Teagan!

POSTED: Sun Dec 10, 2017 4:51 pm

A red cardinal fluttered down into the walls of the Fort and landed on a rock near one of the buildings to peck at some crumbs that had been left out. And then something streaked out of the shadows next to one of the buildings, a dark-saddled Secui leaped up and the bird scarcely had any time to react, but it tried to fly up, only to get caught in the beast's jaws. The cardinal probably died of shock or something and the hunter set it down on the ground.

Iorek had been looking for more feathers to wear and he liked cardinal feathers and wanted more feathers in more colors than just Birdflower's feathers and the two cardinal feathers he had found on the ground. So, the magpie suggested they should try hunting for birds instead. The beast only had feathers in his mane instead of the normal necklaces that were woven into his mane. He had two red feathers tucked behind his left ear and he had various magpie feathers scattered throughout his mane. He also wore his normal necklaces: the key necklace Riley had given him and the pink sea glass necklace he had made himself. The wolfdog also had his normal bandages, but wasn't carrying his satchel for once.

The massive medic looked as the magpie winged down from the rafters where he had been waiting in case the bird escaped. He gave a happy squawk and then hopped closer to the dead bird. While the iridescent bird loved berries and insects, he enjoyed the occasional bird like a cardinal. They were lesser birds to him and he had no problem with killing a fellow bird. He knew that the large Luperci was in for the feathers, the bird would help him pluck the feathers. After all, it would make it easier for the magpie to eat. The feral nurse might also get some of the meat, too.

The scarlet-eyed Officer sat down as the magpie began plucking the feathers off the cardinal. He began licking his paw like a cat as he waited for Birdflower to finish. He had brought the cardinal down and the magpie would pluck off the feathers and then fly it back up to their room before he would come back and eat the plucked carcass. It was a sort of teamwork for them and they would do it again later on. But until then, the beast licked his paw and then rubbed his paw against his face, exactly like a cat. And then someone got the crimson-eyed Cavalier's attention and he stopped mid-lick, looking up.

Left it open for Teagan to come in. Totally random, lol

Lupus (+401)

Feral fighting spar…eventually xD

The morning had been spent in a hunting lesson for her young apprentice. While Jace and her family usually covered such basic survival kills for Minerva, occasionally, the Sworn would accompany the girl. Mako had been the one to suggest such a thing, claiming that it would be good for their relationship if the Reticent saw her outside of just training and history lessons. The hunt had been successful, and Teagan had been sure to speak her approval when she had released the apprentice until the afternoon hours.

A reward of sorts, as well, to let the child feast upon her hard-caught meal in peace. It left Teagan to patrol the Fort in her Lupus form, something that made her feel closer to her mother’s memory in times of late. She had no clear heading, merely meandering here and there, checking things that were much closer to her four-legged eye level than they were in her usual, Optime form. She sniffed at the foot traffic left behind in the snow, mentally accounting for Cavaliers and who had gone roughly where since the day’s first light had spread across the land.

Eventually, she found her way near the barn and training ring. Over the usual stench of the collected livestock, the scent of Iorek and the unmistakable smell of blood filled her nostrils. Her brow’s furrowed as she picked up her pace, skirting around the outer perimeter of the building before coming upon its entrance. She found the behemoth there; a dead cardinal at his feet, his magpie pulling features from its ruby breast, and then the Officer himself looking…oh so intelligent with his tongue stuck to his paw mid-lick.

Teagan frowned heavily at the scene before her. “…interesting…” He looked like a bear. He had feathers in his hair. And, now, she had caught him in the midst of cleaning himself like a feline.

She let out a trying breath. “Did you plan on doing something with the bird after you killed it, or merely leaving it out on the Courthouse’s doorstep?” Like the other cats. As far as she could tell, it didn’t look like Iorek had plans to eat the tiny creature. Even so, it could hardly be called a “snack” for a creature of his size. His avian companion seemed more interested in the red bird than he was.

Iorek down at Teagan who was in her Lupus form. Birdflower gave a chirp of greeting before going back to pluck the carcass. He heard her comment and didn't exactly know what it was supposed the mean. He noticed her frown but that seemed to be one of her normal expressions. He put his paw down as she spoke again the warrior began speaking again. She asked if the wolfdog was actually going to do something with the bird or leave it on the Courthouse's door step.

Leaving it on the door step seemed wasteful to the massive medic and he tilted his head in a confused manner with a somewhat disapproving look at the Stryder as if that was a suggestion. He wouldn't waste a bird like that. The feathers could e used and it was still food. N-No, I w-wouldn't w-waste a b-bird like that. He said with a tone that indicated that he would not even consider the idea. I-I'm u-using th-the f-feathers a-and B-Birdflower w-wanted th-the m-meat. The feral nurse added.

To further illustrate the brown behemoth's tone, Birdflower looked up from his work at the woman. He knew the tone in the beast's voice and knew exactly what to say. "Giiiiiiiirrrlllllllll" The magpie said with the same look as his friend. And then the bird returned to the carcass.

The oversized healer didn't even know if that was the bird's way of greeting people since he'd already done it a couple of times, not just to others but to the beast as well. He looked down at the bird and then back to the tri-colored maiden. S-Sorry. Th-That's th-the o-only w-words h-he kn-knows. The beast said before he was end of an indignant squawk from the bird who actually recognized what he said. S-Sorry. The hulking hybrid said to the iridescent bird.

Then, the scarlet-eyed Officer's attention returned to the canary-eyed woman. Wh-What a-are y-you d-doing h-here? He asked, knowing that it probably wasn't just to give a bad suggestion. Maybe she was here to train though it didn't seem to be any sparing partners or suitable dummies. A-Are y-you h-here t-to t-train? The crimson-eyed Cavalier asked with a head tilt as he got to his feet.

Feel free to PP them moving to the training ring!

The look he gave her might have made another Luperci laugh, however, being Teagan meant that her scowling expression did not falter. He seemed to miss her jab at his cat-like ways, either blissfully ignorant of how feline in nature his current actions were or he simply didn’t see the connection. She saw little need to draw attention to it, as explaining it would take too much effort and wasted breath than she cared for. At the very least, it seemed Iorek had not intended to waste the pretty bird.

“Mmmm.” She eyed the feathers twisted into his mane, surmising the reasoning for his usage to be purely for self-decoration purposes. Teagan supposed it was his way of coping with the loss of available flowers in the wintery season. He seemed to like wearing and collecting pretty things. The mention of his bird wanting to eat the cardinal caused a brow to raise. She wasn’t familiar with whatever species of bird Birdflower was, however, the information Iorek revealed about his avian friend had her guessing that Birdflower was probably something close to a crow or raven rather than an seed, berry, or insect-eating bird.

At the mention of its name, the bird looked their way, speaking a single word in a very drawn out way. Teagan blinked, unsure what to make of it. Its Luperci companion quickly spoke up in its stead, apologizing. She waved it off with a dismissive flick of her tail. “It’s alright.” Without any context, and the bird seeming to be otherwise preoccupied until its obviously unhappy squawk at Iorek, the word held little meaning to the Sworn.

After apologizing for apologizing, Iorek inquired of her activities. “Trying to find something to do,” she answered him honestly. With her apprentice sent off and her chores for the morning finished, she had little left on her schedule of things to do before she met up with Minerva again.

At the mention of training, her head turned ever so slightly towards the training ring that she knew to be nearby. “If you’re offering, I could go for some.” She didn’t want to take Iorek away from his bonding session with his bird for an impromptu spar. “We could stay as we are if so?” Perhaps that might entice him. “It’s been a while since I’ve practiced fighting like this.” Since her mother had been healthy, actually. “And, I’m sure, I could learn a thing or two from you.” She was not so proud to admit that she was lacking, or that the supposed simpleton before her might know something she didn’t.

Her tail wagged stiffly behind her.

I am not a stranger to the dark
Hide away, they say
'Cause we don't want your broken parts

Iorek didn't know if Teagan had even understood what Birdflower had said since he expected an reaction from her. But she just seemed a bit confused. He was a bit surprised but didn't show it. Maybe she had a bird and might have received it from one, he had definitely been on the receiving end of the magpie's "Giiirl" multiple times so he didn't normally react to it. He apologized and the woman told him it was okay before the wolfdog had to apologize to the bird too.

The brown behemoth tilted his head as the wolfdog said that she was trying to find something to do. He thought that she would normally be busy with all the stuff she did: training Minerva, her duties as a Sworn, and any stuff the beast couldn't think of. He was normally without something to do sometimes, especially now during winter when there weren't any herbs to gather. But, the chocolate-saddled brute guessed that no one was ever always busy and always with something to do.

The massive medic was rather surprised when the tri-colored maiden took his offer to train. She also said that they could stay as they were which also came as something he didn't expect since he expected the female to shift up from her Lupus form to match him in size since right now, her head came up to his chest. And she seemed to be rusty, which was also surprising to the male. But then the woman said that she could learn something from the feral nurse.

O-Okay, The scarlet-eyed Officer said as he padded away from the bird who was picking at the carcass. The bird made a questioning noise and the beast replied, You can take the feathers back when you're done. He muttered to the bird as he padded into the training ring. Then he turned to the warrior princess. Then, once the canary-eyed Sworn was ready, the crimson-eyed Cadet waited for the woman to attack. If she came in on him head on, he would duck and twist out of the way before springing back to his feet.

Trying to think of how my dog play-fights with my other one xD

TL;DR: Teagan did as was predicted in your post, then paced a semi-circle around him so she could go for his side. She’s trying to throw her weight into him to throw him off balance and make it so they can grapple-mouth-paw each other up close.

He consented to a training bout, and the Sworn offered a small nod in both acknowledgment and approval. While Iorek had never seemed too keen on fighting, he had proven thus far to be willing to learn and practice. It was something that put him in Teagan’s good favor. For, even for how simple he was sometimes, or with how painfully traditionally feral he acted at others, he had yet to turn down a training session or any sort of duty. Patrolled with her, fought against Syndicate, let her attempt to teach him how to use a knife, and, now, he hadn’t even hesitated at the thought of training once more.

She followed after him, ducking under the running boards of the fencing to get into the ring faster. Her smaller size in her Lupus form allowed her such a shortcut, whereas, Iorek was forced to go the long way around due to his much larger bulk. As he moved into position, she shifted up to her Secui form. Rusty as she was, she didn’t trust her abilities enough to not wind up hurt when dealing with the behemoth that was Iorek. It was safer to try to go toe-to-toe with him with something closer to his enormous height and weight.

The Officer was polite, waiting patiently for her to finish, and, when she was, Teagan shook out her long mane. It had been a while since she had used her Secui form, and the feeling was somewhat foreign to her after so long. Once she felt comfortable in her new form though, she gave him a nod. “Don’t go easy on me,” she told him with a small smirk. While she was sure that he understood that this would be a spar, she didn’t want him to purposely pull his stunts just because she hadn’t fought in the form in such a long time.

When it appeared that he was waiting for her to make the first move, Teagan looked him over. She was assessing him as she would an opponent in her Optime form. Feral fighting was similar to hand-to-hand, but, only so much. She didn’t have hands, only strangely alien paws. She couldn’t kick with her feet, knee someone, or even twist with the grace she had with only two feet. No. The spar they would have here, it would be teeth and claws that they would be using.

Finally, deciding there was no good way to get things rolling, Teagan decided for a simple, straightforward, head-on attack. She charged him, forepaws coming up at the last moment in an attempt to grapple his neck. The Officer ducked though, moving with surprising speed for a creature of his size.

Her forepaws met the dirt as her body came down onto nothing, her canary eyes following her opponent as her body shifted with his new position. This time, she paced in a semi-circle around him, trying to think of something less direct to try. When she had a clear shot of his side, Teagan charged again. Upon getting close enough, she twisted and shifted her weight, aiming to slam her body into him in an attempt to throw him slightly off balance.

Lol, Iorek you sly cat 415+

Iorek watched as Teagan shifted up to her Secui form. She was closer to his size now though he still had more than six inches on her and almost one hundred pounds. He was on the giant side of the spectrum while the woman was on the large side. He had never seen her in this form and had never seen her fight on four legs. But, the beast had learned a couple of moves from his feline friends and he didn't know how likely the woman was to ask for help from cats so the wolfdog might actually have an edge for once.

The knight requested the brown behemoth not to go easy on her but he still remembered that training session they'd had before. She hadn't exactly gone easy with her lecture so he wouldn't go too easy on her though he was aware that it was a spar and that she'd probably wouldn't be happy if he injured her. But that would never happen unless she was clumsy since the beast was rather agile in this Secui skin. Also, then the chocolate-saddled brute would have to heal the woman either way and would never hear the end of that.

The tri-colored Secui charged at the massive medic and she came up high as if to grab his neck. On instinct, the halfling ducked and twisted to roll away like a cat. Except he didn't try and lay on the ground and try to grab her and hiss like a normal cat would. He sprang up with surprising quickness and waited for her again. He knew that him going on the offensive may not be the best idea since she was faster than the enormous hybrid so he would stay on the defensive. The woman then began pacing around in a semi circle and his ruby gaze followed her as he squared himself up, yet the feral nurse was tensed to dodge if he had to.

The warrior princess came at him again and the scarlet-eyed Officer dodged around again, but he saw how she shifted her body to slam into him and he knew that she probably would have fallen or something anyways but the beast came around to grab her tail in attempts to unbalance her, turning the tables as the one who was going to unbalance was to come unbalanced. If the woman was to fall, then the crimson-eyed Cavalier would try to pounce and pin her if he could.

Short and sweet because fighting x3

He evaded her again, and her teeth clenched in her slow-growing frustration at her failed attempts. However, she knew full well that her skills were quite rusty in such a form. It had been nearly two seasons since she had properly trained with someone, and, even then, it had been with someone that put her on the defensive and in a more reactive role than what she was currently enacting now with Iorek.

Once more, her eyes followed after her elusive opponent, still unused to his nimbleness for such a gargantuan creature that he was. One might have expected him to blunder through his movements with how he acted elsewhere in everyday life. No, she had come to realize, this was Iorek’s element just as fighting in Optime was hers.

Iorek’s teeth wrapped around her tail, using her own momentum against her to pull her to the ground butt-first. When he released her in what appeared to be a preparatory action to a pounce upon her though, Teagan had planted one of her forepaws and allowed herself to twist around, teeth threatening to snap on the air between them to make him back off. In a real fight, it would have been a move aimed to catch flesh.

Iorek jumped backwards as Teagan twisted back around to try and bite him or something. He bared his teeth and began pacing around, back and forth as he tried to do one of the moves he had done when he had sparred with Veri. He could tell the woman was out of her element, or else he'd be on the ground and beaten. He hadn't seen her in a feral shape for a while, maybe never and judging by how much he used his feral shape, the wolfdog knew he used his halfling shape more than she did, or so he assumed.

The massive medic knew that there was one trick he had up his sleeve - or scruff - that would be of a shock to the female. He remembered what Addison had done when she and Jackson had been teaching him some moves. It had been an interesting move that was unpredictable and he would think it would shock the warrior princess, especially if she didn't know what he was doing. And the move was new to even the feral nurse but he was sure that he could make it work.

The scarlet-eyed Officer began to feint back and forth as he got moved forwards and spinning almost crazily ever so often. And then he came at the canary-eyed Sworn's side and then instead of rearing up, he simply swiped at her a couple of times, his blows light as to not injure if she didn't dodge them. Then, he ducked his head to move forwards out of the way of any retaliation and then faced her but crouched down to the ground, almost like a cat. Well, the crimson-eyed Cavalier wouldn't be able to look anymore catlike in that position other than have a long tail he could swish back and forth.

Her warning snap moved him away from her tail, just as she had wanted. Iorek moved further back and out of her range, and Teagan was able to bring herself back to her feet once more with him no longer actively trying to subdue her. He shifted back and forth, dancing from one spot to the next. In Optime form, the move might have served as to keep him as a moving target, to keep his opponent on their toes. Shuffling or sliding from one foot to another, the movement could be obtained in a subtle and smooth manner since there were only two feet to move. In their four-legged forms though, it did not translate as well.

Teagan couldn’t make sense of what he was doing. To her, he was wasting energy. Her canary eyes watched him, trying to read into his actions and prepare herself for whatever action he might take. Thus far, his moves had been defensive, evasive. He had yet to attack her outright. It irritated the Stryder, but she did well to not show it and give him any ideas. Iorek had never been an aggressive sort, so, it only made sense if his fighting style mirrored as much.

She waited, muscles tensed and ready to take action. The behemoth changed from his frivolous prancing to making mock attacks towards her. There we go. Just when he came within range though, and when Teagan had prepared herself for a collision of teeth, claws, and fur, Iorek would pull himself back and out of harm’s way once more. He’d spin and dance away, and, for a moment, the warrior princess thought he had turned the training session into a joke.

The Officer moved around to her side, swiping at her with his massive paws that Teagan did well to evade backwards or to the side from. When she saw an opening, she pushed back, aiming to cuff him on his broad snout. Nimbly, he, once more, evaded her. Iorek moved well out of range of her then, dropping down into an energy-building crouch.

His stub tail swished back and forth, wiggling his whole backend in a way that a less-hardened Luperci might have deemed “cute.” Teagan’s tail wagged stiffly behind her as she recognized the stance of someone ready to pounce. She waited for his move, her muscles ready for if the bear-cat—whatever he was—Luperci decided to try and tackle her.
