I'll send you a PM as soon as I can. I also sent a PM to your Iorek account about the other design you claimed, in case you were wondering about that one, too!

Yet another design I'm very happy and pleased with. This spaniel-type design has a color scheme inspired by wolves and Norwegian Elkhounds. What's the story behind such an odd combination? Up to you!

These are gorgeous! I don't have a need for any of them but I wanted to tell you!

Now, this next design is another bit of an odd combo. I'm thinking it could belong to some low-content coyote mutt, the kind that is close to or just over the lineage limits necessary to enter Inferni. Again, this is your decision, and you might have an entirely different idea in mind for this design. Edit: Claimed by Silverfrost on 17th July, 2018!

Your designs are beautiful and very creative!
Also, I have a question, where do you get the clipart/lineart from?
25 April 2018, 04:59 PM
Iorek Wrote:Your designs are beautiful and very creative! Openclipart.org and Pixabay.com. They have a wide variety of lineart and vectors to get creative with. It's just a matter of editing out any holes in the lineart, since a lot of them are scanned from public domain woodcuts.

Love, love your designs! I hope some of these lovelies get players so we can see some more doggos running around

Luca Knight Wrote:Love, love your designs! I hope some of these lovelies get players so we can see some more doggos running around Thank you very much for the compliment! I hope to see more dog characters as well. This being said, I don't mind if someone wants to take a design or two for NPCs. I've already had a couple of people ask to claim a design for this purpose, and I'm happy to oblige.

Another design I really like, this is some kind of pointer- or retriever-type mix. It's a cream brindle with an isabella saddle, blue mask, and minimal white.

I posted a few updates in the original post about the designs. It's nothing major, just clarifying a few things!

I'm working on some new designs to put up here, specifically jackals and jackal hybrids. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to grab some pixel templates from the Wiki and an avatar by Kiri? There is less art out there to color in for jackals. There are a couple of templates that sparked my interest in the Kiritar thread and on the pixel page.
I want to make sure I'm not posting too many designs here. I'm taking a break from dogs because I think I have enough dogs or grabs, but I want to keep putting up stuff.

I think using pixels from the wiki is fine since it's for everyone to use~ There's also linearts and templates on Deviantart as well as on the Templates forum that you can use, as well as the Kiritars~
Excited to see your jackal and jackal hybrid designs! (I could also draw up some jackal lineart if you want?)

I think it would be a swell addition to the template forum if you provided it. Jackals are such a fascinating species, it's a shame they don't get more attention in stories and media. They're the Old World equivalent of coyotes, after all.

I love jackals and love seeing them in 'Souls! I can whip up a couple of different styles and will probably post them today or tomorrow~ <3

Wonderful! Thank you for help!
I decided to do a combination of a Kiritar and matching pixels as a quick project. One of the puppy avatars strongly reminded of what a full grown jackal's mugshot looks like. The species I had in mind was a side-striped jackal, the least aggressive species of jackal. This shy creature lives in the forests of Eastern and Central Africa, though you can always give the character a different home. Maybe it's a jackal cross, or not even a jackal at all! It's all up to you. Edit: Claimed by me for an adoptable.

I made some more updates to the original post! I clarified that new players are free to claim a design from this thread, and that you can either post here or PM me to claim something.
5 May 2018, 09:26 PM
Here is the next design. It's based on a golden jackal, but it could easily be a jackal hybrid. It's up to you.

Another update to the original post. If you have claimed a design from me or want to claim a design, I'll also provide pixel icons using the character pixel templates! I'll be going back and adding them to designs that haven't been claimed yet. If you want a pixel set and have claimed a design from me, post here or PM me and I'll see what I can do!
Edit: I also realized that the side-striped jackal has no male pixel icon. The design wasn't supposed to be exclusively female, so I'll go back and add that in if someone wants to play a guy with that design.

I will admit: this one was a bit rushed. I became frustrated with the design towards the end, so there are jagged edges I have to correct. Pixels for this one will come later, as soon as I finish playing around with the pixel templates to get something that fits this animal's body shape.
Here we have a Afghan Hound-type design with a mysterious pendant. They are supposed to be a light chocolate with cream points, minimal Irish, and a barely noticeable amount of ticking. The pendant is made of a corked bottle full of green matter - perhaps plants or herbs - hanging from a leather cord. Who is this hound? Are they some sort of shaman? A healer, perhaps? Do they make talismans or craft special items? Perhaps it's a simple trinket they picked up on their journey. Perhaps it's a fashion statement. Perhaps it means nothing at all. The story is up to you! Edit: Claimed by me for an adoptable.

Dogmeat Wrote:Wonderful! Thank you for help! A quick update, but the side-striped jackal design now has a male and female optime pixel! That way you have a reference for whatever gender you decide this character is.
11 May 2018, 09:45 PM
Taking a break from my jackal and jackal hybrid designs, I went back to dog-type designs for this character. There is something called a "black" or "reverse" brindle, in which the striping is so heavy only streaks of base color can be seen. The base color can be so covered that it looks more like speckles. This character is an example of an extreme black brindle, with a type that's very strongly Border Collie. Perhaps Border Collie with a touch of wolf, but again, this is your character and these are a couple of ideas.
I have included a male and female Optime option, in case you prefer one gender or the other. EDIT: Claimed by Dread on the 12th of May, 2018!

I would love to use the border collie looking one. c: Can I have? ^^

Here we have a melanistic coyjackal-type hybrid (though it could be any sort of jackal hybrid). It's another combination of pixels and a Kiritar, a quick project to pop out while I work on more complex designs. Might be good for an Inferni character, especially as I'm guessing that there's enough coyote blood to fit pack requirements. Again, the backstory's up to you!
