It came to him via word of mouth as most things within Casa did. Without much ceremony Honrin began to gather up the things requested of him into his knapsack.

His son chattered all the way along the path to the Fort. As he had predicted, Fives Lady had survived her ordeal after the ball and was apparently in good health, again, as he had predicted.

He listened with a smile and a nodding head to his son's explanations of his antics. He remember his youth, running about with his sisters and getting into all kinds of trouble. The sadness curled, as it always did, as he thought of the three of them and how long it had been since he'd seen any of them.

They had barely made it through the gates of the Fort when Callum's granddaughter appeared and proceeded to drag his son away by the arm. Not that Risa appeared to be complaining at all.

He climbed the steps to the Courthouse and shuffled his way into the Medico office,

"Veri?! I got the stuff you wanted." He called into the office, expecting her to be working on something.

The stranger always had the need of a medical touch, be it his own gnarled fingers working needle and bone, or those of another to... help with something minor, a second opinion, or merely sharing knowledge and herbs.

He came to find Veri, for reasons that seemed almost banal other than to simply converse, to say hello and perhaps pry from her lips what could be done with the gardens... when he arrived, Jhiral found her notable by her absence, alas he could wait. He took a old chair by the window and tilted his head back the wide-rimmed hat covering his face as the man took a moment to rest tender knees.

He still lived in the Courthouse, a sometimes useful doctor, and his own patient, so hesitant to accept help from being so used to dealing with his own ailments, embarrassing to know others had seen what laid beneath the layers of leather, fabric and bandage.

Maja had popped in, of course, but only after time had passed and noticed Jhiral asleep by the window, with a light peep and a twitch of the wings, she waddled right in through the door, perched herself on the desk, then shuffled onto the chair... and waited. If Veri was going to keep her Luperci charge waiting, she would spook the silly woman.

Time passed.

A large raven stirred right in the seat of the Medico's place, hearing creaks of something rather more substantial than some ravaged foreigner, the deep tones of a familiar male had Maja slowly rise up, intelligent eyes shining of oceanic blues gazing at... Honrin? Yes, big woofer. Big woofer.

Unafraid of him, she huffed. "Veeri not 'ere." Began the croaking as she slung herself onto the desk, shaking her wings out lightly. "Am Veri now, boss-birb. You anser t'meh, Ohn-Ohn." Yes, he would answer to her, where was Veri? Why was Veri... not here? Such eloquent pondering fluttered about Maja's skull as she strutted. "M'Big Woofur, show stuff 't Maja, want see." The large bird finished, peering at the man with her wings slightly spread, exuding what can only be considered as misplaced authority.

Meanwhile, Jhiral was helpfully in his own world, a nap that started as resting his eyes by the window, which merely started as being patient, never one to be a fuss, oh well, Maja did that for him.

He was brought up short by the empty room, the sleeping man and... the bird sitting in Veri's chair. Well that was a new experience for him. Honrin hadn't seen much of the strange Ragged Man that Naya had brought to Casa, although the Denahlii expected he was at least in some way pulling his weight to still be here.

Amusement flooded as the raven began to move and speak in to rusty bird-voice. Honrin hiked the knapsack higher up onto his shoulder as it slipped down and pondered upon this quandary before himself -- ultimately he was a jester at heart and opted to go along with her fervent demands.

"Alright, one moment then." He spoke, quietly, so not to disturb the sleeping Corpse-man. The absurdity of taking orders from a bird was too hilarious not to simply go along with, it'd making for an interesting story to share.

He strode forwards and set his large bag on the table under the scrutiny of her beady eyes. Guinevere would get a kick out of this, he expected she'd mock him for rolling along with the charade -- well they'd see how well she'd mock when he was done with her.

From within the bag Honrin produced several packets of freshly picked herbs, several jars of honey and a very pungent jar of weed. For medicinal purposes, of course.

"Are they to your expectations?" He asked Maja with all seriousness.

While Jhiral peacefully napped, Maja had began to make a certifiable impression on one of the men who had welcomed the odd pair into Casa in the first place. Eloquent and majestic in all her avian finery, the large bird wiggled her feathery fluff as the big male seemingly hesitated in what to do, most likely taken aback by the absurdity of the situation.

Good, he should understand her authority now, given who's desk she perched on so dominantly. A desk belonging to somebody entirely unrelated to the situation at hand, but this was a mere technicality.

Regardless Honrin seemed to submit to the bird as he began to actually obey, slowly and quietly moving closer to place the heavy bag on the desk, Maja helpfully shuffled to one side, only keeping one eye on the far bigger Luperci in a brief expression of wariness, before ruffling her feathers again, craning her neck to better 'sniffle' at the contents as they were spread out, honestly inspecting each packet and jar, one of them in particular offended Maja from the stench, however familiar part of it was as she clacked her beak several times.

"Stink jar, much stink, very stink. Pugner-pugnen-pugni-eerr... stink." She helpfully hissed at the weed jar in particular, displeasure expressed freely as she slowly rotated, one clawed talon reaching out to tap the jar sharply (if missing the first few times). "Stinkboi." She finished, before stretching her neck out to eye the other items again. "Mmhm..." Out came an approving coo, understanding passing over otherwise glazed expression. "'Errrrbs," She continued, having an understanding of these things from scent alone that many birds wouldn't quite understand, looking to another packet, pecking at it lightly. "Erb."

Surmising the packages and jars, the sweet-smelling jar of honey caught the big birds attention as she pecked at it repeatedly, if lazily, murmuring something other than english, before casually attempting to hobble into the now-emptied bag, if only to stare at Honrin long enough to slowly bulge her eyes out, stare upwards, then emitting a horrible gargle, keeping this beautiful vocalisation going until the ragged man himself twitched and awoke with a drawling sigh. "Wake-wake, big woofer 'ere."

Jhiral yawned lightly, unfocused gaze shifting around the room as he moved the hat from his face and back onto his head properly, expecting Veri to have appeared by now, instead... a much bigger man was nearby on one side of the desk, a laden bag and various medicinal items strewn about the desk, and a empty chair on the other side where Veri was supposed to sit. The scent of Maja, a fellow Cavalier and various herbs, alongside something far more pungent assailed his snuffling nostrils. The well-clad male huffed and cracked his shoulders, offering a admittedly lame hand-wave, before touching the rim of his fancy hat in a more gentlemanly greeting.

['Och, cześć'] He finger-spoke, and Maja not being able to see this now by virtue of having nestled into Honrin's bag, offered a rather helpful croak. To which Jhiral huffed and clapped his hands together, encouraging the bird to at least sit up enough to gaze over the bag's edge as the man repeated himself and then continued with further signed words.

"Erh... Jhiral say hello, where Veri? How you? Good herbs? Herbs good." She added the last bit as a answer to the muted man's question, swiftly grooming one of her magnificent wings, entirely unconcerned with the idea that Honrin might not necessarily want a bird there.

Entertaining this charade of a meeting might eventually come back to bite him in the ass, but he thought that Veri too would see the humor of the situation, and he knew Rurik would definitely get a laugh out of it. Still, Honrin knew better than to piss off the avians of the corvid type, the crow that had followed his mother home was a sharp-beaked lady sometimes, prone to pulling out tufts of his fur if she felt he wasn't being properly deferential.

Surreptitiously he rubbed at his arm where the latest such assault on his person had taken place.

Each jar was inspected with the most careful of considerations, and again he wondered on the state of his mental capacities -- maybe his little sister was right and he was finally certifiably insane.

When the jar of weed came out, she seemed to take offense to that, hissing at the jar and tapping it with a single clawed foot. Admittedly, it did smell pretty pungent, for Honrin it was the smell of relaxation.

Honrin snorted as the bird then attempted to crawl inside of his empty bag, and merely watched her clamber on inside with a raised eyebrow. The horrifying noise she emitted wasn't something he'd been aware birds could produce. It had the added side affect of waking up the Corpse Man from his slumber.

Shaking his head in amazement, Honrin took this as a prompt to circumnavigate the chair and sit down in what was former Veri's seat, then Maja's and now finally his own. Honrin returned the friendly wave with a wry smile, and the raven continued to make noise from within the appropriated bag. Ah well, a small price for such entertainment.

"Morning." He muttered with amusement.

Ah, her majesty had deigned to pop her head out and properly translate for them upon the prompting of the Ragged Man. Rapid fire questions and along with, he suspected, some of her own observations. His golden gaze slid betwee the two odd pair, the foreign, wasted man and the large, intelligent raven.

"I'm not much sure, she told me to meet her here, but I guess shes preoccupied, or caught up with something." He stroked his chink as he spoke, deep voice flowing over the words.

"How are you settling in?" It was only polite to make conversation, and try and ignore the fact that Jhiral had been fast asleep when he'd first entered the room and Honrin had been accosted by his vocal pet.
