be lazy and get fat on the riches of the land, they could fight out their disputes instead of relying on corrupt laws, and they could enjoy every vice that do-gooders frowned upon. Sure, they might need some guidelines; they were not criminals, but there was nothing wrong with a little gambling, a lot of drinking, and the occasional bed-warmer, was there?

"We will feast! Leroy has brought us a deer; we can build a bonfire on the sands, eat, drink, and be merry! Ruri, sing us a song? Firefly, stay a little while - you'll need some drink in your belly before you can mark the borders." His fangs flashed in an excited laugh, as he ducked through the doorway to the main room, leaning down to scoop up a stash of bottles he had moved there earlier. It was thanks to Haven that he had found the dive bar in Halifax, but he had returned there several times since then, both to indulge his whims and to carry off some of the drinks for this very occasion. With such a heavy drinker around, the resources left behind by the humans would dwindle quickly. At least he was charismatic; in the length of several minutes, he had brightened everyone's spirits enough to celebrate, rather than sit about in the gloom of twilight and think morbid thoughts.

Svara needed to rest; she could stay indoors, and no doubt her mate would bring her some food when she was feeling up to it. Ruri was not allowed to drink - king's orders, it wasn't safe when she couldn't see where she was going - but she was welcome to sing by the fire and feel accepted. Haven could visit his family tomorrow if he wanted to, to show them how he had turned his life around. Firefly could accept this as her new family, a good pack to replace the bad one she left. The future was titillating. Jacquez could not wait to wake up the next morning with a hangover, knowing that the land he slept upon was his own, that he had done what he came here to do. His own Cour des Miracles, open to all comers.
