After parting ways with Colibri earlier in the afternoon he'd been left with some damn interesting things to think about. He certainly hadn't expected to hear news of Haku this far from Dahlia or Inferni, and though the tales were enough to turn his stomach, he appreciated being up to date and informed. It wasn't as if he could do anything with what he learned, or even that he should necessarily care, but this was gossip he would not soon forget and he genuinely felt bad for the girl. His original intention of visiting the lake-side pack (vague as it had been) was yet to be fulfilled, however, and he found himself loitering about just the same.

He was just about to give up and go home when a sound caught his attention. A young pup was crashing through the barren forest towards him when a call sounded, the child stopped, and then retreated. His ears pressed forward as he watched the young boy go--his eyes had reminded him strongly of Ghita's. Could this be one of the children? He racked his brain quickly for a name and came up with two, one of which was distinctly more masculine than the other. "Aro?" he tried, voice gentle and posture already low. Whoever had called for the child had been an adult, and Anselm knew all too well he didn't look like the sort of stranger folks wanted their kids around.

Extreme times called for extreme measures. His tail tucked beneath him and he lowered himself to the cold earth, chest pressed against the ground though he was hardly reclining on his side. At the first sign of trouble, the coiled spring would release and he'd fly off into the forest. He supposed if things got screwy enough he could call for Ghita or Savina, but he sincerely hoped it wouldn't come to that.

Aro was just about to head towards his parents call, his face now a frusterated pout, when his ears caught a voice behind him. When the coyote called his name, his ears immediatly perked up again as his tail wagged a mile a minute in joy of meeting a new person. "Hi!" Aro said with a joyous wag of the tail as his stubby little limbs stumbled forward into a run towards the coyote. Obviously the child had little to no fear of the coyote, despite the way he looked, his outgoing and curious nature causing him to completely distill the threat. His big blue sparkling eyes as he got into arm's length away from the stranger, now looking up at the figure with his big, sparkling blue eyes locked on the stranger.

"Who're you?" Aro asked, cutting right to the chase, his nose suddenly sniffing furiously as he began to circle Andelm, smelling around as his feet and body. Anselm's scent was unfamiliar to Aro, and he ended up sneezing from it, that sneeze caused his whole body to lose balance and end up rolling backwards into a sitting position, snow now covering his fur. Surprised, but genuinely unfazed, he shook off the snow and went back to investigating the stranger. He shot a few more obvious observations and questions at the older wolf "Huh....you don't smell like pappa, where you fwom?" He asked as he began to jump back and forth slightly, trying to get more looks at Anselm before judging if he was friendly or not, not exactly like he knew or cared, he was just so curious and energetic that he just wanted to know more about the stranger now. "How'dya know my name? You a friend of pappa's? Or are you one of his enemies? Becuase if you are...." Aro did his best to look intimidating, bending his stubby legs into a crouch with what could only be a growl but sounded much more like the buzzing of a cell phone.

The sun was leaning towards the west as evening began to approach. Fenris was pulling the sun away from the earth and soon enough the moon would be high and beautiful in the sky. Out of all the things he missed about his pup hood it was his mothers stories about the sun god and moon goddess. He had often imagined how wonderful it would be if they could be together, the way he had found his goddess.
The pups had grown anxious being inside with Ghita all day while he tried to bring home some fresh kill so he had promised them he would take them out, and they were not about to let him go back on his promise. At first they had stayed rather close to his large halfling figure. The two pups rather enjoyed him in this form, it made it easier for them to play fight and climb on him. However, after an hour or so they had started running around, behind and in front of him yipping and hiding from him as they went.
With the evening quickly coming upon them however he felt it was about time to call the two in. His muzzle lifted into the air as he called to the two and continued to follow their scent.

There was a distance break from Sophia and Aro's trails as he moved forward, Sophia was rather closer then Aro. His ears perked up at the sound of Aro's high voice which was quickly followed by his little growl. Jazper's heart began to race and he started froward with a surprising burst of speed for such a abnormally large wolf. Inferni's scent began to burn his nose as flashes of Hybrid passed threw his mind. With a leap he landed over top of Aro's small form. His back was arched and his chest low to the ground in only the way a wolf would stand in protection of a little one. His tail was raised high as his golden eyes instantly noted this coyote before him was not Hybrid at all. In fact, the only coyote like attributes was the strangers coloring. The warrior raised his body away from the ground in a display of dominance, showing off his rather impressive size. The mixed Inferni member seemed to have been showing signs of submission even before he appeared, perhaps he was friendly? “This is Crimson Dreams territory.” He stated rather forwardly, “Please state you name and business.” He quickly added, “And while you're at it you may want to explain why you are talking to my son.” The Knight's golden orbs started down at the stranger his displeasure obvious in his eyes. One wrong move and he wouldn't have to worry about the trip home.

Lalalalala! the young woman danced her way behind her brother. Aro was just too much sometimes. He would move faster than the dancing girl, and she'd often only be greeted with his presence when he'd run back the length that was between himself, and her, and then the distance between them and their father. They ran circles around big daddy sometimes. There was a few times that they did this action, but somehow it just ended up with Jazper trailing far behind, Sophia in the middle, and Aro at the lead. The young girl felt sorta like she wasn't leading, and that her brother was. She puckered her lip lightly, but then heard her father raise his voice to call the two pups back to him. Sophia let her little audits swivel, as well as her head, but then looked to the direction Aro was in. Arooooo! Daddeh wants us to gooess! she yelled in the direction of the ebon male before he looked back towards where their father was. She suddenly saw her father's rushing form, and she was quick to make herself small against the ground. With the way papa looked at the moment, it scared her slightly, even though she knew her father would not hurt her, ever.

Jazper rushed passed Sophia, whom was confused. The girl cocked her head before she stumbled back onto her feet. H-HEY! Waits up papa! the feo called out to her father before she trailed behind him, obviously being slower than her father. She ran as hard as her little puppy legs could take her though and once she finally made it to where Aro and Jazper was, there was another male. He was pretty too. Golden with white and black. Her little tail wagged as she skidded to a halt, and she peeked around her father and at the other male. Papa! Who's 'dat? the feo's voice was hushed, as if she wasn't trying to be rude, but just curious. She hugged her father's leg, trying to get his attention so he could tell her who this other weird smelling male was.

@&#&$Aha! He'd been right. The young boy came bouncing back and Anselm kept his chest pressed to the ground and his black-tipped ears pointed back toward his rump. He laid very still, allowing the child to sniff at him and smiling lightly when the force of the boy's own sneeze caused him to tumble over. His tail had been curled against his body and its tip twitched twice at his side--Anselm certainly wasn't making father of the year any time soon, but Ghita's son's antics were fairly comical and he found them endearing. The youngster began to shoot out questions in rapid-fire succession, but before the bronze hybrid could answer any of them the sounds of a sizeable beast crashing through the forest sounded like thunder in his ears. An enormous, jet black male landed over top the pup, and Anselm found himself scooting backwards on instinct, trying to place some distance between them. His belly remained pressed to the ground all the while and he kept his entire head turned off to the side, displaying the tender flesh of his neck--a universal sign in their species that would ironically save his skin more than endanger it.
@&#&$The big wolf started flinging as many questions his way just as quickly as the youth--well, at least Anselm knew where Aro got it from, harhar. "Yeesh," he breathed softly, trying to dispel the tension. He stole a quick, curious glance at the man's face before his gaze settled on the little girl hiding behind her father. "Name's Anselm; friend of the family. Savina told me Ghita had puppies and I was coming to visit," he replied, promptly though his tone was remarkably calm and steady. If this wolf wished to cross-check his facts, Anselm would almost welcome it. Though he was submitting, he had the cool, confident air of a wolf who knew he was doing nothing wrong. Remembering Aro's questions, he cast the boy a quick smile and shook his head. "Nope; met your mama, though--you've got her eyes. I live up north," he added, not bothering to give specifics. By the adult's reaction it was unnecessary... in the case of the boy, he didn't want to instil any burning curiosity as he had with Princess.
@&#&$"And you must be Sophia," he called gently to the girl, the tip of his tail daring to wag again. "Afraid I didn't catch yours, though?" he wondered meekly, peering at the giant's chest and wondering if he'd have permission to get up any time soon. Anselm was content to jump through these hoops for awhile, but on the whole the atmosphere still wasn't very friendly or comfortable. He could hardly blame the man for being suspicious, of course--he just hoped he'd proven his innocence several times over by now. Anselm rather liked the Marinos, and although Jazper was certainly very intimidating, the tattooed hybrid figured he couldn't be all bad if he'd managed to land a catch like Ghita. He considered asking how the new mother was doing, but for now one question was enough. He didn't want to seem impatient on his leisurely visit, after all.

ooc: sorry for the wait, my computer has a virus on it and I have to do this from a friend's computer Sad

Aro felt the large underbelly of his father slide over him as he came into the small confrontation, much to Aro's dismay. Stubbornly, the pup squeaked out arrogantly "Ah dernit dad! I coulda handled this myself!" as he attempted to pull himself out from underneath his father. Aro didn't' know if the person he was talking to was really dangerous or not, but since the wolf hadn't attempted to strike him or hurt him, so by now Aro had thought that the wolf either feared him (the less logical yet for Aro more hopeful option) or wasn't a threat at all. He didn't know much about submissive or dominant behavior of wolves just yet, but he could only assume by Anselm's mannerisms and tones in his speech, he wasn't going to hurt him, and even if not, Aro figured he had enough skill to take him on, clearly Aro did not have a reasonable thought process yet, as he was clearly outmatched but still raring to go.

However, it was clear now that Anselm was very much a friendly wolf, and in fact knew his mother, of course that should have been a giveaway by the fact that Anselm knew his name, but he was still too young to put two and two together and connect the dots, but that is to be expected of a pup this age. He squeezed his way out of the barrier his father put him under and with either a baffling sense of courage or a blatant disregard for his own well being, he approached the orange wolf again, continuing to sniff around at his legs, his little tail still swaying from side to side mindlessly. His little eyes then darted up to the larger wolf and he cracked an excited smile and asked "You know momma? Neat! Does that mean you are my uncle?" Again, Aro was not the brightest wolf yet, but at least his reckless charisma was able to keep him out of most trouble.

As Sophia came up to them he calmed internally, just slightly. It was good to know she was safe and alert. A sense of pride grew within him as she automatically stayed behind him. It was good to question who people where, better to remain couscous while asking. Unless, of course, you were the size of a small bear. The Knight's attention did not waver from the stranger, as an explanation was to follow rather quickly. Ignoring Aro's complaints, Jazper was somewhat pleased that he had managed to scare, or shock, the Inferni member backwards, away form his pups and himself. His temper quickly was controlled, much thanks to the strangers mannerisms and his ears leaned forward in anticipation as words began to form, and then sentences. The softness in his voice was reassuring to the protective father, and the story was even more calming to his temperament, leaving him rather pleased with this Anselm character. At the mention of Savina a small smile was placed upon his lips. He lifted up from his aggressive stance almost instantly, as the golden hued male mentioned Aro's eyes. He did have Ghita's eyes, this fact only being further confirmation that he was a friend of the Marino family.

Jazper simply observed the pups as Anselm spoke very softly, and carefully, to them. As he looked up as inquired his own name a larger smile grew, his shoulders relaxed and his tail lowed. Before he could answer though, Aro threw himself forward and started babbling away again. The warrior simply rolled his eyes as he reached his muzzle down and nudged Sophia forward. “It's okay now Sophie.” Raising his head once again he let his golden eyes, now soft and accompanied by a warm smile, rest on the Inferni male. “I'm Jazper Rhiannon-Knight. Always happy to meet a friend of the family.” He greeted with a small bow, a small Scottish accent popping through. Taking a few steps forward he closed the gap. “Sorry about that mate. The pups are all I've got, besides Ghita of course. They're my only blood.” With a moment of consideration he concluded, “Besides a cousin who's preference will never result in children.” Sinatra was obviously and openly gay. Good for him, however it left Jazper as the soul male of Knight blood who would have offspring. Aro and Sophia were his only hope of continuing the name.

Sophia was cautious. She knew not of the other male, and daddy here seemed to be rather distressed by the other male at first, so she was sure to keep herself silent, and out of the way at first. She let her father handle the situation at the moment. The golden hybrid spoke of their mother, and knowing that she had them, and that he had come to visit. Golden orbs were focused on the other male as he spoke, the same golden ones that matched her father's. She held a small smile on her gorgeous features she the other male talked though, her natural beauty showing even as a child. Anselm was his name, and he was from up north. Where at exactly? Sophia was curious to know. Anselm then seemed to already know her name, and her mouth dropped in a 'o' shape as she gasped lightly. "Youz already knows mee too! Sophia Knight!" the girl spoke, giggling softly as she bashfully put her face into her father's leg, all while giggling. Her father was the one to release her from her cautiousness, and she quickly bounded over to the handsome brute and put on her most pretty face for the male.

"Are you our uncle, mister Anselm?" the feo asked, mimicking her brother's question, she too was curious of the relationship to the family, but then again, he had introduced himself as "friend of the family", so maybe he was just a friend that was outside the family. She smiled at the other male before she playfully put her paw on his muzzle. "Where up north do you live, mister Anselm?" she asked, cocking her head lightly to the male.

Word Count: 570 Rushed, sorry. ;; -Trying to cram this in before class.- XD

The last time he'd been around children this young was when he'd met Cwmfen's litter. Her pups had been as silent and intense as their mother, and unsurprisingly these two had the bold, outgoing nature of their mother. Even their father seemed to be loosening up though he did not move an inch until Jazper gave his daughter the go ahead--presumably he was clear by extension. Even though he sat up, he kept his body in a comfortable slouch with his black-tipped ears fallen back to half-mast. Well met, then; 'n no harm no foul, don't exactly blame you for being cautious, he offered, supposing technically he'd have done well to call for either of the Marino women upon his arrival rather than putter around the border waiting to be found. Then again, if he'd done that he might not have met Colibri--ultimately the conversation he had with her would become very valuable. Come to think of it, this was the guy she'd confused him for and that was slightly outrageous. They literally looked nothing alike... but he didn't dwell on it any further.

The children were still hounding him with questions (in the most charming way possible) and his tail flopped to one side as he smiled lightly and shook his head. Naw; nobody's uncle here, he said. At least that I know of, he added with a contemplative frown. Guess it's possible my folks had another litter while I was away, supposin' they're even still around, he added while they were all on the subject of family. He more or less considered Halo his niece--he had no idea what their actual relationship was but the role of "uncle" seemed to fit the bill for their age gap. She was definitely family of some sort, even if it was so very distant. Most likely, it would have to be good enough. Anselm doubted he'd ever see any of his immediate family from his birth pack ever again. Life had carried him decidedly away from that place and it was down a one way street.

As for exactly where he lived he was more hesitant. Guess it's a good hike far from here, basically at the base of that big mountain, he said, referencing Halcyon with a subtle--yet deliberate--yawn. He offered a noncommital shrug and decided to veer away from the subject as much as possible. Almost anything else he said risked instilling a sense of curiosity in the children; what was he to say, that they had boogymen, that they had monsters? It really wasn't a good neck of the woods but Anselm worked off the assumption that promises of anything epic--be it paradise or hell--would entice the fancy of children. It was best to leave things neutral and uninteresting, he'd decided, especially after learning from Gabriel that a different CD youth (well, at the time) had ventured off in search of Inferni despite his explicit warnings to stay away. Perhaps kids didn't grasp the severity of the situation--Savina had never questioned him when he told her they ought to meet in Halifax exclusively.

So how 'bout you two, eh? he asked them. Keeping your parents busy? Yes--what was rearing children from this age like? All of his he hadn't met until they were adults. How is the new mother? he added, gaze flitting to the base of Jazper's chin.

ooc: Apologies for this being so late, I don't have a computer at the moment T.T

"You aren't? Ah well...daddy hasn't really told me who's family yet, so I just kinda figured....." The boy trailed off as he finished his speech, partially not knowing what else to say and partially distracted by a snowflake that had fallen on his nose. His eyes crossed as his little tongue lashed out at it, attempting to remove the moisture and keep it from getting into his nostrils. Snowflake aside, Aro was happy to meet a friend of his mother, to be honest he didn't even know his mother had friends, though that was just because he hadn't seen her having a discussion with many people besides the family. His nose then flared up again as he sniffed around Anselm, still trying to get in the scent of the older male. It was a smell he had never smelled before, this wolf was the first foreign wolf he had ever seen, it was quite a startling experience for the little tyke.

In between sniffs, he had caught the question that Anselm had shot his way, his immediate response was a mischievous little grin. "I keep them very busy sir! They are good parents though!" He said with a nod and a playful wag of his tiny tail. "Every time I try to go to explore alone, I always find daddy watching me somewhere!" He shrugged, trying to talk big and impress the foreign wolf. "But to be fair, I can usually handle myself. I'm pretty tough for my age."

And for the most part, Aro had, though the wolves Aro had met were local wolves, people who wouldn't lay a finger on him. By some sheer amount of luck or divine mercy by the gods, Aro had not gotten himself into deep trouble by either hostile wolf or wild animal. If he had he would probably been dead right about now if it wasn't for his father's surveillance. But in Aro's mind, it was all him.

The father simply sat his hind legs down fairly confident that Anselm was friend. Still, he found it odd that Ghita had never mentioned this guy before now. He even knew Savina! The picture of his two leading ladies in life sparking a small amount of jealousy in his mind. The Inferni member was more than submissive enough for Jazper's taste though. If he had no connection to the pack, and had only poor intentions for talking to his boy though the man would have found himself ripped into tiny pieces of kibble. Perhaps some would find the Knight's protective nature a little too much, perhaps even insane, but to the coal wolf his future was everything. He had grown up as a painting of perfection for the role of restoring his blood line.

Looking at his little Aro and Sophia he smiled kindly. They were his treasures, things to thank the gods for every day and protect and love with his entire heart. As they asked their new acquaintance questions he just sat quietly, his presence really only for the sake of the pups. However, he was happy to meet someone from Inferni who was not Hybrid. At the thought of the name he shivered slightly his thoughts left unfinished as Anselm spoke to the pups. He would have been pleasantly surprised if Ghita had a brother he never knew about. There was just Ehno, Savina and Ghita. Which made him uncle to Savina's pups and Ehno's children over in the valley. A small ball of guilt pulled at his heart as he thought of Naniko. She had helped raise him, given him a place to stay, treated him with nothing but a kind heart. Yet, he still hadn't visited her in Phoenix Valley.

His attention was grabbed when the topic turned to where the male lived. Knowing his pups they would want to go visit the kind soul and end up getting themselves killed. Shuffling silently he found himself wanting to talk, to stop Anselm from giving the two little ones more than the sense of adventure they already had. Even at the mention of the mountain Jazper's golden eyes wandered to his pups, “Maybe if you are good mum will take you to visit Anselm.” The idea was more to satisfy any curiosity, to push it gently in the right direction. Aro's little speech made his heart light right up. Aro reminded Jazper a lot of himself at that age. So sure he was invincible, positive he could handle anything the world threw at him, of course he had been wrong and that was why he kept tabs on the two adventure seekers. Smiling down at his boy he added, “Just be sure to use that toughness to help others.” It was always a lesson he tried to throw into daily conversations, help others. It was the Knight's way of life after all. At the question directed at himself he looked to the Inferni male and answered softly, “Ghita is in great health and spirits. For the last couple of months she has hardly had to lift a paw if she didn't want to.” chuckling lightly to himself he recalled a few times she had quite literally told him to stop helping her.

OOC: sorry for lateness.

Naw; nobody's uncle here, he said. At least that I know of, Guess it's possible my folks had another litter while I was away, supposin' they're even still around the golden brute had spoken to the children. Sophia giggled lightly at the man's words. "You totzsky should be Uncle Anselm anyways!" the little girl spoke to the bigger male. She was the smallest one in the group at the moment, though he voice was more than big enough to make sure that it was know that she was there and talking. Guess it's a good hike far from here, basically at the base of that big mountain, the male went on to speak about where he had lived since Sophia had persisted to ask. The big mountain eh? Golden eyes glowed with a curiosity as he told them that it was a good hike. Sophia could go for a good hike. She knew it would be against the wishes of her father and mother, but you know...Rules were meant to be broken sometimes. Maybe if you are good mum will take you to visit Anselm. her father went on so speak, and golden eyes met the ones that she had stolen the hue from. "I'llz be extra good for mommy." Sophia spoke, smiling softly to her father before looking at Aro and his big mouth that was talking, talking, talking.

"Oh puh-lease Aro. You can barely hurt a bug." teased Sophia, a grin spread across her face as she had spoken the words that had teased her brother's "toughness". Jazper had told Aro to use the toughness to help people. Sophia had heard this come from her father since the moment they could hear. He stressed that they be nice to people instead of mean. Sophia had no objections to being nice. So how 'bout you two, eh? Keeping your parents busy? asked Anselm. Sophia giggled again. "We run circles around them all the time." she spoke, her tail wagging before she bounced off to run around Jazper really quick, and then moved back towards Anselm and did the same. "You see? Circles." the young girl spoke to the golden brute before she took her seat back in front of him and panted a little bit because of the running.
