A small figure strolled through the Dampwoods. She was on the tiny size of the Luperci scale, a small jackal. She didn't weigh much either with her skinny body. She didn't look like a jackal, to be honest. Her foxlike tail made her seem like a fox Luperci, but there was no such thing. She had long legs that made her seem like she would be fast, if only. She had long ears that looked too big for her head. She had a narrow face with a non-tapering muzzle.

She stood out from the greens, looking like a piece of snow. Her fur was the color of moonlight, an abnormal color for a jackal. A grey saddle ran down her back, marking her as a jackal. Scattered through the saddle were black hairs. A mop of black hair was pulled away from her face into a ponytail. She has a single green eye.

She wore a lot of clothes even in the summer. A grey long-sleeved shirt was worn under a black leather jacket. The jacket had a cloth hood, a cloth trim on the bottom, and on the sleeves. She also wore a pair of jeans that were modified for Luperci use. She also wore two necklaces. One was a wooden pendant that was carved into the shape of a crescent moon. She also wore a copper amulet in the shape of a moon with an arrow. She also carried a satchel.

Many scars ripped across her skin. Most of them were covered by her clothing except for one. A big one that stood out. An empty eye socket with four scars ripping across it. The scars were a bit fresh and stood out against her silver fur. She walked a bit slowly and was skinnier than usual.

Avinalora remembered her exchange with the child before everything. She had never considered taking an apprentice before. Besekel had keen eyes and a thirst for knowledge. He was also curious which was good. The kid hadn't shifted yet, though she felt that when she had, she might consider taking him as her student. The vixen had taught her ward, Luna in herbs though she didn't know why she was feeling off about it. Maybe because it was someone else's kid.

The fox maiden knew that there were other healers in Anathema. Innya and Maelyx were the most trained, though there was always a need for healers. The jackal decided to go out to gather even more herbs since a lot of stocks needed to be filled after the sickness. She missed the Avalon in Midnight Shores. But, she wouldn't dwell on it. Bad memories would only come back to her.

The winter wraith stepped through the Dampwoods, sniffing the air, She used scent a lot to make up for her bad eyesight. She walked slowly and carefully. She really didn't want to fall, especially now. She had a lot of scars on her body and she didn't need any more. The herbalist also had to return to her pack-mates and it was harder to heal people with a scratched hand or something that would stop her from returning to duty. She had just been promoted to a higher rank and now she had to prove that she was ready for it.

The ghostly jackal sniffed out the scent of chamomile and feverfew. Both herbs had been depleted because of the sickness that had almost killed Anathema. She slowly got on one knee, stifling some curses as she felt pain from her leg. She grabbed the bottle out of her pocket and took her dose of pain medication.

The moon-washed medic began picking leaves from the plant. And then a familiar scent pierced the air. "Eclipse." The fox-tailed female said as an elegant grey and black tabby padded into view. The feline's bright blue eyes looked bright and happy. The cat padded over to her.

"You always need an escort." The cat said with a purr. The pale pixie's ears flicked in irritation and her tail lashed. She didn't know why people thought she was so delicate. The Empusa was fine. Yes, she had one eye, was small, and nearly died, and was nearly blind. But, she was fine.

"No I don't." The monochrome fox said as she picked the stalks and dropped them in her satchel.

dream beneath the golden sun

Myra snuck Snowdrop out of the pack again. One of these days she would get caught stealing the horse out of the pack but hopefully today wasn’t one of them. She already felt like Snow drop was hers. She believed it in her mind, but she knew that it was the pack’s horse. It wasn’t like she was going out and trading her for something else though. She was taking out the poor horse out. She probably hadn’t been exercised in a long time. Thinking about her mother she doubted it very much but stuck with her as an excuse to take the horse out.

She found her way headed north again, though this time she went further than she had before. It was strange to her. She passed the clear meadow that she’d stayed at when she met Kaimu and went further towards the forest ahead and the mountains behind. She wanted to see them eventually but this new forest, as she came into them was something of its own. It wasn’t anything like the sugarwoods. It was a forest much like it, but it has its own feel. Myra liked it. She slowed Snowdrop to a creep as she knew the horse was not stable in the forest and got down off her back to lead. Pumpkin, who had been sitting in the saddlebag pulled herself out of it and sat on the saddle.

Myra caught a white shape in the distance and perked up a bit. The horse noticed too and so did Pumpkin. The ginger cat and the horse were the only wary ones. Myra having had no bad interactions was confident that she was not going to be harmed but this one. Then she noticed something different. Something Myra was not used to. The woman ahead of her was… much shorter than Myra! Myra looked at Pumpkin who lifted her head knowingly. She noticed too. Myra was by far the shortest wolf in the pack. This female however, was shorter, though her ears were long in comparison. She couldn’t see the whole of her body as it was covered in clothing, which seemed odd to Myra, yes she had her purple bandana around her neck, but that was it. It was not even considered clothing! “Hello!” She called out from where she was which was a good ten feet or so away from the other. She didn’t want to startle the other woman nor did she want her thinking Myra was stalking her in any way.

Avinalora got up with a hiss of pain and a small amount of mature language. Her leg hurt as per usual, especially when she got down like that. She plucked her bottle out of her jacket again. She'd taken it before, but another small dose wouldn't hurt. She always needed it for pain and she needed it to work. The pain wasn't entirely erased, it still came back in smaller pangs but not the sharp jabs or constant pain. The vixen took only half of her normal dosage as she was on her feet. Just in time for the sound of horse hooves and footsteps to reach her ears.

A quick sniff in the air revealed quite a bit about the person. The winter wraith smelled a Cavalier which made her not so welcoming to this individual, but it was a female that smelled young, a kid. The scents of cats and horses were also woven into the kids scent as well as wolf and a hint of dog. Eclipse sat down, looking as elegant as ever, looking off in the direction of the noise. Casa di Cavalieri wasn't her favorite pack since the fox maiden believed that the pack was responsible for the disbandment of Midnight Shores. But, she wouldn't be unkind to the young stranger. She didn't want to damage Anathema's reputation even more than it already was.

The girl called out to the ghostly jackal and she turned around. The grisly scars covering the left side of her face were revealed. She hoped the kid wasn't squeamish because that would be unfortunate. She allowed a skosh of a smile to grace her face, making her seem a bit more approachable than her scars screamed. The scars that the fox-tailed female bore also seemed to be a sort of armor for her, keeping some people away. She didn't know if this armor would work on the child. She didn't know if she wanted it to work or not.

"Hello," the moon-washed maiden said in a somewhat friendly tone. She tried not to let her biases ruin Anathema's reputation. She decided to make conversation by introducing herself. "I'm Avinalora, Empusa, or lead healer of Anathema." She said and then the silver and black tabby introduced herself "And my name is Eclipse."The monochrome fox's tail waved in the air in a somewhat friendly manner, trying to be friendly and boost her pack's reputation, especially around Casa di Cavalieri.

dream beneath the golden sun

Instead of staring and making faces when the older woman turned Myra’s smile grew a little. She was used to missing eyes and scars. Her uncle who passed away only a short while ago had a missing eye. It never frightened her and when she was a puppy Skoll had one as well. It was not uncommon to the girl, though the question that did come to mind was what happened. It did look fresh, well more than the other two canine’s she knew.

Myra walked slowly toward the white woman and stopped at a good enough distance. She knew little to nothing about the pack that she smelled on this woman, but with the mixture of many wolves Myra knew she was from a pack. Which one she didn’t know. She was still learning about them and though she was told to stay away from three in particular, she wasn’t sure why entirely other than they were “bad” packs. Myra didn’t always listen to her parents though. The woman introduced herself as Avinalora and a lead healer though she knew at once the pack she spoke was one of the once she learned against, but this woman was a healer, why would she be so bad? Myra would put judgement on reserve. She had not seen any wolves hostile to her pack or she would certainly have the bias against whoever was against her own but they were all at peace at the moment and Myra was keen to understand more about the world even if that meant having to go behind her parents back

“My name is Myra Garcia, this is Snowdrop and that is Pumpkin.” Myra said, first pointing to the horse then to the cat that was sitting on the horse. Pumpkin wasn’t up there for long. She heard the other cat speaking and jumped down to investigate. She stood near Myra, still being young and new to the world herself, she watched the other cat with curiosity but said nothing. Pumpkin was capable of high speech as she grew up in with Myra and her brothers. She was usually open to communication but it was rare for her to meet her own kind; “I was getting a feel for these woods.” Myra said breaking the short silence. “They are beautiful, and a little different from the ones near my home.”
