Honrin
Word Count → 000 ::

In spite of his feelings these days, Honrin could easily picture a different himself, with the corrupted morals as had been part of him. He breathed out slowly, and Guinevere's face percolated into his mind. His fingers clenched into fists monetarily, and winced.

Decent. He laughed breathlessly. Gold fell to green, then dragged themselves away, Been a long time since anyone's called me decent. Truthfully it was probably wretchedly unfair of him to keep on visiting her as he did, but Honrin had precious few intentional friendships as it was.

Aye, they are Honrin's head dipped down, allowing long strands of pale hair to slip forwards. Could he still hold regret for a woman he'd let go. Kenna was more a ghost than a real flesh and blood person anymore. He'd burned her hat and strode away from her memory to take hold of the purple-gem necklace about his throat.

His gaze drew back to her, and he cursed softly under his breath,

For Artoi's sake, Saga. At least he was a pretty good guy. Fingers rubbed against his temple. Honrin had no room to chastise anyone for their reproductive choices, not really, not when a 9 month old boy had turned up in his life with the word 'father' on his lips.

Fuck. He muttered, head falling back to stare at the ceiling.

'That does surprise me.' The Ursarchon admitted, watching the pale man with interest even after he pulled his own yellowy gaze from her acidic one. Honrin, from the moment they first met, had always struck her as the quintessential honourable white knight, no pun intended. Still, even as she sensed further discrepancies he'd not divulged, further to the one he had. Saga didn't particularly care, if a man wasn't entitled to his harmless secrets, what was he entitled to? She considered the list of things she'd not admitted to him, sizeable and, yet, less impressive than the list of thing's she had revealed to him. He knew all of her most impressive missteps at least.

Saga rolled her eyes. 'Don't be so dramatic.' she chided, 'Just because he landed on your shores, after the fall of his clan might I add, with a bit of a complex. Really.' Granted, she was posed to believe him, for Honrin had never led her astray before. Frankly, even if he was a dick, Saga didn't see how it mattered considering that if her older children were anything to go by, Boone would have no contact with his progeny. Besides, Oscar had been, as Honrin had put it, "a pretty good guy", and look how much trouble Daniel had made of himself.

A humorless ache set itself up inside his chest, a surprise. Saga had never known the him of before, before Guinevere, before dragging himself out of his self-destructive tailspin. The shame he had brought to his parents. He remembered the other women, well, kind-of, he remembered some of them only faintly. Some of them were faces without names, or bodies without faces.

Honrin rubbed at the scars on his chest, and he wondered if he'd planted kids in her belly too. Nameless children that would never know their heritage.

Then, it hadn't stunted Dan or Caspar any to be raised by a single parent.

Maybe they were better off not knowing him.

Honrin grimaced, idly conceding her point in that, with a wave of his hand. Once upon a time, he'd thought that he'd be a king too, a ruled with respect and prestige to his name. Maybe he'd be a little cunt too if that'd come to pass.

Y'got any names picked out? He thought to derail this topic maybe, it made him remember himself when he had been young and stupid.. and he was still stupid, just now he was old instead. Artoi.. when had he gotten so old.

'No.' The Ursarchon admitted after a short pause, evidently such things were far from at the front of her mind. She hadn't thought ahead before her boys were born either. It was only after prompting that she'd relented to have her books fetched from her house and brought to her den had she found two names that settled themselves well upon the boys. Picturing the boys as she stared into the hearth, Saga figured that she'd made good choices, both boys had grown well into names and she couldn't now picture them as anything else.

'I don't have time to think about it.' she laughed dryly. Without three sets of shoulders for the weight of the Vale to rest upon, it left Saga with very little time to do anything aside from maintaining the pack and its territory. She dreaded leaving the duties to Zuri, Sedona and Ragna, not for fear that they wouldn't cope, but due to her own attachment and pride. She knew the older women would do her proud, but she rued the fact she had to ask them for help at all. There was nothing to be done about it, however, not until the children she carried were old enough to do without her for a few hours.

Word Count → 000 :: this is the worst post im so sorry

Honrin smirked, the dryness of her words washing over him without much effect. He was used to her acid tongue and her disdainful glares, the slight barb of sharpness had no hold for one so thick skinned as he had become. The changes to himself were startling in immediate comparison and yet, he could see the progression, the softening of sharp edges.

It was interesting to be so different, and so much the same still.

Thoughts of Kjintora, and Oakley and Ty, and the one that had died. They swarmed about, angry bees to flit about his brain.

Well, why not right now? You're not doing anything special, just talking to me. He chuckled quietly. Names were a big deal in his mother culture, giving a child the strength of their ancestors or creating something new to stand upon its own merit.
