The patch of blood darkened and rusted, this did not bother her. She was used to blood as a part of her life. His scent though, that was to be removed for safety, or so he said.

So she scrubbed the floor to remove what she could, peppered the ground it with wild mint and honeysuckle and then hid it away beneath a spare pelt, creating a small area to sit by the fire and enjoy its warmth up close. Now attention turned to the conundrum of her bedding, which would be harder to neutralize his smell. Lucia didn't want to, but again, was following his directions. She allowed herself to enjoy just one more night, sleeping in the furs that still smelled of him. It was a comfort in the lonely hours of the morning when she awoke from another nightmare to a perceived closeness, she didn't feel so afraid.

Again, another day passed her by with no sighn, and Lucia leaned against the door-frame -- peering out into the sunny, vibrant world, she sighed.
