Most days the feather-haired luperci woke with the sun. She would rise in time to watch the deep blacks and blues of the lands change to the lighter, more pallid colors of day. This morning was much the same as the ones that had come before it, in that aspect. Dawn was her favorite time of the day. Above her head birds chirped, their tiny calls echoing back and forth between the tree branches that stretched across the path that her paws took. She could catch little bits of conversation if she concentrated and set her mind correctly; "sing! sing song! food! find food today!", "worm, worm, worm"

Lotus was still snoozing back in the den, as far as she knew. Her young son didn't often wake up at the same time as she did, choosing a later hour to rise, so she did not expect for him to need food for a few hours at the least. He was old enough to begin to learn how to hunt, if he was willing. She would attempt that sometime in the next week or so, perhaps. The warrior had shown the pup her weapons and had explained their use, but Lotus hadn't seemed to like them very much. In fact, he had very nearly begun to cry and she had ended up giving in to his pleas to do something else. She had never known a child quite like him.

Ember was headed toward the border on this day. She carried her normal belt of weapons around her waist but had added something new to the mix--a pair of wire cutters. She had chosen to go without her cloak on this morning, deciding that it would probably get too warm to use it. Over one shoulder was a coil of fencing that she had brought back from the city. There was a big gap in the northern part of the fence, if she was remembering things right, and today was as good a day as any to fix it up good.

J <3's J --This would be after his battle thread in Dahlia where he sets the mother ablaze. Our tables are complete opposites. xP +3

He needed attention. He craved it. He found himself on the back of his steed, heading out of Inferni territory and in the direction of Halifax at first, but at about half way there, the male had turned the beast towards the lands of none other than the steed's home before Inferni. He was heading towards Aniwaya. He hadn't seen his customer that had given him the horse in quite some time, and he wanted to show her how well the stallion was doing in Inferni, and to let her know that he was fine, even though he had two scars that were not present when he had seen the woman last. One was vertical along his right shoulder to the bottom of his ribcage. The other was horizontal on the middle of his back. It had been a good week or two, and he had been healed by now, the scars being placed as partially scars and partially scab, still within the transition.

Cotl had lead the horse to the place he had wandered through what seemed like so long ago. He was sure actually that the woman's piercings were all healed by now actually. Well...Maybe the industrial was still healing, but most everything else should have been done. The rust male still had been in pain with the wounds he had still, his hand being the worst since it kept on opening and he almost was afraid for it to heal. Afraid that he would fuck it all up again and it would just happen again and again. He snarled as he thought about it and he tapped on the steed's side as he commanded to hurry the pace up. He could hear the bottles of whiskey in hi backpack clang together as the horse picked up the pace from a walk to a brisk trot. Cotl wasn't in enough of a hurry to make the horse gallop, so he didn't.

Cotl had soon approached the boarders of Aniwaya, not long after sun rise (why he had left before sunrise was beyond him, but perhaps he just wanted to be the first person to see the woman, so he wouldn't have to wait for her to deal with someone else) and was his timing just perfect, because there the ebon woman was, walking with tools around her waist and a wire fencing on her shoulders. The horse let out a whinny to it's previous owner as the horse excitedly approached across the boarders and to the woman, all against Cotl's orders, but he gave up, figuring that there was no stopping the beast. Ember! -NYEH- how ist you? It has been avhile, ja? the german spoke to the woman, a small smile playing on the Imaginifer's face. Aniwaya looks gut, zhere has been no damage from Inferni or Dahlia, ja? the male asked the woman, trusting that they had been safe even though there was a war not too east from their own borders.

She moved as swiftly and silently as she normally did, making her way quietly through the lush green vegetation that was beginning to pop up as the lands warmed with the coming of spring. There were no crackling leaves or crunching snow any more to give her away. She could tell that the seasons were shifting now because of the absence of snow or ice and because of the rising temperatures. Also, the days seemed to get a bit longer now that winter was over.

A light breeze swept her long, straight black hair to and fro, the beads hitting each other with light clicking sound as she went. This wasn't a hunt or a pack ceremony or an event in which she felt silence was particularly needed...so she had left her locks unbound. Ember had always liked the feel of the wind in her hair.

She reached the area of the fence that needed the patching and examined it in the growing light. It looked like it had rusted or something; the fence was broken, yes, but it didn't look like it had been cut by anything. They would need every part of the fence if they were going to keep the cattle or horses in, once they became more free roaming. The herd was growing nicely, the equine's population nearly double what it had been when she had first brought them to AniWaya. They were already running out of room in the stables and barn for all of the beasts.

She was about to set her coil of wire down when she heard the whinny. Her head came up quickly and she dropped the coil quickly, hand going to the hilt of her sword. She took a defensive stance, unsure of where the sound had come from, her body moving of its own accord into the familiar posture. Pale green eyes searched over the stretch of lands immediately surrounding her, looking for signs of movement.

It was then that they came into view. She recognized the other easily as Cotl, the male who had given her the piercings and to whom she had traded a horse. The horse she recognized as well. It seemed eager to come to her but she didn't mind this; Cotl was one who she considered to be a friend, though they had only seen each other a few times. She spoke in low tones to the horse as it neared, greeting it first in its own language, then looking up to its rider.

"It feels like ages since I've seen you. Thanks for the compliment on AniWaya...how is Inferni? Is there still fighting going on in places?" She asked, patting the horse gently. It took her a moment to realize that Cotl had probably been in the fight himself, and she cleared her throat to speak again quickly. "Did you get hurt? I mean I see yer still here and all..but no, no one here got hurt, and no land was damaged that I know of."

It feels like ages since I've seen you. Thanks for the compliment on AniWaya...how is Inferni? Is there still fighting going on in places? the woman spoke to him as the two had approached and gotten settled in a spot. Cotl thought about dismounting the horse for a second, but found that he couldn't dismount for a reason unknown to him. He just didn't feel like it was the best time. A lot has happened since de last time. he commented for a second before he had thought about the second question. The war had not seen much of him, though he had been in two fights since the war broke out. Both fights had ended up in him injured, only a few little scars here and there, though the largest had to be the one on his chest and side. Ja, dhere ist still some fighting, but nicht too bad. Ve have lost a lot of our ranks, but ve are still strong as ever. Cotl answered, his neck twitching his head to the right and a NYEH sound coming from his throat. Part of Inferni vas burned down. But dhe same...Happened to part of Dahlia. the male couldn't help but let a sadist grin spread across his demented little maw, knowing that he was part of the reason.. Mostly the reason that things were set ablaze. Sure, Gabriel had been the one to set Haku's cabin on fire, but the rest...The rest was of the crazy little shithead that had come before her.

Maschine had nickered lightly to the woman, a greeting to her, knowing that she could understand him since she too had cooed in his own language. Ember! Do you like the tattoo that Cotl gave to me? Isn't it cool? the horse asked the woman. Cotl knew not of the small conversation going on between the two, simply because he was never taught low speech, nor did he know that there was such thing as it. Did you get hurt? I mean I see yer still here and all..but no, no one here got hurt, and no land was damaged that I know of. Cotl couldn't help but let a smile pass his lips. She was worried about him and his wellfare. It was odd, coming from someone else besides his stupid brother, and he liked the feeling. -FUCK- Ja, I'm fine. Ich did get hurt ein few times, but I made ein fast recovery. the male spoke to the woman, nodding his head lightly. It ist gut dat Aniwaya vas nicht affected.-SCHEISS- Ich vould have to have ein issues with Inferni eef dhey came out here und bothered you. the male spoke, serious that he would have major problems with the Infernians causing troubles out where his Ember was located at.

Anyways, I came out for ein drink-NYEH-, und to check up on your piercings and de pack. Vill du join mich for some vhiskey? the male asked, his left hand touching the bag that was on his side, but not before his throat cleared almost violently.

:3 dude, he should teach Ember some random German. And she can explain lowspeech or something while they drink? :o and we can play that Lotus has taken off somewhere by the time they get back :3

The girl had scars of her own from fights that she'd had in the past. She had a few smaller scars that ran lengthwise up and down her arm around the area that her arm had been broken in. The bone had been so badly snapped that it had gone up through the skin, sticking out. It had taken a very long time to mend, and the female still felt aches from it every now and again. The only other notable mar on her sleek black fur was a knot-like scar below the left side of her collarbone that webbed down toward her left breast. She had gotten that from her fight with Hybrid, where the mutt had seemingly attempted to rip her heart clean out of her chest.

"Yes it has" She agreed, still stroking her fingers over the horse's short coat. She really did love horses. Her own Bayard had requested to stick around the village area today, offering to meet her later to give her a ride back, so that he might try once again to catch the attention of one of the mares in the herd. It made Ember wonder about springtime silliness; it seemed that animals were pairing off everywhere, right and left.

"Good to hear. I'm not sure how I feel about it...with havin' friends in one and some family in the other. At least, I think my niece still lives there. Not sure. I never see the girl." A frown had crossed the warrior's normally tranquil, serious face for a moment at that thought, but it was replaced rather quickly by a smile when the horse spoke to her. "It's very nice indeed" She whispered softly, putting her head down to bump noses gently with the equine.

She nodded at his mention of a fast recovery. He did look like he was doing well, riding all the way to AniWaya on horseback like he had. She was surprised when he said that he had come to drink with her, however; she had only partaken in drinking alcohol a few times in her life. It had been fun, though, from what she could remember. The bit about him having issues with anyone having bothered AniWaya did not miss her ears, either, and she looked up from the horse. "That's really sweet, actually. There aren't many warriors here, and I doubt I could have held off an entire clan myself if they had tried to attack us. I would have tried, though. I would protect my tribe down to my last breath." she said seriously.

It was then that she heard a sound from behind her. The Danua Ihesdi's gaze immediately found the origin of what she had heard, though, the form of her large brown and white painted stallion coming toward her through the brush. "So it seems that things didn't work out this time for ya, huh?" She said to him in a soft tone. Her voice hid laughter, but her face stayed in the same expression. Bayard reached them and whinnied in return, shaking his mane a bit. "No, and thank you for reminding me of it. I thought I would keep you company while you fixed the fence. But perhaps not, if this is how I'll be treated. I've gone through enough today already" He said.

She cleared her throat then and turned away from him and back to Cotl. "I'd love to take you up on that offer. Bayard can carry me back. I'll leave this fencing here...maybe someone else will come along and fix it up. That or it'll still be here tomorrow or the day after for me to take care of. I'm not sure if my son will be home, but if he is then I would prefer to drink somewhere other than my den." She said, reaching back to pat Bayard's neck as she spoke. "I adopted a boy a few weeks ago, a child that my sister said that she could not care for any more."

hehe, He should teach her some german <3; and that sounds great. You can pp them going if you want. +5

Yes, it has the woman spoke. Cotl silently agreed though didn't forget to add a twitch in there of his left ear. Maschine didn't have the problem of going out and finding a mate, simply because he never wandered too far from the mansion, or Cotl, and also, there were no mares that he could case for in Inferni. Many of the Yotes were too proud to ride a horse, or too scared to, or whatever. Good to hear. I'm not sure how I feel about it...with havin' friends in one and some family in the other. At least, I think my niece still lives there. Not sure. I never see the girl. the woman went on to speak. I know no one in Dahlia. Dey vronged Inferni, und anyone vho gets in mein vay has to go down.-NYEH- the male spoke, point blank. If I kann avoid killing your family, I vill try. he added on. This was war, and he had a duty to protect his pack, if the woman that she is talking about just happened to be attacking the Inferni borders like an idiot, (oh, especially the borders because if was Cotl's job to make sure the borders were all pretty and what not.) then he would have no choice but to defend his territory and kill whoever destroyed his borders.

It's very nice indeed the woman spoke to the equine. The stallion let out a nicker of approval at the woman. Thanks. I thought so too! How's the herd? Do they miss me? the stallion asked before the woman went and bumped noses with the equine and then continued to speak with Cotl. That's really sweet, actually. There aren't many warriors here, and I doubt I could have held off an entire clan myself if they had tried to attack us. I would have tried, though. I would protect my tribe down to my last breath she spoke. Cotl couldn't help but let a smile flash across his face. Ich kann get protective. Dey vould have no reason to bother you, und Ich vould join your side vithout ein problem. the male spoke, a violent clearing of his throat. Would he really be that quick to change sides for the woman? Did he hold that much faith within Aniwaya? Cotl would probably take her side just because it would be unfair for Inferni to pick on Aniwaya when they were allies with the peaceful tribe of wolvens that laid so far to the west of Inferni. In other words, Inferni had bigger fish to fry. Though, Cotl would not rule out Aniwaya just yet. They had horses, and were more efficient right now more so than Inferni, the yote clan being nothing but a bunch of muscle heads right now instead of ones concerned with growing food and whatnot. (though to his knowledge, his brother was helping Anselm and a few others work on a green house for such to happen.)

It would seem that everyone went to attention at the approach of another horse, Ember's horse, Bayard. Cotl had met the steed once before, and Maschine dozens. Maschine let out a whinny to the other equine in a greeting to the other male. Maschine knew that it was probably time for the herd to be paired off, but didn't bother to ask about how that was going. It's nice to see you again Bayard! the horse sent off into the direction of the other steed. I'd love to take you up on that offer. Bayard can carry me back. I'll leave this fencing here...maybe someone else will come along and fix it up. That or it'll still be here tomorrow or the day after for me to take care of. I'm not sure if my son will be home, but if he is then I would prefer to drink somewhere other than my den. the woman then spoke. Cotl nodded his head and a -NYEH- sound came from his throat. I adopted a boy a few weeks ago, a child that my sister said that she could not care for any more. the woman continued on. Oh? Ich should meet him sometime.-COCK MONKEYS- It's nice of you to do dat, adopt a kid. Ich vould if Ich vas more suited for it. the male spoke, motioning at the whole cursing thing, and the part of him that was still weird about kids. He still was socially awkward, he probably always would be.

OK :O you can PP them going in, if you wantz

She was glad that she had done it to begin with, that she had found the herd of horses and captured a few of them. They had been pretty wild at the time, and some still were, but if there were any that didn't really adjust to captive living then she would return them to the wild as soon as she could. Ember wanted to use some of them for breeding before she released them, though. She had seen some good qualities in a few of the wilder horses, despite their attitudes.

"Eh..thank ya. I appreciate it. I'd try to avoid killin' you too, Cotl. I like to think we got some kind've a friendship goin' on" She grinned, joking around with him a bit. As they began to walk, she answered Maschine. "They do. I'll let you and Bayard catch up as we head back." The stallion nodded his head in agreement.

They continued the conversation as they made their way toward her spacious den. Ember had chosen to dig her den in between the roots of a large tree, for protection from the rain and elements, and had expanded it several times as she had gotten more items and as she had gained a family member. It was now tall enough for her to stand up in, and had four different back rooms to it. Lotus' was the closest to the front of the den, just off to the right, and her own was farther back, through the main room. The walls of the den were lined with stones and she had constructed a few shelves for the main living area. In the middle was a fireplace that she usually kept going, to drive the cold away, inside of a ring of stones.

It was somewhat primitive compared to the houses and other buildings that AniWaya had, but she liked it. Ember didn't like to be bothered when she got into certain moods, and the den was far off of the beaten path. "You might get to see him today, if he's here...Lotus?" She dismounted and called into the den. No answer. "Or maybe not. He must be off seein' someone. He's pretty social." She patted Bayard a bit. "If you wanna head back to the stable you can, or hang around. Up to you" She said to the horse.

sorry for the wait Dx +5

Eh..thank ya. I appreciate it. I'd try to avoid killin' you too, Cotl. I like to think we got some kind've a friendship goin' on. the woman spoke to him. Cotl gave a chuckle to the woman. Gut, it ist nice to have friendships. Dere veren't many vho vere villing to mein friend back in Deutschland. the male responded, his eyes wandering over to her and her body. He didn't have any friends of his own, his brother always bringing home these friends to him, like he was supposed to like all of these people. Cotl had met people, sometimes, and most of the time he would barely talk to them, and he often wouldn't see one person more than once unless they were a returning customer (he had only three of these) or if they were dragged back to the devil child's cave by the angel boy.

They do. I'll let you and Bayard catch up as we head back. the woman spoke to Maschine. The stallion nickered and nodded his massive head to the woman in response, his blue eyes returning to the road ahead of them, his ears pointing forward as well as the beast had carried his rider, one foot thumping on the grass after another. The conversations did not end though, and soon enough they were approaching the den, dug into the ground. Cotl, being from Germany, never had a hole in the ground. He never had a den like this, only a cave at one point, and then a ship, and then a house. This hole was interesting to Cotl, and he was curious enough to cock his head to the right, and his throat cleared itself before he saw the woman dismount her horse. He followed soon after, making sure he wouldn't break any bottles or anything on the jump down to the ground. He jumped down and walked behind the woman for a second before he took a few extra long steps to catch up. You might get to see him today, if he's here...Lotus? the fae spoke to him, then the air, to see if her son was around. A minute went by, and no answer. Or maybe not. He must be off seein' someone. He's pretty social she went on. Cotl shrugged. Kinder. the word was followed by the NYEH sound he was 'oh so famous' for. This word he spoke was the German word for "children", so the tone of the male's voice followed a sarcastic tone, though not in a rude way. It was a more of "that's typical" sarcasm.

Maschine had heard the woman talk to Bayard, and the stallion looked to Bayard, trying to figure out if he was going to stay or go. Maschine had to stay close, for he knew that his master would be looking for him sooner or later to head back to Inferni, though he did plan on nibbling on some of the grasses around the area, and to relax until Cotl found it time to leave again.

The woman led Cotl into the hole, in which Cotl instantly looked around curiously at how roomy and spacious it was. How long did dis -FICK-place take to make? Cotl asked, cocking his head to the woman.

She didn't often drink and wasn't sure if this was a normal thing to do at this time of the day. All that she knew was that it sounded like a lot of fun...she had enjoyed Cotl's company the last times that she had seen him, and thought that they would have a good time together. "Really? What were things like there? I've always lived here...in some pack or another. AniWaya is the one I've been in the longest, my real and true home. What brought you to Inferni?"She asked.

As they went down into the large den she looked back at him. What did Kinder mean? Ember thought to ask, but decided against it. She went to the side of the room, picking up a few sticks and tossing them into the fire. It burned all the warmer. "A week or two, actually. I tried to dig every day. I dug it in around the roots o'this tree because it provides some stability. You don't live in a den back in Inferni? She asked, sitting down next to the flames.

You ninja posted me!

Really? What were things like there? I've always lived here...in some pack or another. AniWaya is the one I've been in the longest, my real and true home. What brought you to Inferni? the woman asked him. Cotl twisted his face into a small frown as he had remembered the time in his homeland. How he could pride himself in where he came from was always a mystery even to himself, but maybe it was just because it was the only place he ever had been in for the longest, and he was born there as well, so he had some kind of connection to the place. The male let his hand run through his long black hair. Mein condition got me sent into ein cave for months. I used to sneak out to hunt, but das was it. Mein -FAGGOT- brother would sneak people over to visit me too. But it vasn't better dhan here. Ich had to escape dat place, so I ran away, and ended up here.-FUCKING CUNTFACE- Inferni is ein yote clan. I vould never fit in vith a bunch or volves. No offense to you and your pack. the male made sure to not make offense come to the woman and her pack, since he was friends with her, and some other wolves. He just wouldn't feel like he was significant in the land of giants. Inferni was already a bunch of giants, so he could imagine a wolf pack.

A week or two, actually. I tried to dig every day. I dug it in around the roots o'this tree because it provides some stability. You don't live in a den back in Inferni? she went on to reply to his own question as to how long the den took her to make. Cotl himself wasn't much of a digger. I have ein room. Dere ist ein mansion on Inferni grounds, -NYEH-und I stay in dere. the male responded. He then went on. Even back in Deutschland, -BLOOP- I vas in ein cave, or in ein building. Mein family veren't big diggers, I guess. the male spoke as he watched the woman sit down. He too decided that he would sit down, but before he had done so, he had reached into the bag that was on his hip. He took out the two bottles of whiskey he had in there and he handed one of them over to his friend before he sat down in front of her and twisted open his bottle cap on his bottle.

Cheers. the male spoke to the woman, a smile reforming on his face as he held the bottle up to her, hoping she knew what cheers meant and she would clang the bottles together. If not, then he could always teach her what cheers meant.

She felt good about Cotl being there in her den. Ember didn't bring wolves down into her den very often, especially with Lotus living there, but she felt like she had at least a tiny connection with the Inferni male. Perhaps it was because of the fact that he was a warrior, that he had fought for his lands and what he believed in. She respected the fact that he had survived and was still alive to tell her about it.

"No offense taken. I doubt I could live in Inferni, either, if it was an option." But he would be welcomed in AniWaya as long as she was a leader there. Even if he never thought that he would live there or would ever need refuge there.

She felt proud that she had dug her own den with her own two paws. She'd done some of the work in her optime form and some of it in her lupus, each different form being used for a different task. She would have to start it in her lupus form until she got it big enough for her larger form to fit in. She was a pretty tall girl.

A bottle was handed to her and she clinked it together with his then put it up to her lips. The stuff inside was like fire, burning her throat and making her shake her head quickly from side to side, swallowing. How strong! Was there a way to water it down or something? "You drink this stuff every day?" She asked. How could one get used to a burning like this?

In Character

No offense taken. I doubt I could live in Inferni, either, if it was an option. the woman spoke. Cotl let out a loud cackle. Volves have no rank in Inferni.-BITCHFACE- between the laughter were the words. You vould be ein outsider die vhole time. he spoke, shrugging his broad shoulders. I vould let you sleep in my room if you vere ever on die run dough. the coy-dog offered, a grin cocked on his pierced maw. Ivory fingers wrapped around his bottle as he tipped it back and into his maw. Before this, there was a clink of the bottles. The woman too, tipped the bottle back. Cotl took a swig before he swallowed the liquid and shivered as the burning went down his throat and into his stomach. His neck then proceeded to twitch.

He looked at the woman as she continued to speak after taking her first swig. You drink this stuff every day? the woman asked. Cotl chuckled again. Nein. Ich try nicht to. I mean, mein bruder und I like to drink, but it's hard to vork vehn you're too drunk to do shit. the male explained, nodding his head as he spoke. It's been avhile since I have drank. Var means I need to be alert. he wasn't supposed to be smoking as much as he did, but he felt like that if he didn't smoke, he wouldn't be able to deal with the constant tense atmosphere of the Inferni pack lands. Plus, he couldn't walk around Inferni drunk. There were traps laid out and you needed to be aware of where you were stepping at all moments, or you were going to be killed by the pack's defenses. This was the last thing that the Imaginifer wanted. He wouldn't want to be done in by his own design. That would be pathetic.

Your home is beautiful. I really do love it. the male spoke, complimenting the place. Hey, the woman was a friend, so he could be nice, yeah? Cotl had let a NYEH sound come from his maw before he twitched his arm before taking another swig of his drink.
