Another trouble with my graphics log

Why does my graphics log hate me so much?

POSTED: Tue Aug 23, 2016 4:41 am

So I edited some of Avinalora's old tables for Adrian and then I posted them on my graphics log via Adrian's account. Then I look at the first post I made with Avinalora's account and graphics tables one, four, and five now look like Adrian's.

I looked at the code for Avina's post and it is exactly the same, yet her tables look like Adrian's! What did I do wrong this time?

From a quick glance it appears you are using the same class names for both Avinalora and Adrians tables. Give me 10mins; just putting the baby down for a nap, then i can fix for you / write up explanation on how to avoid in the future :D

Edit: Explanation on what happened ~

Using the following table to explain:

Avinalora Silverfrost
""
| |
WORD COUNT

Template by Andi

Code: Select all
<div class="Free1"><div class="Free1-name">Avinalora Silverfrost</div>
<div class="Free1-lyrics">""</div>
<div class="Free1-img"></div>
<table class="Free1-bar"><tr><td class="Free1-ooc"><center> |  | </center><center></center></td><td class="Free1-word">WORD COUNT<br>
</td></tr></table>
<div class="Free1-in">

<p>
</p>

<hr width="300">
<div class="Free1-credit">Template by Andi</div>
</div></div>

<style type="text/css">
.Free1 {width:560px; padding:15px 15px 15px; margin:0px auto; text-align:justify; }

.Free1-name {font-family: 'Tulpen One', cursive; font-size:50px; line-height:40px; letter-spacing:2px; text-align:center; color:#464a51; text-shadow:#c3c3c3 1px 1px 4px; }

.Free1-lyrics {font-family: 'Ruthie', cursive; font-size:32px; line-height: 15px; letter-spacing:0px; text-align:center; color:#625856; text-shadow:#464a51 1px 1px 4px; padding-bottom: 0px;}

.Free1-img {width:559px; height:105px; background-image:url('https://i.imgur.com/qz8FHql.jpg'); background-position:top center; background-repeat:no-repeat; border:0px; margin 0px auto; border-radius: 15px 15px 0px 0px;}

.Free1-word {text-align:center; background-color:#625856; color: #fff; font-family: 'Amatic SC', sans-serif; margin:0px auto; font-size:16px; padding:10px; border-left:2px solid#fff; width:25%; vertical-align:middle;}

.Free1-in {padding:10px 5px 10px 5px; margin:0px auto;}
.Free1 p {text-indent:25px; color:#000; font-family: 'Patrick Hand', sans-serif; font-size:16px; margin:0px auto; padding:5px;}
.Free1-credit {text-align:center; background-color:#625856; color: #fff; font-family: verdana, sans-serif; margin:0px auto; font-size:12px; padding:10px; width:100%;}

</style>
</style>
<link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Patrick+Hand' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
<link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Amatic+SC|' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
<link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Ruthie' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
<link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Patrick+Hand' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
<link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Patrick+Hand' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
If you look at the css, you'll see class names that i've highlighted in bold within the snippet below.

.Free1 {width:560px; padding:15px 15px 15px; margin:0px auto; text-align:justify; }

.Free1-name {font-family: 'Tulpen One', cursive; font-size:50px; line-height:40px; letter-spacing:2px; text-align:center; color:#464a51; text-shadow:#c3c3c3 1px 1px 4px; }

Essentially, think of this as your tables name. Tables load their corresponding css, so in this case Free1 table is loading Free1's style -- so when you have 2 tables called Free1 they'll load the same css/style, which is why both of your characters tables appear the same, since they are both named the same.

To avoid this, simply swap out all the "Free1"'s in the coding with something like Avinalora1 -- this is doubly important when using templates, to avoid clashing with another players table if you are both using the same template, with the same name!

Hopefully this makes sense?

I can swap over your code names now for you -- lemme know if you'd like to give it a shot or would prefer a helping hand :3
