Corie - Orion

The plans had been set and Darkness would be a liar if he wasn't both excited and terrified to pass on what he knew to his dark pelted grandson. He'd prepared himself all morning for it by getting the essentials ready. He was going to be showing the boy a bit of netting, as knotting came in handy for more than one purpose. Not only that, but if the boy got it down, then perhaps there'd be a chance to hunt come noon. It was best, he thought, to think a few steps ahead rather than assume that Orion might not get it. That left more opportunities to be open, as compared to less.

Rope coils draped over his shoulder, in favor of the art rather than the bow today. They were to meet on the beach, to get a feel for proper knot work and how it effected the nets. A problem solving frame of mind. Of course, Darkness figured he'd have to help the boy, since he hadn't shifted yet, but it was the basics that the boy could get down. Basics that Darkness had never learned, and knew the weight of not knowing.

Sand seeped up through his toes, the beach wet from spring storms. It was chilly but nothing Darkness' coat couldn't handle. If Orion was to get too cold, Darkness had his Officer cloak to wrap him in.

A serious of thuds echoed as Darkness dropped the rope into the sand. He'd already worked out something for the boy to use as a helper for lacking thumbs, and was on his way to gather up some sticks when he saw the shadows coming. The shadow grew over the horizon, and Darkness was not the least bit surprised that Remus was going to be overseeing his' son's mentor at work.

“Привет, Орион! Ты привел своего отца?” Leaning to the ground, he failed to meet Remus' eye,” Ему тоже нужно какое-то обучение?”

Even Darkness could be cheeky at times, but their relationship was still hesitant and rocky. Hartt had held it together while she was alive, but without her guidance and open heart, Darkness was still protective of his daughter despite Remus making everything official.

He'd have to remind himself that today was more about Orion, than that old feud.

“Ohrieon, vie ahre doeing teu maek niets teuday. плетение сетей,” Plucking a few sticks from the sandy grass, Darkness stood to his full height after offering the boy a soft pet to his crown,” Rhiemeus, yeu ahre vielcoem tey laern, as viell.” Returning a golden eye to the boy that remained in his Lupus form out of youth, Darkness gestured to a near pile of sticks,” Vie viell nied dhe sticks feur dhie niet. Caen yeu giet dhie straieght ohnes, Орион?”

(Sorry for the super duper late reply I hope we can still do something with this ^^')

The young boy was excited, displayed in his quiet nature only by a steady wag of his fluffy tail as he padded down to the shoreline where his grandfather waited for him. With a silent twitch of his head, the boy masked his annoyance in the fact that his father trailed beside him with a quick shaking out of his ruff and picked up his pace slightly. When the shoreline--and with it the unmistakable grey-scale form of his grandfather--came into view, the dark furred boy got a burst of speed and trotted over to the old man, leaving Remus to grumpily walk down the sandy slope behind him. "привет дедушка!" The rather large pup spoke, letting out a bark of laughter at his grandfather's comment and turning a green gold eye back towards his father for a moment before smiling up at Darkness. "возможно он делает"

Remus caught up to them with a less than pleasant expression on his face. He'd had something against his father in law ever since he'd realized that the man had been teaching his son gibberish, and that they would talk to each other with noises that he could not understand. Baring a begrudging fang for half a second, the dust gold male planted himself off a bit to the side to observe whatever "training" the old man would have in store for his boy, after offering the other male a curt "Darkness."

Orion grinned as he was pat on his head, eagerly following behind the tall white furred patriarch as he explained what they would be doing that day. He heard his father mutter something under his breath but paid no mind as he couldn't exactly make out what it was that was said. Darkness' instructions, however, were well received, and the boy trotted off to the pile of sticks his grandfather had indicated, and began to rummage and dig through with his muzzle and paws in search of a few that he deemed worthy enough, pulling out a couple long and straight ones and setting them off to the side before he barked at his grandfather and wagged his tail to express that he thought he had adequately accomplished his first assignment. Picking the sticks up in his mouth the boy dragged them over to Darkness and tried to speak around them as he eagerly asked, "Uah aow?"(What now?)

Orion's enthusiasm easily wore away at the tension that might have built in Darkness by Remus' sour face, and the Hushhowl patriarch would make his very best attempt at ignoring Orion's father. Today was a day for Orion to learn something new and have fun doing it. Orion's lessons were leaps and bounds more important than the small feud that was developing silently between the two men without Hartt there to help nurture it into some sort of peace,” Riemoos,” He returned, in a stoic intonation.

The Patriarch of the Hushhowl Clan's notes grew lighter, almost something of mirth behind the rough and broken tune of a man soon reaching his elder years,” Каждый заслуживает шанс стать лучше,” He mentioned to the young Knight. It was a little bit of a jab, sure, but it was the truth. Darkness wasn't one to brag about the skills he'd learned, but learning them had made him a better man for it. It also wasn't Darkness' purpose to pit Orion against his father, so poking a bit of fun he knew would always have to be sealed up with a little parental respect. Even if Darkness didn't believe that Remus deserved it.

As the instructions were given, the big pup wasted no time in getting to work. While he did so, Darkness laid the coil of twine down to the earth and made sure that it would pull from the top of the coil and would not tangle. It didn't take too long for the enthusiastic child to come prancing back up and carry his bundle.

Kneeling beside him, Darkness gathered the sticks from his mouth and laid them beside the rope,” Теперь мы должны положить их в песок,” Charcoal hands that were littered with silvery hairs plucked one of the loose sticks from Orion's bundle, sliding it through the young boy's teeth carefully,” Я покажу тебе,” He ensured as he allowed Orion to see the stick for a moment before putting the attention on his other hand. Digging into the sand, he made a hole that was deep enough for the stick to be left a finger's length above the sand. Posting the stick and sliding the sand back over it, the stick stood upright against the earth. From there, he poked a hole a few inches away with his finger,” Теперь попробуй это. Копай здесь,” He said gently and allowed Orion to start figuring out how he was going to do it with what he had.
