AtaxiaDelacour

Something was amiss, this wasn't right. As far as she knew how life worked and went, how she felt was off. It was like, something was missing. Perhaps, it was due to the fact that it was becoming ever more apparent that her actions, up until but an evening or so ago, had lead her nowhere in life - philosophically speaking. With all the miles of country and forest she'd seen through the last few years, she'd accomplished nothing. Retained no personal bonds with anyone, shaking free any who seemed to have interest in hanging around. It had been nothing to her up until late. In fact, it wasn't often that she'd even really thought about how lonely it had become to live her lifestyle. Though now, it seemed that two years of her life had been blinked away in a useless journey that had taken her nowhere.

Joining the ranks of this pack had satisfied her disturbing and new urge for purpose for but a few moments. Though the change was drastic, it was as if it had been but a temporary fix. Now here she sat, alone still but simply now having confined herself to one place rather than be simply.. meandering aimlessly. Yes, this was all something she wasn't sure she was ready to handle. She'd been so relieved just to be away from her small primitive clan of a family she didn't care about the destination less journey. Well, for now she was at least going to have to be temporarily satisfied with what little she'd recently accomplished. She just couldn't stand the feeling of restlessness.

Ataxia was indeed in rare form tonight. The woman, normally always remaining in her true-wolf form (being pure of blood, unlike many whom she'd come to meet over time) had taken to her hind-legs, her werewolf side being a sure-fire signal to any who knew her that she was anxious. Sitting in the settling post-sunset haze, her duo-colored gaze was turned towards the cliffs edge, watching the distant, blurred forms of the crashing waves. She had to admit, she loved the lay of what she had seen of the territory so far. She assumed if she looked into it (this meaning she'd be taking this form more often) she could get into one of the cottages just a stones throw from here. That was a topic to think more upon at a later date, for now.. she just wanted to enjoy the bite of the salty wind, feeling the light blonde-brown locks of her hair-like mane blowing over her human-like shoulders. Yes, she was indeed in rare form tonight.

Hello! Though I'd pop Haven in here Smile 300+

It was a particularly beautiful night and Haven, knowing that soon such nights would be gone, had decided to take advantage of it and head out on a walk. He almost left his sword behind, but decided against that notion. Yes, he wasn't going to be near the borders, but there had been a slew of trespassers lately and if he did run into one he didn't want to be without the weapon. Thankfully he had never had to use it on anyone, but knowing that he had it in case it was needed gave him strength and confidence to defend the pack as he was sworn to do. Besides, anyone devious enough to be lurking around deep into claimed lands after the sun had set probably didn't have the best intentions in mind. Better to be prepared and not need it than to go out empty handed and get into trouble.

The hybrid walked down the beach, the comforting sounds of the waves at his side filling his head. After living her for so many months he didn't think that he could ever live anywhere that was from from the sea. It helped him get to sleep at night and he had come to find that it always offered a breathtaking view, no matter what time of day it was. Since his house was so close to the shore he wanted to try his had at fishing as well. He was meaning to take a trip to the city and see if he couldn't find some supplies and books that would help him learn some techniques. Adding some new cuisine to his diet certainly wouldn't hurt him any.

The wind blew his mane to and fro and as he brushed it from his eyes he saw a ghostly figure in the distance. Jades squinted, trying to find if the figure was in any way familiar. It was not, though as he caught a whiff of the scent he found that she carried the smell of Cour des Miracles. Haven was glad it wasn't an intruder, and meeting a new packmate was always good. A soft smile came to his face as he walked closer. "Lovely evening, isn't it?" he called out, alerting her to his presence if she hadn't noticed him already.

She wasn't hard to please per say, and far from being high-maintenance. In fact, as far as the female population went, she was set off from the majority in many ways. She wasn't the type to fuss, or the type to brood or even swoon. As far as interactions with the opposite sex went, she tended to avoid them at all costs, hating the majority of them due to biased and sexist ideas deeply embedded in her memory from various past experiences. Most males tended to be brutish pigs, letting their groin do their thinking for them. She herself hadn't ever really become involved with a male, but she had plenty of brothers and male family-members to have learned that lesson from. Yes, it was easy to see that she was quite stubborn. Like an old mule stuck in her ways.

With an absent mind, her long talons raked through the pale mane of hers, a sheen had taken into her coat, undoubtedly caused by the luminescent glow that the moon cast. She would have been entirely content to spend the remainder of the evening alone, but as a deep, masculine voice split the silence it became apparent that it was to be otherwise. She didn't give a start, though she had been surprised by how close the brute had gotten without having been alerted. Curiously her teal and blue chasms were turned upon him, her slender neck craning up a bit as she was still seated and planned on remaining so. His words had been a pointless toss-out, that she was assumed was intended to be an invitation for her to engage him in conversation. A rather blank look was presented across her feminine features, as she regarded him for a few precious moments, retaining the semi-silence as long as possible before her strong lungs took in a rush of the salty-air, exhaling sharply as she offered a weak, obviously out-of-practice smile. "Yes, very.." she replied rather awkwardly, having looked back in the direction of the sea as she spoke. "I think its owed to calm of the sea" she added, her duo-hued gaze remaining on the lulling waves for the time being. She knew, from simple common sense, that it was rude of her to go on much further without at least some form of introduction. "I'm Ataxia" she fumbled, feeling rather lame as she did so. She wouldn't ever dare brag of being socially graceful, for she knew that would be a complete and total lie.

When he was fairly close to where she was sitting, but not too close, he stopped and looked down at her in a friendly manner. When she looked up at him though, it wasn't quite so friendly. Not unfriendly, she wasn't scowling at him, it was a neutral look but he got the distinct impression that she would have been much happier if he had not come along. This made an awkwardness crawl up his spine, though he was able to keep up his composure. Haven was a very social creature and always like meeting new faces. When faced with indifference or rudeness though it made him clam up a bit. He wasn't sure which if either of those he was about to get from this woman, but he found himself holding his breath a little waiting to see which way this encounter would turn.

After a few moments of uncomfortable silence however he was offered a smile in return. A bit of a weak smile, but it was still a smile, and so Haven took it as a good sign. He didn't presume to sit next to her however, and wouldn't unless she invited him to. Either way wouldn't matter much to him, he was just as comfortable standing and he didn't want to impose himself on her. "I'd have to agree with you there. The sea is often very calming." When it wasn't stormy or the waves too strong there was an undeniable soothing element that came with the ocean. His gaze turned from her out to the endless stretch of water before them, the moon reflected up its vast surface. "I'm Haven, it's nice to meet you." Silence filled a minute or two of time before he ventured to speak again. "Did you join here recently?" It may have been a bit of a silly question, but he figured it was a simple one at least.

Ataxia felt somewhat.. inferior, especially with the way she had to crane her neck to look up at him. She'd been doing her best job of avoiding looking at her newly gained company by watching the rhythmic crashing of the waves, but as he spoke again she found her gaze automatically trailing back to him, her sharp fangs gripping at the velveteen lower lip as she gave a faint nod of her head, not voicing any agreement though. It wasn't that she necessarily didn't want his company, she just hadn't been given time to grow comfortable with his company - a feat that would take longer for her than it would for most others.

He seemed well versed in the art of communication, and wasted no time in issuing a casual question which she found herself deeply contemplating, though a vague answer would have sufficed. Swallowing the lump that seemed to be continuously growing, her mug bore another awkward smile, as she shyly brushed the locks of her thick mane behind her perfectly angular aud. She finally couldn't take the awkward difference of height between them, and pushed off the sandy ground with her left arm, and rose to her (short) full height. Shifting her weight slightly, she looked away towards the cliff once more, her muzzle parting as her soft voice chimed, "Yes, It was only a day or so ago. A spontaneous decision.. never really chose to stay somewhere very long by my own will.." she remained looking out over the ocean, finding it to be her constant that she could seek comfort from while feeling so terribly nervous and awkward. Finding a week moment of slight confidence she stole a glance toward him, "Have you been here a long time?" a pointless question, but at least the conversation would be as one-sided.

As the time passed it didn't seem so much that there was anything about him in particular that made her uncomfortable, but that she just wasn't used to these small interactions that were so commonplace to the Knight. It struck him as something a little odd. He wasn't judging her in the least, it was just hard for him to imagine not enjoying the company of others. The only times that Haven had ever forcefully sought solitude was when he was horribly depressed for some reason or another. Otherwise he enjoyed being around others and he always had. He wasn't stupid enough to think everyone was like him in that matter, but for the most part wolves sought the company of their kind. To meet someone who for the most part didn't was interesting.

When Ataxia stood up his bi-colored ears flicked back guiltily. He hadn't meant to make her even more uncomfortable by remaining standing, he just hadn't thought she had wanted him to sit down with her. It was clear he needed to be careful of how he acted and what he said, he didn't want to offend her. "I see. Well, welcome to Cour des Miracles," he offered, feeling sort of dumb. "Hopefully you'll like it here." It was always impossible to stay and who wouldn't, but at the very least Haven always hoped that the time others did spend here wasn't unpleasant. She spared him a glance and he smiled warmly, hoping to convey the fact that he was harmless. "A pretty long time, since the pack was formed. About 5 months I think it's been." Now that he said it out loud it was surprising to think that much time had already passed. Even more startling was that he had spent almost as much time in this pack now as he had spent in his birth pack.

"Oh Wow.." The words had been uttered upon an impulse, her mouth seeming to slip off it's mental leash, her gaze diverting to the ground as she silently reprimanded herself. She wasn't the type to do much of anything on impulse (which made her sudden decision to join the ranks of this pack all the more out-of-place) and rarely spoke without prior careful consideration. Even though it wasn't as if she'd done or said anything embarrassing, she intended on not ever doing so, hence the need for a 'mental leash' of sorts. It wasn't that she was afraid of being embarrassed, in fact she'd only been mortified but once - but it had been enough to make her hate any situation that could turn embarrassing on her behalf. Clearing her throat slightly, she managed to retrain her gaze upon Haven, her stance lacking strength and betraying her lack of confidence. "That really is a long time.." It was almost impossible for her to comprehend. It was true that she'd spent more than that amount of time with her family's pack, but she was sure it didn't feel as long as that had for her. He obviously enjoyed living here, and he seemed to be the cheery sort, so he wasn't living every day praying to be strong and able enough to make a run for it.

She hadn't even noticed the soft smile that had come across her angular muzzle, and clearing her throat (a fit of habit) she shifted her slender body restlessly, her gazing shifting now to the heavens, which were beginning to twinkle with night's first lights. "I bet it's been nice.." she mused, seeming as if she were talking more to herself than to him. It had been a rhetorical statement, requiring no response, and thus she waited not a second longer before locking her gaze back upon him. "I am sure I will like it. It's kept me longer than most places tend to already.." it was a stab at including a little bit about herself into the conversation. That was what you were supposed to do, right?

Her immediate response didn't shock him in the least, it seemed normal to him. But clearly it wasn't to her as she looked shyly down at the ground after doing so. A part of him wanted to assure her that it was fine, she had no cause to be so careful around him, but he decided against it. That might just make things worse and more awkward. Ataxia didn't seem like the type to appreciate someone coddling her in such a way. It wouldn't really be appropriate either, considering she was older than him. Haven was more mature than his age, but it was that quality that aided him in situations like this. For the most part he thought about things before barreling into them now. He hadn't been that way as a pup, but his experiences had given him wisdom and changed that particular trait. "Yeah, especially for someone my age. That's practically half my life," he said, chuckling softly. The hybrid had changed a lot in those months since the pack had formed though. He had regained some of his old confidence and he had begun his training with swords and working with his horse companion, Drogon. Yes, a lot had happened in five months.

She seemed to be smiling a bit more easily and Haven took that as a good sign. He was also glad to hear that, so far at least, her stay here had been nice. There wasn't really any reason he could think of why it wouldn't be, outside of her unfamiliarity with living in a group, but it was still good to hear. He was far from being the leader of this pack, but he was the protector and so he liked to know that the others were content. "Seems like we have a good start then." It was hard for him to imagine being so constantly on the move. He had never been outside of Nova Scotia. "Where are you from then? Far away?" Perhaps she was from across the sea.

we will fight, and we will fall;

The conversation was flowing somewhat smoothly, though with great effort on her part. She was peculiar - rough around the edges actually, but she wasn't a true recluse. There was indeed that part of her that thrived on interactions such as this, even if she was a mess of nerves beneath the surface at the current moment. Slender auds gave a microscopic twitch as he spoke of 'someone his age'. She hadn't really paid his physical attributes much mind, being preoccupied with her own social ignorance. With a more direct glance at him, tell tale sings of youth softened his features slightly, thought without his comment she wouldn't really have noticed much. Feeling a little off, for having assumed him to be older than he was she (again) cleared her throat slightly.

Glad for the subject change, she gave a small nod of her head, that small smile of hers returning briefly, before being stowed away again, a thoughtful looking be aimed at him as he spoke again. Well, here she could go on and on now couldn't she? Yeah, she wasn't feeling all too up too that, but she needn't disappoint him with another lame answer. "You could definitely say that." the laugh was somewhat dry, as she felt no fondness within her at the memories of her old clan. "It's taken me just short of two years to wind up here -- though I've done all kinds of turn-arounds. Probably couldn't even find my way back there at this point, not that you should take that as a complaint. I wouldn't want to go back anyhow." It felt like such a mouthful compared to the meager quips she was accustomed too. She really hadn't hung around a specific group long enough for such questions to be asked. Shifting her weight again, her gaze was found again upon the uneven terrain beneath her fur-covered feet. Nasty habit that was, she knew the importance of making eye-contact, but then again that didn't mean she really cared.

Sorry if this reply is kind meh, felt like I was blathering XD 300+

Ataxia slowly seemed to be easing more and more into their interaction and Haven was glad that she was able to warm up to him. He liked to think he was a nice person and easy to get along with, but everyone always had their own perceptions of themselves and they weren't always correct. There were times that other people knew more about how a person actually was than the person themselves. No one had ever told Haven he wasn't nice though and the only time he had (soberly) not gotten along with anyone else was with Ezekiel and Svara. He still didn't understand what exactly had set the Inferni male off and Svara had grated on everyone. This made the boy pretty confident that overall, he was someone the majority of people could get along with, and so was glad that he was able to make Ataxia feel more comfortable.

His eyes widened slightly as she revealed how long she had been on the go. "Wow! You must have come a long ways then." Haven couldn't even imagine how far someone could go in two years' time, even if they were backtracking some. The distance between where she had started and where she was now must be immense. It was clear that she had no desire to ever return to where she had come from though. While Haven still had fond memories of his birth pack and missed it still from time to time, he could understand how it wasn't the same for everyone. He also understood the desire to run away from the past. "I've never left these lands, so that's pretty amazing." The Knight was curious as to why she had such disdain for her land of origin, but felt that asking such so early into meeting one another would be prying where he wasn't wanted.

we will fight, and we will fall;

The small laugh that left her came with obvious surprise on her part. She did her best to mask it, simply clearing her throat yet another time as she allowed her gaze to begin wandering once more. Duo-colored chasms seemed distant as she gazed towards the silhouettes of jutting cliffs further up the coastline. She couldn't help but feel out of place still, like a stranger looking in. It hadn't set in that she 'belonged' here now, she still felt like she was on the border-line of being a trespasser. It wasn't as if anyone made her feel that way in particular, especially not the brute before her. She was just... odd in the head she supposed. Of course, if she really thought about it she'd probably start to see it was natural for someone having experienced what she had with the last clan she'd been with to be somewhat nervous about this whole situation.

She hadn't meant to zone out, but it was something she'd made a habit of doing. Lacking constant company had drove her to instinctively recede into her thoughts, allowing them to run away with her. Now, she felt somewhat embarrassed, though again she did her very best to stow the feeling away. Drawing in a deep breath, she straightened her posture ever so slightly, giving him a small smile, the look on her face slightly apologetic. "Sorry.. But, you said you never left? You were born here?" she supposed the question was somewhat stupid, being that was most likely what he had meant by saying that. Wanting to keep the conversation flowing away from her semi-blunder, she toed at the turf somewhat, her eyes wandering down a few moments before lifting once again. "All I remember about where I was born was that it was... well.. really far north. There was almost always snow. I think it may have been in the mountains, I don't really remember though" it was unnatural for one to speak of their birth-home with such indifference as she did. She wasn't trying to be secretive, in fact she was over the embarrassment behind how she'd come to gain this... weird ability to shift. It had been so long ago in her mind, she'd basically numbed herself too it. There was no changing it, so there wasn't any point in dwelling on it. Still, she couldn't fight the slight drop in her stomach at the mere thought. It betrayed no physical change in her features though, as she offered yet another of her small smiles to her company.

Haven thought he heard her laugh, but when he looked over to her he didn't see any humor on her face really, so perhaps he'd been mistaken. It was clear that Ataxia was very guarded and he couldn't help but be curious as to why. There had to be some reason and any reason for someone to act in that way probably wasn't good. The smile on his face didn't change, but inwardly he was concerned over what had befallen the pale woman to make her so uncomfortable around others. She had probably been hurt, but had it been physical? Emotional? Both? He hated senseless violence, especially any that was committed against women. The Knight made a mental note to keep an eye on her and make sure that she was adjusting alright from now on.

He wasn't at all offended that she had drifted off a bit, he wasn't so full of himself to think he was some amazingly interesting individual and he should have her constant, rapt attention. He just shook his head in a light manner. "It's okay, no need to apologize. Well, not here, but in a pack not too far to the west of here called Crimson Dreams. I guess I should've said that I've never been out of this general area." Haven practically shivered at the idea of place that was always cold and covered in snow. "Yuck! I can't blame you for leaving, that sounds pretty awful. I don't think I could deal with it being winter all the time." The Aatte male most definitely preferred the warmer months of the year. As she offered him another small smile his own grew a little bit. Hopefully at some point those smiles would come more easily for the femme, they suited her soft features well.

She had to admit, she was become rather glad of his company, feeling far less isoclated. It was amazing what simple conversation could do to alter one's dark mood. Imagine if more beings in this world who were willing to go out of their way to be just polite. Not even overly-nice, simply acting intrigued enough to appear genuinely interested. That simple action served to lift her spirts enough to draw her ever so slightly from her self-fabricated shell. Still the small smile remained painted across her features, as she shifted her weight ever so slightly.

It was beginning to get truly dark, but she didn't mind it much, and said nothing as she let a small laugh gather a tiny bit of strength, shaking her head ever so slightly as her slender shoulders gave a bit of a roll. "It wasn't even that to be honest.." she hadn't ever minded the snow.. in fact being that she had been raised in such a place she somewhat prefered it. Nights like this that carried the bite of winter on it's breeze were the best. Especially with the salty hint added by the ice-cold ocean waters, it simply seemed to fit her, the feeling of warmth against the cold was the most amazing, she simply loved it. "I actually love the cold.." she admitted, with a small smile, having rightly assumed that he perfered otherwise.

Haven really didn't even noticed how dark it was. When you had pleasant company than what else was going on around you didn't matter all that much. He had stayed up late with his sister on many occasions, even when the circumstances surrounding their talks wasn't the best. Though Mati was his sister, and so it didn't matter what the situation was or what time it was, he would always be there for her when she needed him and wanted to talk. That had been the whole reason he had found a house here that had two bedrooms, because whenever she came to visit he wanted her to have a comfortable place to sleep. Of course the same offer would be extended to his mother and his other sister Brooklyn as well, he had had Brooklyn stay over once, but Anu had never come to see him. Nor had Naniko, but he wasn't entirely certain he would feel comfortable having her stay in his house. Not after everything that had happened since he left Crimson Dreams.

He had doubted that it was the cold and snow that had brought her to not liking her homeland, he had simply been trying to lighten things up a little bit. Considering she had laughed he guessed he had accomplished that and he had to admit it made him feel good. It was a good sign that she felt comfortable enough to allow herself to laugh around him. "To each their own," he responded, smiling at her. "Well, you won't be missing the cold for long. Just a matter of time before the snow starts falling here and the temperatures drop even more." He wasn't really looking forward to it, but perhaps it would help Ataxia ease into life here a little more smoothly.

Nodding her head quickly, she let another of her timid smiles seize her soft features, the lightness of her mood reflected by the shimmer in her gaze, as she allowed it to wander over the blackness of the water below, showing the pale white reflection of the moon. It painted an eerily gorgeous scene, that drew her attention for a few solid moments. She couldn't even begin to think the last time she had been so content with her life. She'd been feeling more and more restless as time had gone on, but now as she stood here near the cliffs of her new home, chatting up one of her new 'packmates' she finally felt at peace. Of course, the gentle sea breeze added to that effect greatly. She sighed a content sigh before turning back to face him.

"It will be all the more beautiful then.." she added, in a useless comment. She felt as if she'd contributed almost nothing to the direction of the conversation, and now was found clearing her throat, a lame question having come to her mind. "So Haven, perhaps you could tell me more about our home? I've met the King but briefly, though from what um.. Firefly.. I believe her name was.. had said, he's a ladies man?" rethinking what'd she just said, she quickly backtracked, "- I-- I don't mean to gossip, just simple curiosity.." she sounded somewhat unsure of herself once again, her gaze wandering away from him once more.

Whatever tension that had existed in the air before seemed to have dissipated. He followed Ataxia gaze out onto the sea and marveled at the beauty of it as she did. There was something otherworldly about the way the moon shone down on the endless water. The sun was also beautiful when it was reflected on the surface of the ocean, but it was a different beauty than the one his eyes were beholding now. To be honest, the scene before him reminded him of the woman beside him. They both had that pale, ethereal glow to them that made them intriguing. She almost seemed like she was made out of nights like this; a cool ocean breeze, the glow of the moon in the darkness.

When she spoke again he turned to her and was more than pleased to tell her about Cour des Miracles. So she had met Jac briefly and Firefly? The poor thing, their two boisterous personalities must have been a little intimidating to her. It made her decision to stay here even more amazing to him. Though at her slight apology he couldn't help but laugh. "Don't apologize! Jac is most certainly a ladies' man and he doesn't try to hide the fact either. No doubt he'll be coming after you at some point or another," Haven joked with a wink. "Well, if you've met Jac and Firefly then you've met our most...colorful members. I'm the Seneschal and the Knight, so I take care of making sure everyone's safe and handle any disputes if they come up, which they almost never do thankfully. So if you're ever having any problems with someone just let me know and I'll do what I can to help." He wanted to make sure that all the pack members knew that he was there for them. "Some of the other prominent members are Ruri Aceline, she's a singer and really close with Jac. She's a sweetheart, I think you'd like her. There's my friend Heath, who runs the stables. If you want a horse he's the one you should talk to."

By the way he had responded it was obvious that what Firefly had said was something that was considered common knowledge. She chuckled ever so lightly, amused at this to be quite honest. She looked away slightly though, feeling the warmth of ever so slight embarrassment coming over her for a moment as his joking comment. "Oh, I don't know about that.." she replied somewhat meekly, with a small laugh. She wasn't the type to attract males easily, she'd been far to guarded for anything like a relationship to be able to form. She'd had all the 'closeness' she needed for one life time with that bastard who'd actually, in essence set her free.

She nodded her head as he explained what his rank was and what it was he did, she hadn't really been wondering but she admitted it was nice to be a little more clear on things, it made her feel slightly less out of the loop. She smiled at his offer of assistance with anything she might need help with, 'dispute' wise. Nodding her head slowly she murmured a small, advanced "Thanks". Listening to him tell her about a few others she'd yet to meet, she was showing obvious and earnest interest as she nodded her head to each fact he listened about the two, Ruri and Heath. What he had said last though, slightly confused her. Horse? Should she know what that was? She almost felt too ashamed to ask, but her burning curiosity forced her past her road-blocking nerves. "Um.. a horse..? I don't think I know what you're talking about.." she was speaking as if she expected him to think that was ridiculous. Shrugging her slender shoulders slightly, a sharp fang pressed into her lower lip as she nibbled at it nervously.

of course! I'm having fun with these two :3 300+

Haven grinned toothily, glad that she was able to laugh over the dispositions of their King. Though when he made the light comment about her he could feel a bit of embarrassment radiate from her. It might have been in jest, but honestly it wouldn't surprised the hybrid in the least if Jac did start to pursue her. She was very attractive and the one-armed monarch didn't seem to care so much for personality as looks. "You'll want to stay on your toes, I wouldn't put it past him. He can be pretty stubborn too, not the type of guy to give up easily." His words were said in the same light tone, and yet there was a seriousness to them. If Jac did decide to go after her she needed to be prepared for everything that could entail. Meek as she seemed he thought that she could definitely stand up for herself if she needed to.

He knew she hadn't really asked what it was he did around here, but he had wanted to tell her and then had seemed as good a time as any. Even if it hadn't been a part of his job description he would have wanted to offer her help if she ever needed it, it was just the way that Haven functioned. "You're welcome, it'd be my pleasure." He was almost always willing to lend a helping hand. Ataxia listened in obvious interest but when it came to the topic of horses he could see confusion come across her face. He often lost track that horses weren't the norm everywhere. It had become so much a part of his daily life here that he forgot it wasn't the same for most others. "Oh yeah, sorry, I forget that people don't really know what horses are. They're big hoofed animals, kind of like elk, but they don't have antlers. We keep a lot of them here and some of us have our own. I have one, his name is Drogon. You can ride them and get around a lot faster." It was hard to explain, she'd have to see them to really know what he was talking about.

We wave this flag of hatred;
But you're the ones who made it.

She had been listening intently no matter what it was he spoke of, but her interest seemed to be even further piqued as he spoke of the horses. She was intrigued by the creatures he described, her mind painting a vast array of pictures for her as she wondered about them. Something that was ridden? It almost seemed absurd to her, but with the manner in which he addressed it she could tell this was something common to him. She couldn't help but wonder how she'd never heard of such creatures before. In truth, it made her feel somewhat lacking, not liking the feeling of being ignorant, even though he'd indirectly mentioned that she wasn't the first to be confused.

Finally, nodding her head once more, she pulled at her bottom lip with her fangs a moment, debating on what to say. "That's really awesome.." she said, pausing a moment before a small smile came across her soft features. "I'd love to see yours some time.. that is, if you wouldn't mind showing me" she added the last part quickly, not wanting him to feel obligated to her in any way.

No worries! My turn to make you wait XD Also you might want to check the coding of your table, the text is the same color as the background now D:

Being ignorant of something had never bothered him, it only meant there was the opportunity to learn something new! He had been quite the inquisitive pup and while he wasn't the fountain of questions he used to be he still loved learning new things. He could sense a bit of discomfort coming from Ataxia though he didn't want to say anything about it, it'd probably only make it worse if he drew attention to it. He could only imagine the kinds of picture that her mind must have been stirring up from his description of the equines. Without seeing one it all must sound pretty silly, but once she was able to lay eyes on one she'd understand what it was he was talking about.

He smiled wider though when she seemed to become positively interested in the subject though. While nowhere near an expert, horses were one thing that he thought he had a good deal of knowledge on. "Of course! I wouldn't mind at all! I'm usually at the stables at least once a day so whenever you wanted to pop on over there would be great. Or you could just come find me and I'll take you there, either works for me." Heck, she might even find him out patrolling the borders on Drogon, as he often did. It cut the time it took to complete that task nearly in half which gave him more time to train and do other things.
