Dye-ing To See You

Morty; Courthouse; Medico Rooms

OOC: Bit of a lame thread title, but given circumstances thought it was a good idea.

He had really been neglecting going to the medico rooms recently and doing - well, basically whatever it was that Morty happened to want him to do, even if it happened to be something almost pointless or small in nature. So it more than likely about time he changed that right? That was all what brought Kira padding first towards the entrance to the large courthouse before proceeding further into the building and in the general direction of the rooms that were designated to the medico's use. It was only as the silvery male approached the door that led further into the rooms that he found himself pausing momentarily, plaving a forepaw upon the door frame and leaning inside more in an attempt to at least try visually locate the dark female that was the pack medic, failing that did Kira go for the other alternative. It was then that the male prova stepped into the large space and coughing slightly, or at the very least just enough that should he not be scented he would be heard by whom - so - ever was within these rooms.

"Morty?! It's Kira, are you in here?" Kira called cautiously, moving carefully further inside as greem orbs moved constantly while ears twitched for any hints of movement that he may have otherwise missed. Anything was possible right? And besides, it had happened to him before - he'd come here in search of the dark female and although not heard a sound from her yet she had managed to find some spot to hide from view to startle him.

"Morty? I just wanted to find put if there was anything you needed me to do." Kira added, finally forcing himself to slow to a stop virtually in the middle of the large room as puzzled green orbs began wandering over his surroundings for a time. Well, it was better than just simply wandering around aimlessly trying to find her right?

Morty worked often and hard when she didn't have any patients. Her ointments, tinctures, and dried herbs were carefully organized and her work space kept clean. Just because it was often bloodied didn't mean that it had to look like a war zone at all times. She found that a bright environment helped sick patients feel better and sometimes she even brought in potted herbs into the space. As much as she enjoyed the more gruesome parts of her job, lingering patients wasn't something she wanted. The clean space was also a good place to do many of her hobbies, while making herself available to the pack.

Skinning was her first, though, she found the hobby a pain to clean up after if she wanted to keep a pristine environment. So, she had cast the task to her home and the woodlands surrounding. Dyeing was quickly becoming another hobby and she knew all sorts of plants and many that lacked medicinal purposes made excellent items for coloring. She had been studying tattooing but it was hard to find willing subjects to go through the pain of a procedure and then be content with the pattern left behind. Dyeing was fun, though with much less possibility of blood and squirming, but unwanted modifications would fade.

Morty didn't like modifications on herself, but fancied the effect on others and scrupulously organized the colors, practicing on pelt scraps. She even knew how to lighten the furs, honey, cinnamon and chamomile often made a potent mix.

Her dark ear turned at the sound of an eager voice. Morty recognized Kira's voice but he didn't sound like he was in agony, which disappointed her, but he had stepped into her liar at just the right time. After his second call, she popped into view, smiling at the ashy canine. A broad grin of opportunity appeared, "Hello, love," She started, brightly. "It looks like you've come right in time!" The glee was palpable in her voice. "Come, come, no time to explain but it's good you've come!"

She lead him into a patient room, neat with a cluster of planted poppies in an old jar. "Sit!" She commanded, though in the same chipper voice. She pointed to an old, worn chair.

Maybe Morty wasn't around here after all, she had to have some form of activities and such outside of here right? It couldn't be as if she spent all her time stuck inside here. It had been this that had nearly tugged the male out and away from the medico rooms and off who knew where to find some other task to do, so it had been with that in mind that Kira had begun to consider making his move back towards the door. Or at the very least up until he took note of Morty as she moved into view, his tail flicking from one side to the other before daring to return the smile that were offered him - well, at least for a few moments anyway.

The general look of glee at his arrival was just that little disconcerting, so much that the grey male's smile began to fade and his tail stilled, green orbs even going as far as daring to move over to the door amidst thoughts of escape. But he could not do that right? After all he had come here seeing if the dark healer wanted help with anything so he couldn't leave as soon as he had arrived, that would just be cruel and unfair. "Why do I get this feeling I might regret coming over here?" Kira asked cautiously, though unwilling to disobey the medico he was still uncertain even as he seated himself within the chair that Morty had motioned towards.

"So . . . . What do you want me to do Morty? Not going to amputate anything right?" he joked, of course he had that threat enough times even if it were only meant in jest. Though there was something about this occasion that just screamed at him that this was something entirely different - it was just what it was that were the problem.

Morty began bringing together a myriad of bowls and pouched powders. There was so much she could do. Her dyes had been woefully neglected though but he figured that putting them together would be just just fine. She pulled down an old jar and opened it, sneezing heartily at the pungent smell of vinegar. Snorting, she emptied several colors into separate bowls. There wa was a rich, crimson red, a dark indigo color, and a dark hue of green. The powders were finely refined from various plants that she could hardly even remember now but they were strong dyes. The last time she had messed with them, her hands had been stained a muddy purple for some days.

"Regret? Never! No one regrets coming into my chambers, perhaps they might leave missing a limb but never with regret!" She laughed, pouring some of the vinegar into the separate concoctions. The colors really came out when she added the liquid. Using a wooden tool, she began mixing them hurriedly. Though, her work didn't stop her from sending him excited look. "What, do you think you need a limb removed? I am more than happy to do it, free of charge if you think four limbs is too much to handle." She giggled gleefully, putting the bowls down once she had stopped mixing.

Circling around his chair, she put her hands into his pale hair, ruffling it slightly. It was the perfect color for her dyes. Her own fur was much to dark to be effected without bleaching the color away. She had never been interested in modification herself. "Tell me, Kira, what are you favorite colors? Red, blue or green?" She though red or blue would be suitable for him, green would rather turn him into a shrub like creature and she couldn't have that.

Kira could not help but allow his gaze to wander round to see just what the dark furred female medico were up to, the sounds of whatever it was that she were collecting up had peaked his curiousity to the point in which Kira were unable to keep himself from being nosy. Naturally all the thigns in which she had gathered up had sure got him puzzled, Sure he could probably safely guess just what the various colored powders were going to be used for, but then again there was that chance that he could be wrong right? It were the strong scent of vinegar reaching his nose that got it wrinkling slightly at it for a time, green orbs only moving away from observing the mixing of the strong smelling liquid with the various colored powders to Morty at hearing her speak then subsequently giggling.

"I don't think that - and I don't need, want, anything being removed. I'm attached to everything." Kira shot back, though with more of a hint of amusement in his voice more than anything else. After all; who could allow themselves to be annoyed at Morty's morbid sense of humour for too long? It were only when the medico finishec her task and circled him so that she were standing before Kira and ran her forepaws through his hair did any of his previous suspicions become confirmed even before she queried him.

Oh great, she wanted to dye his fur? Well that had to be better than anything else that she may have wanted to do. And it wasn't as if it would be too permanant right? It would fade after a while, unless it were too deep a color and took longer - though even then . . . . how bad could it be? It took the silvery male a fw moments to consider th options in which were being given to him before a sigh was forced from him, well it wasn't as if he were about to be allowed to leave now until Morty had finished just what she had in mind for him right? "Blue . . . . . Less chance of anyone thinking I've had any accidents too." It wasn't as if he didn't like red; but if it were the choice between having his fur dyed that color and being on the receiving end of some form of injury - well it would certainly make things harder to locate any injuries during the time the dye was still evident. At least with the blue; well as it faded he could easily convince others the blue tinge was just a part of his general coloring and who knows he might become attached enough to have it done again.

Morty was too excited to be too disappointed that he denied her request at limb removal. It was her specialty and her patients almost always lived after the procedure was done. Though, some experienced phantom limb pain for years to come. It was rather unfortunate but she supposed that not everything could be perfectly done, or she would have perfected it already.

She would have just as much fun dyeing his fur, and it would be much less messy than other routes. Kira looked a little nervous though and she hardly thought nervousness was necessary. "Please, Kira, don't look so nervous. The dyes won't even sting and you get to keep all your limbs. I can't think of anything better." She grinned roguishly when he picked a color and she received over to collect it. It was a rather royal shade of blue and Kira would look like he was descended from kings after she was done with him. She just hoped he could marvel at the power of dyes as much as she did for it was truly quite spectacular.

"I'm glad you chose it, blue will look wonderful on you, though green would have matched your eyes." He still would have looked like a shrub though and of all things, she didn't want him being bullied by his peers for going green. Grabbing a section of his hair, she thought of doing streaks. That way, he wouldn't loose the beautiful pale color and his hair would look more like a river than a blue ocean. But once she had her first section she began to do the fun part.

Scooping a glob of dye, she ran it through the section of his hair, making sure it was well colored. The indigo went on smoothly and without much fuss and just as quickly she went on to another portion of his hair.

Maybe he was being foolish in regards to his general behavior considering that he was not actually in any type of situation that would result in any form of harm directed to him, even if this was Morty he were talking to. And besides - like Morty herself stated - it wa snot as if he would have to be parted, willingly or otherwise, from any of his limbs so aside from some color alterations. So this was certainly more than enough to dispel any sense of nervousness that Kira may have felt about this particular situation, provided that everything went well rather than badly wrong - though even if things did go that way, the worst that could happen was near permanant dyed fur.

So with Kira's general posture going from wary and nervous to something more akin to relaxed he found his gaze following the female medico as she went to retrieve the dye in which he had spoken of and maving back to where she had originally stood, visibly taking note of her comments in regards to his choice. Only then did the silvery male ensure he kept himself still in order to avoid any problems for the she-wolf. Though he stayed quite for a time; Kira could not stop the flicker of curiousity from forming uppon his features after a time as green orbs slowly lifted to observe Morty for a long time.

"Why you so suddenly interested in dying things Morty? Thought you enjoyed the more morbid stuff." he really couldn't stop himself from asking, but what harm could such a thing really do?

Morty was intent on her work, she did it with the same diligence she would any type of procedure. It was something she was good at, following steps and following through. It was what made her such a good medic to begin with and when she had clear instructions to follow, she was more than happy to continue. However, when things did get tough, Morty prided herself on a mind ready for riddles and tricks.

Dyeing was no medical mystery and it soothed her in its simplicity. In a world of complexities, every moving mind needed something they could slow down on. Dyeing did just the trick for her and she enjoyed making rich hues for the pelts she skinned, making a new kind of decoration. If she was any good at sewing, she may have already tried her hand at very colorful armors.

Kira had been quiet for quite some time but it came to that he was ready to pipe up once more. Morty was already nearing completion, the male had plenty of a mane but it was finer than her own. "Everyone needs a hobby," She scoffed as if it were obvious, "And every so often, there's nobody's bloody mess to clean up or sew back together. And with all these spare herbs around, I'm bound to experiment." She rolled her eyes rather dramatically and continued to work on his hair until it was what Morty considered perfect.

The very ends contained most of the pigment and as it rose, it grew lighter until his roots were he white he was accustomed to. But ti was hard to tell completely until he had allowed it to sit and then they would wash it out and behold the medic's work. Morty only wished that time would move just a little bit faster.

Strange as it was Kira near didn't expect much in way of an answer from Morty, he wasn't quite sure why - but then for all he knew it might just have been down to the pure and simple detail of the female medic being so engrossed in her current task of dying his hair. He had been more than prepared to dismiss and make a mention of forgetting such a question had Morty not spoken and gotten the silvery male's ear's twitching visibly in a certain degree of curiousity for a time, a hint of understanding finally becoming gradually evident even if it were only for a matter of moments. Of course, who wouldn't want to have some form of hobby to occupy their time? Especially should it either be different from what they did on a regular basis or even be united with something else in which interested that particular individual, in this case no doubt Morty's interest in skinning the pekts of other beings - it made sense that she may want to modify it's natural coloring.

Kira would have given a silent nod of understnading had he not thought that it would not turn out badly for him, but given the circumstances it would more than likely not his best idea rather his tail flicked slightly to make up for the lack of a verbal response. "Well what do you expect? There's been no reason for anyone to be too badly hurt recently, not enough to have you sew them up again. Not unless you start changing that." he dared to tease, the corner's of the male's maw turning up slightly in an attempt at a small smile as green orbs turned to look upon Morty as he spoke.

It was only when the dark she-wolf seemed to finish her 'work' that he shot a slightly quizzical yet silent look; though he could only assume that she were either done or a short time from being so he had not taken note of any verbal one in which would indicate such a thing. Well - Kira wasn't about to start moving around only to regret such a decision. That would just be foolish right?

Morty rolled her eyes at Kira's comment. She didn't say anything immediately and took a step back from her work. The hair would have to sit for a little while for the dye to set in and then it would the time to really see what it would look like. Morty had very rarely died anything so alive as hair on a canine, most of her work was with the winter coats of rabbits that were a beautiful, untarnished white which made the perfect canvas for her dies. Though, most of her projects were left with the rabbit simply being dyed with smatterings of red to imitate blood.

"Love, you're the one that asked why I do this. I'm mighty aware there's no one to be patched up right now. If there was someone to stitch up, I think you know I'd be giving it my full attention." She was patient and chatty but she didn't like questions being turned around on her and though she did enjoy her job as a medico very much, she couldn't exactly do it all day everyday. And for now, most of her research was focused around preventative items and treating the arthritis of the older and very large members of the pack, her best costumer being the Sole of the pack himself.

Placing her bowl of dye away, Morty sat down on one the beds lightly, not wanting to ruffle the sheets too much. She kept her patient rooms very clean and up to date in their amenities with fresh water always available and she was always willing to go into the storage and bring a good and healthy meal to those that could hold it down. "We're just gonna let the sit, but until then, got any ore silly question, Kira?" They would probably be about his new hair, but she was open for anything.
