Poor Kable, lol

Kable was slowly growing. His silvery and gray body was slightly taller with his odd long legs and his big puppy paws, floppy ear were starting to straighten themselves on his head. Jumping through the thick snow he checked behind him every now and then, looking for anyone who might get him into trouble. Looking back ahead Kable had a big smile across his face, tongue hanging out he jumped over another mound of snow as he cut through it leaving a trail behind him.

“why does there have to be sooo much snow?” Complaining Kable’s red eyes were set on the large red barn that had the fenced fields all around it. Jumping into the snow, it sent the white powder into the air that rained back down as he trotted down the small hill. Excitement filled his young body as his heart pounded in his chest, curved tail was high behind him moving widely as he moved down the hill.

Slipping suddenly Kable’s cried out as he flipped forward into the snow, rolled down the rest of the hill. Crawling out of the snow Kable whined, shacking the snow off of himself his red eyes watered as his nose throbbed from hitting the ground. “ouch.” his small voice whine as he sat in the snow, his under body still hidden beneath the white blanket. I want my momma. Sniffling, he looked up at the barn with his red eyes as he took a few settling breaths. Going against the idea to go back home Kable pushed his brows together in a stubborn, tough face as his pulled himself free from the snow.

Getting to the fence was much easier, looking at it the hybrid pup almost forgot that his nose hurt. Crawling under he quietly made his way to the barn, stepping lightly he looked for whatever was making the strange sounds he was starting to hear. Ears fanned forward his red eyes were wide as he slowly made his way into the large barn, so many new smells reached him that he frowned. Sniffling his nose still throbbed, unknown to him there was a small smudge of blood on the tip. Blinking Kable froze as a loud, strange sound echoed through the huge barn making his much smaller body freeze on the spot.

“..w-w-whats that.” he whispered to himself. Slinking forward in almost a crawl Kable’s gray form crawled underneath a door. Looking around it was kind of dark, narrowing his eyes he looked over and with thinking he screamed at the top of his lungs. The large dark colored horse screamed it’s own startled cry as it reared up. Wide eye Kable couldn’t think clearly as he darted around, trying to get away from the large hooves of the horse that came crashing down after him. ”HEELP!!” Crying he screamed as a gust of air hit his face as the hoof landed in front of him. From any passerby it would seem the barn was in chaos.

Thank you for starting! =D In my next post, I can have him scoop Kable up and stuff if you wanted to save him from his oh-so-vicious attacker. ^^ 529 words.

####After having checked on Nádherné that morning in his makeshift stable in the back yard of Vigilante’s house, the dog mutt had decided that it would be a good day to gather new materials. He wanted to make something interesting for Ayita, or maybe even something for her two children, but he had no ideas about what he should make for them. He lacked the ability to think of anything particularly creative or nice, so he had decided that some new inspiration might do the trick. Visiting the stables seemed like a good idea, as he often got his supplies and tools there. It was even possible he would see something that could inspire him to make something great for Ayita, Amaranth, and Kable. “I will let you out later,” he promised the stallion before turning to leave. He did not want to bring Nádherné to the stables, in case he happened to not want the company of other stallions. It would have been a good idea to let him out now, but Vigilante did not expect that the stallion would leave everything alone. It was very likely that he might have even tried to wreak havoc out of his old habits.

####He found the walk refreshing, taking some time by himself for a few minutes. Having always lived alone, or at most, in a cave with his sister, it was strange for him to have company in his house. It made him happy to have the three of them there—more thrilled than he could have even put into coherent words—but he did find it very strange. He had gone from the bachelor life to having a mate and helping care for her two very young children, as well. That didn’t bother him, per se. Amaranth and Kable were adorable, and he certainly loved having them around, but the last time he had been involved in raising puppies had been his sister’s only litter. It was a painful memory was all, but he tried his best to ignore it and focus on how wonderful his life was going. He hardly even thought of the war raging to the north of them, as it simply was not a prominent thing in his mind. For the first time in a long time, he honestly loved the way that his life was going. Things had gone uphill and stayed there, most definitely.

####That thought was cut short by a yell from the stables, and Vigilante broke into a sprint, not even thinking of shifting into his four-legged form. It could be a good idea, especially if there was real trouble in the barn. He was capable on both sets of legs, but he could move faster in his dog form. The thought was barely even in his mind by the time he was pushing his way into the stables, eyes adjusting to the dimmer lighting in the building quickly as he dismissed the idea. He recognized the voice that had called for help: Kable. “Kable? Where are you?” he called loudly, moving from stall to stall in hopes of finding the young boy before anything could actually happen to him.

you can save him Big Grin

Looking up at the large dark beast Kable's red eyes were wide with fear, his heart pounded in his chest so hard it might bust through. Shrinking into the corner of a second his body froze as the large animal reared up, letting another roar out as it locked onto the silvery pup. Darting through the hay and dirt Kable skidded to the other side of the stall, panic filled him sending his young mind into a pit of fear where he can't think clearly. "AHHH!!" Screaming even louder his legs shook beneath him as he darted around the horses hooves that slammed on the ground, each hit almost stunned him as the loud sound echoed through the small stall hurting his puppy ears.

Scrambling back and fourth in the dark stall his lung burned from breathing as his legs begun to feel tired, the loud angry sounds of the horse sent fear through the grey pup as it kicked its hooves. Ears were pinned on his small skull as his red eyes begun to tear up as he forgot completely about his bloody, sore nose. Running underneath the horse Kable quickly clawed at the wood when a sound made him pause. Vigilante! Happiness filled him but it disappeared as a sudden startled scream left him as the hooves slammed within a inch of his form, shacking he tried to dodge as his wide eyes started to release the tears that were inside.

"H-Help!! V-V-Vigilante!! There's a monster!!" Crying he ran along the wood moving quickly away from the horse but he didn't move enough. Suddenly the breath was knocked out of him as his silver body flew across the stall hitting the wood with a thud, falling onto the ground looked up with wide, tear filled eyes as he chocked for air. "VIGILANTE!!" The pup screamed the best he could as his nose throbbed with blood dripping, lungs burning he stared up at the horse with a sick feeling in his gut.

Just so you know, reading that, I made a really loud, sad, "Ooooh! Poor Kable!" He's cute. <3 500 words even.

####The horse’s stall that the screams were originating from was not hard to find at all, the large beast rearing and kicking while making more noise than the obviously frightened pup. Vigilante moved quickly, not even realizing as he pulled open the door to the stall, stepping in between the rearing horse and the frightened puppy. Without concern for himself, the doggish man quickly bent down, grabbing hold of the silver-toned boy in one sweeping motion. He nearly made it out of the stall completely fine, but just as he was about to close the stall’s door quickly, he felt a blow to the back of his calf from one of the horse’s hooves. Thankfully, he had been far enough out of reach that it did not get him as hard as it could have, and all it did was cause his leg to buckle beneath him, though he was able to keep himself upright as he carried Kable away from the angry horse’s stall, holding him protectively. The boy might not have been his own son, but Vigilante cared for him like he was. If anything were to happen to him when Vigilante was there to prevent it, the shepherd-malamute mutt would not have been able to forgive himself. He doubted that either of the boy’s parents would be very pleased, either, if there had been a chance for something to have been prevented and it happened anyway.

####Leaving the stable, the supplies that he had come to find completely forgotten in the adrenaline rush that had just happened, Vigilante knelt to the ground, lowering the frightened puppy to the soft, snowy ground. Now that they were outside, completely out of harm’s way, the man was able to take in the sight of the silver boy. His dark green eyes took in the blood on Ayita’s son’s nose, next realizing how winded the boy seemed, which only made sense considering he had just been thrown across the stall by the horse. Concern flooded his gaze as he studied the boy, watching for any signs that he would need to call for someone who had talent in medical care. If he had gotten there just moments before, he might have been able to prevent some of the injuries, but there was no sense in thinking like that. It was not helpful, and it just served to make him feel worse about the fact that he had not known where Amaranth and Kable were in the first place. “Kable, do you need me to call for someone who knows medicine?” He could not think of anyone for certain, but as far as he knew, Alaine had been on her way to the job. “Did the horse get your nose, too?” It was not that important to know what had happened, but he wanted an account of what had happened that was as clear as possible so that he would be able to tell Alaine, if she was needed, and Ayita later.
