[P] morning eyes

With the early morning came with the early rise of the pups. Their eyes, a gray misty blue at their young age, were now wide in wonderment, and were the ever most sensitive; when the first ray fell into the room of the alphas, it was like a silent alarm for them to awake and start their new adventure of the day. Alyssum was keen to their movement as if it was her own, and when they stirred, she did as well with the patience only a mother could possess, being disturbed at such an early hour. She tucked the children into a sling that cradled the little ones close to her bosom while her hands were free to move, and enjoyed what time she had left before they grew too big and heavy for her to be able to carry them about like such.

With three, wide eyed heads poking from the bundle, the Luna exited the courthouse and strolled through the gardens behind their home. She took them there whenever the day was young, for the winter flowers and the whispering brook would fill their senses and quiet their squirming movements, though their babbling whimpers could never be silenced as they attempted to talk words they had yet to truly understand. The girls were the loudest, their gaze fixed on a squirrel that had hurried across the ground, while the small boy, pressed between the larger siblings, spoke soft mumbles as he beheld a tree whose scarlet and golden leaves stubbornly clung on. Alyssum had paused in the middle of the trail to allow the litter to look around, while one her hands absentmindedly brushed over their heads.

She took a couple of more steps, and sat herself upon one of the benches that were placed in the garden, and she, too, began to regard the garden. A couple of sweet memories of the summer were spent there, and to see it in its sharp, cool beauty was a different sight to see, and she was just as interested about it as the pups were.

ooc: :D

It was the first day that she was allowed into Casa di Cavalieri, and after settling in, she decided to look around. She wasn’t familiar with the territory and really didn’t know what was what, and whatever she found, she took in. She let her eyes pass over every detail she was able to take in. She did want to look around, right? She found a few nice buildings that she looked over while walking, and when she reached the courthouse, she paused. The scents around told her it belonged to someone and whoever that someone was, was close. Rio peered around the building to see that it had a nice backyard to it, so instead of her trespassing into this person’s house, she could just explore the back instead.

She quietly walked over to the side of the building and walked down the alleyway into the garden behind. The side of the building seemed dark and dank, but at the end it exploded into a beautiful colorful garden, even despite the cold weather approaching. She saw a female sitting there with some kind of satchel on, and the sight came to her by surprise. ”Oh!” Quickly, her hand rose to touch her chest in shock. ”I’m sorry. I hope I’m not interrupting anything.” Rio was always quick to apologize for anything. She stood in the middle of the walkway and she looked down at the female sitting before her. She noted the satchel the woman was wearing wasn’t a satchel at all; it was something to carry her pups in. When the woman looked back up at her, Rio noticed she was looking into the eyes of her uncle’s newest mate. He had mentioned her and gushed over his new pups when she spoke to him last. ”Oh, hello! I’m Rio Marino; I don’t think we’ve met? I’m a niece of Jazper’s.” The words of Aro echoed through her mind, but she ignored them. She did make sure to mention her last name now. The Marino woman dipped her head toward the woman in respect. Then she motioned with her nose toward the wide-eyed bundles of joy in her lap, ”They are beautiful.” Oh, how she wanted her own someday!

That's Our Kind of Love
She was lost in her own mind and the garden's show of its winter scene that she did not notice that she was no longer alone with just her children. It was not until the pups began to squirm did she moved her gaze away from a patch of flowers that were beginning to bloom, apparently thriving in the cool air, and looked over to what had caught their attention. While she was not entirely caught off-guard by the girl's appearance, she did feel a prickle of curiosity, since she did not appear to be someone she knew, as well as not holding the scent of her pack. Yet, she felt completely at ease, and neither did she feel suspicious of this woman's presence.

She had only noticed the dark beauty a moment after she had noticed them, though it seemed that she was surprised to see the four of them there, which the mother responded with a warm, though humored smile. Nah, you ain't botherin' anyone. We're just takin' a lil' stroll, though they seem to be enjoyin' this more than I thought they would, she responded, her tone seeking to quell any worry that she might have conjured up. She listened as she introduced herself as a relative of Jazper's, and nodded as it seemed to make sense now. She must have been either visiting her mate himself or on some other form of business. "M'name's Alyssum, but I suppose your uncle must've already told you about me. You can call me Aly.

The Luna's smile softened a bit as Rio seemed to catch the sight of her pups, who began to wiggle again as they gained the woman's attention, all three of them excited about the stranger. Are't they? she agreed, obviously never the shyer to boast about her children. This is Annabeth, Valerie, and little Alexander. Each one was aware when their name was called, looking up curiously at their mother, waiting to see if she was going to tell them something else. But, when it became evident that it was only introductions, they went back to staring at the Marino. Alyssum caught the gaze she was staring at the pups with, and felt her muzzle twist into a knowing grin. It was not long ago did she have that same stare.

You can hold 'em, if you wanna, she offered, while continuing, You have any of your own?

ooc: It's quite alright :)

It was a wondrous thing to Rio of how puppies always seemed to respond to her presence in such a curious way. All three heads popped up and craned their necks towards her direction, all trying to get a better look around their siblings’ big, floppy heads. They each earned an even bigger, warmer smile from Rio as she watched the curious little puppers in the Luna’s arms. Rio made her way over to her new aunt and sat carefully next to the woman, now that they both knew who each other was – there should have been no more awkwardness. Once she was settled beside the new mother, Rio watched the furry heads, which in turned followed her all the way there, regard her with bubbling curiosity. ”Beautiful names for such beautiful offspring.”

The Marino woman fell silent watching as the mother adjusted her wriggling babies in her arms and when she was offered to hold one of them, Rio looked up at Aly with gleaming eyes. ”Oh, Aly, if you wouldn’t mind?” The very thought had butterflies swirling in Rio’s stomach, but the good kind. She was excited to hold one of her uncle’s adorable balls of fluff in her delicate hands. She held out her arms, unsure if her aunt would give all three of them to her, or just one to hold. One would probably be a safer choice for Rio since she had never held something so delicate and so alive before. While she held her hands carefully out to Aly, she answered the question, ”No, I don’t. Not yet, anyway.” She planned for the future, and now that she had Liam, she sincerely wondered. Maybe he would be the one to give her what she wanted – a family, a safe home, and some love. It was what she needed the most.

That's Our Kind of Love
Her children had a healthy curiosity, and Alyssum found that was one of the best qualities within her young. While the two girls could be too curious at times and the boy otherwise too reserve, all three of them balanced each other out. Alexander found confidence within his sisters' boldness, while Annabeth and Valerie were more careful when their brother was with them, as if they had formed a pact between them to protect their younger sibling. It was a wonderous thing to see them looking out for each other, for she never had any siblings herself, and sometimes she pondered if other pups within the same litter shared such a closeness that she was witness to with her children.

The wondering gaze were upon the woman, whom a stranger but they were no less excited to see her if she had been someone they met before, if not more eager; she did hold a different smell than any of the others they met, and the fact must have made them intent to find out what it was. Thank you, she responded happily, looking down at the pups as the continued to stare at the woman. While Annabeth's name was somewhat special to her heart, the name being her owned by her mother and the puppies' grandmother, Valerie's and Alexander's own titles were no less endearing to the mother. But, they could have been called by any name, and she would have not loved them any less than she had then.

Alyssum's smile deepen as Rio became a little brighter as she offered for her to hold one of the pups. Of course not. They all seem eager to get to know you. But, perhaps the girls were a bit too excited; while it was harmless, they may try to bite the woman, since it was one of the things that consisted their play. As she held out her hands to take one of the pups, she decided that Alexander was the best pick. While he was just as curious as his sisters, he was more quiet and perhaps would not try to bite the woman for the sake of it. He was also the smallest, and easier to handle. With a coo, she picked up the boy from between his sibling, gently picking him up from under his arms, and transferred him over to the other.

Perhaps soon you will, she said encouragingly, though she was not sure if the woman had a mate or if she was speaking about wistful thinking about the time that may come to her. Never the less, she did hope for a kind future for Rio, seeing that the polite girl should deserve nothing less. Now the boy was in the hands of the other, and he did emit one, small whine as he felt his mother's touch leave him. But, he was quiet as he looked up at the dark woman, his large ears swiveling forward and his tail showing off a somewhat nervous wag. That's Rio, Alex, she explained to him, knowing that the children would not know that they had discussed their introductions, or at least tell that was a name and not some word they did not know about.

(363) Ooc text here.

Once the boy was transferred into her arms, Rio carefully shifted her arms, now holding the boy in them, back to her lap. His little body was stiff and nervous for the most part, but the expression in his eyes held no less curiosity than before. His little tail wagged nervously between her arms, and Rio carefully shifted him into a more stable position perched on her right arm, like how one would normally carry a ‘baby’. This way, his mother was still in his view – if not his main view – and Rio was on the side, despite her being the one carrying him.

Rio smiled down at Alexander as Alyssum tried to acquaint him with her. She told him Rio’s name and pointed, hoping to make some kind of connection between the wolfess and the boy, in his mind. Whether she would be seen as an item called ‘Rio’ or an actual being, like himself, with the name of Rio, it did not matter to her. She was in her own world now as she felt his little body in her arms. He was incredibly soft and she knew how incredulously fragile he was – and he seemed to be the smallest. A smile slowly crept onto Rio’s lips as she realized how much she wanted her own someday.

She lost her train of thought as she stared into the curious pup’s eyes, in which he looked back here and there, but his gaze was mostly on his mother searching for her reaction to all this and making sure all was well – he wouldn’t freak out unless she freaked out. When the Chevalier looked up, an even bigger smile stretched on her lips as she saw the Luna’s other two pups still looking at the sight with incredible interest. They were all so damn cute.

”Well, Alyssum, you make some beautiful children.” She took a careful finger and went to poke the young pup gently in the stomach. To just pet him, or to tickle him – however he took to it first. The last thing she wanted to do was to spook the pup into crying or wanting to wriggle out of her grasp.
