Shavings flew all over and covered his arms and the lathe. Most settled onto the floor in a growing pile as Temo's foot worked the pedal that turned the chunk of wood while he slowly moved the chisel across the tool rest. The chisel tip gouged into the spinning wood and caused the chips to fly all over and pile up.Wood dust swirled about and settled onto everything including him as he worked

Light poured through the open windows and the shop door was left open while he worked and a breeze took advantage of the opportunity to enter and play around with the floating particles of wood making them dance throughout the room. The new table leg was slowly taking shape as Temo carefully all the bits that was not part of the leg. Every so often he would stop and compare the new piece with a sample piece that he had removed from the table that he was his current repair project.

The main work room of his shop was picture perfect show of organization. All the tools not currently being used in their proper places either hung on the wall above the work bench or in drawers. Steel carefully cleaned and oiled against moisture to prevent the formation of iron oxide. Many of the tools still bore the scars of years of rusting before Temo had found them and cleaned them up. The other rooms were a form of organized chaos of other projects both finished and unfinished that only Temo knew the key to deciphering. Chairs, tables, bookcases, dressers and many other pieces of furniture cluttered the rest of the house that he had converted to a work shop as they waited for a new life of use with the new dominate species that had arose from the ashes of the old.

Avinalora
I have a million different kinds of fun when I'm asleep and in a dream that I'm your only one.

The moon-washed maiden stepped quietly into the shop, not wanting to disturb anyone inside. Her coal-colored companion walked in after her. They had come to town to look for some furniture for their new home. The house that the siblings had moved into lacked some of the furniture that the pair had wanted. In the leather sack that Jarix held in his hand contained some traps he had made and some pelts. In Avinalora's satchel held some herbs and poultices she could trade.

The foxlike female looked around the shop. She couldn't really distinguish much other than a mess of brown because of her poor vision, but she wanted to act like she could see. Not many knew about the healer's handicap, her blind left eye and nearly blind right eye. She didn't want to appear any more frail and weak looking than her appearance already displayed.

The darkling also looked around the shop to see if there was anything that they needed. As of the moment, they needed a bookshelf for the many texts they had. The she-jackal wanted a desk and chair for her room and the night-hued male wanted a table, chairs, and maybe some other furniture that could hold items such as a dresser. He hoped that perhaps they could borrow a cart to get the furniture to the house, and maybe enlist some pack members to help them.

Seeing as the shop appeared empty, the silver-haired girl decided to announce their presence. "Hello?" She called. The female's large ears could faintly hear the sound of someone working as she wouldn't have come in if it was closed.

Sorry this took so long, been extremely busy the past month. | +209

The table leg was taking shape under his expert handling of the chisel as he slowly moved it against the spinning wood making the wood chips fly all over. The large windows not only let in plenty of light for seeing what he was doing, The view of the trees and brush through the window that at times help inspire some of his work, especially when he had to carve leaves and other things of nature.

Visitors were rare to his shop but he did not mind, he did the wood work for the enjoyment of it. There was not a huge demand for furniture given that one could go through the many still abandoned buildings and find what they required. It was with some surprise that there were visitors when he detected the footfalls coming in the door and someone calling out. He put down the chisel and brushed the bulk of shavings off of his arms and in the process the dust floated up and tickled his nose which caused him to sneeze.

Hello, he greeted the visitors after his body finished explosively clearing the dust from his nasal passages, How can I help you? he finished as he turned to see whom it was that came visiting.

Avinalora's mismatched gaze immediately flicked to the source of the voice as did Jarix's. The speaker was a dark-furred wolf with brown eyes. She also noticed that he bore some scars, one on his cheek and two on his shoulder. The fox saw that he was shorter than most wolves she had met before and her crepuscular brother was taller than him. The Midnighter smelled like a mixture of wood and carried the scent of Midnight Shores that was faint on the jackal siblings.

"We're looking for some furniture for our new home." Her teal-eyed brother responded in his British lilt and the healer nodded. Then, he held up the sack the he was carrying and said, "We've also brought some items as payment for any items we might purchase." The vixen hoped that what they had was enough for the furniture as the traps that the Caelum had were easy to use and worked perfectly. The herbs the Pollux had might be worth something though she wasn't exactly sure what the wolf might consider valuable.

The she-jackal decided to speak up as well. "We're just looking around and hope that some herbs, traps, and some furs would hopefully be enough." She wasn't exactly sure of the price or value that the furniture was worth but hopefully they could at least purchase the necessities such as a bookshelf.

If it is furniture you want, you have come to the right place. he replied. He did not worry about payment, having the furniture find a new home and get used instead of piling up in his shop and collect dust was payment enough. Plus it made room so he could ply his trade and repair more. Although he does not turn down any payment that a customer deems sufficient for their items if it helps them feel better about their purchase.

Temo pondered a moment as he considered what they might be looking for, then Please, step this way he instructed the couple as he led them to a room that was full of furniture as far as the eye can see. As that the room was not huge, one did not need to see far before a wall got in the way. Stacked tables vying for floor space with dressers and cabinets. Chairs hung on the walls with pegs and stacked on top of everything else in the room. It all looked like an effort of organized chaos that was about to fail at the slightest offense. "Anything in particular you are looking for?" he queried the two shoppers.

Avinalora
"We're gonna rattle this ghost town"

Avinalora and Jarix nodded as they heard the man speak, confirming that they were at the right place, though it was obvious that it was a furniture shop. It was either that or some sort of workshop that people just looked at pretty furniture. The vixen hoped for probably the third time that they had a sufficient number of items to pay so that they would have the furniture they want for their house.

Then, the male led them to another room, possibly a viewing room. The area was filled with furniture of all sorts and the chairs hanging from the wall and stacked tables worried the small creature who would probably be injured if a chair fell on her. She noted to stay a bit away from any objects that could possible fall on her.

Then, the merchant inquired of the items they were looking for. The crepuscular jackal-hybrid looked around several pieces of furniture caught his eye. The bookshelves were a need for the two readers and both wanted a desk and chair in their rooms. A bed each was needed and perhaps a few other miscellaneous pieces would do.

"Mind if we look around?" The melanistic male asked.

Sure, look around all you want, Temo replied as he glanced about at all the stacks of furniture that he had crammed into the room. His eyes took in the woodwork that the humans had built and he had painstakingly repaired and preserved He wondered if it would all be preserved or eventually turn to dust like he knew he would eventually do or if there would be others that would follow in his footsteps to try and preserve what was left of the ape descended specie that suddenly disappeared after a long reign on the planet.

He moved out of the way so the couple could proceed deeper into the room unhindered and access to the goods that were packed within. Light streamed in through the window and danced with the particles of dust that were floating on the air currents before illuminating the stacks of wooden objects. Temo pondered the quantity of furniture that he had in the room and elsewhere in the house. He looked around at the layer of dust that was covering everything and wondered if the new reigning specie, outside a few individuals, would ever have a need for such things as dressers, tables or other furniture. Given that he only saw a small number of customers over the years seems to point in the direction that said there was very little need for furniture. He watched the two rummage through deciding what they want or not want making sure nothing fell on them or being available if they need assistance with anything.
