[AW+] A Day to Explore
#1
The sun was shining and it was a beautiful day in Fort Kingsbury and every wolf or canine seemed to be bustling around doing chores or going to work.  The sun glistened of the snow causing it to sparkle and all the birds were chirping and fluttering about.  Today, seemed like it would be the perfect day to explore for the Marino pup.  He got up early, ate a big breakfast and played with Caspian for a morning romp.  All in all, he considered it a great morning!  Earlier he had asked his mother if he could go exploring, he wouldn’t go far, he promised he wouldn’t go past the fountain.  She had agreed as long as he was back by sun down. Asking the creamy elder how he looked, he beamed a giant smile her way.  And with a nuzzle and a kiss he was leaving the Wetu and on his way to an adventure.

So far he had been around the gardens and the courthouse by himself, but that was about it.  But today he wanted an adventure and to visit somewhere new. His long legs carried him quickly over the snow and soon came to the bridge and  paused a moment half way across. He jumped and placed in front paw on the wall looking out over snow cover Kingston river. It was quite a stunning sight looking out east from the bridge and Lucian could spend hours daydreaming.  But not today, today was a day of exploration. Hopping down off the wall, he continued he way towards the center of town.

As he came to the end of the gardens he was trying to decide which way he should go, If I go east, I can visit the pastures and racetrack and see what horses are galloping along or I could go south towards the main training ring and see if anyone is sparring…hmmmm.  I think I shall first visit the pasture and then the training ring! Delighted with his decision he pranced towards the snowy pasture. He arrived at the horse fencing and his blue and golden hues seemed to sparkle and glow.  He found horses absolutely fascinating, so majestic and regal.  The chuffs and neighs were like music to his ears.  One day, one day Ill have my own horse to ride from sun up to sun down! he barked happily.  Though he could spend all day watching such amazing animals, he wanted to make sure to save enough of the day for the rest of his adventure so he turned and started heading west towards the training ring.

Before the ring was in sight, his ears went straight up and his tail wagged excitedly as he heard the sounds of sparring--heavy breathing, metal clanging and wood thumping. Yes! he barked and started to run towards the sounds on training.  He wondered who he might meet and what he might learn today, he knew many of the shop keepers, knights and cadets trained almost daily. Lucian was having a great day and knew it could only get better from here.

She had not noticed when the sun was finally starting to rise for the next day until her tutor had yawned for the fifth time in a row since she pointed out the properties of feverfew, a daisy look alike that helped with things that she needed help with actually but she would have to wait for the spring time to come for that herb to give her relief.  She was told it would taste better than the roots she had been gnawing on for her teething pain, and she had already tried the snow outside but that only gave her what Fiora's daughter called brain freeze. What a funny name for something that did not feel like a laughing matter but Fiorenza seemed to find her face when it happened rather hilarious.

< "Alright now little flower, this tired woman needs to get some sleep, maybe you should go check in with your mother?" > the woman with brilliant blue eyes said, tucking the quilt that her husband had wrapped around her some time ago, closer to her thin frame. She gave the curious Hushhowl a warm and motherly smile before she got off their collection of pillows and books with a groan. With a flourish she expertly navigated the organized clutter of the small room, making sure the deep blue quilt flaired out so that she did not step on the edges. She slowly cracked the door open to let the child outside. Knowing she now knew how to get up the stairs on her own and would not need to escort her.

The child gave a smile to the flower lady before rubbing against her in a farewell. Her actions more like that of Bygul, the white cat that always seemed to curl up near them. She had taken to mimicking him a lot more than she was even realized or meant to.  She did not tell the woman in words but in actions and soft yip to make sure she did not wake those that needed their rest,  like Fiora.

With a chuckle the tired woman closed the door behind her and moved deeper into her small room, lowering herself to the worn handmade mattress and curling up next to her two already sleeping cat companions. It was a lot later than she realised, probably late morning a little before noon? She did not know nor did she care as she drifted off into dreamland, Bygul's purring sending her there quickly.

Meanwhile a little Hushhowl took one step with one hope at a time. She would place her paws on the the top of a step and kicked off with her back legs in a frog hopping motion, unlike the cats she was not graceful in this action. No, this was a tiring job but she had slept earlier in their studies so she was wide awake and filled to the brim with energy.. like any child her age!

Someone opened the large door to the front of the courthouse, she did not look at them very closely but she tipped a thanks to them as she made her way into the bright sun. Oh woah! She stopped, blinked then blinked some more. Oh man that was bright, too bright after the dim room of the vin Vahns. After the initial pain from the sudden shift in lighting was over with the child started to move aimlessly, thinking if flowers and herbal remedies when she should have been paying attention to her destination because she was suppose to be heading to her house to check in with the matriarch of their clan but like her grandfather before her.. she waa not the greatest with direction.

Instead she blinked and refocused her vision from the day dreaming inside her mind to what waa in front of her. Oh, she had made it to the place horses were kept! Her sister loved this place, she was always dreaming of when she would be able to have her very own horse and ride around. Lyubov liked horses too but not with the same obsession. I mean, what girl didn't like horses and want one if their own? What Cavalier didn't?

Again she wandered but this time it would seem she would come closer and closer to the training ring, unbeknownst to her she was following around the son of their old Lune and her friend. She didn't know his father or anything events that came before their meeting, he was just her friend.  Oh, and there he was!  A yip escaped her lips as she finally kept her attention on something other than the musings inside her own head. She closed the distance between them and gave him a full body rub with her own, like a cat scent marking someone that was theirs. The girl looked into his two toned eyes and gave him a brilliant smile, her way of saying hello!

As he approached the training ring, the dappled colored pup began to day dream about what he might do in the training ring. He had seen a coyote with small little knives and had also seen others with swords and axes while others just fought tooth and claw.  Maybe he could ask Alaric or Cedric about what his departed father preferred.  Lucian liked the idea of ranged combat, but there was also something about tooth and claw being intimate in battle. He still had plenty of time to figure it out, he was just over four moons old now and while it was on his mind because he would eventually have to decide, he didn't need to right now. Right now he was enjoying meeting his extended family and making new friends like Celia, Lyubov and Nashoba.

The sound of metal and wood being slammed together and the sound of grunts and heavy breathing brought the pup back out of his daydream.  As he arrived at the ring there was a grey wolf with something that looked like a sturdy piece of wood with metal studs at the end of it up against a bluish canine wielding an axe.  As the two sparred, Lucian's jaw dropped open and his eyes lit up in amazement, they were so fierce and to a young pup like himself, scary.  But he couldn't turn his gaze away, it was almost mesmerizing.

Blue and golden hues darted back and forth watching each sparring partner make his move, it wasn't until the smell of flowers and the her ivory fur blended with his that his gaze fell upon the wisteria eyed Hushhowl. He looked at her and smiled, "Hi Lyubov! Fancy meeting you here.  How have you been?" He turned back to watch the battle continue but during his greeting it had come to an end, and with a handshake each went their own way.  Lucian turned his attention back to the ivory and ebony pup, still smiling.  "What are you up to today?  Mother gave me permission to visit as far out as the fountain from the gardens, would you like to join me?" He turned to walk, hoping his friend would follow him so that they may catch up since their last encounter, hoping that this time it wouldn't end in an collision.  His eyes looked ahead to the snow and ice covered fountain, it would officially been the furthest he'd been without an adult and that made him feel older.  His fluffy tail swayed back and forth, he looked back to see if his friend had indeed joined him for his  day of adventure.

She could tell he was preoccupied,  too busy watching the two men in the sparring ring to notice one simply puppy. A grey wolf-like man was standing in the ring with a unique weapon, something probably handmade and deadly in his hands and he waa up against a wolf dog mix. This bluish man held an axe and the naturally non combative child shivered at the thought of the injuries that such weapons could cause but Lucian enjoyed the fight where Lyubov did not. It was obvious by the ferocity of his tail as it slashed the air around it with quick movements.

So he would be a fighter like her mama and daddy were, why was she so different? She was not interested in combat or the art of abusing one another, even play fighting could be too rough for the quiet child. Zasha played harshly, forgetting her bigger size overpowered her runt sister, making it so that she always won.

His attention came to her as she brushed her fur with his, ivory to metal. His two toned eyes trained on her and not the warriors any longer. This made her tail sway, she could draw his attention with a touch, she was more important than the two sparring canines. Or this is what she thought as she looked at his beaming, smiling face. He was always so happy, this caused an answering smile to upturn her lips. She liked being around Lucian, she felt she wanted to be near him more often than the other puppies. She did bot know it but this could possibly be one of those fabled crushes kids had, something that drew them together but maybe the write is reading too much into these kind of things.

He asked a question and she nodded, looking around and flourished a diamond marked paw as if to say I am just wandering around. She did not have to speak these words as he did for her, talking about how his mama gave him permission to go as far as fountain. Oh she had not been there!

With a yip of approval she nodded, her tail wagging before she lowered her front half on a play bow. Her rump wiggling as her tail kept up its sway act, this was her well let's go pose.

His blended tail wagged back and forth as he looked back to Lyubov to see her in a play bow, he barked and jumped in the air like a fox pouncing its pray in the wild.  Lucian remembered how much the two toned pup loved to run and an even larger grin came across his maw, and his tail began to flick back and forth faster. He returned the play bow and nodded over his shoulder as an invitation to race to the fountain, he barked again and took off.  He knew that she was more agile and faster than he was and would catch up in no time.

Though this time the paths were clear with no icy patches to slip and slide on and he had grown and matured.  The marbled pup's paws were still big but he had more control over them and wasn't as clumsy.  He was in an awkward stage, he had long gangly legs, big paw, and his ears were still slightly too big for his head. His coat was extra fluffy which somewhat hid his skinny growing body.  Lucian was definitely growing by leaps and bounds and soon he wouldn't look like a puppy anymore. The downy puppy coat seemed to disappear more each day and his bushy, warm undercoat took it's place as well as the smooth guard hairs that gave a healthy shine to his pelt.  He would one day be a very handsome young wolf.

As predicted soon the wisteria hues were beside him, and he slowed his pace. His azure and marigold gaze turned to the monochrome pup and gave a playful bark. Maybe this would be a good time to get to now her a little better.  While they had met before, they really didn't have time to talk, they immediately went to play, chase and collision. The though of that day made him chuckle. He wondered what she liked to do for fun and about her family, what she wanted to do when she grew up and all of her favorite things.  The question was, would she slow to chat or continue to race to the fountain?  Either way, the day was young and they had plenty of time to chat!

To her silent statement she got a thrilling response, not only did he return her gesture but his fox-like behavior caused her ik tipped tail to sway back and forth in a fast and rhythmic dance. He gave a yip and other sounds like most children their age did, sound boutrous and even drawing the attention of the two men that had been sparring earlier. Though this was short lived as they gave a soft laugh as if to say, boy to he that young and carefree again.

Her attention was all for the boy as he gave a flick of his eyes to signal something, oh, now that she could understand. He wanted to race to the fountain, now that was a plan she could get behind. This time their path waa not tainted with slippery ice or cold and mush snow, this time there would be no running into each other and crashing to a halt. This time her legs were slightly longer, her dainty paws just as agile as before. One day she would grow into a sleek and lean woman, a girl made for running rather than fighting. Her muscles would coalesce into her legs and she would carry the weight with a slender and petite frame. An eye catcher indeed.

Ah, but for now she was still a little child that liked to run and read the tells of someone's face. They ran, and at first the colorful boy was the frontrunner. He had jumped the gun but this did not bother the Hushhowl child, she knew from their last zoomies filled racing that she waa the more agile of the two. His long legs helped but her size and light weight was the kicker for her, soon the wisteria eyed girl was next to him. His eyes looked over to her and she could see from the corner of her eye that he had something on his mind, so she began to slow. He would win if he wanted to race but she felt that this was time better spent doing something else, maybe the spoken language would not be so bad with him?

She slowed more and brought herself to a quick walking pace her head tilted at the boy as she waited his questions.

His marigold and azure hues met those wisteria hues of his friend and it made him smile.  She too had slowed her pace to be at his side.  To those watching the pups as they trotted by, was quite a site.  A petite and slender pup next to one of much large size was comical to say the least.  But Lucian didn't see it that way, he was just glad that she was by his side.  He didn't think anything could make this day better.

Still smiling he looked away to look where they were going. "Hey, do you mind if I call you Lyu?  It's much easier to say than Lyubov." The marbled pup looked back to his friend at his side.  They were almost to the fountain now.  Lucian slowed his pace more, to have their day last as long as it could.  "So tell me what had you been doing before you found me at the training ring?" For some reason he was very curious about her day, maybe it was the flowery aroma that floated along with her as she strode along.

Soon after they had reached the fountain and Lucian began the jump, bark and yip going around the frozen center piece.  He looked again at his ebony and ivory friend, "You wanna go lay in the snow over there and watch Cavaliers as they go by and work in their shops? Might be good to take it all in a learn something new!" He took a step towards the snowy patch and looked at Lyubov with a big smile and motioned with his paw to follow him.  With a flick of his tail he trotted to the spot with the best view of town, dug into the snow a few time and circle once or twice before laying down, his tail to the side, inviting her to join him.

The Marino pup really had been enjoying the company of his friend and still had so many questions.  The sun was still high in the sky and there were other places he still wanted to explore like the barn and the chicken coop.  But right now his focus was on Lyubov.  "Can I ask you something?" he barked with a slight head tilt, What do you wanna be when you grow up? I can't decided. My mother was a healer and my father a great leader and fighter.  I feel like I'm more like my mother, but I still have the urge to protect the ones I care about." Lucian looked back towards the training ring and sighed, he was still young but thought he should know what to do by now, like something should be ingrained in him to know what to do.  "I do love horses, maybe I could do something with them?" he barked aloud but also to himself. Looking over into her wisteria hues again, he smiled and pressed into her gently with his shoulder.  "Sorry for all the questions, just been thinking about the future and growing up lately. Sometimes I wish I could look into the future to see how things my turn out, ya know?"

His gaze turned away from her again as he watched the towns folk pass by, running errands and doing whatever it is that adults do on a daily basis.  "Just think Lyu, one day that will be us, taking care of the town, one day we'll be grown." Lucian looked back at his friend and smiled once more, there was much more to explore in Fort Kingbury, but at this moment he had no desire to leave her side.

This had been the correct coarse of action as the gold and silver boy gave her a smile to die for, she watched as he too slowed his pace to watch her own but it was funny how height difference made on the pace of each child's stride. What was a quick and brisk pace for her was a much slower and more even walking pace for her companion. What would it be like when she had two legs instead of just her four, would she be tall like her mother and father or small like her brother and aunt? It seemed to vary and have no rhyme or rhythm over what size a Hushhowl would be when they got their other forms.

She got out of her own head as she listened to his questions, could he call her Lyu instead of her full fist name. She gave a confident nod to allow him to call her just that before asking her own question, tilting her head to make sure it was known as an inquiry and not a statement. "then I will call you Luc?" if that is alright, waa not voiced but was implied before the topic moves elsewhere and landed on her own day before she found her friend. Ah, now what had she been doing? Well that waa an easy enough question, she had been hounding Fiora for all the information she could supply.

"I was learnin' 'bout herbs and plants then.. so Fiora could sleep, I wander'd outside an' was drawn to the practice rink an' foun' you" she stated with a slight accent had started to pick up from her family, it wasn't as strong as some but it made it clear to what clan she belonged to. Then they reached their destination, she touched her nose to the fountain very softly so not to get stuck on the frozen surface. That was embarrassing the first time that happened, a tongue stuck to ice was very unpleasant. She looked at her noisy and playful friend, she did not mind his noisiness. In fact she enjoyed it because it helped her stay silent and watchful but she touched the fountain again but thia time with her paw as if to say, I touched first so I win! She gave into his playing and began to pounce and even jumped into the air and twisted in the space above in almost a dance and landed unsteadily but presented it as if it was an amazing feat.

He asked about laying in the snow and though she did not like the snow or the cold shiver it brought, she nodded in agreement. He was a natural leader and she liked following his lead, it was easy and natural. She watches as he dug and made a perfect patch for them to lay in a rather cozy manner, his circling and laying before ahead followed suit. She too circled but every time she brushed against him and feels to flick him softly with her traitorous tail that wante to sway backhand forth until the end of time when around her friend. Curious. Finally after three turns she plopped down, her smaller body against his.

They watched as older canines moved and headed to start their day, a quick yawn escaped her lips as she realized something. Had she been to sleep at all? Well darn but she made sure not to show any tiredness, instead her puppy large ears flickered at his words and she gave him a soft and gentle smile. Another question that required the verbal language, she nodded and began her answer. "I thi'k I want to be a heal'r an' artist, mama an' daddy 're both tough an' strong but I like plants an' my brothar's drawin' an' books. I like.. things like yer mama.. you are good at leadin' an' nice like a heal'r." she nudged at him with her nose to his shoulder, she knew her answer was not helpful but she liked to talk about what she wanted for once. Usually her sister, Zasha, did the talking for both of them but she did not mind talking to her friend. It was nice.

When he apologized she pressed her nose to his cheek to tell him it was alright, she liked hearing about these things. She liked his questions and his musings, they were nice and kept her out of own head for a little while.

"When I have hands, I'll draw fer you" she stated boldly, she could jot wait to try and create things like her brother or like the scotches Fiora had in her little books. She snuggled closer as her body gave a soft shiver, though she was fluffy and built to withstand the cold.. it would seem that the little Hushhowl just couldn't catch a break but at least she could be by his side and stay warm, she liked this a lot.

Lucian didn't know why, but when Lyubov pressed her nose to his cheek his cheeks began to get warm and if it was possible to see through his thick coat he was sure his cheeks would also be a blushing pink.  He smiled at her, a twinkle in his azure and marigold hues.  "I think you would make a great healer Lyu!  You are very kind and smart." he barked in a booming voice that almost startled himself and he started to giggle.  "Maybe I could be a healer?  My mother could teach me everything she knew, but then again I would really love to have my own horse and go hunting and exploring outside of the fort.  I don't know Lyu, only time will tell what our futures hold I guess."

The marbled colored pup wrapped his tail around his friend and inched closer to her as he laid his head down on his paws to think a minute about what the future may hold, what he was destined to be.  The wisteria hued pup brought his daydream back to reality as she barked about drawing for him. Raising his head he looked at her and smiled again, "I would love that! Maybe you could teach me how to draw too!" His tail began to wag again, very happy that he had run into the ebony and ivory pup again today.

Shifting, Lyubov had mentioned shifting.  Shifting had been on his mind lately, he was almost five moons now and he wondered when he would shift.  He also knew that soon he would be assigned a mentor as well.  "Hey Lyu, are you nervous about shifting and getting a mentor? I feel like there will be a lot of pressure on us and maybe we won't have fun like we are having now. Do you think we'll still have time to play and hangout?" he asked tilting his head slightly gazing into her wisteria hues.  He hoped they would still have time to be a puppy.

Lucian looked to the sky once more, they had been sitting there for quite a while and he still wanted to explore more.  He rose to his paws, bowing and stretching his front legs out, his claws dug in the snow. Standing up again he kicked out his back legs to stretch them out too.  "So you still up for some exploring, wanna check out the barn and chicken coop with me?  Maybe we can talk some more?" he barked with an inviting smile.  He was definitely enjoying the company of Lyubov and hoped she would agree to continue to spend the day with him exploring around Casa di Cavalieri.

She had touches his cheek and for some reason she left heat there, more so than had been there just moments ago. Curious, what had caused this? She remembered when his touch had done the same thing to her and she felt a flare of warmth imprint her ears, curious again. She had pulled back and his words came, defusing whatever this was and turning it back to subject at hand. Her traitorous tail thumped without her permission at his complement, she would make a great healer wouldn't she? And so would her friend, oh to study with him and share their findings but she was getting ahead of herself. "Fiora, tah flow'r lady with tah butterfly on her head... she's been teachin' me plants. She cou'd teach you too!" The little Hushhowl exclaimed with feeling and pride, but would Fiora like to teach not one but two puppies? Then he spoke about horses and being a hunter, she found herself day dreaming about riding along side him or even on the same horse so she could scout out herbs while her hunted or maybe she could hunt too? "I would go with you," she blurted out as her cheeks began to inflame with a soft pink color. "..h-huntin'.. explorin'.." her voice faded out and she looked up at him with a shy smile.

Drawing, that was the next subject before moving in to worries of shifting, she nodded about teaching him to draw but first Borya had to teach her like he was teaching her to read. Puppy steps, they couldn't just be amazing out the gates!

"'am afraid, I dunno how make an' daddy will take me bein' a healer when Borya isn't a fighter either.. 'am worry 'bout if I get ah mentor that want' me to not study but fight more. 'am of bein' weak.." this was the most she had talked in probably her whole life, Zasha would have been so proud of her for expressing herself through words.. even if it was fears, she nodded on the point of playing and she touched his cheek again with her nose. Lightly, tentivly, "I promise to play wit' you forever, we will n'ver be too 'ld!" she smiled, encouragingly.

The topic changed again and now they could explore and talk, she waa up for that. Instead of talking because she was sure she was close to her quota of words a day, and she wanted to save them for his questions and feelings, the monochrome child smiled and nodded with vigor. She stood gracefully for a child of her age, stretching more like a cat than a wolf. She gave a soft yip in confirmation as she trotted to his side. It was exploring time!

Lucian has a big smile on his face, he was so happy that the ebony and ivory pup wanted to remain at his side as he continued to explore Casa di Cavalieri.  As they made their way to the barn he slowed his trot so that his gate remained in unison with hers, his tail swayed back and forth overreaching to one side so that it would occasionally brush against hers mingling their furs together. For some reason, unbeknownst to him it made him almost giddy but also made him stand up on his tip toes, head held high and chest pushed out in pride.  He had no idea why or even that he was doing these things, he just thought he was out exploring with a friend.

Soon they were passing by the butcher shop, delicious smells of meat past through his flaring pink nostrils and he began to salivate as he realized that  he had forgotten all about eating lunch.  He licked his lips and put the hunger aside, he would eat once he returned home and didn't want to take time away from Lyubov.  He nodded to the blueish canine as they passed by and continued on their journey.  Lucian looked into the wisteria hues of the wolf at his side and smiled at her "Thank you for coming with me, I really enjoy spending time with yu…with friends." he trailed off his ears getting warm as he looked away from her gaze. He was so confused why he cheeks or ears would turn warm just by talking to Lyubov. But he pushed it from his mind and focused on their destination.

As they snuck between two houses he looked around for his big brother and the Lune with no luck, he knew he was most likely at the courthouse or on patrol, but it would have been nice to see him.  "I was hoping to say hi to my big brother but he doesn't seem to be around" he sighed but perked up as he spoke again, "Have you had to chance to meet Cedric?  Or I guess the Lune I should say? He is very kind, if you haven't officially met him, I would love to introduce you!  Maybe at your mentor ceremony if not before!" he barked with pride in his voice.  Lucian considered himself a very lucky pup to have the best older big brother and he was proud that the silvery man was the Lune.

As the two friends approached the barn and chicken coop, all the smells made the marbled colored pup scrunch up his nose and shake his head. "That's a lot of different smells…" as he trotted a little faster by the barn and he started to laugh. Soon the two came upon the chickens, roaming around pecking the ground and clucking about.  Lucian resisted the urge to chase them and send them running, instead he nodded to his friend and went to sit under a tree to talk a bit again. "Lyu, what do you do for fun? It can't be learning all the time, can it?  You mentioned a brother, what's his name?  You're a Hushhowl right, so you live outside of the fort?" he hoped it wasn’t too many questions, he looked down and pawed at the snow a bit before his azure and marigold hues caught the attention of her wisteria ones and his ears started to get warm again and he couldn't help but smile, he wagged his tail making sure it made contact with her. "Hope you don't mind stopping for a bit…" he barked in almost a whisper, "I like spending time with you." this time he barked with a big grin and a tilt of the head.

She had this inflated feeling of happiness, this giddy feeling if almost butterflies in her small chest. There was something about exploring their home and spending time with the molten colored boy that just felt right. Sure, she absolutely loved playing and wandering around the fort and her home with her sister, it was fun and exciting with her but with Lucian.. she could not explain it. Her stride lengthened so to not hinder her companion as their tails seemed to sway in unison thought they brushed and mingled their scent and fur together on occasion. Her pale purple eyes watched as he began to prance and help in a giggle as she to followed suit, making the moveme t more like a dance as she tippy tapped along with him.

Oh, now that waa nice. A scent caught her attention for a moment as they passed the butcher station, venison, her favorite. He might have given the children a bite if they would only stop but her companion, her friend, kept walking and so did she. His words came and her attention was fully on him again, eats cupped towards him to catch every sentence her had to offer her. "Me too.. wit' you especially" she took it a step further, he corrected with friends and she let him know that she liked him best of all. It was the right thing to say and it seemed this boy was able to make her talk more than ever before, her heart fluttered at his attention and her cheeks and ears heated after ever touch but she liked all of it. She didnt then away like he did, instead she took stock of his reactions and gave a rather happy smile. He felt the same way it would seem!

They moved between two houses on hopes to find a certain wolf it would seem, the father to the dusty hued girl and the koi colored girl that always seemed so emotional. Lucain called him brother and then asked if she met their Lune personally, she shook her head but tilted her head as if to say. I would love to mert him with your introduction, she did not feel words could tell him exactly how she felt about this but she gave a yip and a speedy wag of her tail. If he wanted it, she wanted it.

Next was the place of chickens, the scents and sounds an assault to her senses. What strange creatures! Even her friend spoke of the smells, so strange. Her ears perked and eyes moved back to his marbled gaze, the subject was on her now. What did she like to do for fun, not just learning but other fun things. She tilted her little head in thought as she tried to answer the onslaught of questions, fun was flowers, Lucian, her sister, climbing, reading, the things she made with her limited paws. How to phrase this...

"I like flowers, so I learn 'bout t'em. Playin' wit' mah sister is fun, I like clim'in' taller people, watchin' tah cats an' mimickin' t'em.. readin' wit' mah brothar.. makin' scribbles wit' mah paws.. bein' wit' you.." she smiles softly at him, her ears growing warm the more she stared at him but she liked his dual toned eyes and easy confidence. It was a contagious feeling that not only gravitated her towards him but made her feel so free that she talked more than ever before. Her sister would be proud, the silent girl was talking and enjoying it. Zasha always seemed to be alright with her quiet nature and so did the boy before her, it was almost a tie on who she liked spending more time with.. the more she learned about the boy before her, his aspirations and his fears. He was so free to talk about all of them, not truly afraid to voice what he felt and thought.

She nodded to when he asked if she was a Hushhowl and her brother, "Borya, brothar Borya. I sometimes call "im Yaya, I could not say it when I start'd talkin'." she beamed, she lived her creative brother and was happy that not everyone was a warrior in her family. It made her feel less of an oddball. Outside, I can show you sometime!" he could meet her sister and everyone else! When he spoke of liking to spend time with her, her pale cheeks tinted pink. He liked spending time with her and she with him, she brushed her nose against his in a little boop of contact. Her way of saying the exact same thing without words, it was still her first instinct so she showed him instead of saying it because actions can speak louder than words

Lucian sat there and listened to the small Hushhowl, his ears alert and his marigold and azure hues gazing intimately into the wisteria hues of the ebony and ivory pup.  He loved to listen to her talk and was fascinated by her accent.  He just sat there, entranced with a smile across his maw.  His smile got larger when she mentioned spending time with him, the tips of his ears warmed again.  The marbled pup was confused by the warming reactions on his ear tips and cheeks, he had never experienced such a sensation.  He would have to ask his mother about this later, he was sure she would know.

Her voice brought him back to focus when talking about her home, she lived outside of the fort walls.  ”Do you walk here everyday?  All by yourself?” Lucian didn’t like the thought of Lyubov making the trip by herself, what if something happened to her?  His protective nature began to kick in, even though he was pretty sure the pack territories were completely safe, there was just something that bothered him.

His gaze looked towards the sun, it was lower in the sky than he had hoped, most of the day was gone.  He looked back to her wisteria hues and smiled, "It's getting late, would you like to see the gardens and maybe I can grab us a snack from my Wetu before you go home?" he had no intentions on letting her walk home by herself if that was the case.  He would ask his mother for permission to accompany the monochromed pup home.  He felt like it was his duty as her friend to keep her safe.  She had been kind enough to share the day with him, it was only right for him to make sure she made it home without worry.

He stood up tall, his tail held high and faced the gardens looking back towards Lyubov and gave her a nod to follow him. This time he walked in silence to give her time to ask him questions if she wanted to.  They rounded back behind the courthouse and made their way through the snow covered gardens.  Birds chirped and flew from tree to tree getting ready for the evening, squirrels hopped from branch to branch as they scurried back to their nests. The sun was sinking fast behind them and Lucian quickened his pace.

As they reached his Wetu he called out to his mother and Caspian but they did not answer his call.  "If we had more time I would invite you in, but I think we need to get you home before dark.  I'll grab us a snack for the road." Lucian disappeared into the Wetu for a moment, he checked all around but his family was nowhere to be found.  He new he wasn't supposed to go further than the fountain today, but he couldn't let his friend make that trek on her own, he had to make sure she made it home.  He hoped his mother would understand.  He grabbed 2 pieces of venison jerky from the table and headed back outside.  When his marigold and azure hues saw Lyubov again he got the biggest grin while holding the jerky between his teeth.  He leaned forward holding the jerky out for her to grab from him, she could have them both if she wanted. "Let's get you home, shall we?  Lead the way."
