The scarred up young Knight was strangely in high spirits that morning, he was sober, he and Night had decided together to take the next step in their relationship, whether or not that step was readily accepted by those around them, Remus decided that he would just have to make them see, he wasn't a villain, he wasn't trying to hurt the Hushhowl's young daughter, it was the opposite in fact, he loved her and wanted to keep her safe despite what it was that people had been saying about him since they had learned of a solitary act that Remus had committed as a hormonally unstable and not yet fully matured teenager, to a girl who was barely more than a child at the time.

In all actuality, Remus hadn't known, or at least hadn't really considered, before he was attacked for it that what he had done that day was considered to be wrong, but he had resolved himself to the moral alignment that if he had done something worth punishing, the male should be punished for it, and he was. But Night wasn't scared of the male, nor was she unwilling to be with him, so he didn't think that there was anything wrong in pursuing her now that she was an adult.

The male pondered these things as he made his way to the stables, quiver strapped to his back and newly strung bow slipped over one shoulder. He had taken to keeping Vito in the least crowded of the stables, although he was keenly aware that Night's father kept his own mount there as well, what were the odds of running into the male there a second time just now? Opening the door to the structure, the wolf walked inside and moved straight to Vito's stall, greeting the experienced war horse with a carrot from the garden and a sturdy pat on the neck, to which the great beast grunted his appreciation for the snack.

Charcoal foot-paws carried Darkness to the community storage to return the dulled training arrows he had borrowed, and to switch them out for something far more effective at piercing. The less roughsod arrows stood neatly in a quiver, and he plucked a few gently from their hold and placed them in the quiver on his back that Hartt had attained for him. Today he was going to attempt two different things at one, and one of them was something he wouldn't have dreamed about doing before Podarok came into his life.

Hunting.

It was a big step for him, but with Night having aided in Darkness' training Podarok to recall back home at a word, and several attempts at successfully coming home, he felt they were both ready. Inspecting his bow one last time, he pulled a leather strip from the end of the notch, hooked the bow on his shoulder and pulled his hair back. It was a doubled bun, looped through twice and left to hang. He wasn't the best at making beautiful updo's, but he could keep the hair out of his face for the most part while he worked. With that settled, he kept his bow over his shoulder and headed to the stables to fetch his steed and make his way out into Casa's furthest reaches for open space and a better chance of the knave archer making a kill.

Opening the stable door, expecting the walkway to be barren of life and the few horses in the stable to be curious at his entry. What he did see, however, was the very boy that had taken advantage of his daughter while she was young. Instantly, his demeanor changed. Brows furrowed and the bridge of his nose wrinkled in disgust for the boy, but after his attack on the boy and Hartt's near murder of the Cavalier, he had to tread lightly due to Cavalier law. He was an ally in pack and hadn't fought back. Let him live in his shame if that's what Luca desired of him.

Without a word given to Remus, Darkness proceeded into the stable to do what he had come for. The hot amber glare sat firmly on the Knight, despite his hands working to unlatch the stable door. Podarok ignored the tension that Darkness was exuding, and proceeded to investigate his hands for treats. Not a single sound came from the Hushhowl father as he set the horse up for bareback riding, something that Podarok seemed to prefer due to the weight of the saddle on top of what Darkness put on the horse. All the work with Honrin and Teagan was really shining through now that he could work the horse without reigns.

The dust brown gold Knight stood by his mount, preparing the tack and slowly dressing the horse to ready Vito for hunting, the young male was completely calm around the horses, they hardly judged him, they'd been constant companions to the awkward boy since he could walk around the fort unattended, and he liked to speak with them when he had no one else to talk to. He appreciated the calming aura of the experienced war horse, a quiet smile playing on Remus' face as he worked to tighten a loose strap and gave the draft another solid pat to the neck, to which he received a quiet snort.

It wasn't long however, before the dust brown wolf heard the door to the stable open once more behind him, and his ears swiveled back, without looking, Remus could already feel the air growing heavy under the weight of a gaze that burned him like fire. Silently, the man finished prepping his horse, not even daring to look up until he was leading Vito from the stall, and only then did Remus take a deep breath and turn his gaze towards the foreign two toned male. He saw the quiver and bow before anything else, and a thought popped into his subconscious that simply made it's way out his mouth before the waking mind could stop it.

"It looks like we're both going hunting. Why don't we go together?" He said, only a moment passing before the wolf was silently cursing himself in the back of his own mind, and as though Vito could tell what had just happened, the horse grunted and bobbed his head as though he were laughing at Remus. The large Knight shot a sidelong glance at the old and mischievous steed, though the equine still had plenty of power left in his strong legs. "We could... Take down something bigger that way." His ears faced away from the other male, but he stood straight in completely falsified confidence as he waited for Darkness to respond.

It seemed as Remus was going to do his very best to make sure that he didn't turn to face Darkness, and that was plenty fine with the father. Yet, when he did, the gold of his eyes didn't meet the burning embers of a fiery gaze but found the weapon instead. Naught but an instant later did Remus split his maw and blurted out a question that broke the silence and bristled the fathers fur. Go hunting together? With the boy that wounded his daughter where no knife could cut? It was sickening to think about, but there was truth in his words. Casa could use the stores for their packmates, and what better to have Remus in his presence than naught?

He couldn't be tempted to harm Night again, should Darkness be at his side.

A stoic expression, void of the subtleties of usual body language, did not convey his shift between disgust to acceptance, but the silence that he kept before he finally spoke did leave idea to the thought that the father certainly had to weight the details of a trip alongside the boy,” I ahcciept,” Were the only words that came from his graying maw.

Turning from Remus, he lead Poda out of his stall and latched up the gait. It wasn't a fluid motion, but Darkness was easily able to mount up on the horse. The shift in weight had caused the quiver to slip from his shoulder, but one hand easily corrected it when he turned to face Remus, again. He was ready whenever the boy was, and it was time to get to know the kid a little more than he'd like to. The only thought he could convince himself with was the idea the kill would be for Casa, and he'd have to live with his pack mates despite his preferences for those of them that he did not care for.

The words had come from the young man's maw before he'd even had time to register what he was saying, and in the silence between his proposal and the other man's acceptance, there was a perhaps very audible swallow of the dread that had begun bubbling up in his throat. It wasn't a long moment, but it may as well have been an hour for how fidgety the young Knight felt standing there. At last, the white and black male mounted his horse, and Remus did the same, pushing himself up and over, and then, with a tap of his heels to the mount's sides, Vito pushed forward out of the stable and then out of the fort.

Once they were past the walls, Remus kicked his mount into a faster pace, trotting alongside the other as they moved out towards the woods. The earthen Knight was quiet for the most part, the silence eating away at his resolve for as long as he could stand it, before finally, he turned his head to the father of the girl he loved and parted his lips to speak. "I'm not going to do it again... You know..." He blurted out, but these were things that had to be said eventually, whether or not he wanted to brave that storm, he couldn't ever be called a man if he backed down now. "I want her to choose, and if she doesn't choose me, if she doesn't want me, I will be out of your hair." He said, his voice calm despite the storm in his mind.

"I know you're disgusted with me, you don't want her to be around me, and, I don't fault you for that." He pressed on, uncomfortably staring off into the sky for a moment as he rubbed at the back of his neck with a scarred hand. And after a moment, he let out a sigh, as though his breath had been stuck in his throat, daring to glance in the direction of the other male, his lips downturned.

Darkness lead Podarok steadily behind Remus' lead, the stallion following behind Vtio in fine fashion and very little affected by Darkness' mood toward the idea. Out of the stables and through the gates the duo moved on they urged their mounts into a trot, moving nearly parallel beside one another. Darkness didn't have the patience to look over to Remus, his temper more idle without the sight of the boy than with it. He knew a hunting party couldn't be silent, and the two of them would have to speak on some sort of terms in order to fashion a plan. Remus likely didn't know of Darkness' disability, but with the bow taut over his chest and his training proving a more true aim, the alabaster man didn't waver at the thought of catching something. What brought him more concern was the idea of trying to aim atop a horse, moving and not entirely obedient, without ruining an arrow or wasting his time.

Before Darkness could mentally lament the idea of being in Remu's presence for longer than he had to a very certain set of words erupted from the Knight boy's mouth. Darkness pulled back on the reigns for a unexpected halt, Poda relenting with an uncomfortable snort as the heated golden glare rested on the youth's lemon eyes. It wasn't a question of what he spoke, but more a question of why. Brows furrowed as hackles shivered on his nape,” Deu I knoew?” The Russian jar of a bitter response came from the father after their brief silence and a narrowed gaze. Remus continued.

Podarok shook the crest of his crown, the length of his mane tossed about until it lay tousled against his neck and unkempt over his brow. The father listened intently, but not without the show of irritation on his usually stoic features. Remus thought it best now to offer Night a choice and Darkness' stomach wrenched at the thought,” Yeu oeffer her choiece, aeftier taeking vhat yeu wahnt?” It was something he couldn't help but ask. If Remus was trying to repair the error of his ways, he'd have to deal with an angry father's attempt at understanding, even if he didn't seem at all very willing to see the other side of the story.

What Darkness expected to be some sort of retort or defensive claim, came to be a truth out of the boy's mouth that Darkness couldn't argue. It was disgusting, what he did, and despite what he might want, it was an action he couldn't take back. Night was damaged by him, but so, he sought her heart. The question therein still slept,” Why?” It was vague, but blunt, and he needed to take a deeper breath for patience. He breathed in silence, thinking of what best way to ask his daughters' reason for an attempted riverbed grave and countless tears,” Why woueld whaent hier teu choes?” Poda shuffled his hooves to each side, before leaning into the grasses. Darkness' torso moved along with the motion, but his eye remained on Remus,” Whaet have yeu teu taek froem her? Vhaet have yeu goet teu looz?”
