tears of the sun

The chain of events that had landed Firefly stuck within the pack’s lands for the past few days hung heavy on her heart. She had begun to relax within her home once more and hadn’t been so prickly towards those she knew. The pregnancy had changed some things though, and the war that followed had set her out on a course that she now wished she had been able to abandon. She couldn’t though and she had stayed curled up in a miserable little ball for two solid days. There were no more tears to weep and the sorrow that had flooded her soul now had turned her hear to ice once more.

She would not find herself a mother once more, her mind couldn’t help but throw cold thoughts about her head, making her wonder if perhaps Conor wouldn’t shoot her looks filled with disgust and contempt, and maybe Jacquez would stop acting a child and grow a bit of spine. She opened her eyes, pushing back the flood of ill notions as her dull haunted green orbs gazed at the weak rays of sunlight that poured through the dirty glass.

Snow fell softly outside, showing her that the world still turned and the sun would continue to rise. None would remember the lost pups past a season or so except her. She narrowed her eyes as she lifted herself from the bed. The coppery scent of blood still tainting the air, causing a shudder to escape down her spine as she felt every ache and bruise about her once more small frame. Two days without food hadn’t helped either but she wasn’t thinking of food or nutrition. She could feel one of the gashes split open as blood filled the air, fresh again. She didn’t stop to try and cleanse the wound or even to see how bad it was. She just limped on, determined to remove herself from the room where memories clung.

The brisk cold air hit her face as she pushed through the front door and stepped onto the porch. Her paws felt clumsy as she made her way down the stairs, the shadowy figure of Elroy following her, though she never turned to see the worry and concern in the feline’s face. Instead she just moved on, down each step carefully, though she couldn’t keep from lurching and staggering as her paws hit the snow of the ground.

She came to a crumpled halt in one of the drifts of snow that piled high along the side of the steps. She just sunk down into the soft white blanket and closed her eyes, the cold seeping into her body as she felt the anger and rage at what the monsters who resided in Dahlia de Mai had done to her. Bitter tears she wept as the lithe feline cautiously came to join her in the snow, knowing that she should be out and about but not knowing how in the world he would be able to make her return to the warmer reaches of the cabin.

He sat with his head laying atop her muzzle as his bright blue orbs cast about the land, hoping that one of the pack would show to check up on the wounded woman. He didn’t know where he would go to find help if no one showed soon, but he was still too afraid to leave her as well. The poor little creature that was more of a pain and bother to the lady sure had found himself in a hard spot as he tried to lick away the tears that cast down her face.

sorry for my closeness, exams suck

Walking around after what happened at the stables may not be wise, but Kable was determined not to let that get him down. He was a explorer and he wanted to look at everything there was in their home, and maybe find a advertager for himself. One that isn't so scary. Moving through the snow his his paws pressed on the snow slowly, his side still hurts from the horse but he was fine to walk he just couldn't run. Plopping down beside a tree his grey, floppy puppy ears flicked back on his head as he stared down at the snow around his paws with a sigh. "Why can't i ever find anyone who likes to play with me..." he said quietly to himself before looking behind himself again, a habit that he uses very often.

Sniffing was still kinda of hard since some dried blood crusted around the inside of his nose. Breathing a low sound rolled into his ears that fanned forward, blinking his red eyes widened in curiosity as he leaned forward looking around the tree. Moving further out from his hiding spot he stuck close to the snow, his silvery coat helped him blend in somewhat. That last thing the pup expected to see was a lady, a pretty lady with a pretty coat. 'But she's crying.' Kable's brows pushed together as he watched for a second, he wasn't sure if she should go help or stay away. Thinking for a moment he took a deep breath that puffed out his small chest as he put a determined, tough face on.

Walking forward Kable moved safely through the snow so he wouldn't slip, hopping of a small mound as he got closer to the house. Pausing for a second he stopped in the thick snow, only a few yards from the house he pulled a paw to his chest as his nervous eyes watched the sad woman. Tail low he glanced back again before gulping some air, remaining still he didn't want to move any closer. "Whats wrong..umm miss?" Speaking up Kable spoke kindly though nervously as he watched her with curiosity eyes as he glanced at the cat.

Firefly had been weeping so and she was tired, she hadn’t even noticed the small boy approaching, Elroy had and had sprung from the snow to stand between the youth and her. When the small voice passed towards her she lifted her head with a jerk and winced, having split one of the wounds upon her shoulder open again. She stared at the blood for a moment before turning her gaze back to the child. Her ears pinned back in confusion but she slowly realized that this was Amaranth’s brother and she sighed, a dull aching in her chest for the children she had lost. ”I’m just sad..” she said softly as she gazed down at her paws. She wasn’t about to explain to the young pup what had happened that had made her sad, she didn’t think he needed a lesson on life and death just yet.

She shifted her frame in the snow, the chill from the soft flakes wasn’t bothering her as much as it should her, it had frozen her wounds shut at least. She glanced down at the cuts and scrapes along her forelegs as she felt fresh tears forming in her eyes. She barely felt the soft pat of Elroy’s paw as he tried to get her attention again. She knew the cat had been watching her since the few pack members who had known what had befallen her had left. She wished that she could just send him along with not worries but she doubted he would go. He had a fierce loyalty she didn’t deserve but she was thankful for it at the least. She didn’t want to be alone just now, even if she’d sent the rest of her pack away.

She let her gaze fall back to the boy as she gazed at him quietly, finally asking. ”Are you suppose to be out wandering so far from home..” She knew that Ayita didn’t like the pups gone too far from Vigilante’s cabin but it seemed she could do little to keep them in line. She felt the tiniest waver of a smile at the corner of her lips at the thought. They were going to be a handful within the next few moons, she could see it already.
