ooc:Night suffers from congenital analgia, the disorder where the body can't feel pain. All of her other sensory conections are fine, only her pain receptors don't work.

Night sat down watching the clouds above her head. The pup didn't really care what the clouds were doing, but if she watched them long enough she would know the direction of the wind. When she knew that it was easier to catch small prey, like rats or squirrels. Her small tounge came out to lick her lips. She was young, but not helpless. Getting to her small paws she stretched her legs out and arched her back to releave the stress on her young muscles.

The little girl grinned, not knowing that it was the same grin her birth mother had always made when she had a sadistic idea in her mind. Night was very much Svara Thames daughter, in her manners and actions. The sable pup was destined to be bigger then her mother had ever been. Her coat shinner and her blue eyes wilder, cold to others pain. Already she leaned towards her sociopathic tendancies.

She had no mother, no father, nobody. A loner at almost the same age her mother had been, stepping on the same territory. At three months and some odd days she was already thirty pounds. Night could see the white snow on the ground, not very much but there was some. The wind blew up on her skin making her puppy fur move as she stood there. The pup stood in a patch of cold snow even now, her paws becoming colder and colder, but she couldn't feel the pain. Night would never feel mortal pain.

Her bright azure eyes traveled over the territory, the smell of other wolves exactly what she wanted to smell. A runaway, no longer wanting to be in the pack where her mother had been killed. She didn't feel anything when she thought of whisper now. The girl was completly void of an emotion, cold as the eyes on her face. Not even wondering about it the young pup started jogging down the same path her mother had taken only a year earlier.

Times of peace were rare and generally short-lived; this made them all the more precious. Alexey didn't know how long Haku and his reign of terror would last, but it would be violent and merciless. Dahlians would never forget the day when the Lilium seized absolute supremacy from the Rosea. This change of leadership would carve the path to a different, unexpected future, for adults and children alike. Scouting wasn't her primary duty, but now that her protégés were all grown up, she had a considerable amount of spare time on her hands. Border duty was an arduous task; two scouts weren`t enough to effectively cover all boundaries, especially with one going through unexpected pregnancy. And frankly, the Rosen handling border duty on his own was none too comforting.

So with few capable scouts available, Alexey did not stray too far from the southern borders. Scouting was something to do on a bright winter day. Her initiative was rewarded with a stray puppy's scent, followed soon thereafter by visual confirmation. But she did not immediately assist the youth, temporarily thrown off by the rather surprising aroma that clung to the child's coat. It was most definitely canine and yet, there was something noticeably different about it. Similar to... Lysander's, in a way. Alexey had only ever encountered one dog in her life, and it had not pleasant. Although the charcoal girl was most obviously a wolf, her odor suggested that she'd come into contact with quite a few mutts. But where? Obviously, the golden fey had yet to encounter anyone from Cour des Miracles.

She edged a little closer, hesitating every now and then, until the puppy was no further than a feet or so. Silence compelled her to speak, but not before she took the time to examine the tiny creature. Although it took more than a few seconds for Alexey to connect the dots, the cub's familiar traits made everything clearer. Stunned at first, the Dahlian woman allowed an exasperated groan to escape her maw. "Where's your mother at?" Lexey couldn't help but glance over her shoulder, half expecting Svara to magically appear out of nowhere.

Night sat down watching the snow with a hard face. Even as young as she was she seemed to always be thinking about something else. Her ears flicked on her small skull, while her huge paws staid steady. If she felt pain she would know that welts were begining to form from the cold ground, but she didn't know and she would probably have to pay for it later.

Her blue eyes burned as they gazed across the land, she could smell another wolf, but there wasn't anyone in her vision. It didn't take long for the she wolf to appear in the pups line of sight. She didn't make any movement, no fear hit her stomach, nothing came to her body cold as the eyes encased in her skull. The she wolf was pretty her light brown pelt covered a well sculpted form.

Nights' ears lay flat on her skull as she just stared at the terrain again, not even looking at Alexy. The question was present by a voice that carried melody. It made the young pups ears twitch as she took to all fours instead of sitting. "I don't have one" Whisper had told her that she wasn't her birth mother, the women hadn't told her why her real mother hadn't wanted her, only that she was dead.

Svara's daughter looked over at Alexy with her azure eyes looking at her with a cold glance that was errie for a pup so young. "I don't really need one either." Night said with a slick grin her mother used to always wear. The women could kill her easily, but death wasn't something the child feared, how could she when she didn't understand pain? Physical pain was a mystery to her.

Alexey was one of the few who had seen the purity of the darkness that inhabited the Rosen’s decayed heart. Every time he thought of her he found himself wishing he had taken her life right there and then. He’d picked up her scent with ease the times where he touched the southern borders – wondered why she all of a sudden had started taking up a different co-rank from the one she was assigned to. His own children were no longer the little runt and fatty as they once had been, but he thought that perhaps the Koios woman could have made herself useful by helping Mew out with her litter. As the male drew closer and found the woman standing with a puppy, he grew rather indifferent to her favour. He had little patience for children. It was unnecessary to be overly rude with the woman, so he dignified her with a court nod before staring at the child that stank of Cour des Miracles. His lips lifted slightly to hint of those yellowing daggers behind. He knew part of her scent, but failed to immediately draw the conclusion. He did not bother enough for that.

He stopped in front of the black child, secui form hovering above her. ”Alexey, what is this little thing from the pack of mutts doing here?” he commanded darkly, imagining the wildest plots in his head. Why would they place a child on Dahlian borders? His brilliantly blue eyes twitched slightly and like before he started imagining fires and roasting children. The other one he had kicked away accidentally. If he could harm the doggish pack in any way he would most likely take it all out. Cercelee was out of the picture and he was free to do whatever he wanted. He imagined he was the child surrounded by all the ants, carrying a magnifying glass. His terrifying gaze turned to Alexey, awaiting her explanation.

The child was very well-spoken for her age, providing adequate answers when spoken to. Something about her seemed a little off though; her body was sending mixed signals, ranging from flattened ears to sly grins. Not to mention, eye contact was nonexistent. Her crystalline blue eyes were glued to the ground, with no intention of seeing anything else but white nothingness. This was not normal puppy behaviour. Children were normally honest little creatures, never failing to demonstrate warmth and sincerity. As children, Emwe and Conor had never displayed troublesome demeanors, even though they would’ve had every reason to. The puppy’s answer further fuelled her perplexity when a response escaped her little maw; apparently, she didn’t have a mother.

Looking back on the behavior she’d displayed as a child, abandoning her very own offspring sounded like something Svara would’ve done. But over a year had gone by since the Acer had last seen the little pest; change was possible, but unlikely. Certain people were incapable of improving their lifestyle, and Svara struck her as one of those unwilling to help themselves. How many personality traits could mother and daughter share? The Dahlian knew that a replica of Svara would not be tolerated, but who was she to judge a child without sufficient proof? The Rosen’s children were the opposite of their father. If Conor and Emwe had turned out okay in spite of their messed up lineage, then perhaps there was still hope for the sable puppy.

With Haku’s dominion came quite a few disadvantages. He hadn’t officially thrown her down Dahlia’s hierarchy pyramid, but he’d taken away every bit of authority she had once possessed. Accepting newcomers, puppy or not, was a procedure that now required his approval. The Rosen never lurked too far away; she knew it by the intensity of his scent, and the snow crunching under his menacing weight. She couldn’t help but stiffen momentarily as he brushed past her and settled between the child and her. Alexey instinctively moved over, adopting a different angle where the male’s behind would not obstruct her view. “Haven’t gotten around to asking her that yet. She apparently doesn’t have a mother. But don’t you think she looks a little familiar?”

Night continued to stare at the terrain with no emotion. White snow was plastered all over the terrain in spots the ground could be seen, but over head the clouds were as gloomy as poe's tales. A morbid sky licked over the land with gray. The sable girl only looked at Alexy when she spoke that last part, her blue eyes barren of any warmth. Truely cold inside, the opposite of her firey mother.

Keeping her eyes on the women that grin staied on her face. It was a delicate curve of her young maw, mouth slightly parted to show her small pup fangs. Night just stared at the women as if she wasn't even in her line of vision, a gaze void of any traction. Barren of soul it seemed. The little she pup dropped the sadistic little grin and kept that blank expression she usually had as a chocolate male moved around the she wolf.

Seeing him Nights ears flattened against her skull maintaining the blank face she had had before. Fear wasn't part of her life, she'd never learn it or know it physically of course. One day it would sink in mentally. It wasn't the way he looked, or the athuority he carried it was the deep dark demanding voice he projected that made warmth spread into her chest. Now it was a drug, when ever she found that warmth in her chest she was in reality, could see things around her bright and clear feel her body come alive with an intensity that had to be dangerous. A small gurgle moved from her throat as her azure eyes locked at the male waiting for him to speak again.

With Alexey’s words furthering poisoning the Rosen’s mood, he turned to stare at the small child with dark eyes. The coloration was not familiar, but beneath the stench of wet dog pack there was something that demanded for his jaws to grind together. Was that a hint of Svara Thames? If Alexey had not been present it would have been extremely likely that he had gone right for the child’s throat. Not in uncontrollable anger or any such thing. If there was any possible way to ruin Svara further then he was eager to do just that, as there was little he took more pleasure in than to ruin lives. Brilliantly blue eyes adored the little female’s full and silky tail for a moment. He did not have a black one yet in his collection. His gaze stayed on her and he was half waiting for the little child to go into one of the dreadful Svara rants instantly. Once he had seemed to tolerate it, but time had passed and it had been revealed that no one seemed worthy of his adoration.

A quick look filled with question was given to the puppysitter as the small girl gurgled unintelligently at him. Why did all the weird fucks wash up on Dahlian borders? ”Go away,” the male sneered down at the blue eyed child. Why there was no parent or guardian with her was beyond him. Perhaps the pack she came from was as useless as he always had thought them to be. ”You’re far away from home and I don’t think your mother would be pleased if she knew you were here.” Or would she? Svara had always been a twisted soul with strange reasoning. For all he knew she could easily have placed the puppy here to try to play some kind of fucking trick. Alexey had said she had none though, but everyone had a mother in one way or another. Absent, dead, indifferent, yeah, but none was a false answer. The child’s pelt held only the resemblance of Svara, not the hint of the actual woman. Could it be true that Svara Thames was no more?

Just when Alexey was beginning to grow accustomed to the child’s odd personality, something struck a chord within her. Their little visitor began showing signs of mental stimulation, apparently triggered by the Rosen’s mere presence. She could have understood if the pup had been incapable of feeling anything, period. But that wasn’t the case. No matter how unintentional it had been, Haku had generated a reaction from her. Granted, the response she’d given him only further demonstrated the oddity that she was. Alexey could’ve kept her amusement under check, had it not been for the Alpha’s response. Oh, they were definitely dealing with Svara’s kid. A shrug was given in reply to her leader’s silent inquiry, paired with an entertained smirk. Like mother, like daughter. What drew the oddballs to him, she would never understand. But it was extremely diverting to watch.

Habitually, the Acer would’ve already stepped in, in hopes of shielding the child from the cocoa male’s insanity. This little one was just as cuckoo as he was though. And so, Lexey awaited the outcome of their one-sided conversation. It seemed Haku had caught on to her subtle warning, judging by his determination to make the furball leave. Had it been another puppy, the Rosen would have shown no particular interest in her. The Thames family had already fooled them once though; this girl’s dam had brought nothing but turmoil to their pack, and they most definitely didn’t need any more of that right now. Although Haku did not seem to care, the pup’s young age had to be taken into consideration. If Svara had indeed abandoned her own offspring, then they couldn’t send her away. Alexey didn’t want to be responsible for the death of a child. Still, she did not speak, curious as to what the girl’s answer would be. She would intervene at a later time.

Whisper had told her before that when you were't sure about something, that if you waited it would become clear. It had become clear that Whisper was nothing like her even though she had been related to her, and that her birth mother must have been more like her as she looked through the den she had lived in. Right now as she stood before the chocolate male and the female she could see they wanted to know things about her. Things she didn't really give to shits about.

His words were directed at her this time, but the warmth no longer came her body staied as dull as usual, his voice no longer triggering the emotion, which ever one it was the pup was not sure. "She's dead." Night said simply her gaze had moved away from him again back to the terrain staring as if it wasn't there and her eyes could see something else. Was there a reason they kept reffering back to her useless mother?

"Didn't know her either." The sable pup said dully, like a droid. It wasn't till she looked over her shoulder and that sadistic grin pulled her lips again and her azure eyes finally held a look of delicious joy, did she not look like a droid. "not so fucking bad." The pup said in an even tone, the cursing coming to her so naturally.

The expression soon dropped and the warmth those words and the image that they had brought to her head, vanished. Her eyes took on that bored expression the frown finishing off the look. Night didn't speak very much, because she was so young many words escaped her basic knowledge. She'd rather not say anything then seem stupid. So she spoke well the words she knew, but kept her mouth shut when she didn't know them. Stupidity was a crime to the young sable pup.

Contentment brushed through him as it was revealed that Svara Thames was dead. Rumours had suggested this in advance, and he decided to finally believe. Was it truly suicide that had taken her pathetic soul away from the earth? Haku could no longer be surprised, for he knew that Svara had never truly been worthy. Yet he had not expected her weakness to be dominant enough in order to flee from life in such a way. Life was granted for a reason. Too many failed to see the reason with it, but he knew that he would die with his own blood sweeping through his fur like the touch of a lover’s, with the dire difference that it would whisper of death. He did not fear the moment. He would die as he lived.

The child did not offer him any useful information beyond that. It seemed she belonged to Cour de Miracles, and beyond that he could not be bothered. She was useless, for her mother was dead. That made her the average, worthless child to him, and he turned away as the girl flashed a sadistic grin that reminded him quite of her loser of a mother. Yes, perhaps he actually was disappointed in how deep Svara Thames had let herself sink. However, things like these should not be dwelled on when there was nothing to be done. He only regretted that he had not properly killed her the night he had ruined her body.

Cold blue was glued to the Dahlian woman. He expected obedience. ”Deal with her as you please, but if she’s anything like her rude, swearing mother then I better not see her again, or something very bad will happen.” The male spoke the truth: it was an obvious threat. He would sever the black child’s flesh from her bones. Alexey would be the one to decide what to do with the puppy, but Haku would no longer refrain from punishing true insolence. Done with them both, the male’s feet started to wander again, continuing along the borders and away from the child and the woman.

What a revelation this was; Svara Thames, one of society’s parasites, was no longer of this world. At least, that’s what her spawn seemed to be implying. Puppies often said lots of things, though. Perhaps she meant that Svara was just as good as dead to her. Figurative or not, such news mattered little to the Acer, really. Rejoicing over someone’s death was not in her nature. Unfortunately, the same couldn’t be said about the chocolate-coated male. A combination of pity and compassion briefly overtook her, and she allowed her features to soften ever so slightly. That is, until profanity infiltrated her receivers.

Her face instantly morphed into a mask of disapproval; upper lip curling into a snarl of sorts. Obviously, the pup’s former guardians hadn’t done much good in terms of education. Such a foul mouth on a child was disconcerting, and it made her hair stand on end. No Dahlian would tolerate said behavior near their beloved Papavers. Mew most certainly would not appreciate her brood coming into contact with the corrupted child. Svara’s daughter would be a bad influence on the rest of the children, unless disciplined right away. The Rosen’s gaze sought hers, giving her the go-ahead to do as she pleased before retiring.

He hadn’t given her much of a choice. In that same moment, Alexey had been pegged as the child’s mentor. Although it pleased her none, she had every intention of providing the furball with proper care. But her decision wasn’t irreversible. Should things go awry, the Acer would send the child on her way. She would not compromise what little harmony they had for a twisted little gremlin. “First off,” she finally spoke, honey-hued eyes riveting to the little girl. “Swearing is forbidden from now on, so keep your mouth under control.” Failure to oblige would result in removal from Dahlia de Mai if necessary. She would take no chances, knowing what Svara had been capable of.

“You’ll be staying with me until you’re old enough to make it on your own. That is, if you have any intention of staying with us. The choice is yours,” That being said, Alexey took a few steps away from the child, in the same direction Dahlia’s leader had taken. She then halted and turned, looking over her shoulder to see if the crude little girl would become one of Dahlia de Mai’s newest Papavers.

The interest she had in the male soon vanished. His voice didn't bring the warmth it had in those first few words. Why they had to begin with evaded her, and she really didn't care. Her blue orbs continued to stare at the white terrain looking as if she couldn't really see it. The area was quit clear to her young eyes her vision perfect, but her mind distorted the area with the image of blood on the snow a dead body laying on the ground with its' tounge lolling out of its head.

The image was so casual for her she didn't even second guess it. The area even recked of decay and rotting flesh. Night watched as magets ate at the corpse she saw in her vision. It was amazing what the mind could place in an area even when it wasn't there. It was the female who broke her out of her trance, the image blinked out as if it had never been there, the snow white again and the land clean of the decaying body.

Looking at the she wolf Night noticed the male had already left. He must have left when she had been looking else where. Taking in the womens demand the pup nodded curtly to her with out even responding. So then she would just expell the words from her vocabulary, it wasn't hard to do for the sable pup. Averting her eyes again she watched the sky as the signs of sunset started to show when the sky became a molten color.

She would stay here, if anything it was a home away from the dogs that made her feel nothing. Words were not required to accept the invatation. The sable girl just took to all fours and treaded behind the women and past her even not looking up once, only forward. She had no intention of letting this women take care of her, she could take care of herself quit well. Survival hadn't been so hard on her thus far she figured she could manage it on her own from here on out.

Night didn't know that her mother would be rolling in her grave at her child joining this pack. Not that the sable girl had much sympathy even if she did know, her mother had abandon her leaving her to take to life on her own. The bitch could scream in her grave and the Thames girl would be deaf to it. She would find a life here.
