As Spring begins to show signs of return, Casa di Cavalieri sends out runners to invite the leaders of the realm, and their packs, to join in a celebration of surviving the harsh winter storms and quakings of the Earth. The Cavaliers will be hosting a friendly competition, in the form of a tournament, followed by a beach cook-out where the winners will be announced!
We look forward to seeing Mistfell Vale, Del Cenere Gang, and New Caledonia visit and participate in some friendly competition.
March 24th: Packs arrive in Casa di Cavalieri and are given sleeping quarters in available rooms within the Courthouse, or allowed to set up camp outside of the Fort. Given the success of the Diplomacy Summit and the nature of the event, security has been lowered to one guard at the gate, and a friendly face on each of the three watch towers.
Players may assume the following:
▹Free access to all communal rooms within the Fort (ie. kitchen, library, stables, etc.)
▹Limited access to other parts of the territory (ie. Wolfville, Mines, Steam Baths); if you would like to visit these areas, a pNPC can be utilized, or thread with another CdC member
▹Free stabling and care for horses
March 25th: Opening Address
▹Hand to Hand
▹Bonfire and cook-out on Whisper Beach
▹Announcement and presentation of winners
▹Unofficial Drinking Competition
March 27th: Farewell to all!
In order to have the tournament be as fair as possible, Casa leadership, with assistance from the other pack leaders, have created the winners’ choice system. Please be aware that there is no way to take all IC training and skill development into account, but we have tried our best by implementing a similar system to the proficiency and randomization used in Dungeons and Dragons. Competitors will be matched through a Team Randomizer, and then the winner will be chosen based on a final score of Proficiency + Randomized Roll.
A character’s proficiency bonus will be given based on threads submitted to their leader. Members will select a maximum of TWO tournament events to compete in. Once selected, please forward any IC threads you have worked on that specifically match the skill used in that competition (ex. Sword fighting). Submitted threads must meet completion guidelines (ie. 900+ words, at least three replies from your character) and have been started before March 1st.
Leaders of your pack will check your threads for authenticity and completion, then will assign a proficiency bonus to your character’s skill based on the chart below. This bonus will be added to the randomized die roll to create your final score.
0 Threads Submitted = +0
1 Threads Submitted = +1
4 Threads Submitted = +2
7 Threads Submitted = +3
As with all things in life, chance or luck will be a factor in play! Once all leaders have created a list of character proficiencies a member of Casa Leadership will screen share with them in a discord call to work through the randomization process with them, to come up with a final score for each character. Leaders will use the Google Dice Roller to roll a 6 sided dice and add this number to your character’s skill proficiency (example: +2 proficiency +3 randomized roll = total score of 5).
Final scores and character proficiencies will be shared with all leaders involved, but not publically displayed. Discord chats will be created with all participants of a single event to allow quick discussion around the event threads. A leader will announce within these chats the winner.
In the spirit of friendly competition we urge everyone who signs up to remember that we have utilized the randomizer and proficiency system to try to be as fair as possible. All characters are capable of bad days and accidental slip ups, including those who have trained for years. If your character is well trained but not named winner please find a fun way to create this result. Maybe a less coordinated canine bumps into them or they slip on a wet patch of Earth! Enjoy yourselves and be kind to one another!
Please sign up below for a maximum of two events. After signing up please send your leadership team any proficiency threads to be assigned a secret proficiency score. This sign up sheet is simply to track how many people have signed up for each event, scores and winners will be discussed through PMs. Leaders may close an event if participants become excessive.
