For Amata, Cambria & Gotham (though not in that order xD)

When she woke, it was not in a fit rise. It was the sun. The long windows of the sunroom let the sun leech through the thin clouds and pass into the grass room. It was easy to rise, violet eyes blinking against the glow and smiling at the sun that had been long lost. Raindrops dotted the window, but none were falling from the clouds. She moved quickly, jumping from the bed and kissing the sleepy Ambrose on the nose. She would leave him behind, though the hedgehog didn’t seem to mind much.

Four paws tapped over the wooden floors, listening to the empty and sleepy mansion. Purple eyes wandered, and she knew who she sought. Their scents were not in the manor, even as she crept past their room she only found remnants of their scent. She pushed the door open, standing on the porch, head held high and enjoying the warmth of a true summer air on her face.

Voices came to her ears, small high voices. Smiling, the young woman trotted down the stairs and moving towards where they must be playing. Past the fence, through the garden and into the forest that surrounded Haven Manor. Creeping through the underbrush, she followed the sounds and scents on her quarry. A smiled on her maw the brown fey looked on as the three sibling played.

“Who wants to go to the beach?” She asked, knowing that though there were still clouds in the sky it was beach kind of day.

So, like, did you ever read the Redwall series? Because Ambrose+hedgehog+cute reminds me of those books *was a fan and had read them all up to Triss >__>*

The forest always seemed to be magical in the morning—the bugs seemed to think so too, because they always came out to play and dance in the rays of light. So Amata had gone with her siblings to play in the magical forest where the bugs played too. And the cream-hued pup was suddenly plunged into that world of imagination where anything could happen. Knowing that she could not catch the bugs without causing them to sleep forever, the young girl took to dancing—or prancing—about from sun spot to sun spot, allowing her bright coat to sparkle in the sun as if she were part of the light too. And the bugs seemed to dance with her, encouraged by the brightness of her coat. Smiling brightly, the blue and green eyes watched her brother and sister, and she came to tap them lightly on the shoulder with her muzzle as if to grant them some wish. But then, suddenly, the peacefulness was shattered by an equally delighting event.

"Mat-tea!" Amata’s exclamation occurred simultaneously with her body’s sudden twist as she sought to find the older girl that had suddenly appeared. "The beach?!" came the exuberant response that was followed by several equally excited yips and jumps that gradually brought the young girl over. "Less go to the beach! Less go to the beach!" she chanted loudly, her tail wagging so happily that her entire body seemed to shake with each movement. The white pup had actually never been to the beach, and she did not know what to expect from such a place. But all the stories said that there were treasures that were in the water and on the sand too, and that excited Amata the most. Briefly, she thought of Jazz’s secret treasure, and of the jewels that sparkled. But she hadn’t told anyone about those sparkly things because it was a secret, and Amata would keep that secret just between Jazz and herself. But maybe, at the beach, she could find her own treasures that she could share with everyone!

The forest was twittering with birds and bugs, and the light seemed to make the little world in the trees magical, but Gotham was feeling so tired. He hadn't been able to sleep the night before after having a dream about riding a giant dragonfly through a wilderness of giant flowers. It was far too exciting for him to be able to close his eyes again after waking up, the adrenaline pumping through his little veins making him feel quite awake indeed. Instead, he had thought about all the dragonflies that he had seen the other day, and of Mister Green, the little caterpillar that would (maybe) be a butterfly some day.

Now, those wondrous ideas had gone from his head and all he could think about was finding a warm spot and having a nap. He curled up in a ring of light as Amata leapt around, his blue eyes settling on the forest floor as his eyelids fell and lifted slowly. There was too much going on around him to really fall asleep, though, and he listened to his sister's footfalls. He lifted his head slightly off the ground as she tapped him on the shoulder, and threw her a wide grin. The fun she was having was making him want to get up and join her, and now he was convinced that he should. Gotham got up on his big paws just as Mati appeared, and his tail started to wave back and forth wildly.

He continued to wiggle as the female suggested they go on an adventure, and though he let his sister do the talking for a moment he did let out a couple of thrilled squeals. When there was a gap in Amata's chanting, he cried out, "I dooooo!" A wide smile was on his face, and the force with which he wagged his tail shook his entire body.

Big Grin 300+

The three Sadira-Marino children had woken quite early today. Of course Cambria had needed to check on Leafy before they went outside, but the cat-pill still had plenty of yummy leaves to eat so he would be fine. Though she did make a note to herself if her head that she should get him more leaves to eat before going back inside. It seemed almost all of the energy that had been sapped from her after her accident had returned and she bounced around the morning forest with her sister. It was so good to see the sun shine after all the rain and elated giggles came from her chest. Sea green eyes looked at her curled up brother and she bounded over to him, plopping down on top of him and licking his ear. "Wakes up Gothawms!" It was play time! Not sleepy time!

When a familiar voice cut through the air immediately her gaze went to Mati. Tail wagging excitably Cambria got off of her sibling and ran over towards the older wolf. "Hi Mati!!" It was so good to see her! The chocolate pup loved Mati like an older sister. She had looked after he so much when she had been sick. There was always a warm comfort that washed over her in the Church wolf's presence, similar to what she felt when around her momma and daddy. The girl's eyes grew wide and bright at the idea of going to the beach. "I wanna goes to da beach! I do! I dooo!" she said, her body wiggling. Daddy tooks me to da beach onces! Is soooo preddies!" Though that beach had not been here, it had been a ways away. What beach was Mati going to take them to? It must be closer. Would it be even prettier than the one she had seen? Cambi couldn't wait to find out!

req, yup it is, i'm a big fan of the books! i figured the pups 'discovering' the beach would be fun xD

Violet eyes, smiling with the sight of the pups at play moved from the scene to the sky. She checked once more. The sky held a cover of clouds, but there was no rain in the air. If a storm approached it was long off, and they had hours and hours of nothing more then a hazy day of clouds. They spouted words, calling to each other in jest. They reminded her of days when she had played with her siblings. Those moments seemed more like another life time then just a year ago. They had lived in a different pack then as well, where harmony rained supreme.

Now she lived with another peace, and played with different brothers and sisters. They called to her, agreeing and eager to take up her suggestion. She had faith that the outing would be a worthwhile one, and their enthusiasm told her that they had been stuck in and around the manor for far too long. Mati could sympathize with the trio, the mansion had become a prison with torrential rain as the bars on their windows. It was time to venture to a place that had all but been forgotten.

“Alright, alright.” She said as if it had been their idea and not her own. A smile remained, and her four paws trotted around the wiggling and wagging tails with a black nose in the direction of the shore. “Can you play follow the leader?” they were big enough now to make the journey. Their legs no longer just stumps on rolly-polly bodies, but limbs that might just let them run. She turned quickly to see that they were following, and before she could hear an answer she led the small platoon into the forest.

The sun was seated higher on it’s gray throne by the time she could smell the salt in the air. It was heavy and thick and Mati could almost taste it on her tongue. They had played the game well, and she hoped that they weren’t completely out of energy before they hit the sands, though the Captain was sure she might have a pup or two in hand on the journey back.

Amata was glad that her siblings wanted to go to the beach too! And the creamy girl was very excited because she had never gone before. But Cambi said that she had, and that Dadda had taken her. "Reallys?! Dadda tooked you?" The creamy tail wagged happily as the blue and green eyes turned to Got’am in surprise. It seemed that Cambi was the only one that had been to the beach, because Got’am didn’t show any sign of having ever gone. The creamy girl watched both her brother and Mat-tea. "Cambi iss a beach-experts nows!" Even though the pups had Mat-tea to guide the way, they also had Cambi too. And Cambi had been there before! The chocolate pup said that it was pretty, and Amata wanted to see the pretty beach too. "I’s wants to go, Mat-tea! Please takes us!" The Sadira pup begged loudly, a high-pitched whine squeaking from her throat. "I’s never gone to the beaches!"

"I’s cans!" Amata exclaimed, jumping up in case Mat-tea couldn’t see her. "I’s cans plays! I will plays folloe-da-leader with yous!" And then she jumped onto the bandwagon of folloe-da-leader, walking just as Mat-tea walked. Her head swayed from side to side as she made her way through the forest, singing once more the random tunes that spilled from her little muzzle. Traveling in such a fun way made the time pass very quickly, and, before she knew it, Amata was standing on the soft sands.

"Wows," she said, pausing and unable to walk any farther The creamy pup didn’t know what to do now that she was at the beach, and so she simply stood there. It was much bigger than the beach of the lake, and the sand was much softer. The blue and green eyes looked down at her feet, at her toes that were partially sunken into the sands, and a soft giggle came from her as she wiggled her toes. Slowly, as her ears pricked forward at the unmistakable sound of the crashing waves, the bi-coloured eyes lifted. Everything about this place reminded her of her Mamma and of the pretty pink shell that she sometimes touched with her little paw. "It iss pretties, Cambi!" She turned to look at her sister, but still she hesitated there. It was as if she wasn’t sure what to do now that she was at the beach. The awe of this strange, new place held her there.

Cambria had been to the beach before? With papa? Gotham felt just a little twinge of jealousy; his sisters had gone on adventures without him! That was okay, though, because now they were going to the beach and an adventure now was more important than one taken a while ago. The boy would be all caught up, and each one of the pups would know what the beach was like. Amata turned to him and exclaimed that their chocolate colored sister was a beach expert, and Gotham smiled at the obvious thrill that flickered in her eyes even though he was, once more, a little jealous! By the end of the day he would make himself a beach expert, too.

The tidbits of envy he was feeling dissolved when Mati suggested a game. With a grin and a bounce, he followed after his sisters, and as Amata sang a little tune Gotham joined in. He howled along with her, trying to make his voice go along with hers as best he could. After meeting Jazper just a few days ago, the little raven boy had found that he enjoyed singing very much indeed! He hadn't exactly gotten the hang of the whole song writing thing yet, though, so it was just random words that escaped his little muzzle as he trotted through the forest. Just as he sang clumsily, he clumsily mimicked the way Mati walked.

By the time they reached the beach, Gotham's pink tongue was hanging out of his open mouth. It was hot, and the salty air stuck to his pelt. While Amata simply stopped to take in the beauty, the boy had his eyes on the cool water in the distance, and he bounded across the sand toward the sea. His mouth was open and he gave a little roar as he ran, as if he was running to attack the water. The motive behind this action was lost even on him, but it seemed to be in his nature (and probably that of every boy) to antagonize most things in one way or another.

The sand was such a strange thing to run through! It gave way behind his giant paws and made it seem like he was doing more work than he should be doing. By the time he got to the water, he was even more worn out and even more overheated. As soon as his paws were submerged, he plopped down into the shallow water. His tongue dropped down to take a little drink, and as soon as the salt water touched it he let out a loud, "Blehhh!" This water was disgusting! He tried to get the taste off his tongue, rubbing it against his top teeth as if to scrape the salt off, but it didn't seem to work. Giving up, he let it hang out of his mouth as if that would somehow stop him from being able to taste the salt, and merely stared at Mati and his sisters with a rather sour look upon his face.

Cambria herself was a little surprised that she was the only one that had seen a beach before. She hoped her siblings weren't jealous because of it. Dadda had just taken her once really early in the morning and they had gone to the beach and met Mr. Jefferson. Though she had to admit, it did make her feel special that she was the only one their father had taken on such a little trip. She would never say so out-loud however. The girl felt her cheeks grow warm under her chocolate fur as Amata said she was a beach expert. "I's not...I jus seen one da one times..." She wasn't an expert on anything, especially not beaches! If anyone was that it would be momma or uncle Ehno.

Though she was soon distracted from her little embarrassment as Mati started a fun new game. Amata and Gotham followed the larger brown wolf and Cambi quickly followed suit. This was a game she knew she would be good at! She was very good at doing what the adults told her to do because she wanted to be a good girl and make everyone like her. Nobody liked mean, naughty puppies so she would be a good, nice puppy. The singing of her brother and sister tickled her cream-tipped ears and she began to hum along with their tune. The pup didn't think she could sing really, or at the very least wasn't confident enough to try, but she could hum! Humming was easy and not so distracting while trying to stay perfectly in line.

It really hadn't been that long of a walk for them to reach the beach, not like the time daddy had taken her. This beach was different and it was inside of Crimson Dreams. She had had no idea that this was even here! It was so exciting to know that her pack had its very own beach! Happily Cambria bounded into the sand, loving the funny feel of it beneath her feet and between her toes. Gotham raced past her, heading for the water and she looked at him curiously. He got to the water and laid down and then tried to drink it, but then he made a funny face and looked back at them. "Wha issit Gothawm?" The thought that ocean water would be any different than regular water had never occurred to her. Little legs began to awkwardly carry her towards her brother through the sand. She wanted to feel the water too!

They had arrived. The young wolfess looked behind her to find that all three pups had followed her in thier little game. They had sang and trotted along like a merry little bunch that made Mati smile. She could hear each of their voices, first Amata, then Gotham and Cambria humming softly to herself. Mati remained silent, not knowing the words to the cream hued pup’s song, and knowing that her voice need not ruin the melody the trio created. Enjoying the conversation that flowed between the three she only lead, giving little input. A grin came to her face as she listened, how Amata spoke the most, and Cambria’s shy words. Their differences were great, and yet when all together they moved and spoke with the same fluidity that she held with Haven. She hoped the siblings would stay as close.

Amata was the first to reach it, and Mati hung back to take in their reactions. The small form of Gotham plowing past the ladies and headed strait for the water. In he went, fighting the low rolling tide and unknowingly drinking from the ocean. The Church girl walking slowly after Amata and Cambria. The sand felt nice beneath her paws, she had not seen this stretch of beach before and took a moment to take it in. The sky seemed lighter here, holding a weightless blue that spoke of sunshine. The breeze swept over the sea, teasing her heavy coat. The walked had tired her as well, but the new breeze, the sight of the ocean and the pups gave her energy.

Trailing his sisters the wolf looked to Gotham. “You can’t drink this water, its salt water.” It would only make him sick and more dehydrated. Perhaps she could find a stream on the way back, she hoped that she hadn’t taken them too far. Savina would have her head if she returned with dehydrated puppies. She stepped into the ocean beside the little male and felt the chill. She splashed him, dipped her maw into the tide to cool her face and then looked at the girls. It was safe.

Poor Amata drifting away, hahah

As her siblings slowly moved by, the creamy pup watched, feeling a little uncertain about this new place. But it was made Amata more uneasy to be left behind and standing alone and so, grudgingly, she made her way across the warm sands of the beach. The strange sound of the ocean was like the sound that the lake made, but it was bigger and better, she decided. The small smile that had been upon her little muzzle grew wider as she watched the big, crashing waves. Looking down, she could see the water pulling the sand and putting it back, and she was glad that the ocean had played with the beach. It was nice that these things were being friendly and not scary and mean like the yelling clouds in the sky. They’s nice, she decided with a nod. And their prettiness reminded her of her Mamma, who was very pretty and had a pretty pink shell that was from the ocean too. Sometimes she liked to touch it gently with her paw—

Her head turned suddenly as a disgusted cry interrupted the pretty beach sound. The blue and green eyes watched her brother curiously, her head tilting. She couldn’t figure out why he was upset at first because she didn’t notice anything out of place—he had only moments before been playing in the water, and Amata had just been about to join him. She was about to ask what it was when Cambi beat her too it. Instead, Amata laughed and said, "Wass wrongs, Got’am?" She giggled, and, wanting to know what was wrong, she stepped into the water. "Oh!" It was nice and cool. Immediately her uncertainty about this big and new place was gone, and she relaxed, her tail wagging easily behind her. Mat-tea said that the water was salty, and Amata was amazed. "Salty?" she asked with disbelief. "What doess salty waters tasteds likes?" And then, impulsively, she lowered her little maw to the water and took a great big lap that was immediately followed by a sound of disgust not unlike the one that Got’am had just made. "It iss gross!" She tried to lick her fur to get the taste from her mouth, but the sea spray had beaten her to it. Scrunching up her face, she said, "Yucky!" and turned to look up at Mat-tea. "Nows I’s knows whys wes can’ts drinks the ocean water!"

As if forgetting about the horrible tasted, Amata began to bound along the shoreline. "Come ons, guys! Less play in the waters!" Eventually Amata had walked in a big circle—it was just what she had done when she had learned to swim. While reluctant to drink it, the girl decided that it was better to play. The horrible salty taste that was forced into her mouth every now and then could be ignored—the fun she was having was much better anyway. A bigger wave came and pushed her over playfully, and the girl laughed, spitting out the water. Shaking her fur and spraying the salty ocean water everywhere, Amata leapt into the deeper part of the water, oblivious to the dangers of the deep and vast and powerful ocean. "I’s swimming!" Good things Aun taughted my how to swims! What she didn’t know was that she was slowly drifting away from the shore. But she was having too much fun and only smiled in blissful ignorance.

Gotham figured that the expression on his face would speak for itself, so when his cinnamon sister asked what was wrong he merely turned to his face towards her. His tongue was still hanging out, and his brows were furrowed. Amata asked, as well, and he faced her in turn. When Mati responded to his disgruntled groan, he scrunched up his face a little more. If only she had told him earlier! Anyway, it was very difficult to be unhappy when his pretty sister was giggling so. The light colored girl always seemed to be a beacon of happiness (when she wasn't scared of the monsters, of course) and the little noises that escaped her were contagious. Pulling his tongue back in, pleasantly surprised that it didn't taste so gross anymore, he stood up and looked out across the ocean. It went for so far! The boy couldn't even see the end of it, and the line that separated the sky from the sea was hazy and almost hard to discern.

He peered for a few seconds before Amata questioned what exactly it tasted like. The boy's blue eyes became extraordinarily wide and his head snapped toward the girl. "Nooo, Mata!" he cried, but it was too late. A disgusted cry escaped her mouth, as well, and Gotham furrowed his brow in sympathy. Silly girl, hadn't she learned from his mistake? Oh well, now she knew for herself what the water tasted like. Maybe it would have even been nice for her, who knew! Girls were funny things, and the poor black pup was surrounded by them.

Playing! Now that was something that Gotham could believe in. With a wide grin, he bounded after his sister, moving a little further into the ocean. Out here, where the water was almost up to his stomach, the waves were much more powerful! The wave that knocked the girl over made Gotham stumble a little, and he giggled at its strange push. Why did the water raise up like this and play with the puppies? It must have known that it was play time! Gotham scrunched up a little and let out an excited cry when Amata shook, and followed her into the deeper water.

Unlike the alabaster girl, Gotham had not had any swimming lessons. He tried to mimic the way that his sister was paddling. He managed to stay afloat, while making a fair amount of water airborne, and giggled as he followed his sister deeper and deeper.

Oh noes! 300+

Cambria followed the little procession to the waves and where Gotham was laying. While she had been to a beach before, she had never played in the water. Dada had only taken her there and they had stood in the sand and talked with Mr. Jefferson. Now, though, the water seemed very enticing and the fact that everyone else was in it assured the girl that it was safe. Smiling she stepped close and a wave sent water running over her over-large paws. This funny sensation made her giggle. It felt good! She leaned her head down to sniff the water and she could definitely smell the salt that Mati had told them was in there. How strange. "Who puts da salt in da waters?" It seemed to her that someone would do it. Maybe there was even a story behind it!

It appeared Amata hadn't learned her lesson from Gotham's experience and what Mati had told them so she drank the water too, with the same result as their brother had shown. Cambria shook her head. "Silly 'Mata! You tink Gothawms was pretendin'?" A small laugh accepted her words. Her sister could be oh so silly at times, but that was one of the many reasons that she loved her. But then it was time to play and with a yip she followed her brother and sister into the surf. Though she did not go quite as deep as they did, staying closer to the shore. The wave that knocked her sibling over only lapped against her chest. That was strange! The lake water never did that either! This salt water stuff was like a whole different animal! She closed her eyes and giggled as Amata sprayed her with her shaking, but as she and Gotham moved even deeper in the water Cambria stopped.

Her eyes watched her siblings carefully and noticed the slight way they were moving further and further out. Instinct kicked in and she knew that this was not a good thing, because Amata and Gotham were not noticing it. Fear struck the girl and she whined loudly, looking to Mati. She did not know how to swim and she did not know how to make this situation better.

The beach was long, and the soft sands seemed endless on either side of her. Mati knew better to believe the illusion. They would end, and become the rocky shore of the Shattered Coast. But here, it was peaceful above and below. The sky held a blue she had not seem in some time, and if she let them her thought drifted to the romanticism that this place induced in her. Of course, as water splashed in her face Mati was awoken to reality.

The trio was now yelling, little voices trying to call over the constant crash of the low tide. Amata was now drinking from the salt laden waters, and Mati shook her at the pup with a stern look. They would all be sick if they drank the stuff. Purple eyes looked at the small brown pup, waiting for her to join in the sea water tasting herself. Being conscientious as she was, Cambria did not test it out, thankfully. The older wolf hung back, just enjoying the water that lapped at her legs. Her eyes drifted to the liquid horizon, but she did not let her mind take her from the present.

Her large body moved deeper in the water passed the two swimmers, shepherding the young pups back to the shore. A smile graced her face, and she moved to where the water reached her belly. Her eyes staying on Gotham for a few brief moments, hoping that he would get the hang of it. “Not too deep you two.” She paused and watched the cream hued pup, “Amata your good at swimming.” Mati spoke the thought aloud as she watched her drift with the current. Quickly she used her body to keep her from going too deep. Fear gripped her, her beat sinking at the thought of loosing the little pup, but her face remained calm and well as her voice. “Cambria its okay” Coxing the most timid of the three further into the water. As long as she didn’t go too far…

Amata paddled happily in her little circles, delighted that she could still remember how to swim. Because of her loud panting and the loud ocean that as noisy in her ears, she could not hear her sister’s whine, she continued to remain oblivious of her drifting. Amata knew only that she was swimming and that it was fun. "I’s a fish princess," she breathed to herself when she could, remembering when she had been a fish princess and Anu had taken her stick. "I’s a fish princess. I’s a fish princess." It became a chant now, a quiet one that only she could hear. Briefly, as he blue and green eyes looked up, she saw that Got’am was playing in the water too. He wasn’t as far out as she was, but that was okay—wait. Why’s I’s so far away? It as then that she suddenly realized her plight, and she began to struggle, paddling as fast as she could towards the shore. But the water wouldn’t let her and continued to force her into circles. Luckily for the pup, Mat-tea came to her rescue.

Amata smiled as she bumped into the older girl, a look of relief crossing her face. "Okays, Mat-tea," she panted, her tongue lolling out and inadvertently obtaining the salty water. At the compliment, Amata giggled with delight, although, because she was tired, her giggling sounded more like wheezes. "Thanks yous, Mat-tea! I’s learned from Anu!" Anu had taught Amata and now she remembered how to swim. That must mean that she was good at swimming. She was about to tell the violet-eyed girl about how she was the Princess Fish when Mat-tea called to Cambi that it was okay. The bi-coloured eyes turned to look at her sister (which took a great effort because her swimming skill was still new). Cambi was still on the shore! Amata thought that Cambi was sad because she was alone and no one was playing with her, so Amata called, "Iss okays, Cambi!" She called as loudly and as coherently as she could. Then, the creamy pup pushed off of the older girl that kept her from floating too far and paddled as fast as she could towards the shore. "I’s comin’!" Her efforts were more successful this time, and it wasn’t long before she was a her sister’s side.

Panting heavily, she smiled at Cambi. "We’s can plays here toos," Amata offered, still under the impression that Cambi was concerned because she was alone. Turning and finding Got’am, she called, "Come on, Got’am! Less play on the beach!" Her tail wagged happily, hoping that her brother would comply. She turned back to her shyer sister before she shook the water from her fur, forgetting that it would bet Cambi wet too. "Opps," she said, "sorries...." She giggled. "We’s can plays in the sand—remembers the stories Mamma and Dadda told us?" She paused so that Cambi could remember. "Theres was treasures in the sands!" she exclaimed excitedly, The creamy girl bounced up and down, splashing water everywhere. "Less go for a treasure hunts!" Her voice was loud so that Got’am and Mat-tea could hear too.

Sorry this is bad b:

The boy paddled after his sister, whacking the water with his paws rather ineffectually. As Mati complemented Amata's swimming, Gotham looked up to her with wide eyes as if expecting a comment himself. Did Mati know how to swim? Perhaps she could give him some tips. Cambria was still lingering on the shore, and the ebony boy turned in his spot a little, with an inordinate amount of effort, to look at her. All of a sudden, Amata seemed to zoom past him, and he splashed a couple of times before he was composed enough to actually do the strokes (relatively) right and follow her. "I'm a-comin' too, Cammi!" he yipped as he follwed his sister to the shore.

Amata got there much quicker than he did, and as she called back to him he put a little extra push into his paddling hind legs. The water behind him churned and, after a fair amount of time the boy's paws reached the sandy bottom and he took the few steps to solid ground. His fur felt so heavy with all the water and salt in it and so he shook it out before bounding towards his sisters. At Amata's suggestion, he grinned widely and let out an excited yip. "Treasures!" he exclaimed as he bounced up and down. The boy took a few steps down the shore and suggested, "Let's go this way!" It looked more mysterious and exciting in that direction, if only for a little patch of driftwood.

Her dark paws shifted in the sand and she began a short little pace while her eyes stayed glued on her siblings. She didn't want anything bad to happen to them! Not ever! Something so bad had happened to her and she never wanted her brother or sister to go through something like that. Relief washed over her as she saw the older wolf move out to block her siblings from getting swept out into the water any further. Cambi sighed and her shoulders relaxed. Good things Mati was there! It would be very bad if she weren't. Reassurance was called out to her and she looked at the water that so resembled her optics. Hesitantly she moved a little further in, but then there were calls from both Amata and Gotham were coming back to shore. A smile came fully back to her muzzle and her tail wagged, glad that her siblings were coming to rejoin her.

Cambria closed her eyes and giggled as Amata shook and send droplets of sea water all over the place. After her sister was done she took her paw and gently splashed the lighter pup, a happy light in her eyes. She didn't mind playing in the water, at least not here where it was shallow, but playing in the sand would be safer for all of them. Less tiring too, from the heavy panting of her brother and sister. "Ooooh! Yahs! I 'members about da treasures in da sand!" She hadn't, until Amata had said something, but now she did and it sounded like a perfect idea! Gotham quickly picked out the best direction to go and she bounded after him with a happy yip. "Yay treasures! I followin' yous Gothawm!" The Marino was perfectly content to be a follower, she felt safer and more confident that way. Plus, Gotham was a brave explorer and would know the best location of such things as treasure!

omg they r CUTE!

Mati was beginning to enjoy the new role of baby sitter. There was something special about being the one to watch over the young wolves of the pack. She took pride in her small job, assuring the rest of the adults that no harm would come to the pups while under her watch and making sure that they were treated with the best of care. She was a shadow, hidden among the scenery as they played in the water. A smile graced her face, soft as reflective as were her words. Cambria approached, tentative and hesitant but still she listened and trusted her. She would let nothing harm them, and yet Mati was slightly relieved when the boldest and loudest of pups decided that it was time to leave the water. Out of all the attractions the beach held, the water was surly the most dangerous. Gotham was not far to follow and then the three concocted a plan to find buried treasures. The chocolate hued fey moved slowly from the water, still enjoying the chill of the ocean and reflecting on the comfort as the pups moved on to the next adventure.

For a moment as she reached the shore, moving more quickly and with a little trot the young woman felt the urge to bellow, Treasures! along side of the pups. The word swelled in her chest, but he held it in an only ran after the three. With a skip in her step Mati ran beside Cambria who trailed the rest. Her smile was wide, and the pup inside the grown wolfess wondered what sort of things they actually could find. Thoughts strayed to her Aunt, and the necklace that she wore. The shell was beautiful, and Mati figured that this was where it was found. Violet eyes looked to the sand, maybe she would find something as well. Skirting the shore Mati let the low tide tease her toes as she walked across the sand, staying silent and letting the youngsters pave the way.

"Yeahs, yeahs," the creamy pup commented at her chocolate sister’s remembering. And when Got’am came up, the girl smiled, turning her gaze to find her brother’s blue eyes. Amata was certainly glad that both of her siblings agreed. She nodded determinedly as if it were a great secret adventure before following her brother with a delighted, "Okays!" Her tail wagged excitedly, and she held it straight up in the air as she fell in line behind the darker boy, prancing and bouncing and running at random, a smile bright upon her little maw.

It was hard to run in the sand, she decided, because the sand was always trying to eat her feet. It must be a game! Giggling happily, the girl began to travel in large leaps, leaping from place to place so that she could stay out of the sand’s sucking ground. It was a difficult task, but she thought that she was succeeding. Her blue and green gaze was fixed upon the ground as if there was treacherous footing that needed to be avoided and watched carefully. But briefly the creamy girl looked up and found, to her excitement, that the pile of driftwood was near. While Got’am had not said that he was heading for it, it made sense to the girl that they would look for treasure in that pile because it was probably hiding there. Amata was about to tell her siblings her thoughts when she stepped on something hard. She paused instantly, her gaze looking down at the front paw that had stepped upon the hard thing. Cocking her head, the young pup lifted her paw and lowered her nose to peer under it. There came a delighted gasp. "Looks, guys! Looks!" Cafefully she dug around the shell. "I founded a shell likes Mamma’s!" Of course, the shell only partially resembled her mothers, but it was close enough that the little girl couldn’t tell. The colour was a washed grey, or maybe a purple, or even a white. Whatever it was, she had found it! Carefully she dug around it before picking it up carefully in her jaws and holding it up triumphantly for all to see.

He grinned as he pranced along the shore, his eyes fixed on the great piles of driftwood ahead of him. There were plenty of places to hide things within the knots of wood, so surely there would be treasures tucked in there! When Cambria exclaimed that she was following him, there was an extra hop in his step, and with a further glance over his shoulder he saw that Amata was following, too. This was so exciting! Gotham hoped that they would find treasure, because it would be shiny! He liked shiny things, especially if they had lots of different shiny parts.

When Amata declared that she had found something, the black pup stopped and turned, bounding back over to her. He watched curiously as she pulled the sand from around the shell, and beamed up at her when she held it up in her mouth. "Yay, Manna!" he exclaimed, "You can a-wear it like Mamma!" He grinned some more. The boy was proud that his sister had found something very nice, and he would admit that it was a beautiful shell, but it didn't make him all that excited. It was not shiny. He wanted shiny treasures.

Ithen made this! ♥

The sand was fun and soft to walk in, but it was hard! It felt to the girl like having to learn to walk all over again. All the coordination she had gained over her few months of life went out the window when faced with walking in the shifting ground. She was determined to keep up with her brother though and her eyes stayed focused on the pile of driftwood as her legs and paws worked to keep her moving towards it. She may not have been much of an explorer, but she liked to explore with her brother and sister. While it had started out kind of scary, the rainy day she had spent with her brother in the caves had ended up being fun and filling the shy pup with some confidence. Confidence was a good thing and she needed more of it.

Ears and head turned back as her sister said that she had found something. Oh wow, treasure already? How exciting! Gotham ran past her as she also turned to hop back over to where Amata was digging something out of the sand. A shell? Oh that was so so neat! The image of the pink shell that always hung around their mother's neck flashed brightly in her young mind and her tail wagged excitably. It was so neat that Amata had found one! The Marino looked in awe as her light sibling held it up for all to see. "Yahs! Gothawm's rights! Dadda could makes you a neckwace, rights Mati?" She looked to their caretaker. On the day they had found Ambrose the hedgehog Mati had said something about their father being able to make them shell necklaces like momma's. Now that she thought about it again she wanted to find a shell too! Would there be more around? Cambria looked at the sand between her front paws curiously.
