This thread started when I found some lineart on one of the free image sites I found on the Internet. It was public domain, so I decided to color it, and then thought I'd put it here. I then did this with other art I colored in, and you're free to claim these designs to use for your characters. You'll get a full size and resized reference sheet with a white background, and if you want, you can also get a transparent PNG, a resized PNG (to fit in posts or possibly as an avatar), and a PNG mugshot. I can also provide the hex codes each design's color palette uses.
These designs may be used for PCs or NPCs. You can post the claim of a design here, or send me a PM through the forum's messaging system to my OOC Dale account. New players are free to claim designs as well, and can post in this thread if you haven't been approved for the forum. If you want, you can edit the design as much as you want, once it's yours. You can claim more than one, and if you don't end up using a design, that's fine. I also give my take on what inspired each of the designs, but this shouldn't be a hard rule. These designs are meant for you to play with!

I rather like this new design I came up with. It's a blue-and-tan merle, and I think the build could suggest a collie- or retriever-type mutt. As always, if you want to claim this design for yourself, feel free.

So Inferni's one of the largest and most history-laden packs on 'Souls, right? That inspired me to make a design for a coywolf or a coywolf-dog hybrid. Then again, it could always be a really scraggly mutt that happens to pass for a coyote. Your character, your call!

Now, this design has to be one of my favorites so far. I can't get over how well this brown brindle goes with the black face marking and the setter-type coat and build. Unfortunately, there were issues with the lineart coming out jagged in the full size image, and I couldn't figure out why it was doing that.
EDIT: The setter-type design was claimed by Rina on the 16th of April, 2018!

This next design is for a piebald tricolored collie-like canine, with ticking present in the white parts. I thought this was a bit plain for the colors I picked, so to spice it up, I gave the character a nose ring. This should be pretty easy to edit out if you don't like the piercing, or want to change it.

I figured out what was causing the jagged edges. I'm going to have to go back and fix that setter-type up so the lines are antialiased. In the meantime, I have here what I think is my newest favorite design so far. The color suggests wolf heritage, but the build suggests strong dog bloodlines, so a low-content wolfdog? I don't know, the world's your oyster!
Edit: I've grown fond of this design. I think I'll claim it for myself.

Sure you can! I'll go ahead and edit into the other post that this design is no longer available. I'll send you the Imgur links for your reference, and would you like the original transparent PNG as well? I have to fix some antialiasing issues I found in the original, but I should be able to get rid of them!

Here's another design inspired by wild canine coloring. The animal referenced for this character's design was a coyote, but the build clearly resembles some sort of dog. The light parts could either be the undercoat lightening, or a dog's Irish white with some ticking. What do you guys think this character's story is?

This design is something I'm very proud of. I forgot to add the effect that makes each patch of color look like blending fur, but that doesn't matter. It still came out great, in my mind, and I found a lineart that compliments coyote-inspired colors in the process!

Now, maybe this design is a little plain. Maybe it's not. Still, I loved the lineart/vector I found, and honestly? I love how sharp the color scheme is. Here's a chocolate-and-light-tan point retriever/pitbull-type character for you all, with brindling and Irish white markings.

Another simple design, but I love how the brindling turned out on this one. This design in particular is a piebald blue brindle, with a build that suggests either pittie or bull terrier heritage.

This next design is inspired by the Sulimov dog, which is a low-content dog-jackal hybrid bred for police work. This design could work for any wolfdog, wolf or wolf hybrid, or maybe a descendant of a jackal mixed with husky-type dogs. But these are just suggestions, and please, feel free to have fun with this design!
