Although she rarely saw his angry frame, Halo knew by the usual strength of Hybrid’s scent that he walked along the borders ever so often. Perhaps even daily or more – what mattered was often. The girl had stalked the borders until she found a decent area stripped of trees or other medium to large objects. True guilt for what she had done had yet to hit her. Perhaps she was still in shock because of what she had done. Perhaps it was the fact that she had not dared to deal with this – would not until this blooming war had gone into full bloom and was about to wither. She would need her inner and outer strength for the time to come; needed to be strong for the clan and its members. Dahlia was going to be fucking ripped apart and the devil was to be boiled alive in his own blood. Halo’s rage had not resided much as she had failed to take him out the evening where she had sneaked into Dahlia de Mai in search of pride and glory. Instead she had killed her own half sister that carried the same pelt as her ivory mother. It was sad, very sad.

The woman’s optime clothes had been carefully folded and put on a rock where she had brushed off the remaining snow. Her sword was resting peacefully in its sheath next to the soft cloth and her necklace had been taken off and tossed aside along with her bracelet. The girl was sitting in her plain hybrid form. She had not used it much lately after she had started her intense practise with blades. Ears perked up towards the sky above, clouds scattered and dark as far as eye could see. Oh, she would be patient. It was strange how there existed no form of relationship between the clan’s Hydras. Halo intended to change this because she needed his services. He could teach her the ways of fighting used by the majority of the canines in these lands. Although Halo heavily preferred armed optime combat, she wanted to learn everything that there was to fighting, this including her other forms. With her tail elegantly wrapped around her cream coated paws, she simply waited; hoping for her co-warrior to eventually appear whenever he chose to walk his usual route.

    WC: 370.

i heard they say the boy's missing

Hybrid quietly slunk through the clan lands, taking his time as he patrolled the borders. Gabriel's words were still ringing in his head, and since the meeting, Hybrid had spent as much time as possible pacing back and forth across the borders. He zigzagged around the borders, sometimes venturing farther out than he needed to, in search of a potential trespasser. So far, he had not found anyone, but he had no doubts he would stumble across a Dahlia wolf sometime soon. With the eminence of the war looming over the clan's collective heads, he knew it would not be long. The last time Dahlia had attacked, it had been abrupt and unexpected. Hybrid expected the same, if not worse.

He made his way south along the borders of Inferni and Arachnea's Revenge. The mixed forest, home to an unimaginable number of spiders, was the only thing that separated Inferni from Dahlia. Hybrid sometimes wondered if what they truly needed was a mountain range between them to keep them away. Hybrid picked up the pace, trotting quickly as he rounded a bend carved out by a previous landslide or natural disaster. Much of the ground was ripped away, and was now lightly dusted with a thin layer of snow. As he made his way up the slide of the slope, he noticed the form of a coyote in the distance. As he approached, he realized it was not in fact just a coyote, but the hybrid form of Halo Lykoi.

He made his way slowly to the female, who seemed to be waiting for someone, or something. Hybrid frowned, but decided to see what she was doing anyways. He wanted to ask her, what do you want? but knew it would be nonsensical coming from the one who was approaching, not being approached. He came to a stop when he was a metre away from her and cocked his head to one side as he sized her up. Her eyes, like his, were a deep red. However, her eyes also had a certain sense of hesitant determination, which startled Hybrid. He looked to be deep in thought, and for a moment, Hybrid almost wondered what she could be thinking about.

Apologies for length, SSWM 867

She knew little of what she should be expecting now when she was in a clan bent on war. She had been assigned to be her grandmother’s warrior and it mattered little to her what else happened in the battle as long as Kaena Lykoi remained safe and untouched. She had already taken a life from Dahlia and if that was the only thing she was to achieve then she would be content with that. Mew Sadira’s voice and their mother’s lullaby would forever haunt the young Lykoi though – she was certain of this. The woman could not really put the finger on the exact reason why she had turned around and put the gun to the ivory woman’s face. Was it hate that had finally made her pull the trigger? In solitude and with an unmoving body memories and thoughts returned and made her hurt. She knew now who she was and she was not certain if she wanted to know it had known a way to figure out what her soul really was made out of. As for the war she just felt empty. A wolf pack was to die for the sins of its leader; her half brother even. They were foolish and she wondered how anyone could have put such a rumoured monster in the throne without being just as twisted their blue eyed leader. Yes, this was what she knew about her violent half brother; he had the blues of eyes. Mew’s had held a beautiful green hue and they would never open again thanks to Halo. There was no regret, but she did not feel happy about her first wolf kill. It was not how it was supposed to happen and it had been a person that Halo possibly could have loved and adored in a different life. She would never know this because Vitium was a bastard.

Her thoughts developed and turned uglier, but the female sat there, anchored with determination. All that had happened had happened and there was nothing she could do about it. Samael still deserved death, but it would come quickly enough in the form of a striking blade by her hands. She smirked silently and imagined the things she wanted to do with the disgusting creature. It would happen soon, she knew; for she would not want to risk anyone else rip his life away in the war when she could have it instead. In the distance movement could be detected, and had the female not been so bothered by murderous thoughts she would have discovered Hybrid’s hulking form sooner. The man that fought like a coyote – or so sounded Gabriel de le Poer’s words. Light and awareness returned in the young woman’s glittering ruby eyes and she could feel her heart pace pick up a bit in quiet anticipation. She knew not what to expect, for he was not even an acquaintance of hers. During the time they had been members of the same clan they had never exchanged a word to each other. The female would have sought the man earlier if her heart had known courage better back then. Today no one could top Samael and his cruelty and what was more important was that it had been made clear that Hybrid Holocaust was Gabriel’s man and had been so for a long time. If her doggish looking uncle could trust the co-hydra then so could the second warrior of the clan.

He seemed to have noticed her too and did not turn in a large half circle to avoid her, which was a good thing she supposed. Her gaze lost a hue of its brightness when he was close enough for her to see a frown displayed on his rough and unkind face. So many of the coyotes here seemed to share the intense red eye colour, and Hybrid’s eyes glittered with that same colour as freshly drawn blood. They were not related though – at least not as Halo knew of. There were no direct family ties that bound them together and Hybrid had given her subtle hints before that he did not give a damn about her in any way. He did not stop until he was about a foot or two away from her and she stared emptily at him and watched him cock his head to one side. Halo had prepared no speech, but it was only the male’s skills she desired and so she would not have to make much out of this at all. ”Gabriel tells me that you fight like a true coyote,” she started off, sort of explaining what this was all about. Whether or not he was to realize that she was here exactly because she had wanted him to run into her did not matter the slightest to her. ”I’d like you to teach me your ways.” There. Their sizes were not all that different with her hybrid blood screwing up her four legged size. As a delayed response to his head tilting, she slowly let her head tip to the side as she sized his form up and down.

    WC: 339. No problem! :3

i heard they say the boy's missing

Hybrid regarded the Hydra quietly as she spent her time thinking. It was only a few moments, but during that time, Hybrid could see her thinking. It was a strange thing to sit and watch someone as they shared thoughts with themselves, but would undoubtedly refuse to divulge them to anyone else. The elder Hydra could not even guess what she was thinking about, so he simply waited. Of course, he needed not wait long, for once she had noticed him, she spoke, quickly. She had a strange expression on her face, one which might have correlated with her thoughts or her words. Hybrid knew that there were few creatures who spoke what they felt, and few that believed anything they said.

He frowned suddenly when she posed her demand, taking a moment to consider her request. He wanted to retort harshly, asking her why he should care about her or her training. He wanted to say that it was not his duty to teach her anything (it was) and that he owed her nothing (he didn't), but knew he couldn't. As a Hydra, she was valuable in some way. She had proven herself to someone to 'earn' her rank, and he knew if he did not help her, she would only bring Inferni down. He chose to vocalize this.

"I will, but only because we don't need any weak" female "members of Inferni dragging us down." He sneered, then added: "I am doing this for the betterment of Inferni. You better not fucking disappoint me." His eyes glittered with unmasked loathing; he did not care for Halo and doubted he ever would. Although he would give her a chance to prove herself, she would only get one. He did not care how hard she tried or how much effort she put into it. It didn't matter in the end when you were facing your enemy. Your strength was the sum of your determination and training. In battle, it was only the end product that mattered and nothing more.

He frowned and she waited patiently without a touch of own thoughts on her face. She already thought this coyote to be a total bastard, so there were no high expectations anyway. She knew what she would do if he was to deny her, but after some thought he agreed to her surprise. A thin smile danced across her delicate face for a moment before it was gone again. Oversized ears twitched as he decided to insult her in the same sentence, but this was more of what she had expected originally, so her heart did not quite drop yet. She wanted to pick up on that threat and confront him with those words, but she managed to calm down the temper that so strongly wanted to be let go. She could not afford such things with him. It was enough for her to know that she was not weak. Perhaps weaker than him, but physically she was stronger than many of her same sized canines and would be able to compete with larger canines. Her body was tightly wrapped with excellently maintained muscles – it was just that she did not properly know how to outmatch her opponent without her shiny blade.

She got up on all fours and sent him a rather arrogant snicker as she whipped a highly held tail close to his face in quiet tease. Of course she would not disappoint. She had received her hydra co-rank for a reason. It was he that better not disappoint her. Gabriel and Anselm were her main teachers and they were good at it. She did not believe Hybrid Holocaust would manage to reach up to their level, but what the hell, she needed some practice and would settle for this man when it was said that he held the best feral fighting skills. Although she was slightly larger than an average coyote, her long limbs granted her more speed than the average wolf. Lips twitched and she found that she still resented him for calling her weak moments earlier. Even if she wanted to let things go it seemed her mind was unable to release. She decided to remain silent, because if he already despised her she knew she would only make it worse by letting him know her own foul tongue.

WC: 644. Hybrid said lots! Big Grin

i heard they say the boy's missing

He eyed the girl with thinly masked distaste, waiting for her reply. He was surprised when she said nothing, and simply stewed for a moment. His frown deepened when he saw her get up and proceed to wave her tail in his face. He swatted at the girl's tail, extending his claws and attempting to rip a few pieces of fur off. What a stupid thing to do. He growled, clearly annoyed that she was not taking this seriously.

"Don't dick around, this is serious. Don't shove your fucking tail in my face," he spat, staring at her for a few moments, his lips twitching. He itched to bare his fangs at her and snap at her, demanding she know her place, but that would come soon enough. If she kept up such juvenile behaviour, it wouldn't be long until she fell out of disfavour with the leaders. She'd have to grow up if she ever wanted to fight, be it in a war or simply protecting the clan's borders. Hybrid leaned back and relaxed his features, pausing for a moment to appraise the girl. She had the appearance of a full-blooded coyote, but her proportions seemed a little awkward. She was slightly larger than most female coyotes — and might have outsized Hybrid had he been in his Lupus form — but she had oddly long limbs. Hybrid supposed that could help her outrun her opponents and draw them into a trap, but it would also make close fighting difficult. Hybrid frowned as he continued to study her, considering the possible fighting options she had.

"First off, you need to find a way to fight. You'll never be able to overpower someone, so don't try. You've got longer legs, so it will probably make close-quarters fighting awkward. Know your distance and judge your depth. Don't overextend yourself, ever." He frowned, then trotted over to where Halo was. He lifted one paw to illustrate his example. "You aim for the vitals, things that kill. If you're at a disadvantage, take out things like their legs to make it harder for them, but usually it works just as well to attack their neck. But if you lunge at them and they duck, make sure you can roll through it. Don't just flop on the ground. You'll end up hurting yourself a lot. If you end up lunging at them and they duck or you end up on their back, use it to your advantage. But be wary. If they duck, they'll be able to attack you faster than you can recover. Don't just flail at them, either. They'll just bite your paws off. Make sure you're in control, so if you do attack their neck, or jump at them, always aim to go through them." Here, he took his raised paw and leaned forward to prod at her shoulder. "You can slash through their shoulder, but project through them. Don't just plan on stopping at their shoulder. Always imagine projecting through them. It'll give you more power. Same for the face, but be careful. Again, they'll just bite your paws off if you fuck it up. If you try to bite their face, they'll bite yours. Always know that if you attack, they're not going to back down. They'll just attack back." He frowned, wondering if this was what she wanted to know. He supposed he could go into more detail about how she could attack and develop a system that worked for her, but he did not know what she wanted from him. With her long limbs, she could easily box her enemies to keep them at bay. If she used her Secui form, she'd be able to stand on her hind legs for a bit and attack, but her balance would be severely compromised, and Hybrid didn't know how effective that would be in battle.

It was impossible not to detect his disapproval, but the girl was determined to not let the other canine’s distaste affect her the least. The man before her dared to believe he was better than her and he did not even have Lykoi blood running through his veins. The corners of the girl’s lips pulled gently upwards in an unconscious smile. His claws groomed harmlessly through the very tip of her tail and she withdrew it swiftly and let it wrap itself gently around her cream painted paws. She studied him with wonder and let her smile fade to allow her face to take in a more serious expression. She wanted to snap back at him with cruel words, but she could not afford such a move at the moment. Another thing experience had shown her was that it was not always wise to snap out and talk before thinking, something that she had done more often than not in the past. Despite his age and time in the pack she still thought she too deserved some respect with her position alongside him and so high up in general. Arrogance was something she loathed in others even if she was so full of it herself.

They stared at each other for a few moments before he frowned and finally began to speak. Oversized ears pulled back slightly as he said essentially the same as Anselm. She would have to learn how to relay on speed and try to avoid too much close battling. However, if she changed her perspective a little it would not be as hard to learn this as her mind insisted it would be. She had improved enormously with her armed skills, where she also sometimes had to make a deal out of keeping a certain distance to her opponents in order to be able to move her sword more successfully. This was not on two legs and this was unarmed combat though. Her eyes moved between the man’s face and paw as words turned into something of a full speech already thick of instructions and facts. She remained silent and alert as he explained and used his paw to better show off his examples to her. When he was finished he frowned again and stared at her. She stared back, half expecting more words to twist out of him.

She was not certain of what she had expected. Was he done or did he allow a moment for her to come up with questions and similar before he continued? She did not have any questions. Anselm had already explained similar things when they trained unarmed combat in luperci form, and this was something of the same thing, though for the young female it seemed more complicated because she was not really used to thinking of her jaws as a weapon in battle. With her gun she had shot canines from distance and with her sword she had slashed canines without fearing they would manage to get close enough to rip her up. Her body held no scars at all – something that was rare even for a canine that had lived a life in peace. One always had an accident when one was young or something along those lines, but Halo’s skin was flawless under the beautiful layer of golden copper with both light and dark hues. No wonder none could take such a creature serious in a warrior’s rank. She was young and untouched; a warrior merely in name though had only experienced a few scenes with true hostility and blood.

Theory was one thing though, but theory would not help her all in the actual situation. Her brain learned and memorized what he said, but her four legged body knew nothing. She had been eager to try things out and wondered if he considered the lesson done already. She was uncertain of what to say though, for it seemed he thought whatever she did was stupid. Then again, she had decided not to let his disapproval affect her. ”That’s useful information, but will I be able to do this when my body has so little experience? Theory is important, but I’m also looking for experience as well”

    WC: 381

i heard they say the boy's missing

Hybrid regarded the girl as she listened, then frowned when she began to speak. He had to concentrate, for this throat was aching from all the talking he'd just done. Hybrid was fairly certain he had never spoken so many words at once in his entire life. Halo should feel honoured that he agreed to bear this uncomfortable burden for her. It sickened him to think she would never realize that.

"Yes," he rasped abruptly in response to her question. It took him two tries to get the word out, for he had gone for long stretches -- months, in fact -- without speaking to a single soul. He now realized that this had had a very adverse effect on his vocal chords. But it was not as if he actually needed them. Halo was correct in that respect: it was fine to talk and preach, but it meant nothing unless you could apply any of what you'd learned. Hybrid had never been taught any of this. He had watched sometimes, but for the most part, he had simply thrown himself into fights and hoped for the best. Inferni had a few sparring contests in the past to prepare members for fights, but aside from that, every battle Hybrid had fought had been a battle for his life, or something more -- his honour.

"We'll start," he croaked, then coughed. "We'll start in a circle. If you and your opponent are aware it's a fight, you'll probably circle a few times before someone makes a move," he explained. He began to walk, circling around Halo, keeping his head low and his body relaxed. "Walk, and when you can, attack. Follow my feet. Find a time when I'm at a disadvantage. Usually, there's no real disadvantage, but if there's a tree or bush or something behind me, try to push me into it," he continued. "We'll do this a few times. You try to attack me, then we'll switch. I'll circle and attack," he finished. They could trade back and forth to get a feel of how to start the fight until Halo understood. It would take time for her to learn the movement and understand when it was a good time to attack. Until then, she would have to keep practising.

Ears swivelled uncertainly as he immediately agreed with her words. Whether this was a good thing was at this point impossible to know. This was the first time they had actually spoken together, she and Hybrid, and she did not trust him. She did not doubt that he was an exquisite part that made Inferni glorious, but her royal blood could only take her so far. This beast had scarred Silas’ face and she did not know why. Those swivelling ears fell flat against her neck as Hybrid began to circle her after a few more sentences had risen. She got in a copied pose of Hybrid’s, head held low and body as relaxed as possible – which was far from completely because there was little trust in this male. She was a fragile warrior. His gaze wanted to turn her into prey and she knew that if this had been a realer scenario then she would have been overpowered by the impulse to run. It disgusted her to realize this.

Her ruby orbs slipped from the man’s twin hued eyes to his moving feet, and she too moved, not about to allow the ragged man to close in on her. Her fur bristled lightly as her mind strayed somewhat to wonder exactly how hard he would go out on her. It was already clear that she would receive no special treatment. It was odd to see a man so untouched by her lovely appearance. The first expression he had seen on his face was resentment. It made her uncomfortable. Her gaze intensified as she moments later snapped out of it. She was to look for a disadvantage. Her eyes swayed from their target in search for a close tree or bush, but she had taken time to find an empty spot where she would be able to spot him when if he walked around in the area. She took the search further, looking for uneven ground in Hybrid’s proximity.

When the moment came when he was closing in on some bumpy rocks and soil, her well trained muscles exploded immediately with motion. While she lacked skills and tactic in this form, she did not lack speed and strength. She was already a warrior – just in need to learn how to gain an advantage. Because this was Hybrid Holocaust, she went straight ahead in an attempt to ram into him.

"Don't look down," Hybrid commanded suddenly once he noticed Halo was trying to find some uneven ground. "Don't in a battle. Use your peripherals," he added, trying to be helpful, if that was even possible for him. If the girl legitimately wanted to improve her fighting skills, she would have to begin treating basic training exercises as preparation for real battles. There was no reason to allow her to slack here just because he wasn't going to kill her for her mistakes. She would have to learn that to keep her gaze up so she could see an attack. He would have to show her how to read a canine as well. Hybrid had not realized how much he did instinctively just because until he was forced to explain them. He always kept his eyes on his enemy, waiting for a change in posture or breathing that would give them away. He could force his opponent against a tree by following the shadows, all the while keeping his gaze trained on the attacker. He would survey the battleground before a fight to familiarize himself with his surroundings; however, most fights were not planned, and he had to figure things out along the way. He didn't know how to adequately explain this to Halo, but he was pleased she had taken his direction.

It was easier for Hybrid to evade her first attack than it normally would be. He knew she would be throwing herself at him at some point. When she did, Hybrid waited, and when he could wait no longer, ducked low to the ground, letting his thin body lie parallel with the ground. He twisted upwards, trying to throw her over his shoulder, using her momentum against her. He aimed to simply toss her over his shoulder by twisting his upper body to follow her attack and project her away. If he was successful, she would meet the ground with a great amount of force.

3 points. Lala posting at this weird workplace -- sorry if it's supercrappy, but Hybrid is mean anyway Q_Q

The girl had kept the stubborn frown from entering her face as she instantly was reprimanded (in a way!) for trying to do what he had told her to do. How was she supposed to find a way to get at him if she could not take notice of the area he was walking? Ruby hued eyes moved up to his matching ones again. Her teeth were bared in subtle discomfort at this odd and somewhat horrifying way of training her pathetic four legged fighting skills. She was doing her best to follow his advice in order to best help herself in the coming years as Inferni’s Hydra. She was not planning to die in the close future, and even if she found much of the learning process difficult because of her arrogance and reluctance to take orders from those not a leader or a person she liked, this had to be endured for her own sake.

It was odd how she failed at hitting the coyote. One second he was there and the next she knew she was tossed into an inelegant bundle of fur and legs partly on her back. She fumed with humiliation then, pushing her focus away from the pulsing ache that remained after the collision with earth. She sneered furiously and shook her silky fur to get rid of dust and dirt and to take a moment to gather her senses so that she would not turn this into anything more than it was: practice. Her teeth grinded together as she smoothly got into the circle again, though now not waiting for more than a handful of seconds before rushing at him again, aiming to hit him lower this time and even flashing her teeth so that she hopefully could get a mouthful of the bastard if he wanted to do the same trick again. Right before she had reached his form she changed her mind and adjusted her charge the last moment to offer a slightly less powerful collision (unless he pulled the same move again) and a bite aimed at one of the other beast’s limbs.

HYBRID IS SUPER MEAN. Big Grin Kind of powerplayish with Hybrid talking? Plz PM if you want it fixed! (WC: 539)

i heard they say the boy's missing

He had never considered how difficult it would be to teach someone things he had understood naturally. Or, perhaps, things he had discovered on his own through his fights and skirmishes. Perhaps one of the reasons Hybrid bore so many scars was because he had figured things out as he went along. He would try something, and if it didn't work, he would re-evaluate his plan and try another way, or perhaps try again. But usually when something did not work, his enemy got an attack of their own in, hence the scars. Moreover, Hybrid had grown up fighting in some way. Be it with words or with claws, he had never allowed himself much peace. It didn't come naturally to him: it was simply how he had lived and existed. If he considered it, it would be fairly easy to understand where his aggression came from; however, one of Hybrid's principle rules was to never think about the deep past or about the things that had hurt him. Now, he just accepted things as they came. Perhaps it had made him a better warrior. Perhaps it held him back; he would never know, since he would never question it.

Hybrid watched Halo as she pulled herself to her feet. He could see the anger boiling below the surface. Good. If she could control it, she could use it to her advantage. However, Hybrid suspected she would only use it to lash out. Stoicism was perhaps the perfect example of controlling one's rage. Gabriel did not even blink when he had attacked Hybrid and dislocated his shoulder. As Hybrid contemplated this, he noticed Halo was moving towards him -- fast. Hybrid had not expected her to recover so quickly, and her attack surprised him. She hit him lower this time. Hybrid knew he would not be able to get out of the way in time, so he tried to absorb the blow. He jumped backwards as she barrelled into him, flipping over, rolling and pulling himself to his feet. He was breathing heavily now, and although he expected she would continue with her attack, he decided to stand his ground and wait. He regained his footing and lowered himself into a defensive crouch, regarding her quietly.

"Better," he acknowledged. "I've got long legs and I don't weigh a whole lot. So it's good to take my feet out from under me. You're quick, too, so it works well. But do you see what I did? I used my peripheries -- they're a lot faster than staring someone straight on -- and rolled when I fell. You'll hurt yourself if you can't take an attack, get pushed onto uneven ground, or just fall awkwardly. You'll probably end up on your back. Never get on your back. They'll eat your innards. But to fall, don't just plop down on the ground. If you're falling, try to roll. Like rolling in the mud. You don't have much motion, but at least you can get out of the way. If you're travelling fast enough, you might just roll a bunch of times instead of breaking something," he concluded. "Let's try again," he added. "You pick: do you want to attack, or will I?"

300+ ARWRAWR

This time she crashed into him, and in the last moment when it was clear that he was in no position to pull the same stunt again, her jaw snapped shut and she did her best to slam into him as hard as possible. Yes, when the girl was mad she wanted to punish those around her. She hoped it would be like this when her opponent was her enemy. She wanted rage and desire to punish like now. The girl always seemed to turn hollow when she found or created conflict and moved in to kill. It puzzled her, because she had always expected such moments would be rewarded with the highest peak of exhilaration there was. She continued to try to understand her own mind and body, but had failed repeatedly so far.

She was not allowed to clash as hard against him as she wished, but she was pleased with getting in a hit nevertheless. Her ruby eyes held his form and memorized how he had stepped back to absorb some of the strength of her blow and how he so quickly had rolled over and regained his footing. It looked so easy. A light frown traced her beautiful face, for she was certain that moving that way with such speed and impulse was so much harder than it looked like. He was a dancer, just like her, but on four feet and a row of fangs rather than a sword. She could easily respect him for the skills he obviously possessed, but the girl was not about to adore someone that thought they were much better than her.

Most of her rage had mysteriously melted away like snow thrown into fire, and she waited and listened as the Hydra’s words rose again to comment on her movement and explain things further. Some things he spoke of she knew already. Let someone push you down on your back and it is a loss. She merely nodded when his fountain of words dried up again. He had wondered who would be the attacker this round and the arrogant girl flashed a cheeky grin that answered the question as well as any yes. She moved, kept his gaze and felt earth beneath her hybrid paws. Perceive, feel, act. No thought.

AWRRARARARA. >:O (WC: 345)

i heard they say the boy's missing

She had not noticed; good (and neither had Hybrid). He had thought he was fine, but now he realized her attack had done more damage than he had initially realized. Now that he was done talking, he felt his energy slowing draining away. It was difficult, he concluded, to explain something and attack and defend at the same time. He hadn't been able to catch his breath when he was speaking, and when Halo had dove for his feet, she had pushed him off balance and taken him by surprise. Now, he was realizing that even if she had not trained for a long time on four legs, much of this came naturally or more easily from her two-legged training.

He watched her carefully, trying to ensure she understood everything he told her. He was not sure how much made sense and how much sounded like him blabbering on. He did not even know if she could hear him, given how out of use his voice was, or if she was even paying attention. For a moment, the doubt consumed him, and Hybrid was filled with annoyance. She had better be paying attention if he was taking time out of his day to train someone like her. Hybrid didn't exactly know what she was, but the sour taste of anger weighed heavily on his tongue.

Once he finished talking, Halo flashed him a strange smile, almost as if she was happy or enjoying herself. Hybrid understood the meaning well enough, but he was not sure why she was finding this fun. He certainly was not trying to make it so. He frowned, but continued on, waiting and watching. He saw her expression change again as she paused. She did not attack, but Hybrid knew it would be coming. Again, he shifted his weight to prepare himself for the oncoming attack. She might take her time and taunt him, or she might attack immediately. Hybrid did not know, and the very thought made his blood race. He grinned wickedly in reply, beckoning her to try again.

Her elegant tail lost much of its fluid motion as her body found concentration again. This should not necessarily be too hard if she just managed to keep her act together. Months and months had gone by with plenty of hours devoted to the dance of blades and wars every day. She wondered if Hybrid could tell at all that she was something more than just a beginner. She was unable to guess such a thing because she had no way of judging skill in this weakened form where she was unable to wield one of her glorious blades. It was unusual for her to use her teeth in the attack, but she had both movement and claws in her optime fighting. The body was different but she thought she knew better what she was doing than she had expected she would. Or perhaps she was just getting overconfident because she had managed to hit the other Hydra.

She was grateful for his help, yes, but this canine had maimed Silas’ face. The girl had appreciated the meeting with the Russian and was not at all happy about Hybrid’s actions. Of course she knew nothing about the details and why it had been done, but Silas was an Inferni member and the other Hydra had obviously attacked him. Halo was a creature that rarely hesitated before judging. This was all she needed to know. Perhaps she should put in some true effort so that she could attempt to beat this man around a bit. She recognized the arrogance now – Hybrid was the expert in this field, but she was not the weakling he saw her as and she wanted to avenge her friend in the only way she could. Her face was smooth and lovely as she glared at her opponent with red rubies focusing on the moving form of the hybrid Hybrid.

A few seconds later she moved towards him at half speed, going after the closest hind leg with both fangs and weight before shifting slightly and darting for his face. Her parted fangs indicated that she wanted to bite him, but she’d rather toss her weight into his face. Whether the attack would be successful or not, she concentrated on the incoming impact – determined to let Hybrid’s position also be the point where her limbs would shift again and retreat. Strike and keep your distance.

329. Ouchie, Halo will be givin' Hybrid scars or something!

[html]

Halo continued to move. And with her, Hybrid moved in quiet tandem. For each step she took, Hybrid surveyed her body – not her steps – to keep time with her. As Hybrid found her pace, he created his own, sometimes stepping quicker or slower to see how she would react. Sometimes, he would pause in an attempt to goad her into attacking him. Everything he did was deliberate to demonstrate the different techniques she could use in a fight. Use your surroundings: take note of rocky or uneven ground. Use your peripherals: follow the opponent, not their legs. And most importantly, use your gut: don’t overthink, or you’ll underfight. Hybrid tended to follow the last rule quite well, following his instincts and disregarding full thought. Such complex brain exercises were better suited to the leaders, such as Gabriel, or his eyes, Anselm.

She moved quickly. Hybrid could see her movement, but he was uncertain of where she would attack. Hybrid put his weight on his front legs, pushing off with his back legs and whipping himself around to face her with his front. As he moved his back legs, she caught him with her teeth, and Hybrid yelped involuntarily. He had not been expecting that. He snarled in reply, but instead of pushing her off with his bared fangs, she had only moved closer. He did not like this: she was growing bold. For him, now, this was bad. For him later, as a warrior and Hydra, this was good. She was learning.

Now, however, he did not appreciate this. Hybrid tried to recoil, but Halo’s attack was successful. Her teeth closed on scarred skin; his face was already becoming rather marred with scars and gashes. Halo’s momentum threw Hybrid off, and he twisted his head to ensure that he did not expose his neck to her. He tried to twist his head underneath her muzzle and snapped at her neck, trying to bite the sensitive flesh of her neck.

Let me know if I should change anything! This thread is funny XD!

No one was as surprised as Halo when her fangs caught his leg. They sunk through, but she released short after and twisted to lash out like a snake again. Her feet danced; refusing to let her form know stillness as she aimed for something closer to his face. Then his eyes and jaws were there and ducked down towards what seemed to her to be her throat. She moved in the opposite direction of his flashing teeth, but found that he too could be lightening quick when she felt sharp pin points dig into her thickly pelted neck. She saw red then and twisted away before diving to dig her teeth into his flank at the same time as she kicked out with a hind leg in a wish to shatter his teeth. The area by her neck seemed to pulse with additional doses of pain and she realized that by twisting away she had let his teeth tear more. Hot liquid dribbled through the copper coated fur and she knew that she was bleeding. Was this still a friendly spar? He could not be trusted – he had injured Silas’s handsome face when he was supposed to be a protector and defender.

Maybe the last bit, where she darts off. Hybrid's trying to evade her haunch-bite by just throwing himself at her. Maybe she anticipated getting away and then had a coyote throwing himself at her (not like that).

[html]

There was a flurry of movement. In these few seconds, Hybrid’s fangs managed to penetrate her flesh, drawing blood. He did not have time to consider the implications of this: the joy he felt when he tasted the blood of an enemy, or the guilt when he realized it was the blood of Inferni hot on his fangs. However, he did reason that she had drawn first blood. It was her choice, and if she wanted to truly experience what a fight was like on four legs was like, Hybrid would be obliged to show her.

Halo twisted away, making Hybrid’s attack much worse. Perhaps she did not notice the pain, for she quickly lunged at Hybrid’s back. He wasn’t sure where she was aiming, but he did not want to find out. He quickly threw all of his weight at her, trying to shoulder her to the ground. As he lunged at her, he could see her lash out with her back legs, trying to kick him. Probably in the eyes. He was glad he hadn’t been there for that. As he tried to barrel into her, he twisted, trying to get his claws on top of her. Although the angle was awkward, it would be better than having her biting his back legs. He couldn’t remember why, but his back right leg was covered in a web of scars, probably from some fight in the past.

Suresure!

She realized that she did not truly want this. The area where his teeth had touched her ached and bled. What if it would result in a scar! That bastard. His weight crushed against her and would have caused her to lose her balance completely had her muscles not been quick to stiffen and keep her standing. She stumbled away and rotated to try biting his side, but he was twisting around, forcing her to find a new target to attack. She saw his claws rise with intention to hurt her and she almost started to flee from the pain that she knew was coming for her. How the fuck dared he! It mattered little to her that she was the one that had started it. He deserved it, that bloody bastard.

She wanted two feet and she wanted her sword. When claws found her form she twisted and tried to toss her large lupus form back at him while trying to use her current position to lash out against his softer areas that had been made more available to her when his claws rose to come for her. Her four legged body was still more alien than not to her, and she knew that she did not have full control of the situation any longer. She was afraid to get maimed more than anything, and that train of thought shocked her more than anything. Scars were beautiful, but she was as well and she did not have any.

Sorry for the wait D8 Wrap this up soon?

[html]

His attempt to completely throw her off her feet was unsuccessful. Hybrid grinned in pleasure, glad she was at least trying to put up a fight. It was far more interesting now that she was trying to attack him and trying to show him what her teeth were made of. Now they knew the taste of one another’s blood; that was a bond wrought in violence and it could never be forgotten. She twisted out of it somehow, stiffening her entire body and making it impossible for him to get a hold of her.

Soon enough, she attacked again, pushing back at him with claws of her own. Hybrid snarled, stepping diagonally to evade her attack. He continued moving, refusing to let her find him. He knew they would both begin to tire soon enough; it was inevitable, and he did not want to be the first one to do so.

“Stop!” he bellowed suddenly. She had lost herself too much in this fight. She had progressed admirably, but he had to put an end to it. He could only hope she would not continue on; she would likely end up wounded, or worse. Hybrid would not be responsible for the death or injury of a fellow Inferni member
