something in the air

It wasn’t very often that the Commander of Crimson Dreams made the trek into the city, but she figured she had better go before the weather got too bad. Her long cream coat and multihued scarf were wrapped around her to help stave off the frigid cold. The Mediterranean wolf was not built for such a climate and so she donned such human leftovers when at all other times she preferred to be au naturale. At this time of the year though her preference was to stay warm and so the old clothing helped. She wanted to find similar coats and scarves for her daughters and one for her son as well. Gotham may not be bothered by the cold so much to need a coat, but she knew that her girls would appreciate the extra layer as much as she did, especially Cambria. Her chocolate daughter was even skinnier than she was.

That wasn’t the only thing that Savina was hoping to find though. With the news of Haku’s ascension to the throne of Dahlia de Mai she was hoping to catch Anselm around and make sure that everything was alright on his end of things. Ryan and her daughter may have been gone from the lands, but the de le Poer male was one of her dearest friends and she knew that with Haku Soul in control Inferni’s safety was at risk. She hoped that things wouldn’t resort to war, but deep inside she already knew that that was probably too much to hope for. Without someone for the brown beast to bow his head to he would run rampant with his madness and no one in Nova Scotia would be truly safe.

She kept her head ducked as the wind made her raven locks dance in the air as she made her way down the streets of the abandoned city. The wind was even worse between the crumbling behemoths. It almost made her want to run back to the warmth of her home, but she pressed on in the direction of Anselm’s garage in the hopes of hearing news, whether good or ill.

The ochre and deep onyx girl rarely ever shifted after she learned how to do it. She hadn't been doing it for that long either, she just felt almost disgusting looking half human the way they did. Quietly she pushed through the freezing cold, looking around, she was starting to get lost because the snow was getting pretty bad. The wind howled like a yelling mother telling her children to stay inside, however Valkyrie couldn't just sit inside, she was upset about what Anselm had told her. Nothing would be better until the monster was dead, and since then she had been having nothing but terrible nightmares about Haku coming to take her away like he once did to Gabriel's daughter. She knew that Anselm would be close around here, his garage near by and she was sure that her mother or father could have been close to to she titled her head back and let out a sort howl. Of course the girl didn't want to attract anyone from too far away so a quick, almost yelp, was good enough for now unless no one answered her.

The snow covered everything, making the abandoned city look pretty, she could have only imagined what it once looked like. Keeping ducked down, she hid under a roof that was pulled away from the side of the house that she could use it as shelter from the horrible cold. Shaking a little bit, the girl was way too skinny and tiny to be out here by herself, especially the fact that she had no idea where she was. Val was hoping someone would come quick as gamboge eyes darted from left to right looking for any sign of movement.

Wasn't sure if she was under an awning or like...a piece of roof that had fallen and was propped up against a house, so let me know if this isn't right XD SoSuWriMo 279

A large gust blew over her and nearly knocked the slender femme off balance. She glared out at the wintery world, an annoyed growl rumbling in her throat. "How does anyone stand this blasted weather!" she cried out in frustration. She was built for spring and summer, that was when she had been born and that was when she flourished. Savina wondered if Ghita and Ehno had as hard a time adjusting to Nova Scotia's winters as she did. Even getting through one had not made it any easier. The thing that she definitely missed the most about Italy was the weather. Having it be warm all year round was a gift that the fey was sorely missing now.

Grumbling to herself her thoughts were interrupted when a short call came out from up ahead. Brows knit together in confusion and concerned. The voice sounded somewhat young and she couldn't help but wonder if it were a call for help. Bundling her arms around her even tighter Savina trudged forward in the direction that she thought the yip had come from, though with the howling wind it was hard to tell where it had originated. Her hair whipped about her face as emerald eyes searched for any sign of another. Finally she caught a flash of color in the white and gray world. It was a younger coyote it looked like, though not as young as she had thought, huddling under a roof. Slowly she approached, hoping to convey that she meant no harm. "Hello, are you alright?" she called out over the howl of the air. Something about the other looked familiar, but she couldn't quite place it.

Quietly, Valkyrie waited for someone to come and no sign of anyone was out there. She shook nervously, unsure of what to do now. If she was missing, who would even know? No one because her mother wasn't around at the moment, she still had stuff to do outside of Inferni lands so she was off but was planning coming back soon.

Movement appeared from somewhere and she stood up as straight as she could to make herself taller, if it was a wolf she was hoping it wouldn't mess with her. However, it was a wolf but she was dressed as a human and Val almost gave her a dirty look until the nice lady asked her if she was alright. Staring at the female, she had no words to say because she was nervous, she had no idea who the woman was.

On all fours, she looked up at the tall black women and shook as she looked around before she finally looked up once more, “I'm a little lost.” she whispered, barely audible due to the wind howling. “Do you know how to get to back to Inferni lands?” she questioned, shaking a little once more. It was starting to get really chilly but she was more nervous that this women was part of Haku's pack and would eat her up in one bite.

Wait, is she shifted or not? Thought she was in that first post D: Also, this is crap, I apologize SoSuWriMo 226

The younger canine seemed to tense until Savina spoke to her and then she appeared to realize that she was in no danger from her. Her heart went out to the young girl. Before she even said it it was clear that she was a little turned around and to be lost was distressing enough without being lost in the snow. Still, she was glad that she had found the girl and not someone from Dahlia de Mai. "Inferni is in that direction," she said pointing off to the north and a little bit east. "Do you want me to walk with you for a little while? So you don't get turned around again?" She had gotten lucky this time, but letting the smaller female walk away was not something Savina could do in good conscience.

It came to her mind that she probably wouldn't trust her right off the bat, so if she dropped a few names perhaps that would help her realize that she truly was a friend and not a foe. "My name is Savina, Savina Marino. I'm from Crimson Dreams and I know Anselm de le Poer who lives in Inferni, he's a good friend of mine." It was a shot in the dark whether or not she would know Anselm, but luckily for the Italain she was talking to his granddaughter.
