How to remove graph paper lines from line art on GIMP

POSTED: Fri Nov 11, 2016 12:18 am

So I want to remove the graph paper lines from this drawing but I can't seem to remove the lines, no matter what directions I've followed. Any 'Souls artists know how to fix this?

try tracing over the linesin another layer with the pen or paint brush tool, then delete the bottom layer and you should have just the black lines from the layer on top.

Been a while since I used GIMP, so not sure where exactly to do that, but in PS there's this trick to remove the blue from the color channels, then turn the picture into grayscale and back to RGB :?

I was bored, so I did it for you:

I couldn't really see the speech bubble text, so I can either fill it in for you, or you can play around with it on GIMP. Let me know if you want the PSD version!

I use Corel Paintshop Pro, and I just make a new layer, and trace over the lines with the pen tool. Then once done, I delete the background layer (which would be the original image). I took a screenshot of my finished product with all the layers (you can see them on the right)
