You need a taste of your own medicine

Till needed all hands on deck for the hunt that he was planning, and that did not only mean Spartacus, for this had been his favorite of his sons to hunt with. He had called for the Ulrich sons to come to his home, with their horses with them. He would only need two horses for what he needed to get done, but he was unsure if some of his sons would be opposed to hunting in their lower forms, so he made sure to just tell them all to bring their mounts.

While he had waited for his sons to arrive, he sat within his home and braided his own hair for the first time in a long time. He then wrapped the braid in the back of his head to where it made a spiral on the back of his head. It was a rather girlish hairstyle, but it served the purpose of keeping his hair out of his eyes for the hunt that they were about to endure. He found himself moving to go to his office to review his plans more carefully, even though he had been going over this map for weeks now, trying to make sure he assessed all of his sons' attributes and placing them in the right jobs for the large hunt.

He had made maps, and he went over them multiple times as he sat within his Office, a different map for an alternative plan, in case the herd was smaller than anticipated, or if they were in a different area since the blizzard had shifted the herds' winter patterns a bit. Till's youngest son, Raito had come into his office, in his optime form and he put his hand through his dark gray hair as he looked to his father's work and hummed lightly.

Is this what you called my brothers for? Raito asked curiously as he looked at the map that was coded but easy to read for the youth, for he had worked with his father quite a bit on maps in the recent days.

Yeah, we are going on a massive hunt today, and I needed to be ready for just about anything. Till explained to his son as his eyes flicked up at the boy, dangerously, for there had been this underlying feeling that he got every time he looked at the boy. He never said it, never hinted at what he truly wanted to do to the boy, but it was there, and he swallowed hard every time he saw the boy and his long angular face.

Which one is me?
This one, you are going to be a herder.
What if I wanted to be an archer?
Spartacus is more suited —
Spartacus is a better runner than me.
Spartacus is better than you at a lot of things. Till's words were growled, and he looked at the boy with deep cosmic eyes that seem to swirl angrily.
Why don't you let Spartacus decide what he wants to do then? the boy snapped back at his father, and Till balled up his fist and slammed it on the table as he snarled and turned his eyes on the boy again.
Didn't I just tell you that this is my hunt?
No, you said it was "a" hunt.
If you don't get your smart ass fucking mouth out of my Office right now.
Whatever, I'll go see who gets home first. Raito spoke with a wave of his hand and he walked out of the Office and down the stairs.

Sometimes, Till really wanted to murder that boy, but how would it look if not only the man's borzoi slave had one day "randomly died in her sleep" but also his son died the same way? Till would have to get creative if he was going to murder the boy who looked too much like his mother.

Till had continued to look over the maps until he had heard the arrival of quite a few of his sons. He had definitely heard the arrival of at least Spartacus, and Coaxoch. Dirge would be the only other son they were waiting on, and it was not a surprise that he was the last to show up, for the boy often did have other things going on in which he had to finish up before he came to a summons. He always was late, and if the male was ever early for something, then it was likely because something was wrong.

Till gathered the maps and headed down stairs, where all but one of his sons lingered in the kitchen/living area.

We need to wait for Dirge before we begin, but I will at least tell you that we are going for a hunt, boys, and I will need at least three of you to shift down into your secui forms. At the request of Raito, we wanted to ask who would be willing to be a herder, and whom an archer. he spoke, knowing that there was no way that Coaxoch could be an archer, though the boy had been quite skilled with a spear, though often times, using a spear meant that you had to get a lot closer than needed for a flying arrow. Still, if the eldest had been interested in being an "archer" instead of a herder, Till could adjust some of the plans to include that, he though.

We will wait until our late party comes to attendance before we decide anything though. Till's cold eyes looked to Raito's red and yellow ones and he cocked a pale brow at the youngest son of his while he waited in silence. His sons continued to converse amongst themselves though, and Till listened in on their conversations.

OOC - Bleepbloop WC: 504

I am forever

His father had never really called them like this before, aside from when the core had been called to announce to them that they were no longer children of Helena and Calla. Understandably, Coaxoch had some anxiety bubble up in his chest when he had been called, along with Dirge, Raito, and Spartacus. They were the core sons of the family now, with Mekhl and Chester gone in Portland, along with his younger sister, Priya. He missed his other three siblings, but he knew that they were holding down the fort in Portland as representatives of the Ulrich clan over there. Coaxoch would not lie, for if his sister did not live in Portland, he would not have the connections with the merchants that were there. He would be lost, for he would not have the seeds and plants that he would need for spring and summer when he could start working on his potions and poisons a lot more than the depth of Winter, when he had no choice but to spend his time traveling to and from lands beyond as well as hunt and provide for his small family.

His father's call had told him to bring a steed, so he had tacked Nightmare up, and he had waited for some time for Dirge to hurry up and get ready but there was something holding him up, so Coaxoch decided to go on without him. Coax rode the horse rather hard through the deep snow, and by the time he had gotten to the Old Wall, Nightmare was too tired to ride for awhile. Coaxoch dismounted his horse and hitched the hitch outside of the Cabin and he found himself greeted by his youngest sibling, who had a rather sour look on his face.

"What's with the face?"
"Father is in a bad mood."
"Is it because of what he called us here for today?" Coaxoch asked his youngest sibling, wondering if he had any insight as to why they had been called.
"Yes and no. He is gathering us to do a family hunt. You know how he is with his maps and plans. I asked him if I had to be a herder, and he got pissy with me."
"Well that's more of your fault than his. You should know better than to try and mess with his plans."
"Don't rub it in."

Coaxoch and Raito made their way inside while they waited for their brothers to show up and their father to come down from his Office. They chattered for a little bit until they had seen the second youngest generation of Till's sons had come through the door, looking disheveled and like he had just woken up from a hard night out at the bar.

"Why do you look like you were chewed up and spit out by a swamp creature?" Coaxoch asked, wondering why his brother looked like he got beat up by a bunch of goons before he had gotten there.

OOC - I'm a nerd WC: 539

I'll devote myself to this new love

The male had been just heading back in from a particularly hard day out at Training with Tora, and he was already sick and tired of being smacked around. He slightly regretted even signing up for such a beating, but he did need someone who was going to consistently be available to show up to train him in the way of the sword that was not as informal as both Indra's and Greed's styles were. Tora had a regality to his style that was remnant of the actual Japanese fighting techniques while also being able to be informal enough to help him in a real fight, but also not disrespect the Kantana and it's roots. It was something that he was enjoying, even though he had come home quite a few times looking like he had been beaten the crap out of because, let's face it, he had been beat up.

The difference was that he signed up for this. Unfortunately.

The minute that he and Jun had made it back within Salsola territory, his father's coyote-like howls had called him and his brothers. He, too, had a moment where he wondered exactly what was going on, and he almost thought to just not show up because he didn't want to deal with his father's drama after being beaten up so hard today. He sighed though, for he wouldn't have anywhere else to really go if everyone was going to be at his house. He sighed and rode Jun hard until he had gotten to the Old Wall, where he dismounted, hitched the mare to their hitching post, and he ran his hands through his hair, putting half of it in a messy bun and then trying to clear the dirt from himself before he walked into the door.

His brother's both looked at him as if he looked like a disaster, and Spartacus scoffed and folded his hands across his chest.

"Why do you look like you were chewed up and spit out by a swamp creature?"

"Why don't you just mind your own business, tripawd?" he retorted to his eldest brother, and then looked to his younger brother. "What does dad want this time, Raito?" he asked but only slightly before he had felt a backhand come across his cheek and he yelped in surprise.

"The fuck?!" he growled as he put his hand to his cheek and looked at his older brother.

"Maybe next time you will watch your little shitty fucking mouth." Coaxoch retorted, and Spartacus did nothing but mumble something under his breath as he took a few steps away from his two brothers and he watched as his father had finally come down stairs and started to explain what they were here for, but that they were going to also wait for Dirge before he got into the meat of the discussion. Spartacus sighed lightly and adjusted his weight on his legs, then leaned against a pole with his shoulder touching the old wood pillar.

"What's takin him anyways, Coaxoch?" he asked his brother as he looked at him with his bright red eyes staring daggers into the Eldest Ulrich son.

You need a taste of your own medicine

What makes you think I know what is taking him?
He does live with you now, did ya' forget about that?
Yeah but I'm not his fucking keeper. Coaxoch retorted the very second that Spartacus had given him the smart mouthed answer.
You're right, you'd be a pretty shitty keeper, being a fuckin' tripawd. Can't even hold a bow.
I can hold that sword better than you can, ya little entitled prick. the growl rumbled in Coax's chest as he took a step toward his little brother and he threatened to grab the sword from his waist.
I dare you to take my sword. Watch me beat your ass with it's sheath.
I dare you to even try.

The bickering was getting pretty annoying to Till as he sat there silently watching the two go back and forth while Raito sat off to the side, unwilling to get involved with his two much more aggressive brothers. He had noticed that Spartacus had been getting increasingly aggressive lately, and he wondered if it was because he was coming into his age soon. He had already started to bulk up, even more so than some of his other siblings had when they had come to their age, but Spartacus didn't seem to be getting as tall as the tripod and the Red Witch's son, for Coaxoch was an oddity and Dirge had his Trombetta blood to thank for the boosted height that he had over his smaller, albeit more coyote-contented brothers. Till cleared his throat loudly as he sat there and he started to tap his finger on the table he sat at, which had called a cat to him, on accident. The feline had brushed against Till's hand, and Till pet the cat absently while his eyes looked at the silly children. It seemed that Coaxoch had picked up on the subtle clearing of his father's throat and he backed off from wanting to pummel his little brother into the ground. The glare that Till passed to Coaxoch would tell him to also try nothing funny when they were hunting later, for he knew how Coaxoch could get sometimes.

I think that Coaxoch and Spartacus should be the herders for this hunt.

Like fucking hell, I'm not being a herder with this dickhead after all of that.
I'm better at shooting a bow than I am —
If you finish that sentence I will cut your dick off.
You should herd, Spartacus. You like to run. Raito insisted to his brother as he held a hand out and nodded lightly to the other, a wide grin appearing on Raito's maw as he looked at the other Borzoi male, trying to be convincing to his older brother.
Spartacus grabbed Raito by his pretty little shirt, and he pulled the male closer to where their faces were only inches apart. Listen, lil bitch. I've had a hard morning. I'm not running.

The small chitter chatter of the boys had been interrupted by the father for a moment,, and once they had gone back to arguing amongst themselves about who should take what role— even before the Red Witch's son had made it there— Till started to find himself getting very annoyed at the chemistry between the boys. Even Coaxoch had gotten a little handsy with his younger brother, and Till had never taught them to fight amongst themselves as they had now, and it was honestly so tiring to the older male that he almost wasn't going to let them choose what positions in his hunt that they would take.

Will you dumbasses shut up for just two fucking seconds? he growled as his boys had finally stopped and looked at their father, whom had suddenly gotten up from his throne and he looked at each of his boys. Each of them put their ears down on their heads as if they were little puppies once again and they had gotten in trouble. They were getting super annoying to Till, and he was beginning to wonder if this was even a good idea. It's obviously a mistake for me to let you guys choose, so never mind, we are going with my original plan. he told the boys as he looked at them, and then his cosmic eyes turned back to the door that was behind the three boys, as it had suddenly opened and a figure walked into the room.

Finally—
Sorry that I'm late, Father, I had a hair appointment that took a bit longer than expected. Dirge was apologetic and he bowed deeply to the Ranger Apprentice as he huffed lightly. Dirge righted himself and looked at his brothers who looked like they were getting a pretty bad scolding. The silver and brown haired male put his gloved hand to the back of his head and blinked nervously.
It's okay, I was just about to start assigning positions in the family hunt to your brothers, so you are just in time. he spoke to his Bastard child, and he smiled wide at the male, for he had no reason to be mad at Dirge as much as he had begun to get annoying with his brothers. Till was suddenly so glad that Mekhl had not been there because he would have likely had a real fight on their hands and Till was just not entertained by the spry youth that came with raising a house full of boys. His dark cosmic eyes looked at each of his children, and as Raito went to open his mouth, Till put his index finger out and pointed at Raito.
Shut the fuck up, I'm done with hearing your voice right now. he snapped at the child and then straightened his spine and fixed his ruffled collar on his lavender outfit. He cleared his voice once more as he looked between all of his children, and he evaluated each of them with silent, cold eyes.

There's an elk herd that is a few miles out from the border from what Muerte has reported. I have been tracking them for about a week or so now, and they disappeared after the blizzard for some time, but now, they have showed back up and it's no better time than now to cull some of the herd. There will likely be ones that have been injured from the storm, as well as older ones that barely made it through the deep snow. he explained what they were going after, but not how yet. He looked over each of them and his gaze stopped on Spartacus. Originally, he was going to have Spartacus run with Coaxoch and Raito, while Dirge would operate the other archer position but Spartacus really looked like hell and was in a really bad mood on top of it, so Till rearranged his plan once more in his head.

Spartacus, you will be on your bow with me, and on horseback. Is Jun in a condition where she can hunt? he asked his second youngest, who looked at his father and gave a sweet, faux innocent smile to him. Till squinted at Spartacus. Yes, Jun is in perfect condition. Thank you, father. he spoke as he bowed his head lightly to his father.
But— the hand that grabbed his muzzle had been unexpected, and this hand reeled back and pulled the male closer to him. Till looked down at the boy who looked way too much like his mother and the smile that pulled on his maw was sinister.

I told you to shut up. Till told the boy before he suddenly let go of the male's face and he huffed. Raito, you will be with Coaxoch and Dirge, learning how to properly herd them for Spartacus and I. he spoke, and he obediently had nodded his head then. Dirge whined as he looked at the boy, wondering what had happened for Raito to invoke the wrath of their father, but Coaxoch looked at his youngest brother with no sympathy. Coaxoch knew their father better than any of them, and he knew that when someone got in Till's way, he would punish them.

Raito, Coaxoch, Dirge, go ahead and shift down into your secui forms, and get ready for a run. Spartacus...Clean yourself up and lose the sword for your bow and quiver. We will meet back up at the eastern border. Don't bother covering your scents, we wont be Outside for long.Till told his sons before he had finally dismissed them and moved to get his bow off it's mount and he looked at "Victoria", smiled, muttered something to the doll, and exited his home to get Tal ready for the hunt.

OOC - Bleepbloop WC: 705

Is it all inside my head — I just can't escape the noise

SMACK

Unlike Till, Coaxoch was not afraid to harm his siblings when they started to talk shit. The man that Spartacus was starting to become was a lot like Julius, and Coaxoch did not appreciate it. The Valentine boy was so distanced from their family now that the mere mention of Julius had made Till stop what he was doing and walk away from whatever conversation was going on. Coaxoch knew there was some shame in Till when he had noticed that he did not become an Apprentice before his younger brother. Coaxoch had long had some of his younger siblings off his radar because he had simply had no interest in them.

These siblings that were in here with him were generally an annoyance to him, but that was likely because they grew up differently than he did. They were given most of the things they had, while Coaxoch knew what it was like to not have riches, where he had seen his father work day in and day out to get the things that they did have.

He and Spartacus retorted to one another for quite awhile before Coaxoch had caught a look from his father that had told him to "stop or be sorry about it" and this was when Coaxoch spat on the ground in front of Spartacus and he stepped back and away from the smaller male. Spartacus had been lucky that Coaxoch was more levelheaded and "god-fearing" than Mekhl, whom would have just beat the shit out of Spartacus, even though Sparta was much bigger than Mekhl was now. Coaxoch snorted, before he looked back at his youngest brother, and then watched the interaction between Sparta and Raito. Coaxoch scoffed loudly at the two, and rolled his eyes as he heard his brother threaten to make the other a eunuch. "Big talk for someone whose balls haven't even dropped." the snip came from his maw with such ease that he didn't even realize he had said it out loud until his father had told them all to shut up.

It did not take more than a minute or two into Till's speech that it was interrupted by his closest brother. Coaxoch looked to Dirge and smiled, as he had explained what had happened. Coaxoch moved to stand next to Dirge, for he knew that they would be partners for this run, as he knew that their father would not pick Coaxoch to be on horseback. It was just not logical to do so, when he would have to get super close to the prey to get a good shot on it with a spear. He listened to his father, and he sighed lightly as Raito tried to argue his point, only to be shot down not only once, but twice by their father.

"You ain't really good at listenin, huh?" Coaxoch commented before he looked at Dirge and sighed lightly. "These silly children don't have a damn clue." he spoke to his brother after his father had given out the assignments. Coaxoch dismissed himself and went to his old room — that was now unused and empty — and he unclothed himself, and began the rather painless transformation into his halfling form.

He chose this form because he was a powerful creature within the form, and while he was heavy, he was still quick and had enough endurance to keep up with his smaller siblings and the prey they were to go after. Once his transformation had come to it's completion, he moved through the cabin and waited for the others to be ready so that they could open the door. It was not long after that his wolfish brother had also come to his side, having been still bigger than Coaxoch, simply because of genetics. He smiled to his brother, and Dirge smiled back.

"It's been quite awhile since we have had a good run in our four-legged forms, huh." Dirge mentioned as he rolled his shoulders lightly and he stretched his long body so that he would be ready for the long run.

"Ya' got that right." Coaxoch spoke as he decided to do the same thing as his brother.

I think I'm paranoid — Is it all in my head?
