primeval memories

The secui's silvery fur stood out the dead landscape. The Eastern Realm's territory provided Auspicium a depressing view he had never explored before. The place was near desolate (with the exemption of a few, tiny animals and insects) and it seemed like all its life had been stolen a long time before he had arrived.
He knew almost by heart the entirety of Anathema and part of Sticks and Stones from all the time he spent wandering around like a loner, this time the blue-eyed male decided it was time to look beyond from what he knew and start searching for something new. In his search of finding objects to trade, he thought the Eastern Realms would be a good area to find rare and valuable objects regardless of the menacing vibe the place gave at the mere sight.

It was early in the morning when he arrived, the sun was just starting to illuminate the burnt remains of what he assumed was once a lush forest. He considered turning around and going back home but after having done a few considerable amounts of travel he thought he had to at least give the place a small chance. Who knew, maybe there could be treasures hidden within the roots of the dead trees, he had seen it all before.
Making his way through the dead undergrowth Auspicium started a careful inspection of his surroundings. There wasn't much to look at, all the landscape had to offer were the same shades of greys, browns, and burnt yellow, with the occasional grass and small plants that fought their way into life. As for the smells, he was able to detect a handful of rodents, though he didn't bother to run after them assuming they were most likely sick or starving. On the verge of giving up and leaving, the wolf walked up to a dead, hollow tree and started digging, slowly blackening his silver front paws with the dirt in hopes he would maybe find something worth picking up buried deep in the ground.

LET OUT THE BEAST
STEP RIGHT UP AND BE A PART OF THE ACTION. GET YOUR GAME FACE ON BECAUSE IT'S TIME TO PLAY. YOU'RE PUSHING AND FIGHTING YOUR WAY. YOU'RE RIPPING IT UP.

There were times when Izual could’ve been found within Anathema with Charlie, cutting up cadavers and burying their remains in her backyard by her apple tree; and then there were times when the sociopathic coyote roamed the lands surrounding his friend’s pack, looking for someone to take his restlessness and aggression out on. And it wasn’t often that Izual found himself in the Eastern forests, but today was one of those days.

After he had scaled down the steep, mountainous hills - only tripping up once and falling - no, rolling - about ten feet or so, Izual found the sprawling lands of the Eastern Realms to be somewhat of a treat. There would be those he wouldn’t have otherwise encountered here... Perhaps he’d locate a new community or group of canines he and Charlie could hunt later.

The crazed coyote wandered through the woods for a while, keeping these thoughts to himself, while keeping an eye on any unsuspecting passersby he might encounter. Fortunately for him, it wasn’t long until he came across some noise. When he neared, the maker had his head pretty deep in the hollow of a dead tree and a large pile of dirt formed between his legs behind him. Izual smiled, leaning casually against one of these charred trees.

He remembered when he had torn a wolf’s throat out here and he and Charlie met in these woods - or at least, somewhere nearby. These burnt woods always offered Izual good fortune.

”Find anything worthwhile in there? Careful not to dig too deep, you might dig up the past,” Izual boomed, intending to scare the man if he had not noticed Izual there before. Izual would waggle a finger scoldingly if the silver-furred wolf would look at him.

thanks for starting! (000)

//no problem!!

Auspicium had become too focused on digging he didn't notice the arrival of the stranger. When doing a search of that type, he made his best effort to focus every single one of his senses on the hole he was digging; if the smallest detail went unnoticed it could cost the zepar a hidden fortune. Of course, this was proven to be a big vulnerability when the coyote sneaked up on him and gave him a freeze.

As the stranger spoke up Auspicium couldn't help but jump from the bad scare. The only thing that went through his mind was all the bad things that could happen to him, his frightened thoughts flooded his mind with the reminder that he wasn't a good fighter, and that he didn't stand a chance against a violent canine. He quickly removed his head and claws from the dirt and turned to face the stranger, his instincts ordering him to make himself look aggressive to hopefully lure the possible attacker away.
Once he turned around he set his light blue gaze on the stranger. The stranger was a male coyote, his copper-toned eyes, and hand gestures implied he was trying to mock Auspicium. The silver secui felt a wave of relief replace part of the fear, he contemplated the possibility that the stranger was just playing a bad antic on him, though he didn't relax a single muscle in his body. "I have no past to regret, and what I am doing here is none of your business." The wolf spat, attempting to remain as hostile as possible.

IZUAL MASSACRE
I've pulled you deep into this dream, now we are locked in

Izual stood against the tree as relaxed as a cat laying in the sun and as cool as a midwinter snow. He barely flinched when the large Secui wolf backed out of the hole and faced him, spatting words that made Izual realize he misunderstood him. Izual chuckled, unwavering, as he studied the Secui brute. He was from Anathema, there was little doubt from the scent, but that mattered very little to him. He was large and muscled, but he did not scare Izual. The coyote believed he’d be able to somehow outsmart him, and perhaps separate his head from his body in one simple, quick motion.

”So, you're getting defensive? That’s cute. But it wasn’t your past I was talking about... You know the coyotes lived here once, don’t you? A huge fucking fire took it from them... and here you are digging in the very same forest. Hm. Wonder what you’ll find...”

Then Izual prowled forward, pushing from the tree to saunter towards the silver-hued Secui, attempting to circle around him, his tree, and his hole. ”Perhaps you’ll find treasure - jewels, gold, seeds maybe... or perhaps you’ll find someone’s grandparents who died in the fire... which is the true treasure?” Izual leered smugly at the wolf, circling back around, closer this time.

Even through the embarrassment of having misunderstood the stranger, Auspicium kept his aggressive and defensive behavior. The coyote was now walking in circles around him, the zepar assumed the stranger was trying to taunt and intimidate him with his words and seemingly calm attitude in order to gain an advantage. He was now sure the loner had no good intentions, he knew that more sooner than later they would end up in a fight the wolf would most likely lose due to his lack of experience. He warily observed every single step the coyote took, not wanting to lower his guard at any given point and give the coyote yet another great advantage over him.

"I have no intention to loot anybody's grave." The wolf stated harshly, his lightly-hued eyes strictly focused on the coyote. He found the coyote's little tale about the forest reasonable as to why it had the desolated and depressing aspect it had, but he firmly doubted he was telling the truth as to who used to inhabit the area, convinced coyotes wouldn't have been an exclusive population of it. He also didn't consider he was doing anything wrong, he wouldn't necessarily 'steal' someone's rotten remains. Even if he did it wouldn't be for the hell of it, he knew very well the type of riches he could gain from his pack mates or any other canine if he decided to include bones in his trading activities and would probably not feel ill from doing such thing. "And I repeat, what I am doing here is none of your business." He spat, being sure the supposedly dead coyotes buried within the lifeless forest floor had nothing to do with that particular coyote.

IZUAL MASSACRE
I've pulled you deep into this dream, now we are locked in

”You're digging a hole in a forest that was once teeming with life... How do you really think that's gonna play out?” Izual echoed, allowing his claws to scrape over the ridged bark of the tree he gripped. When he reached the other side of the Anatheman’s hole, he crouched down beside it, again oblivious to the nature of fear. Looking down, he surveyed the dirt within it, pinpointing a small white something poking out from the dirt. He reached in and plucked it from its resting place. What luck! It was the small skull of some kind of creature. It didn’t particularly look canine, but Izual didn’t know what puppy skulls looked like.

Despite being told for a second time that it wasn’t any of his business, Izual went on as if he hadn’t heard the warning. If Izual was anything, he was good at pushing into other’s personal space. He was good at pushing into other’s comfort zones.

”And here you are digging up dead puppies. You should be ashamed of yourself.” Then he proceeded to tsk tsk tsk as he held the skull up and then tossed it at the wolf, intending to have it bounce off of his form somewhere, not intending to really hurt him, however.

sorry for the wait!

The coyote seemed to be ignoring what he was saying, the stranger only focused on accusing him of looting the graves of long-gone canines. When the coyote approached him and inspected his hole, Auspicium gave two steps back just in case the stranger spontaneously decided to attack him. The clouded male could feel the fur of his pelt start to bristle, and as he instinctively crouched and bared his teeth a low growl emerged from deep inside his throat. "None of your business!" He asserted for the third time as the coyote removed the skull from the hole and taunted him, this time angrier and more defensive than before. He couldn't recall the last time he ever felt that angry, or scared. But at this point, rage was dominating every other emotion, and the zepar knew showing the coyote he feared for his safety would only bring him more trouble, which only increased his aggressiveness.

Almost immediately he was hit near his left ear, which turned the growl into a snarl and almost made him bounce. To his relief, the throw wasn't too strong to hurt him, and once the skull fell right in front of his paws he was able to examine it closely. "This is not a puppy skull!" He declared immediately, straightening up slightly but still showing himself as aggressive. After years of closely learning about similar objects, he could almost perfectly identify different types of skulls, and this particular one didn't look like the one of a canine. "This is a fox skull!" He growled once again, taking a step forward and partially protecting the skull with his long legs.

It's easy to understand why the stranger would be confused, but with a simple glance, he knew not only the size- but the skull structure itself didn't quite belong to a canid pup. "And if you did care about these remains you would not be throwing them around!" He added, baring his teeth once again, not sure about what the stranger would do next.

"Speech". Thinking.
