735 With cNPC, Aegir

The forests were dark, with the moon being the only source of light with its silver rays. The stars shone beautifully with their lovely patterns that created pictures to anyone with imagination. Below the celestial bodies, two enormous beasts hunted in the cover of darkness. Not yet full grown, they were still intimidating figures with their broad, bulky builds covered in muscle and thick fur. Their halfling shapes made them even more intimidating as they looked like the unholy creations of a union between a lion, bear, and wolf.

At the lead was a female that looked to be of the night sky with her bluish-grey and bluish-black tones that decorated her fur. Her saddle seemed to be streaked by white, and to some it, it looked like stars had fallen into her pelt. Had it not been for her feminine scent, she would have easily been mistaken for a male due to her muscular physique and thick fur. Her eyes, however, were the most interesting aspect, as her irises were dark blue but had white flecks around the pupil.

Behind her was a massive male, similar in size to his sister but his fur was much thicker; a throwback to his Caucasian Shepherd blood. He was almost leonine with his thick mane that further exaggerated his size. He was in his summer coat, though he was obviously meant for cooler summers. His fur was a mixture of dull browns and black and he had amber eyes that seemed guarded to some degree. His peculiar tail that was furry, yet long swayed behind him as he walked.

Aisling and Aegir still trekked through the wilderness, walking and trotting many miles a day. As they traveled, remembering their father's advice to head towards where the sun rose, but keep at an angle. The duo traveled from evening to morning as the daytime heat was unpleasant for her and downright unbearable for her brother as they traveled. It was no bother to the oversized wolfdog as she was a child of the night.

"Look," the massive male said as the pair stopped. They saw deer grazing not too far away and two of the were old-looking creatures with their patchy pelts. They had obviously withstood the test of time, but both hunters exchanged glances. This would be the does' last night, or at least one of them would not be waking up tomorrow morning. The pair had hunted together before and knew how to catch prey. The night goddess would hide in waiting and the titan would chase the old creatures towards her. Perhaps he might be able to get his own deer as they needed a lot of food to keep going.

The giantess padded off in one direction and then the bear dog began stalking the deer. He was remarkably quiet for his size, but it wasn't enough, The deer spooked quickly but the beast was able to separate the elderly deer from the herd. He chased the two in the direction his sister had gone towards, letting out a baying hound howl to announce the hunt. The giant knew that his sister hadn't gone far and put on a burst of speed as the deer began to separate.

The titaness sprang from the forest like a shadow separating from its brethren . The deer had no time to react and she tackled it to the ground. The female landed clumsily, accidentally crushing the deer as she landed. A terrified cry split the air before the huntress silenced it with her jaws wrapped around the creature's neck. Her attack managed to distract the other just enough to allow her brother to leap and catch the other deer. They normally weren't this successful, but today they were. The night hound thanked the goddesses for their generosity as the bear-like behemoth carried the carcass over to her.

"We've done well," the star-pelted she-beast commented as she saw the Cerberus's kill. It was neater than her own as her own kill's rib cage had been crushed by the landing of the wolfess. But that didn't bother her as the two began to tear into their own kills as their large size required more sustenance. A deer for each meal had been adequate enough, though combinations of other animals were also somewhat satisfying. The Stormfast siblings ate in relative silence punctuated by the sound of flesh being eaten and consumed.

Most of her travels were done at night, as it was cooler. Her deep brown eyes watched her footsteps as she walked through the woodlands. Her mind wandered aimlessly, like her travels, with no rhyme...but with reason. It had been weeks, and the most Inara had eaten was a mouse days ago. Her stomach was in pain and with each step it made sure to remind her of her need to eat. In a bane attempt to lessen her hunger she found some foliage and began to bite and tear at it. It had a rough texture on her tongue and had a bitter taste, but it was better than nothing. Just as she went to rip another leaf off the bush her eyes caught sight of something trotting off in the distance. With a sharp draw of her breath she crouched down, a sudden rush of cold came over her, eyes widened.

She heard the movements more than she saw what was going on. Frozen in fear, Inara didn't know if she should run. Yet...there was a small part of her that was curious. Just as she was debating on what to do, she heard something that sounded much like a hound bellowing. Her broken ears perked up just as her neck stretched in an attempt to see if she could indeed spot the other canine. Her nose picked up and flared and wiggled about trying to see if she could catch any scent.

Finally, after a mere second, she took in a calming breath and slowly moved about. Each paw was placed cautiously, as her ears flicked in any direction of any noise. She paused sharply as her head whipped over toward what could only be described as some sort of struggle. The girl had to steady her own heart and start breathing again. Determination in her eyes, she steeled herself before she continued. Her head was down as she stalked after the noises in the dark.

Inara had no clue why she was doing this. Maybe it was a morbid curiosity, or a deep seeded desire to see another canine, but she knew by no means would she interact if she could help it. She had no idea if these canine(s) were friendly. What if it was a wolf? She shook her mind clear of thought just as she heard a voice. She halted as she realized she was merely feet from them. Them? Her heart raced, there were two canines, was it? One was of a bearish look, and the other was obviously a large male...no, that voice came from her. It was a large female. They looked wolf, yet.

Just as she was about to back up she saw the food. Her stomach wrenched and grumbled loudly at her, making her ears pin back and eyes widen further. Panic set in, and she backed up only to rough the fallen leaves and snap a branch. Shit!

Aisling tore into the deer, her large canines ripping the meat and her carnassials slicing the flesh into smaller chunks for her to swallow. She ate quickly, always ravenous after a hunt - and all the time, really - and wanting to finish as fast as she could. She was about to rip into the deer’s midsection even more, to dig passed the broken ribs to the organs. She had devoured much of the shoulders and ribs, but she normally preferred to save the best parts for last. The Stormfast daughter would dig for the liver first.

Beside her, Aegir also tore into his own deer, ravenous from the energy expended during the hunt. He made quicker work of his deer, his teeth tearing into the deer’s midsection, seeking the liver and other organs to devour before moving on to the the rest of the deer. He could even break the bones and eat the marrow if he wanted. The Stormfast son was more interested in eating and relied on his sister to warn him of danger.

The night goddess swung her head as she heard the sound of leaves being disturbed and a branch snapping. Blood and flesh hung from her jaws as her celestial-blessed eyes searched for the source of the sound. She didn’t feel like she was threatened, but she was more curious than anything. A small pup - well it looked like a pup to her judging by the size - with tri-colored fur and a scared expression stood there frozen. The enormous female’s eyes softened.

The girl reminded the celestial giantess of her own younger cousins with her body structure. The brown titan looked up after a pregnant pause, but then went back to eating. His sister could deal with the little thing. He was unconcerned with the stranger that didn't even reach chin-height. The massive wolfess noticed the skinniness of the girl and then made her derision.

The Stormfast titaness turned back to the carcass and tore part of the haunch off of the deer. She took a couple of measured step forward, her ears still forward and held her head high with the deer's haunch in her mouth. She was ever-dominant, though the scared posture of the female read as submissive to her. She placed the chunk of meat on the ground and backed up. "You look hungry," the star-pelted she-beast said, with the obvious command of "eat".

The wolves acted as though the gypsy daughter was nothing. But that wasn't entirely a bad thing because, at least, that meant they weren't going to kill her. She remained frozen though as she envisioned the carnage that could be wrought by such massive wolves. The male didn't even pass her a glance, and the female seemed mildly interested in the her. Just as the star pelted lady looked away from Inara she lowered herself more and turned about to bolt from them. It was at that time she saw her approaching with a section of their kill.

Immediately, her demeanor changed in shock of what she was seeing. This wolf was bringing her food!? Ears lifted atop her head and she watched wide eyed as the haunch was placed before her, and though her words were not commands, her tone was. The titan sized wolf didn't need to command her, because she wasn't going to turn down food. It wasn't in Inara's nature to turn down food, especially such a fresh kill. The smell alone had her mouth watering, but she wasn't going to even think about challenging them for their food. That was unthinkable. To be offered such a sizable piece was very generous and she was going to take full advantage of this generosity.

Her paws landed on either side of the haunch and she sunk her canines in and pulled back in the most savage manner. Head shaking back and forth to really tear at the skin, as well as, fling the fur away. She hadn't eaten anything this sizable in months, her tail wagged in great appreciation as she glanced up from the haunch.

Inara made quick work of the offering given to her, and she wasn't about to let any of it go to waste as she began to gnaw at the remaining bones. It was at this point that she came out of her blind hunger and looked up and over to the titans. A warm facade came over her and she smiled, pausing from chewing on the bone, "Thank you, I appreciate the food. It was very generous of you."

Aisling was a provider and protector, she had always been for her family. That was what she was supposed the do; the strong helped the weaker members of the pack. As long as she was given the respect she deserved, she would be a protector and provider to those that were weak. And the girl had given the wolfess the respect that she deserved - or at least that was how the Stormfast daughter had read it as - and seemed like a pup compared to the two almost-yearlings - albeit, they were in their halfling shapes. The stranger's structure reminded her of the doggish members of her pack, though she had a weird scent that the oversized wolfdog couldn't identify.

The night goddess watched as the young hybrid tore into the meat that was offered to her, seeming as if she hadn't eaten for a long time. The lack of words was normal for the she-wolf as those feral as herself often didn't give much thanks as enjoying the meal was thanks enough for the feral female. Call her uncivilized, but actions were often better than words in her mind. Most members of her pack were wolves of few words, with the exception of many of her cousins and some of her aunts and uncles. And especially with her brother, they didn't need to communicate with words as they could read each other like an open book. The celestial titaness began toi into her own kill, ripping a chunk off and gulping it down.

The midnight giantess turned as the girl thanked them, using words that the wolfess herself didn't use until she was nine moons old. She wondered if the girl was older than she had originally thought. The yearling was considered to be around average for her family at her young age - her grandmother once told her that her large uncles were the same size at her age which gave her an idea of how big she would be when she was fully grown - and there weren't many in her family that were "small". Though on second thought, the girl seemed to be similarly-sized to her aunt who was a rather small individual. "You're just a kid, the star-pelted she-beast said.

Lifting her head more, broken ears perked more directly toward the star covered wolf. "I'm not a kid...but I'm not all that old either...this is will be my second winter...I was born in fall..." She replied thoughtfully. The gypsies never paid much attention to age, nor talked much about age, so she really wasn't sure how to describe if she were a kid or not. Her thick muzzle fell for a moment as her eyes became distant.

She was going to missed the fall festival, she would finally be able to see a fall festival. Fall was her favorite time of year and she heard the fall festivities were the best. With a huff she put her attention back onto the bone. Her facade once more taking up, burying her own turmoil deep inside and letting her mind focus on her incisors scrapping and crunching the bone that laid between her paws.

Her eyes passively looked back to the other female. Pulling back from the bone she mildly spoke, "So...you're a young adult too, then?" Her tongue licked at the flavors on her lips. She looked over to the male who was silent, and quite frankly, might as well have been a tree there. "He your brother?" she nodded to the titan sized male. She tilted her head, and it was as if she hadn't talked in months, because quite frankly she hadn't. "Why are you guys so large? I haven't ever seen wolves as big as you guys. Are you part dog? Like mastiff breeds?" She just let her mouth go on and on, not really giving them time to reply, "I have a lot of big breed dogs in my lineage, too. Supposedly I have a lot of italian, russian, and maybe some northern breeds in me. But I am mostly coyote, though it doesn't look like it. That and...I have a little bit of wolf in me..but it is so little."
