The scene had changed drastically. One moment they were lying about offspring, making up stories about travel, and then the next blood spattered into the fire with a hiss and one of the wolves lay face-first in the dirt and another had his arms wrapped around Charlie’s throat. For a moment he considered what special feeling calling the woman his mate brought him. His mate. She was his. He owned her – if not just for a few minutes.

In the few seconds of struggle, Izual had climbed to his feet and stood between Sticks’ and struggling Charlie and the other male who sat across from them, across from the fire at a time. Now they all stood in a tense circle – Izual was the calmest one of all – while their friend lay dead in the dirt. The dark blood glinted orange in the fire, and it made Izual thirsty.

He licked his lips.

”Just kill her, Stein! Kill her!” the man across the fire yelled towards his friend.

Izual threw up a waggling finger, making both of the men flinch. ”Now, now let’s not do anything brash.” As if murdering their friend was anything less than that. ”Let her go and I’ll consider letting you two walk out of here… Maybe.”

”She fuckin’ killed Riley!”

Izual rolled his eyes. ”Shut up,” he said very calmly.

The man who held Charlie struggled, but otherwise hesitated to make that move to incapacitate her – and himself. They both still grabbed for the same knife. The man on the other side of the fire began to sob. Izual shot Charlie a glance that was meant to say take care of him.

”Riley’s fuckin’ dead because of her! Why are you even thinki—“ But he was cut off by a squeal as Izual went to him and tangled his claws in the man’s hair, ripping him off of his sound footing and throwing him face-first into the fire between them. A strangled scream erupted between them and the smell of burning fur and skin wafted up into the air. The friend rolled out of the fire and writhed on the ground. He grabbed for Izual’s leg while holding his burnt face, but Izual simply stepped out of the way. It would be a few minutes – if ever – until he recovers…

Izual looked over at Charlie.

Words were spoken, but it seemed that the two bodies entangled in the dirt were in their own world. Stein was quite vocal with grunts, whereas Charlie was silent in her gritty poise. Then her opponent muscled his way on top of her, which was intensely arousing, but very much hated. Charlie made the strategic decision to let the knife slip into the dirt, and as he scrambled over her, gray eyes went keen in reminiscence. As his throat passed above her waiting jaws, she lashed out and bit hard. Her eyes widened as her tongue collided with the insides of his esophagus, and all the ballistic choking he could muster came from him in one profound muddle. Her mouth came away from the frayed man, and with her wild eyes narrowed, her black hands clamped onto him like vices. Charlie rolled them both so she was on top in a straddling position. Her bloody mouth was agape with delight as she reached out zealously, snatching the knife, bringing it way up and back down. Over and over it went as her body shook and hummed, and his body stopped moving altogether. But she still kept on, like some untapped pendulum as her thighs locked him in place.

Then all at once it stopped like a flash-flood, and she caught a glimpse of destruction, and those cold empty eyes that loomed every time she saw her own reflection. Charlie still had the gored tool in her hand, and her breathing was ecstatic, but she found the time to place the weapon in Stein’s languid fingers. She smirked slightly before closing his digits over it and patting it all soundly as if to say, ‘here, you keep it’.

The girl pulled herself from her straddle and looked to Izual calmly, then she cracked some sort of half-smile, half-frown before cackling a bit. A bony finger protruded toward the clasped hand with the knife. “He did it.” She joked, still caught in her own sadistic humour. And in some crazy way, she might've been right.

Izual cast his glance in Charlie’s direction and witnessed a struggle. Still struggling. The man on the ground groaned and whimpered, but Izual’s gaze was locked on the struggling pair. The knife was dropped in the dirt and Izual hesitated as to whether it was his move to grab for it and end Charlie’s misery. The man left the woman, climbing over her – his first mistake – and reaching for it. A quick movement and a splatter of blood was all it took the end it. Charlie had reached up and took the man by the throat in such a way that was more feral in nature than he thought she was capable of. He rasped and wheezed, and fell limply, in which Charlie rolled him over and plunged a knife deep into his chest about forty time or more.

Izual stood there, eyes wide with a pleasantly surprised grin on his face. He was truly stunned that this strange female was capable of such an act. He was definitely expecting to have to kill for her, to rescue her like a knife in shining armor. But as she placed the knife in the man’s hand and put him to rest as if she was about to bury him, Izual couldn’t help but guffaw in delight. FUCK I love you!”

Charlie approached him as if their work was done for the day, but he waggled his finger at her, too. ”There's just one more straggler left…” he spoke, a chuckle in his voice. He turned from her and dragged the man up from the ground by what few tufts of hair remained on his crispy face and head. ”Do your best, Charred,” he said, holding the man up and using his nickname for her simultaneously. It might have incited butterflies in a normal one’s bowels if the crazed Coyote hadn’t been holding up a charred man.

The wolf’s face had been entirely burnt, the skin both bloody and blistered. As he held up his arms to scrabble at Izual’s hold, they could see that those were badly burned, too. Izual wore a large grin, and the man’s eyes were unseeing. The only ones who would see what was coming were the twisted canines.

For a few seconds she simply stood there, preening before she was called again to do what she had already done twice. Her ears perked almost timidly, and she looked up at him with thankful eyes. What a gentleman Izual was! After all, he wouldn't get to claim any of these wolves for himself, they were all...for her.

Her unkind eyes gently studied the way this wolf’s body had reacted to the extreme heat. Charlie decided she didn't like the way burns looked, as they were rampant, and it just wasn't in her control the way stab wounds were. It was time she finished this amazing night the way she might dream of it ending. She came to the burnt flesh, but stopped and blinked a few times uncomfortably. Her head turned slightly to where the preciseness of the knife blade resided, but decided to impress Izual any way she could—without the knife.

In the end, Charlie used her mouth, biting the horribly disfigured man's throat. Briefly her grays peeked up at her overseer for approval, but she quickly found her own pace and eventually pulled the throat clean out. After she was finished, the girl turned away and started to cry silently, and it took everything that was in her not to turn back around and take Izual—the man who had just given her everything—to the ground. Instead she just stood there, silently, her body being filled with the foreign spasms of joy a child might easily entertain on their birthday.

Izual’s eyes flicked to the knife in the man’s hand behind her, and their victim struggled against his firm hold. Charlie’s gray gaze took him in, and for a second, Izual couldn’t have guessed what she was going to do – aside from kill him. His gaze might have been fatherly – as a proud dad looking down on his child who was being just like him. Except the situation was entirely different.

Or was it?

Izual found that his gaze had wandered to the fire, and only when Charlie’s victim thrashed in his arms did Izual snap back to reality. Charlie had gone for his throat - just like she had with her second victim - and didn't let go until his throat was meaty contents between her jaws. When the charred man lay limp and bloody in his grasp, Izual tossed him back into the fire and approached Charlie. He touched her shoulders and spun her around and clasped her face in his large hands. His eyes fell to the dark blood that glistened in her coat, and Izual licked his lips.

What was supposed to be a moment of pure appreciation quickly turned into confusion as Izual noticed the tears in the dark wolf’s eyes. ”Why are you crying?” Beside them, around them, three bodies lay – one bleeding out, one burning, and the woman who gazed eternally up at the sky with a blank, terrified stare.

It was quiet, serene, and when he turned her toward him, her dim eyes were full and clear. The question he asked received a brief moment of thought, before an answer. “I have never...I have never been so fucking happy in my entire life.” Her voice spilled.

The crisp air was much more recognizable than it once had been, and now she noticed the stars above Izual’s flickering face. She only looked beyond him for but a moment, however, and the rest of her thoughts were his. Those insatiable orange eyes seemed to consume her, pulling her in closer like oxygen to a blaze. Her heart could be heard, it could be heard, and her breathing shallowed into meager pools of respiration. Suddenly she couldn't handle being separate from him, and she forced her mouth onto his in one aggressive attack. Her fingers seemed to melt wherever they wanted, and finally dug into his large shoulder blades behind him. But she needed a different taste, similar to that of the other's—she wanted his. So she found an edge to his lip and jabbed one canine roughly into the vulnerable flesh, so that blood spilt into her mouth, into their mouth.

He had gazed down at her crystalline eyes, staring into their starry gaze, but in one quick movement, she slipped from his grasp and he found himself locked with her – mouth-to-mouth. He stood there a moment, stiff, letting it happen. He wasn’t sure what to do. He had never been the brother to seek this kind of emotional compensation for his problems. He killed, he didn’t kiss. This was Belial’s expertise – none of which he had, even after spending some time with his little sibling. There was a foreign tongue that slithered around in his mouth, and he kind of liked it.

A stray tooth found the tender flesh of his lip and pushed its way inside. He broke the kiss and yelp-snarled. He avoided her mouth, licking away the blood that formed inside of his jowls, and dipped his head low. First, his fangs found a fold in her neck, and he bit – as softly as Izual could – and then dipped lower where the blood on Char’s coat glistened in the moonlight. Some of it had transferred to him in their embrace, but most of it was still on her, still soaked into her midnight fur. With a long, hungering tongue, he licked some of it away just above her breast.

It was a moonlit dream, doused in red. An entire night spent in whatever way she pleased—no pretending to smile, or holding back all of the unrelenting violence that simply flowed on through her like blood in veins. She just became herself after all the faking, and the death she had caused was revelation after revelation, and now her head spun and burned further with the thought of hot, amorous, sex.

Her chest rumbled with whatever was inside, whatever had been given the job of dispersing blood to her mind and body, and now it all tingled in unison as his tongue ventured. She willed for him to go further down...but her hands felt his chest briefly, and she nudged herself away. The willpower required to fight off the gravity between them was monumental. It was the same feeling she had with the people from before...she wanted to let herself fall into madness as much as she lusted for him, and set the chaos in motion. All it took was one stray butterfly to cause a hurricane. But chaos was blistering fast, and so she came up for air, her obscene eyes carving about his face as she searched in frustration. The search ended abruptly as her brilliant, cold eyes hit the stained dirt with removal.

As if for reassurance, she wanted to tell him of her fear, she wanted to tell him that she did not love him. She somehow knew what love was, and whether or not she had given up prematurely, she was right to think she could not love. She was right. Then her eyes took to the blood, and the dead limbs and ears and eyes that would never articulate again—and the wicked girl smiled a twisted love-stricken smile. The newborn serial killer—for she was one in only one night—grabbed him again and leaned in his ear so her empty whisper could reach him more readily: “What if I killed you next?” She teased, her tongue flicking menacingly, her crooked grin making her intentions perfectly unclear. But she wouldn't do that, and he knew it too. He needed to remain alive almost as much as she did now; he was almost important to her somehow, almost.
