Skin and flesh and bones were torn apart by powerful jaws and quickly devoured by a beast possessed by a never-ending hunger. Soon there was nothing but a crimson mark after the unfortunate hare, and the large secui let his tongue run over the remaining stain eagerly, trying to get every drop of the precious liquid that he worshipped so. The prey had been small and skinny, unable to satisfy the beast’s hollow, aching ribcage. There were needs that no ordinary prey’s flesh could satisfy, and the Rosen knew this very well. The russet creature wandered away from the location where it had consumed its dinner and continued padding through the forlorn city of Halifax. Various scents were splattered across the scenery, though the night usually offered Haku Soul the solitude he so often sought. It was unknown why the large canine had spend his last days within these lands, but now his muzzle started to peek towards north-west, towards Dahlia de Mai and its cold war.

A ripple went through the large beast and the male turned to face the naked, crumbling ghost town that once had been so magnificent. The windows were dark, though he saw movement behind the transparent glass. Red glows and rows of sharp teeth. Jaws parted slowly as he watched the dark creatures of hell pulse with their remaining echoes of what once had been life. They hungered too. Haku licked his blood stained muzzle absently and turned back to continue onwards on his path back to the damned lands of Dahlia de Mai. Ears flickered as he walked without a sound, taking in the voices that belonged to the night and the low rumble of forlorn souls rising from the ground he walked on. Half tail moved contently behind the large Halfling form. Tonight would be no ordinary night. The light breeze whispered faintly of an invisible being approaching.

Night. Normally the mongrel king hated the darkness, just as he hated the cold of winter, but tonight it was to his advantage... The border patrol of his kingdom all but vanished once the sun set; Haven had a new lady friend he wanted to spend time with, Vigilante was usurping Leroy's place as the father of Ayita's children, and none of the females had deemed themselves worthy of a man's work. The coast was clear for the wayward king to slip free under the cover of shadows, and none would be the wiser.

It was conflict that he thrived on, excitement that he sought, but he had plenty of legitimate reason to be seeking a private duel. Just days earlier, he had met with Kaena Lykoi, and seen how haggard and broken the woman had become. She was one of the only females he had respect for, and that was all but gone now. He owed Haku a scar for that, and for shredding Svara, and putting Ruri in danger, and bullying Amaranth, and for Firefly's sake, who had lost her litter... his litter.

Oh, there were a million reasons why the blue-eyed monster needed to be slain, but Jacquez couldn't deny the quickening of his heartbeat, the heat that flushed his face, the pure adrenaline that had his tail lashing and eyes gleaming in the darkness; he wanted a real fight, and Haku was the one who could give it to him.

The one-armed Optime stood boldly in the middle of the snowy field, one hand planted jauntily on his hip. He was in the 'hot zone', as Kaena had called it -- close enough to Dahlia de Mai that the faint wind carried him the individual scent markers of their borders. All he had to do was wait. He was impatient by nature, but not tonight. The air held anticipation, the rustling of nocturnal creatures falling silent out of hushed respect. He would not have to wait for long.

Thank you, Miyu Big Grin 300+

Muscles shifted and let the beast’s body drift forward with motion fluid in a manner similar to that of a mighty feline, arrogant and independent like few other creatures could ever hope to be. In the blurred vision furthest away from his pupil’s focus there were raging fires and burning souls. His rough yet silky ears turned in hopeful pursuit of the crackling from the nature force and the sound of a thousand tormented screams, but these seeings were not from this world. He felt the heat of the fatal flames reach out for his warmth absorbing fur and felt the cold of the dead forever burning in the agony they so foolishly had chosen in a time when they thought they knew what hell was like. They were doomed to scream until the very end, if there even existed one.

He wanted to watch the inferno and gloat in his father’s glory, but there was something else waiting for him at the end of this crumbling concrete road. A two legged creature was waiting for him, and the demon nearly took the time to wonder how the optime had found him. The two had never met, though had he dug into his host’s memories he would eventually have recognized this werewolf – dog would perhaps be more appropriate – as Jacquez Trouillefou, the foolish leader of Cour de Miracles. It was strange how the packs had managed not to crush together to turn their lives into blood and flesh and tragedy. He sadly regretted that he had failed to kill the child when the opportunity had been there. Death, however, was not always the way to go. Corruption and suffering were delicious tastes worth waiting for. The young child had wondered about death and he had wished for her to see. So few did – so few wished to. Perhaps that was why her heart continued to pulse with life.

Electric blue watched the creature blocking his desired path. The corner of the four legged creature’s lips curled slightly upwards as he considered this pleasant surprise of sorts, his eyes holding a slight glint of amusement. ”Who are you?” the cold, raspy voice of the mass murderer wondered, the sound of it as hollow as the beast’s blackened soul.

wc: 300+ // =D These two were much cuter as puppies together!

The voice that sounded behind him was colder than the snow beneath his footpaws. Jacquez turned, too curious to be intimidated -- he had heard so many descriptions, emphasized by fear or loathing, but this was his first glimpse of the Dahlian tyrant's face. The wolf was shaggy and riddled with scars, muscular and hulking in the rarely-seen Secui form. Jacquez narrowed his eyes judgmentally, inwardly sneering that this so-called ruler still crawled about on all fours. There was something dangerous in those vivid blue eyes, though, or maybe that something was the absolute nothingness behind them...

"I am the King of the Court of Miracles," he replied boldly, his loud voice imperious with the challenge it carried. "...You've spilled a lot of my followers' blood." Without a kill, though, he could not find the support he needed to go to war against Haku and his minions. Too many of his packmates had families, or were otherwise pacifists; it frustrated him to remain neutral when he felt so passionately about his territory being violated.

He sank into a crouch, fangs flashing in a wild grin as his plumed tail lashed behind him. It had been some time since he'd fought someone on all fours, and Haku seemed to be a formidable opponent. The mad king relished the challenge. First step would be to punch some of his teeth out, that would slow him up. Or his eyes -- one well-placed thumb and the big bad wolf wouldn't be half as scary as everyone seemed to think he was.

No trick was too dirty. The one-armed man had learned quickly to discard honor and simply fight for survival. One thing he didn't learn, though, was when to quit... "Ta fourrure fera une beauté du manteau," he remarked with a leer, barely noticing his casual slip into French. It didn't matter if Haku could understand his words anyway, it was a provocation regardless of tongue.

They're not so cute anymore, no Undecided 300+

Pitch black claws dug down into crumbling concrete and dirt, anticipating soft flesh and red currents. An ear rose from his furred skull as the three limbed creature spoke before settling back, brown against brown. So this was the man that dared to call himself a king. This was a dog, he had no right to live in the time of the wolves. Humans had broken down this canine’s kind, and now when they were gone the dogs should too disappear. Despite his dog genes his size was larger than what the chocolate and cream coated monster had predicted. Perhaps the man would be more of a challenge then, though the blue eyed creature doubted this. Not with three legs. How pathetic it was that such a miserable creature held worth somewhere. Haku removed filth and it was obvious that his services were needed here today.

The man crouched down and Haku’s mocking smile slowly died, disappointed that the man took such a stance already, as it would definitely not tilt things to his favour. Blood was blood and flesh was flesh in the end nevertheless. The Rosen of Dahlia was already sprinting towards the optime as unintelligent noises rose from the orange dog’s lips. At once the armless side was targeted, and as he closed in on the other male he was at full speed until there were several feet between them, for then he twisted to the side to ensure he was outside of the man’s lonely fist’s reach. Fangs were bared and eyes glowed with insanity as he lusted for the liquid life coursing under the other’s skin. The sound of Jacquiez’ heart, regardless if it was imagined or real, was especially appealing.

The crazed monster was as bad as any blood thirsty vampire, craving blood and flesh and soul.

"...Nothing to say for yourself, Haku?" Jacquez Trouillefou gazed imperiously down at his enemy, fearless smirk matched by the wolf's mocking leer. Neither would back down. Neither would stop at drawing first blood, no, this would be a battle to the death. And the self-proclaimed king could not be happier about it...

Blue eyes flashed in the reflective glass and steel, shattered windows splintering an endless sea of snarling wolves. The dead city was an oddly appropriate place for the bloodthirsty tyrant to be found lurking, a fitting place for his life to be snuffed. It would be ideal, of course, to draw him further into the open field where the snow would counteract his opponent's dark fur, but Jacquez never once considered that he could lose. He was a divine being! Of course he would triumph over this raggedy scum, the one who ruled by trickery and fear. He decided that while he would like to keep Haku's fur, he would offer the brute's skull as a gift to Kaena. That would make her smile...

Before the taunt had left his lips, the grizzled thing was moving, great muscular bounds tearing up the distance between them. Jacquez barked a laugh, the excitement spiking through his system, making him shudder with anticipation. The Secui could dart about much faster than him, but that was no bother, he didn't need to move from this spot. Haku would come to him. Those secui talons looked brutal, but if he was pinned down by the throat, Haku would not be able to claw his way free soon enough, or so he assumed. The wolf feinted to one side, clearly honing in on Jacquez's armless handicap. With practiced ease, the king dropped onto his chest, swinging a leg to kick at the wolf and break his advance.

This is a bit weird because I'm REALLY tired q_q 300+

Orange in various shades, fragile skin with blood boiling underneath, Haku could see everything that the dog was made of. The four legged brute knew so well what he wished to do to the other. It was primal hunger; a predator lusting so for the prey that was so close the molecules in the airs vibrated with the tension. This man before the Dahlian King was a fool, for he did not turn to run. Perhaps that should have indicated bravery, but there was nothing but certain death in store for the dog here. Eyes refused to leave their target as shadow creatures crawled closer in the corner of his eyes. Hungry jaws ached with the emptiness that existed between the two jagged rows. As usual, the four legged hunter was silent as the ghosts that surrounded him, watching and tasting the air with hungry teeth that hungered for living flesh. The ghosts were damned to eternal hunger, but the immortal being temporarily clothed by bones, flesh and skin had no limitations.

The large secui form was almost elegant as it twisted out of the way of a kick aimed in his general direction. The moment the leg had exploded with the power behind the motion the cocoa coated form lunged itself after it, seeking to sink his fangs into the upper ankle or continuing on to try to bite down on the muscled spine where a certain bundle of nerves was accessible if one just found the right spot and had the required jaw force to break through the spine. What Haku was after though were muscles. He made use of his weight, flinging himself onto his opponent; though never let the majority of his weight shed away from his clawed paws so that the retreat could be swift.
