I've marked it mature due to language and mention of rape. If it bothers you, I can change it. I also marked it mature because things might get a little bloody

A small shape padded through the winter forest. The creature was impossibly tiny and wasn't like many of the species that roamed 'Souls. She was lean and skinny with long legs. Her muzzle didn't taper and her face was narrow with big, long ears. A long, bushy tail swayed behind the vixen and was almost as long as her. Her fur was short, painfully short and she shivered every so often. The waif seemed so fragile and delicate, made of glass and porcelain. She stepped daintily through the path, her paws leaving barely any divots in the snow. A small lonely thing walking in the woods

The fox maiden's fur was the color of silver snow, almost like a moonbeam in hue. It blended in with the winter scheme. Her light mercury fur attempted to fluff up to counteract the cold but it was desert-adapted and didn't have much length or thickness to speak of. That sort of fur wasn't so great for Canadian winters. A saddle of darker monochrome hues covered her back, stretching from her ears and stopped just before the tip of her tail. It was grizzled at the edges and ebony hairs were scattered throughout the saddle. A grey-scaled creature in the cold wilderness.

A pair of forest eyes stood out from the winter background. They differed slightly in hue, the left a shade lighter than the right. The right eye was like Japanese laurel leaves. The left eye was a beautiful forest green that complemented the other eye. The silver hybrid's nose was black as well as her skin and paw pads. Three small scars in the form of a claw mark on her left ankle showed pink skin and she kept the leg off the ground. The woman was crippled and malformed.

The Luperci wore a small cloak. It was wrapped around her neck and went past her rump and the edges extended down past her torso. It was fur-lined and hooded. It was also a silvery-white hue and was pure white on the inside. If one could see, there was a small bandage on the fox's shoulder. And on the other side she had a small satchel. She appeared humanized despite being in Lupus form.

Avinalora was shaken after the attack that had occurred in the Black River Reserve. She had never fought before and thank what every higher power out there that Skana had come to her aid. The wound the lone wolf had inflicted on her had responded well to the herbal treatment which included a mixture of many antiseptic herbs such as dock and penta poured on the wounds to kill off infection. And then the herbalist had treated it with a mixture of tormentil and horse sorrel in order to purify the blood. And then she had applied a mixture of wound-treating herbs such as marigold and horsetail. It would heal but it might scar since her desert-adapted fur and skin had been sliced through like a leaf by the loner's claws. So now the Anatheman didn't go near the north and would stick to the south.

The jackal medic wished that she could fight. But in most of her forms, she was easily defeated. In the petite vixen's Optime form, she couldn't run due to her crippled ankle which couldn't bend. Even if she could run, her defected eye couldn't see the ground as the impaired Zepar could see barely two feet in front of her. She had a dagger but only had the most basic idea on how to use it. She barely knew any sort of Optime combat and the jackal mutt was tiny in that form. Her Secui form could put up a fight but she was about the size of an average wolf and she didn't weigh very much. Even in that form, the ground was blurred. And in Lupus form the fox-like Luperci was tiny, one could easily throw her with a flick of a paw. She had fought once in the feral form but she had been thrown off that bastard's muzzle easily. The only good part about the crippled msiden's tiny shape was the speed and that she could actually see the ground. But it was a fact, there was no way she could be a warrior.

Maybe that was the reason Fate had snatched the escort party away? Did he only value fighters? Were the argent female's defections enough to cause the being to smite Midnight Shores? As a punishment? Her shattered mind had been making a sort of deities for her, something that she had never thought that she would do. Kismet, Fate's sibling favored the fates of hunters and Moirai favored the fate of healers. But that was all that the shattered soul was able to conceive. Why did she do that?

The fall of Midnight Shores had damaged the ex-Midnighter's psyche. She felt as though she would never be cheerful; she felt every emotion but happiness. She began to stop caring but the knowledge of her family had enabled her to push through. The broken bird would have let the man kill her if it wasn't for the damage it would cause to her wards, sister, and friends. That was the only thing that kept her going. The path to heaven must run through miles of clouded hell. There better be something good at the end for the damaged mind.

And then the silver-haired canine was shaken out of her musings by another's presence. Her keen sense of smell and hearing picked up quite a bit of data before she even saw the creature. It was a Luperci, a male one judging by his scent. She detected a wolf-dog hybrid and a loner. The healer could also tell that the stranger was on two legs.

And speak of the devil. A blur stepped out from the forest. If the handicapped jackal could have been able to see with clarity, she would see a coffee and grey wolf dog that was almost double her height. the hybrid was in Lupus and then her blood went cold when she heard him speak.

"Look here! A precious little female! And no male scent on her makes her claimable by me." The man said. He was going to rape the moon-washed maiden? And without thinking, she bolted. She was fast and weaved through the undergrowth. There was no way she would let him catch her. The tiny jackal probably wouldn't survive if he did.

And then the pixie heard the sound of paws behind her and the crushing of foliage. "Bitch!" The man yelled as he pursued her. Already the silver belle's wounded shoulder was starting to throb. It wouldn't be long until she re-opened the wound. She wouldn't be able to run as quickly if she did and the brute might catch up to her.

And then the monochrome fox tripped, tumbling through the undergrowth and into a clearing. She laid there in the snow, in shock as the male stalked after her.

Safire had been hunting on this frigid winter day, but with no luck. It was absolutely freezing and for whatever reason there were no animals out today. She shivered as she made her way deeper into the Dampwoods, wishing that she had something to cover herself with. She could've brought the blanket from the hotel with her, but that would've been too much of a hassle. Besides, she was probably going to go back home soon anyway. As the rusty jackal stepped over branches and made her way through the snow, she witnessed a few figures in the distance. Was she not alone? Wary, she continued watching from afar, inching closer, albeit very slowly. It appeared that there was a silver hued jackal, one that Safire didn't recognize. Despite being in what seemed like lupus form, the stranger looked rather humanized, wearing some sort of cloak. The coywolf began getting concerned when she saw another figure, seemingly emerging out of nowhere - a coffee hued wolfdog that was bleeping massive. He seemed to approach the other stranger with some sort of sick enthusiasm. The Page felt a knot twist in her stomach at this sight, but despite his shouting, she couldn't hear what he was saying.

Maybe they know each other. Safire hoped to fuck that they did, because that would explain almost everything. But an off feeling in her gut made her feel like they didn't, and something sickening was about to happen. Her ears perked up when she heard the man called the stranger a bitch. What the hell was his problem? Safire started sprinting towards him.

"What did you just call her?!" If she was going to have to defend herself, she was really lucky she was in Secui form from all the hunting.

Avnalora thought that all was lost when she fell. She laid there, numb as she braced herself with her eyes closed. This was the end. And then a feminine voice called out and then the vixen opened her eyes. She could make out a ginger form growing larger until the argent jackal was able to make out details. She recognized the jackal body structure of this woman. Slender build, long muzzle, and big ears were the key features. And the smell confirmed it.

The wolf stopped to glare at the woman interrupting him from taking his quarry. A snarl rumbled through him as she saw the female was equal in size to him. Why was she interfering? "This doesn't concern you!" The wolf-dog snarled as he looked at her. Why did females always have to be so difficult? But if he beat her, he would have a more suitable victim since the jackal was so small.

And then the jackal mutt gathered her wits and rose. Then she ran away from the man and darted into the best structure she could find which was a thicket. Another growl echoed through the stranger as his original victim ran. He forgot about the orange female and stalked over towards the monochrome fox, his eyes full of lust.

It seemed clear to Safire that this stranger was up to no good. Thankfully, they were roughly the same size as each other, and this man seemed to be getting aggressive. Her ears perked up again as she heard the man yell at her. None of her concern? The Courtier let out a warning growl in response, showing that she wouldn't take any stranger's shit. Something was wrong, and suspicious about all this. She watched as the jackal ran away, and as the wolf followed, seemingly forgetting about Safire. She had no idea what the hell the context of this was, but she figured she had to do something. Safire sprinted full speed behind the man, aiming to harshly tackle him to the ground. Maybe this would slow him down for a bit.

Avinalora thanked the Moirai that the woman had come to the rescue. She didn't stand a chance against the wolf-dog and the stranger woman was saving her life. The silver-haired vixen just hoped that she was a capable fighter since the man was quite large. With ears pinned to the back of her head, the moon-washed medic stared out with her mismatched forest eyes that brimmed with fear.

Then the silver belle took another sniff, taking in the woman's scent. And then she recognized a pack-scent that brought back bad memories. The jackal mutt remembered when she was a loner, a big yellow brute attacked her and Jarix because they were jackals. She knew that she shouldn't judge a pack for one member, but the snowy she-jackal was a bit wary of the woman now despite sharing similar breed and being saved by her.

The rapist turned as he was tackled by the woman. He snarled and tried snapping at her.

Safire flinched at the man's snarl, then aimed a claw right at the stranger's muzzle, hoping to leave a gash. The man was a strong canine, extremely large and brutish. Safire was glad that she had seen him at the right time, because who knew what he would've done to the silver jackal woman. She only hoped that she could hold her own against the wolf, because she didn't want to suffer a nasty fate. The wolf lunged at Safire, clawing at her chest. The rusty jackal yelped, and cursed Ra for the scar he had left. She let out a warning growl, slowly walking towards the lupus formed stranger. Her tail stuck straight up, signalling that if he did not leave Safire and the silver stranger alone, he would only make things harder for himself. Safire was bluffing, of course, this man was rather large and she was pretty exhausted from the fight, but she didn't want him to cause any trouble.

Safire took a quick glance at the other jackal again. She didn't recognize her anywhere, but she smelled of herbs. Safire didn't know what pack smelled like herbs, but then again she barely knew of other packs save for the ones closer to the Court. However, the woman smelled a little bit like... Anathema?

The orange jackal then started interrogating the man. "What do you want? Why are you attacking this woman?"

Avinalora's large ears were pinned to the back of her head and her eyes were wide with fear. The two Luperci clashed and her hackles rose as she smelled blood. The silver jackal could make out crimson staining the woman's bright fur and scarlet drops in the white snow. She hoped the wound wasn't fatal, but her medical knowledge told her that it wasn't judging by where it was. But she was still scared.

And then the two broke apart and the rusty canine stepped forward, her posture indicating dominance over the man. The wolf snarled but he was starting to regret attacking the jackal. It wasn't worth the trouble fighting over the tiny creature. But then the bleeding stranger began asking him questions.

"She looked like an easy victim." The loner said with an evil smile. He preferred weaker females who wouldn't put up much a fight but he didn't count on a cavalry coming in. "But I guess that it isn't worth fighting over a scrap of fur." He said before he turned and walked away, disappearing into the woods.

The fox maiden's mismatched green eyes stared up at the Secui. She didn't know what to do; she was in shock and frozen with fear

(ooc: its perfectly fine!)

Safire narrowed her eyes. "An easy victim for what?" Snarling, she traced forward towards the man, bright orange paws leaving their mark behind on the snow. She hoped to corner him, but how? And why was he being so vague? Of course a crook would choose to be vague, but the Courtier was too naive to know that. However, he called her a victim. He was pretty self aware that he was doing something wrong, so he might as well have told her what he was doing.

Despite her advances on him, the man didn't seem to want to put up much of a fight anymore. Scrap of fur? Is that how little he thought of the poor jackal? The canine just walked off, his figure becoming smaller and smaller in the distance. Once Safire's adrenaline levels evened out, it just hit her how much he managed to hurt her. She gasped as she pawed towards the wound in her chest. It wasn't a fatal one, thank Ra, but it was pretty fucking awful.

Disregarding her pain, she turned towards the silver stranger. "Are you alright? What happened?"

Avinalora processed the man's words silently. She didn't give a shit about what this man thought of her. He was a bastard and a rapist. He could gladly burn in hell for all she cared. Moirai must be looking out for her. The Courier had come in just in time. The rusty girl didn't seem to get what he had said. The vixen was an easy victim for anything.

The fox maiden shakily got to her feet. She wasn't much bigger than a pup. She could smell blood in the air and it came from her rescuer. She remembered her interactions with the yellow brute who was a Courier, but this woman had saved her life. And the silver lady was a bit partial to jackal hybrids. The ginger female could be trusted.

"You're injured. The monochrome fox said. She didn't realize how shaky her words were until they came out. She didn't like how it sounded so she centered herself and then spoke again. "I'm a healer and I could help you. It's the least I could do." The winter wraith added.

"You really don't have to do that! What about you? Are you okay?" Safire was fine with putting herself aside for a moment, after all, she wasn't the one who was getting tracked down by the stranger. She noted that the silver jackal's voice seemed shaken by the events that just took place.

The orange Courtier turned her eyes down for a second, teal spheres observing her bleeding scar. "Oh yeah, about that..." She gasped as a sharp pain resonated throughout her chest, hands clasped over it. It had been so long since she had been injured like this, let alone by another canine. Usually her bruises and scars were caused by her own stupidity driven feats, but this was different. "Nevermind what I said before, maybe I do need help." Safire offered a slight laugh.
