Cambria, 500+

Again the Aston child was trespassing into Crimson Dreams without a thought. Again the blonde child should have waited on the borders and call for the one she wanted to meet, but this third time was no better than the rest. The golden eyed girl did not ever realize her rude behaviour. She never seemed to do, because every member she had run into while going wild in another pack’s territory had been exceptionally nice to her. Noir Aston had only visited Crimson Dreams whenever she stepped over her beloved Aniwaya borders, and she really liked it here. In addition, as she never quite felt truly safe in neutral area (Brennt would always hunt her mind and suggest that loners could be evil), crossing over CD borders filled her with relief and safety. She wished Aniwaya and this pack could have lied right next to each other. Perhaps they could have been one pack too then. Noir had so many ideas, and could not understand why they were not a reality. Things would have been so much easier if the packs had not been scattered about. The blonde girl had also wanted to find Lysander the duck house man fixer extraordinaire, but she did not know exactly where Phoenix Valley was located, and not entirely sure if it was in that pack that the man had come from. Uncle Ho had come from there, and from his doubtful tales it sounded like a creepy place, so Noir was not sure if she dared to go there. Lysander should come to Aniwaya with Noir too.

Baby Duck was probably waddling after uncle Ho in the house they were now sharing, so Noir was alone. The girl had never dared to take her baby along on such a long walk, and she was still a bit afraid of that some people would want to eat it. She did not wish for that, even if her baby was a bit challenged in every way. There was something seriously wrong with Baby Duck’s neck. It was super long now, and he was still gray and not colourful like most of the ducks in the lake. She did not really understand. Dull as the girl was at times, she had now yet admitted that there was a possibility that her Baby Duck was a growing swan. Toefur had been chosen as her companion today. Cambreeah had not yet met him! The girl hesitated in her tracks and looked upwards when she thought she heard a flutter of miniature wings. There was nothing to be seen, but she did not feel as if she was alone. The odd feeling reminded her kind of about the day she met Kinigisdi. Dawali had said that they could be invisible too, these spirit guides. The girl chose to believe just that. There was comfort in such a thought. Today she really wanted to see Cambreeah (or Cambi, as Amata had said), so the young wolf attempted to produce her first howl, which ended out sounding more like a whiny howl than any other kind of howl.

When this was done, Noir dropped her head and lowered her muzzle to the faded and somewhat dirty octopus toy by her side. Was she too old for this? Never, the girl decided without a second thought.

It was a nice day today, and that made things a lot easier for Cambria. Everyday she had to go out and get fresh greens for Leafy to eat and it was much better when it was not raining. The rain wouldn't stop her from getting food for her cat-pill, but she much preferred the task when it was sunny and not pouring. Because when it rained she would come inside and be all wet and muddy and then momma or daddy would have to dry her off with a towel. Plus, when it was sunny, like it was today, she could walk further and find better leaves and stuff. Her Leafy deserved the best leaves that Crimson Dreams had to offer and she was determined to find them this day. Already she had a good selection between her jaws, but she wanted to get one or two more before returning home.

Though soon the pup was distracted from her gathering task. A funny little howl was carried through the air. It was not an adult, that was clear. It sounded like when she or her siblings tried howling. Something was familiar about that voice though. But what was it? Cambria searched her brain but it was not coming to her. That meant that she would have to go investigate who had called out. Sometimes that might have scared her, but something told her she knew the owner of this voice already. That and the fact it was probably someone young like she was abated those fear and she more or less confidently trotted in the direction that the little howl had come from.

The Marino trotted and trotted and trotted until finally a shape came into view. The shape was pale, but not so pale as her father or sister. It was more yellowy. Then finally everything clicked. It was Noir! Oh yay! It had been so long since she had seen Noir, but now her friend had finally come to see her! She wanted to bark, but her mouth was full of leaves and so she could not. Instead a happy squeal came from her throat and she ran towards her good good friend, tail going at a hundred miles per hour.

Noir was not patient enough to wait for anyone to come and greet. She had already ventured deeper and was an official trespasser anyway. Not that the girl was aware of this, but she continued further, because she thought she knew the exact location of Cambreeah’s home. There was no respond in the air in the form of another howl, so the girl thought that perhaps Cambria was playing hide and seek or something. Noir bounced through the light forest with the poor octopus plushie dancing after with its arm stuck in-between the young girl’s sharp teeth. She also looked for Ares, because he too lived here and she thought about him a lot because he had been so nice to her. Thinking about the boy created a funny, tickling sensation in her chest and belly, and she wanted to see him and stick her muzzle into his fur and sniff, because she remembered his smell as something very pleasant.

It was not Ares, but Cambreeah indeed that was discovered first. Once her golden eyes were locked on the dark puppy, Ares retreated to a distant corner of her brain. Almost instantly, Noir started to giggle. The butterfly puppy was eating leaves! It looked funny! Noir bounced over to the brown puppy and let Toefur fall to the ground without a second thought. ”Cambi!” she cheerfully yipped, using the nickname that Amata had used on her sister. Noir’s tan tail easily competed with Cambria’s tail, revealing all too well that she was thrilled to see the other child again. It was so nice to have friends and come to visit, because it felt extra nice since they had not seen each other for a while. Noir’s smile almost seemed to want to cut her face in half.

”Why are you eating grass? Are you playing? Can I too?” maybe Cambria was playing deer or something. They ate leaves. ”Look, this is Toefur, he wants to meet your butterfly.” the girl added, directing some of the attention to the miserable toy on the forest floor.

There had been times where she had worried that her friend would never come visit her. She worried if she had somehow done something to upset the older girl and that she no longer wanted to be friends. And of course Cambi was too scared to go to AniWaya all by herself. No doubt she would get lost and that would be absolutely awful. The pup couldn't think of anything that would be more scary than being lost out on her own. But after her accident with the nasty white powder she had almost forgotten about everything aside from how bad she felt. Noir had become lost in the haze of her depression. Now Noir was here though! Everything was great!

When she reached the paler girl the Marino carefully set the leaves in her mouth down on the ground and then looked back up to Noir. "Noir! I is so happies to sees you!" It was one of the best things to happen lately! Aside from Leafy and the trip to the beach. "Oh noes! I's not eating its, its for Leafy!" Oh wait, but Noir wouldn't know who Leafy was! "My sister, she founds me a cat-pill to takes care of and his name is Leafy! We's hoping to see da magiks of him changin' into a butterfwies! You gotsta come sees him!" There would be no taking no for an answer, though she highly doubted that Noir would not want to see her cat-pill. She loved butterflies too so she would like cat-pills. Maybe she'd even know when the transformation would take place.

Oceanic eyes looked at the faded pink toy, a smile on her face. "Hello's Toefur!" she said nudging the octopus playfully. "Leafy an mah butterfwie is back at da howses, I show you the way!" Cambria picked her gathered leaves back up and started off in the direction of the mansion, looking back to make sure that Noir was following.

Noir had been in the lands several times with the quest of finding Cambria. Unfortunately, Noir was extremely easy to distract, so the two times before when she had come, she had found other super fun kids instead! This did not mean that Cambria was any less super fun, but Noir had always left afterwards so that she got home before the scary dark came and chased away the sun. The dark was scary, and she always seemed to see Brennt the puppy eater walking around in the dark, looking and her and wanting to eat her. Such scary thoughts were far from the blonde girl’s mind though. She beamed blissfully at the reassurance that Cambreeah was happy to see her. Noir stared at the leaves as the girl stated that it was for Leafy. What was a leafy? There were lots of leaves there? Or,.. Noir found out that she did not understand at all. Then all of a sudden she did, because the chocolate coated puppy told her what and who Leafy was. Oh, it sounded so exciting! Why did Cambi have a Leafy and not Noir? She had to meet him. ”Oh, yes, so much please, I really want to see Leafy! He sounds super cool!” Noir squealed, sounding more like a child on Cambria’s age than a youth closing up on adulthood.

She was happy to see the girl greet her long time plushie friend so warmly, and wagged her face from side to side pleasantly just like her tail. She picked up the faded pink toy and danced after the girl. Wow, she was going home to Cambria now! She had never seen the girl’s house before. So much excitement and fun today, she was so happy that she finally had come and found the butterfly puppy! ”Yes, show way! Yay!” Noir bounced up on Cambria’s side. Her salmon tongue stuck out of her mouth together with Toefur’s arm as she panted happily. Life was so good.

This is kind of rambly and bad x.x 300+

Cambria hadn't had the slightest idea that Noir had come to look for her other times. It had probably happened when she was still sick and in the house all the time. That was a very large chunk of her life, or at least it seemed so to her. The amount of time that she had been around was still quite short, and she had been like that for a couple weeks or so, and so that was a lot of time. Noir probably could have come here to try and find her a hundred times in that span! Oh well though. Cambi was better now and Noir was here and they could just pick up where they had left off! At least that's what all the adults said it seemed when they met back up with friends. The pup whined with excitement as her friend confirmed that yes, she did want to go and see Leafy. The little cat-pill was her pride and joy and she couldn't wait to show him to her best friend.

As she had looked back to make sure the older pup was following, Noir came up alongside her and they ran as fast as they could to the mansion. Well, as fast as Cambria could run. The older wolf could run much much faster than she could. Though she was getting faster and more coordinated! Thankfully the house was really not that far away and before long its giant, looming structure came into sight. Sea foam eyes looked sideways to her friend to see what she thought of the big house. She remembered that Noir didn't live in a house, or she hadn't when she had met her. She lived in a funny hole in the ground like a bunny rabbit. That had seemed so silly to the manor-raised child. It was strange that not everyone lived in a similar building.

With some last exertions of effort the chocolate girl bounded up the stairs to the porch and the front door. Then she shoved her nose against the door, slowly working it open so they could slip through to the inside. Once in the entryway she motioned with her head to the stairs leading up to the second floor of the house. Leafy was in the room she and her family all shared. Large feet climbed the stairs deftly, used to the motions and walked directly to the open door of the room. There near the window was the large mason jar that held her cat-pill. Bright eyed she walked over and set the leaves down next to it. "I gots you more foods Leafy! An' look! Here is my bestest fwiend Noir!" Cambria looked to the blond girl expectantly.

Expectations were high as they padded to the house. Noir knew what a caterpillar was, but she could actually not remember when she had seen one last. How exactly did the baby insect become a butterfly? Noir let the brown puppy enter the house first (because or else she would not know where to go!) She slipped in through the entrance door right behind the butterfly puppy, and her tail thumped forcefully against the wall for a few moments before she bounced after the Marino girl. Once she had too had issues with running up stairs, but now it was so easy. Noir followed behind Cambi, thinking of how big she had to be now since she did not have troubles roaming around in those odd human stairs things. She was much bigger than Cambria now, and she did no longer hold the puppy rank either. She did not like the times she was drifting towards, because she felt like a child still and wished only to be that.

Finally they entered a room that did not lead into yet another room so that meant that they were there. There was a large jar there, and Noir stood still in the doorway for one moment watching Cambi set down the leaves next to it. The introduction was cute, and Noir strode in with long, proud steps, pretending to be elegant. Her tail was still doing its own thing though, because this was so so super exciting. She pressed her face lightly against the transparent glass, looking at a little green coloured creature that crawled around inside the jar. An excited squeak left her lips involuntarily, because it was very cute though not as cute as a butterfly. It would be a butterfly soon though, wouldn’t it? Noir detached her face from the jar slowly. ”Hello Leafy, how are you today!” the girl asked excitedly.

Ever since Amata had found Leafy for her and suggested that she talk to Noir about caring for him she had anxiously awaited the time to show Noir her cat-pill. She knew her friend would have plenty of good tips for her because she had a baby that was much more difficult to take care of: a duck! Ducks were bigger and no doubt harder to care for than a cat-pill. Cambria didn't think she would be up to such a task, but she was capable of taking care of the small insect. He was still active and healthy and wiggled at her when she brought him food and talked to him. She wished she knew when he would turn into a butterfly. So far she had seen no obvious changes in her charge. Would there be signs that he was almost ready to change? Or would it happen suddenly? The pup was afraid of missing such a miraculous event and hoped that Leafy would wait for her to be present for such a thing. She hoped that Amata would be able to see it too.

She watched with barely contained excitement as Noir walked up and looked into the jar at Leafy. A happy whine escaped her as the other girl squeaked and her tail beat around all the harder. As the new voice entered the room it seemed that the little green cat-pill turned to take in the larger wolf, his little legs wiggling as they always did. "I think he's sayin hellos to you, Noir!" she said nodding her head with happiness. "I's been takin' cares of him for a whiles now! I done a goods job, yes?" She desperately wanted the approval of her friend who was so experienced in the area of taking care of other creatures. Of course no one had ever said she wasn't doing a good job, but she really wanted to hear praise from the Aston girl. "Oh! How is Baby Duck?" Cambria had no doubt that Noir's baby was doing just fantastic. How could he not be with such a great mommy?

Hi, this sucks. 300+

Noir was completely sure that the little green cat-pill was saying hallo, because it seemed to turn to her and wave with its small legs. Oh, it was so very cute. Noir could not get over the cuteness. Noir nodded at Cambriaaah, smiling (as always). ”Yes, he is, is waving at me!” The tan child turned her attention back to the caterpillar, tilting her head in awe. So extremely cute. Even if the young insects did not have any pretty wings, they were still super duper cute. Noir had never touched a caterpillar, but it looked soft and was probably very nice to touch. ”Leafy, you are super cute, I too want a Leafy, do you have any friends I can borrow?” One should have thought that question was intended for Cambria, but no, Noir was conversing with the green little thing as if actually expecting it to talk back. Perhaps she actually did.

”I think you have done a very good job, he seems very happy. When will he become a pretty butterfly and do you knows what kind of butterfly he will become?” Noir really liked the ones with lots of red and other colours on them, but the yellow and blue ones were cute too. Well, all butterflies were super pretty, so it did not really matter. Oh, Noir wished that she could be here when Leafy turned into a super pretty butterfly. Perhaps she would. She would ask Cambria later about it anyways, if she would not forget about it. Noir knew what she was going to do the next day now. She was going to go out and see if she could find a Leafy that she could keep and watch turn into a butterfly.

”Baby Duck is fine, but I don’t think he is well, because he is still greyish and his neck is really, really long now, and I don’t think ducks are supposed to have super long necks.” Was Cambria Leafy’s mommy? Oh, yes, she was! ”Cambria, you are super best mommy with Leafy, I think.” the girl said, nodding with approval at her younger friend.

Nah <3 300+

Cambria's smile grew and showed her white puppy teeth. She was so happy that Leafy had waved at Noir! Cat-pill's weren't as easy to read as other creatures, but she felt like she could read him from the way he moved and the wiggling of his many little legs. In her mind he was polite and proper, everything a good gentleman should be. For he was going to be a handsome and distinguished boy butterfly someday and of course that was the way he should behave. He was a very, very good cat-pill. Probably the best cat-pill ever. She knew that her sister had searched all over for him and she would not have brought a mean cat-pill. She even doubted that cat-pills had the ability to be mean.

The Marino girl watched contentedly as Noir conversed with Leafy. It did not seem at all strange to her, for she too talked to Leafy every day. He was not a pet to her and the pup probably wouldn't have even understood the concept of a "pet". She hadn't thought of herself as a mommy exactly, but she was his caretaker, just like Mati took care of her and her brother and sister. Cambria squealed as the approval that she had so been hoping for came and her body vibrated from the happiness flooding her system. It was all she could do to not attack Noir with kisses right then and there. "Thank yous!!" She was surprised to hear that her older friend didn't know when he would turn into a butterfly. She had thought she would. It didn't matter too much though. "I dunnos, I thought you mights. I've hads him for a while, so hopefully soons? An' I dunno what he will look like, though I'm sure he will be vewy handsomes. He will be a boy butterfwies, after alls." The pup nodded her head, yes, that was how it would be.

Some of her excitement drained when she heard that Baby Duck was not as good as she had expected him to be. A sad frown came to her face. Oh, that was no good! No, no good at all. Poor Baby Duck! "Oh noes...does your pack haves a medikal persons? Maybe they will knows how to helps?" Crimson Dreams did not, or she would have offered them to help. They had, but their healer had been bad and mean and not so good. Cambi was surprised at the words that came next and the happiness overtook her again. "Reallies?!" she exclaimed. The kiss attack she had held back before could not be held back anymore and she rushed at Noir, her little pink tongue licking her face.

Whee 300+

Golden eyes could not stay away from that little wriggling thing. It was odd. There were insects that she did not particularly like. Maggots were not all that cute either, but she actually did like caterpillars. It was not only because she knew that they would turn into super cute butterflies, but their baby form was actually cute. Cute colour and so cute face and body. She wanted to ask Cambria to touch it, but none of the girls seemed to have the required optime form to do such a thing. They could not risk hurting him in any way. Well, she was super happy that Cambria had liked her enough to introduce her to Leafy. It was a real honour.

Noir felt a bit sad for not being able to answer when Leafy would become a butterfly when it was revealed that Cambria had hoped that she could answer that question. The girl’s eyes narrowed in thought. How long was a while? Noir knew that they grew up very fast, because the summer was so short and her mommy said that insects did not live as long as wolves. That knowledge made the girl a little bit sad, because she did not want butterflies to die in winter. She wished there was a place where there was summer all year around. ”Well maybe he will soon then, because they grow up superfast, much faster than you and I.” Noir suggested, not planning to mention that all the cute butterflies would die in winter.

No matter how he would look like, Noir was certain that Leafy would be the cutest and most handsome boy butterfly in the whole wide world. Now, changing subject to Baby Duck, Noir was not really sure what to think anymore. She had not yet played properly with the thought that this could mean that her lovely duckling was in fact no duck at all. Swans were snow white and pretty and gracious, and Baby Duck was gray and clumsy and weird. ”I will go to doctor Dawali soon and see if Baby Duck is sick.” the girl mumbled, definitely planning to visit him and find out what was wrong with her beloved baby.

Suddenly Cambria was all over her and licked her face. The golden eyed girl was taken completely by surprise and fell down on her bum, then curling around on the floor while giggling loudly because it tickled so much. The blonde girl tried to squeak a few words out, but nothing intelligible managed to escape her smiling lips. This was super fun, Noir just loved hanging out and playing with her bestest friend in the whole world. ”Tickles!” the girl eventually managed to gasp, rolling around on the floor. Leafy had to be laughing too, because he was lifting his upper part of body up and down and wriggled with his little arms inside the jar.

This post is kinda all over the place o.o; 300+

Winter was something foreign to the girl. She was a child of springtime and all she had known was warm weather and cool rains. Cambria thought that things would always would be the way they were. A time of year where there were no bugs and everything was cold would seem like a myth to her. She had heard of snow, but it was still hard to imagine. It certainly sounded magical, cold white stuff falling from the sky. Would it fall like rain, she wondered? Or would it be different. After hearing about it she had wanted to drill her father for information but she had not. As much as she wanted to know more, she also didn't want to spoil the surprise of it. It would be more magical if she did not know everything about it beforehand. But her mind was not on the weather now, only focused on Leafy and her conversation with her best friend. "Yahs? I did not knows that. So maybes it will be soon! Maybes he will be a nice cat-pill and wait so Noir can see him change toos!" Cambria was not greedy, she wanted to share the magic.

The Marino child was relieved to hear that AniWaya did have a doctor that Noir could take Baby Duck too. The doctor would know if something was wrong and how to make Baby Duck better. "Oh goods! I's sure Da-wall-ee will make Baby Duck all betters!" He just had to know. "We dun has a doctors here. Hopefully we's get one soons." It was good to have someone who could help sick people. Of course mommy and daddy would take care of she and her siblings if they got sick, but what if something happened to one of them? She couldn't imagine any illness effecting her parents, they were invincible, but it would be good to have one just in case. Mati would have been a good one, but she was her sitter already. Having two jobs would just be impossible.

Cambi showered Noir in licks and kisses and the laughter from the golden girl urged her on. She liked happy laughing Noir! It was good to be happy and laugh. Though as her friend called out that it tickled she stopped and rolled over onto her back, legs waving in the air not unlike the caterpillar. "I loves Noir!" she called out loudly, wanting the whole world to know. "You's ticklish then? My momma is very ticklish. Dadda tickles her a lots." She was ticklish too, though not quite so bad as her mother.
