p. Lelouch; Anathema, Present-day.

[000] This is for Lelouch; set a little after the crack of dawn xD

Adolescence left her out of proportion – here she was bigger than she had been, but still not proportioned properly. She had this big head, big ears, but scrawny body. She didn’t like it and she didn’t like that her mother wouldn’t let her start training yet. She had already seen Uncle Nero bloody and on the brink of death – wasn’t it time that she protected her pack too? Tzila’s head was in the clouds; Lithia didn’t know what her sister thought about the situation because it wasn’t like she consulted her regularly anyway. The condition her uncle was in hit Lithia hard – hard in a way that she felt like Anathema was under attack, but everyone was keeping it a secret from her and keeping their happy faces on around her. Kentaro never looked particularly worried – but wasn’t his game face one of his proven skills? He was the Angelo after all… He needed to fool everyone else.

She felt weird as she trotted out in the morning dusk. Since she was a lot bigger, she was able to open doors with her teeth now – or jump out of windows while her family still slept. She knew her mother would absolutely have her head if she left the territory, so she didn’t. Axelle was the only one she feared, since she smelled the traces of old blood still left in the house and she heard the stories (even if she wasn’t supposed to) of her Grandpa being murdered in that same house – the kitchen, if she wasn’t mistaken.

She didn’t mess around with mommy – but she did go to the very edge of her limits. She positioned herself at the borders, giving herself a little room in between and watched as her mom’s bird, Noir, circled in the sky above her, no doubt keeping a beady little eye on her. "Ugh, go away," Lithia groaned and wished she was black enough to blend in with the darkness – if there was darkness during morning time. She fixed her eyes on the sprawling lands before her, when a particularly large cricket hopped across her path – and it immediately aroused her. She bowed behind it, and when it hopped away from her, she scrambled after it, bouncing and hopping – but careful not to kill it. For now.

OOC here. [000]

He missed her. Not all the time but.. he still missed her. Even with Amorette, Isolde, and Kentaro acting as his new parents they could never replace her. She was his mother, his true mother. The dark wolf-dog that had given birth to him and raised him. She was in his earliest memories. There were times where he would wrap the sleeping furs around his little body and close his eyes tight as he pretended he was in her arms again. If he really concentrated he could almost smell her midnight fur and hear her voice in his head. He could even remember his first father, although that man wasn't his real father. Still, Lelouch wished he could go back to them and to the pack of his birth.

Lelouch sat on the boarders, he nose turned west as it twitched lightly. Violet eyes gazed out past the fence and into the forest, yet his gaze was unfocused as him mind traveled farther than he could see. He went back to Salsola, back to where his grandmother, father, and real mother were. It had been many moons since he had last seen them and his memories were getting hazy. What if he forgot them? What if he could no longer remember their voices? Their scents?

Black ears drooped and Lelouch let his gaze lower as his tail wrapped around his legs. A cry immediately brought his ears to attention as his head snapped up. Lelouch stood, glancing around through the forest as he tried to find the source of the cry. He began to retreat farther into the pack lands as he wondered if it was an intruder. Lelouch stifled a whine as he continued to search. Suddenly, a small body burst through the brush and Lelouch yelped in fright. Scrambling he took several steps backwards before recognition dawned on him. It was Lithia, one of the older puppies of Anathema. Lelouch frowned at her as he righted himself. He wasn't really good with other puppies. Unsure of what to say or do, he stood awkwardly staring at her in the hopes that she might just ignore him.

[000] Here I was pressuring you to reply, and I take half a month -.-

The large cricket had taken her away from the borders and into the sparse forest of Musquodoboit Valley. The cricket would pause, climb up a small portion of one skinny tree, stare at her prowling up to it, and then spring off of it, sending itself farther than usual, but still not out of Lithia’s sight. She followed it further and further into the valley, carefully bouncing around the trees and keeping the bug within her sights. At one point, it thought it was smart by crawling into a sprawl of nearby brush. Lithia waited until it crawled out the other side, and then burst through the brush. Lelouch’s scent must have been downwind and she had been making too much noise to hear him from the start, so when he yelped, he scared her almost as much as she scared him. Lithia bounced sideways and landed on the cricket, squishing half of its body onto the forest floor.

”Jeez, Lelouch, you scared me,” she breathed as she regained herself and stood beside the cricket. Looking sidelong down at the bug, she realized it was partially dead as it twitched and attempted to drag its half-dead body from the area it was squished into. ”Shit, you made me step on it!” she looked up angrily at Lelouch, ”Do you see what you’ve done?” The cricket continued to attempt to pry its gooey, mutilated body off of the forest floor, and managed to drag itself an inch. Lithia thought about putting it out of its misery, but decided against it. She returned her pink gaze back to Lelouch, ”I guess I’ll just have to hunt you instead.” She bowed before him, waving her rump in the air – but the dangerous look in her eyes prompted him to run – or be tackled.

OOC here. [000]

The pup's heart was pounding as he righted himself. His violet eyes glance sidelong at the other pup as he wondered if he could sneak away. Perhaps she would simply go back to... whatever it was she was doing. Shuffling slightly sideways, he glanced around quickly as he searched for an escape route. Lithia's scolding voice made his head snap back and black ears shoot sky high as she accused him of scaring her. He frowned at the accusation but didn't really feel like arguing with her. That was, until she accused him for "making" step on something. Lelouch's frown turned into an all out glare as his ears flicked back and his tailed bristled in annoyance. I didn't do nothin'. You were the run running around like a rabbit and you stepped on it. Whatever it is. The black boy was practically growling as he defended himself.

Lithia's pink gaze caught him and she cheerfully announced that she was going to hunt him instead. Lelouch's ears sunk into his skull and his tail tucked between his legs as she went into a play bow. Wait, what! Lithia, that's... The look in her eyes said it all and Lelouch yelped as his turned tail to run. Lelouch's lanky legs pumped beneath him as he tried to speed through the forest. Ducking and weaving, he dashed as fast as he could while his breath came in shallow pants. Why did girls always want to chase him? He pushed his head down and sped up as he tried to get away from the other pup. He shut his eyes for a mome-SMACK!

He didn't even yelp as he sunk to the forest floor with a whimper. His paw went to his injured forehead and decided that the entire day sucked. Shaking his head, he stood and frantically glanced around for Lithia who was bound to be close behind. Lelouch could do okay in a short sprint, but he sucked at running in general.

Lelouch pled a good case, but she wasn’t about to let him get away with making her squish her bug prey (not that she was going to eat it). He was almost growling at her, and she was amused that she made him so mad already. However, she stood neutrally – not showing him that he amused her and not particularly showing him that he angered her either. Instead, she proposed that she hunt him instead, which didn’t take long to make him run. She sprang from her position after giving him about 2 seconds to start running. He bolted through the forest, and she took off after him. From having been bouncing around through the trees before, she still had her momentum. She quickly and easily maneuvered around the trees and wasn’t far behind him.

However, there was a point where he made a particularly sharp turn, which she wasn’t expecting, and it caused her to skid a little ahead. She had to regain herself and run back around the turn – and when she did, he disappeared. Slowly, she walked, listening for running puppy footsteps, but by this time, Lelouch had already stopped running. She stood between two large trees and lifted her nose to the air. As a breeze came, she sniffed hard and then pinpointed his location. She trotted there, because it wasn’t far. When she reached him, she saw him looking in another direction, and before he could hear her or smell her or react to her, she pounced him.

She landed on him hard, and at once took to chewing on his ears and biting his scruff. She tried to pin him down as best as she could, but it proved to be a struggle especially since he seemed to be a male puppy and was obviously a little stronger than her.

(000) Lemme know if anything should be changed! Poor Lelouch!

Other pups royally sucked! She simply strode in and unapologetically interrupted him without even a second thought. Plus Lithia was making him run. He hated to run. Lelouch wasn't built for running. He was all lank and no muscle. Besides, the death of her... whatever it was, was her own fault. Yet he was getting punished for it. Couldn't she just go on amusing herself without harassing him?

Lithia's bouncing steps weren't far behind him as he dashed through the forest and she was on him in no time after he crashed into the tree. Lelouch resigned himself to his fate and sure enough, she erupted from the forest as a ball of black energy and hit him like a ton of bricks. He fell over and wound up paws to the air as she chewed on him. Squirming and growling, Lelouch fought to try and get out of her grip. They tussled evenly back and forth as they each fought for control. Lelouch tried to take passes at her legs, or ears, or anything within reach of his jaws. Instincts kicked in and Lelouch's heart pounded as he tussled with her. As their wrestling dragged on he even found himself enjoying the back and forth nipping despite him self. Paws and claws pushed him down as the pair struggled until Lelouch's energy gave out on him.

He flopped to the ground with a whine and cried, You win! I give, I give. Lelouch flattened himself to the ground, his ears pinned back and his tail tucked between his legs in submission. Hopefully she would get off him or at least stop the onslaught of bites. Heck if he was lucky, she might even be down for just sitting and chatting, although he seriously doubted that. Nyx would insist on playing a game, or hunting practice, or something else that made Lelouch exert himself physically. He doubted Lithia was any different.

The two of them wrestled on the forest floor for what felt like a good while, but it had only been a few minutes. He proved to be a good enough challenge for her. At some points, she had thought she had him only for Lelouch to twist a certain way, which would make her flop down on her face and be the victim of the bites and nips. She playfully growled at him as she fought him back, but eventually the fun came to a screeching hault as Lelouch threw himself to the ground and gave up. They were both panting and she stood over him like a confused tiger. ”Ugh, you’re boring,” she whined. She could sense that chasing and play fighting wasn’t Lelouch’s thing, but she couldn’t think of anything else that puppies would do that could be considered ‘fun’.

Lithia left him alone, and laid down a foot or two away from him, panting. She was covered with leaf bits and dirt from their tussle on forest floor. She laid back, panting up at the sky looking at the pretty colors of sunrise fading against the daylight. The sun’s rise and set were always so quick, but yet the day or night was so long. She didn’t understand it. Turning her head back to Lelouch, she sat up a little bit and licked her lips, trying to collect the sweat that dripped from her tongue. ”So, what do you do for fun?” she asked, mostly to entertain herself and learn something about him. She hadn’t known very much about him. And since he didn’t like play fighting, she wanted to know what other options there were for playing.

OOC here. [000]

At least someone was enjoying the torture. That was supposed to be something... right? The fact that one of them was enjoying the wrestling match was supposed to be a good thing. If so, why wasn't he having any fun with it? He didn't enjoy being tossed about and bitten. Even so, when he gave up, Lithia pronounced him 'boring' with an ear splitting whine. Finally freed from his confinement, Lelouch scrambled to his feet and put a good foot between himself and the other pup.

Both parties were panting heavily and Lelouch eyed Lithia carefully as she settled down on the forest floor. While she pondered the stars, he pondered a way out. Perhaps if he got back soon enough, he might just catch Amorette without his father. Then he could really get to playing. Lithia's question cut him off mid pondering and he jumped, looking rather like a guilty pup as he glanced back at her. Once her question registered, he cocked his head to the side and gave her a quizzical stare. "I do fun thing of course." Lelouch straightened his head, only to cock it to the other side as he thought. "Like playing in water or getting tickled by Amor... my mom. I have toys too, like sticks and stuff. Um... planning! Planning is a lot of fun. Pranks and ways to get my dad mad without getting caught."

Lelouch paused as he wondered if he should say anything more about his fights with his dad. One thing Lelouch had managed to figure out was, that while his dad was really strong and equally as scary, Kohaku was missing a few notes when it came to intelligence. So pranking his dad without getting caught had become a regular pastime for the child. Although the consequences being discovered were enormous, the rewards far outweighed the risk.
