Can this be backdated to the 17th or somewheres? :3

He knew he should have been able to shift by now. It was just a matter of getting around to learning, of getting someone to teach him. Gabriel and Faolin were the obvious choices, but as much as he liked and respected each of them and was sure that they cared about him in their own way, he never felt like he should be entitled to bother them or demand things from them. Sometimes he thought it would be a particularly interesting idea to experiment on his own, just to see if he could do it. But the idea that maybe that was a dangerous idea had also struck him and the child had never really been one to do something for the sake of it. And anyway, it wasn't like there was any real rush, right? He had all the time in the world to stand on two feet and be an adult that way.

In the meantime, opening doors in buildings was difficult for him, but thankfully, in an abandoned city, most such things were either already opened or broken down entirely. The store he was in had rotted food and cardboard boxes scattered all over the place and smelled rather horribly. But he put up with it because it was a quicker path to the meeting place he had set up with his sister. Of course he had no way of knowing whether she'd be there on any particular day, but Arkham didn't mind much either way. If she wasn't there, then that would be the excuse to explore the steely graveyard some more on his own.

Sure :3 And--they could try shifting together later? She's been struggling with it too (wurddd.)
secretly falling apart

She had spoken with Gabriel and had gotten a little more knowledge on the subject of shifting...but it hadn't helped her much. Empusa had started to believe that it wasn't possible, that she might not ever be able to do it. Apparently her parents had been able to, but maybe she just wasn't cut out for the werecoyote life. She wanted to learn so that she would be able to match Beppe better, even though he was a bit bigger than she.

Empusa was in the city looking for something special today, something better than what she'd found here the last time. She wanted to find a gift for Faolin, something to show the older female that she appreciated her. Faolin had been a beacon of light in the otherwise dark world of Inferni...and Empusa felt as if she had taken the place of Mother in her life. The red eyed youth continued walking, going through endless mazes of houses, buildings, and alleyways. She reached a suitable place for a rest and sat down, sighing. So far she hadn't been able to find anything that would make a good present, which made her sad. She'd have to look for a while more.

She had to move around a little so that she could get the bag off of her back, to give her some relief, and when it fell off of her a few of the things fell out onto the concrete. Her firecrackers had been in there, on top...but now they were on the ground. She looked at them consideringly, then dug around in her backpack a little more, looking for a light. There were matches in there somewhere. Probably near the bottom.

Sounds good! Sorry this took so long. I'm totally not inspired for Arkham. :/

Sometimes, it was hard to decide what exactly to do when there were so many options. Everything he looked at prompted questions, but he was limited to pursuing one direction at a time and only so much time before he would want to go home. So maybe it was good that he spotted someone else standing on the horizon then; it was always easier to gravitate towards where people were. They were always fleeting thoughts, but sometimes it felt like his tongue would wither away at home where no one really bothered to talk to him and he never felt like initiating anything himself. The girl he saw now also smelt of home, but this didn't prompt any immediate relaxing on his part -- there were weirdos from home too.

Hi, he greet simply, padding up to her, 'Chu doin'? Red eyes peered at her bag curiously but couldn't really see anything. The more he studied her, the more he thought she kind of looked familiar and that maybe he had seen her around the house a little, but for one reason or another, they had never spoken. Well, there he was now. Who're you? I've seen you before.

Now that she was staying with Faolin for sure, she hung around the house more. She liked sleeping with the bigger female whenever Gabriel wasn't there--with him there it was just weird. So sometimes she stayed in the house, and sometimes she didn't. Empusa got the impression that Gabriel didn't really trust or like her at all, so she tried to keep out of his way as much as she could.

She had seen Arkham before, not really a lot, but she'd also smelled him around a couple of times too. So he was familiar...but not someone she'd seen before. But that was okay. "Hi. And vot do you mean? I am standing here, talking to you. Zat is vot I'm doing" She let the tease stand in the air for a few moments before answering again. "I am looking for a light. To light ze...crackers." She produced a pack of matches, holding them up. "It will be difficult"
