Camelia!

POSTED: Tue Dec 13, 2016 11:44 am

A silver figure walked through the coastal plain. She was petite, below the five-foot mark which wasn't normal for most Luperci. She was dressed in long-sleeved mini-dress with a hood, protecting her from the Nova Scotia cold that her desert-adapted fur couldn't protect her from. White leggings covered her long legs and a newly-carved pendant rested over her heart. It was the shape of a crescent moon, a memory of her old home. Her mismatched green eyes held a broken look and she wandered aimlessly. Black hair curtained her left eye and large ears dominated her narrow face.

Numb, that was all she felt right now. Midnight Shores' disbandment had shattered her. It was her sun and moon for the brief five moons she had spent there. Then her pack mates had gone missing, her Centauri and Arcturus had vanished. The vixen had gone on as much search parties as she could, hoping that her keen nose could help track down the leaders, but to no avail. Did she try hard enough? Could she have gone on more search parties? The jackal mutt knew that she had pushed herself to near-exhaustion, going on every search party possible and did everything she could. But that wasn't enough.

The former Midnighter grieved for the loss of her pack mates and Midnight Shores. The island pack had died in her mind and she grieved for that like she grieved for a loved one. She should have spent more time there instead of wandering away. She only knew a few pack mates since the medic often roamed outside the pack, searching for herbs that she could have gotten at the Avalon. Why did she do that? She could have helped around her pack more. Had anyone come to her for medical assistance? Did they even know that she was a healer?

Was Midnight Shores' disbandment a work of Fate? The green-eyed female had no belief in gods but she was starting to believe in Fate. Fate caused things to happen. Did Fate snatch away the Midnighters? The healer had found no scent trails or anything that would suggest something else. Fate was the cause of the break up, she believed that.

The moon-washed maiden had become broken inside. She would be fine one moment, and the suddenly the numbness and grief took over. She wandered away, pondering the disbandment and wondering what she could have done. The loss of her pack had impacted her greatly. The monochrome fox had began to not be as alert as she used to be and she struggled to smile. Some days, she wouldn't even talk. She had changed.

Rarely did she aimlessly wander past the borders, preferring the safety that Sapient's borders provided her with for her walks. Yet, Camellia had been venturing past the borders more and more these days. Perhaps she was searching for adventure, or instead just a change of scenery. Most of her small adventures brought her to Amherst, though this one did not. She was not exactly sure where her paws had lead her, trusting her own judgement (which was possibly a mistake).

The terrain surrounding her was unfamiliar, of course. There were many places which she had not been, so many lands left unexplored, and she was perfectly content to keep things that way. However, it was a bit concerning now as she looked around her. She wore a fur-lined cloak she'd dug up, taking it only after she'd determined that no one would be using it anytime soon and that she could return it if anyone asked her about it, which she pulled closer around her. The winter breeze chilled her nose and her ears. Camellia preferred the spring and summer and the beauty and warmth that the seasons brought with them.

Her shoulders sank as she let out a visible sigh. A silhouette in the corner of her vision drew her attention, a petite and pale luperci making her narrow her eyes. Camellia had never seen anyone smaller than herself. Genuinely curious, she approached, her steps quiet and cautious as she moved closer. "Um, hello?" the Onuban greeted, wondering what had brought them here. Of course, they could be wondering the same thing about herself. Camellia brushed a stray strand of hair that had escaped from her bun away from her face, watching the other luperci closely.

Avinalora didn't notice the signs of a presence, she didn't really care. The normal signs that would have her senses tingling slid off of her like river water. But as always, the senses managed to punch through the barrier, flooding her with information. The vixen smelled flowers, a dog, and Sapient. Something that wasn't too hard to identify because of her interaction with Sapient. It was a female and soon the sound of steps came to her.

The fox maiden turned around soon enough and found her mismatched green orbs staring into a pair of blue eyes. The woman's features were discernible, even with her eyesight. The female was a mixture of pink and orange pastels with floral clothing. The woman seemed to have no tail in sight and that made her wonder. She flicked her own tail, a fox-like brush and then the Sapien offered the now-loner a greeting.

"Hello." The monochrome fox said, her eyes glassy and broken.

Camellia Amaranthe
And these are the words you wish you wrote down.

The greeting was small, and Camellia carefully watched the face of the petite woman, her eyes seemingly glossed over and in a way portraying some deep emotion that the Onuban could not really comprehend. Camellia hesitated, watching her for a moment, hand half-raised and clenching into a small fist. Slowly, she took a few steps forwards, wondering if she should offer some assistance to the female. The dog could not possibly know what was going on, why she seemed so distraught, although some motherly instinct buried within her sent her moving closer towards the jackal with her eyes widened slightly, making herself as non-threatening as possible (not that she was threatening in the first place).

"Are you okay?" Camellia asked, her words as quiet as they always were. Blue eyes watched her carefully, looking her over once, wondering how she got to be so small when she didn't look like a dog, and Camellia had only seen dogs like herself who were so much smaller than wolves or even coyotes. "Is your pack nearby?" she questioned, voice still soft, hoping that she wasn't asking too many questions. There was a hint of concern in her voice, wondering how someone so small could manage on their own.

Sorry for the wait!

Avinalora's mismatched green eyes flicked to the woman's hand. Her eyesight wasn't very good at this point and she could make out what seemed like a closed fist. It had a shape that was different from an open hand, though she could be wrong. Was this some sort of greeting gesture? The vixen knew that there were different languages, but were there different kinds of greetings? Her head slightly cocked to one side as she squinted at the gesture.

And then the Sapien asked the fox maiden if she was okay. That confused her since she did not appear to be injured or sick. Maybe it was because of her small size? She was much smaller than most since she was a jackal and had not been nursed by her birth mother. The silver canine wasn't aware that her eyes showed her broken soul, she hadn't seen a mirror.

"Just a bit cold." The jackal medic said with a shrug. And then the woman asked if her pack was nearby. That question stabbed her heart, bringing back the memories of Midnight Shores. Her old pack was nearby, across the water but it was no longer there. The tiny female knew that her sister had set up base camp in one of the old houses in Colchester, but was that home? Without thinking, she grasped the pendant that rested on her chest, remembering Midnight Shores.

"Not anymore." The monochrome fox said sadly.

194 agreed upon ooc ending is that camellia hung out with avi for a little bit until avi's cNPC came along and then they parted ways~

Camellia watched the girl's eyes and quickly lowered her hand, unsure of what she was going to do with it in the first place. She shivered, still wondering how the stranger had gotten to be so small. Camellia had never really met anyone who was shorter than she was, considering everyone in Sapient seemed to be quite tall. She blinked and pulled the cloak she wore tighter around her shoulders, wondering if she should offer it to the other.

She looked around, searching for any others who might be nearby, though her gaze returned swiftly to the green of the girl's eyes and the way they seemed to conceal some great amount of sadness, something she attributed quickly to what she had said in response to Camellia's question about her pack.

Not anymore.

"Let's get you warmed up, then," Camellia said softly, unfastening her cloak and quickly feeling the cold wind against her shoulders. She held it out to the girl so that she might wear it. The cloak was not in the best of conditions -- tattered and worn, Camellia only wore it because she did not want to ruin her nicer clothes.
